Hotel Santa Ponsa Park/Pionero

A central hotel with great entertainment, the Pionero/Santa Ponsa Park has got all corners covered. Two roomy pools offer up a whole cast of water-based activities, and come evening live shows are on the cards. Rooms are nice and spacious, too.

Right in the heart of the seaside town of Santa Ponsa, this complex has got everything on its doorstep. Forget tracking down bus stops and hunting for cabs - the beach, bars, restaurants and shops are all within flip-flopping distance.

But this place has got more than just location on its side - there’s the actual hotel facilities, too. Star billing goes to its impressive entertainment menu. You’ve got a selection of daytime activities like water polo, archery and volleyball, while live shows pick up the baton in the evening. Kids aren’t left out either - they get their own playroom, and kids aged five and over can join in the fun at the hotel’s hobby club.

Then there's a couple of big swimming pools to consider, complete with a kids section, set into a good-sized sun terrace. And there are plenty of sunbeds and thatched parasols out here, too.

Step inside, meanwhile, and you’ll find the bedrooms. They’re light, spacious and simply styled with whitewashed walls and light wood furniture. What’s more, they all come with private balconies.

A nice break for a week. Flew from East Midlands mom and daughter

We booked a last minute via Travel Zoo. All the documents arrived within a couple of days. We booked the transfer and it was a long time to get to the hotel. The entertainment team worked really hard all week and although I didn't participate, my daughter did. Yes the pool is cold, but who wants it hot! The bingo was ok and just a line and full house. Enough for me. The children's entertainment kept them amused. We had a nice room on the 5th floor. Towels were changed every day. The food was ok, but I have to say going all inclusive doesn't mean you have to eat there all the time. It's for your convenience. I enjoyed the glass or even carafe of red wine both at lunch and evening. We were upgraded to a black band and it gave us extras such as the free safe and getting drinks from both bars. The area is lovely and we had the added luck of fab weather. We asked for extra pillows and these arrived. Yes reception staff not too helpful but the lady who was behind the bar most of the week always had a friendly smile and very helpful. I am not sure what people expect from their holidays. I agree it is not our 4 star, but please just go and enjoy yourself and make the best. I have been in far worse hotels over the last 40 years and until recently had three holidays a year. Would we go back. Yes. We had a nice evening out at Fat Sams. I also had fish every day which I rarely eat at home.More

Beautiful, peaceful Globales

Lovely surroundings for a hotel twinned with another next door with two pools. Warm welcome @ reception. Lovely room. Very clean & spacious. Got a toiletry welcome pack. Good air-conditioning. Went for lunch soon after arriving & greeted in restaurant by Sebastian, excellent restaurant manager. Straight away was seen by a beautiful & friendly waitress,Sylvia, who offered me a caraffe of wine. She seemed to have a smile all the time & happy what she was doing in her job. Excellent choice of food - fish, meats, pasta, paella, salads. This even continued into the eveing meals where choice of food was excellent again with various dishes to choose from & the same with breakfast for continental or cooked meals. After meal went for sunbathe round the pool then went for walk around local area to familiarize myself with sourrounding town. This has beautiful beaches & lovely bars. Went back to hotel to get ready for evening meal & ready for evening entertainment. Something different every night which had a wonderful animation team that kept you interested with bingo & shows. There were dancing acts, singing acts, even the team got involved & i got involved myself by being in one show plus quiz night & game show night plus dancing to music nights. They also got kids involved which was fantastic. Bar staff tried to keep you flowing with drinks even though there were long queues as it was busy every night. During the day entertainment team of Regina,Richard,Marco,Sara,Martina,Simone & Cindy kept you entertained with Darts,Pool,Shollen,French Bowls,Table Tennis & dancing, plus free for all games for all ages. So many people got involved. Sometimes during day male staff behind bar could've been more attentive or smiled more but at least we got our drinks in the end!! Overall it was a friendly warm hotel which had some lovely decor features inside for communal areas. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves of all ages & this made for a pleasant stay where everybody joined in.More

Perfect last minute break

We booked a 4 day last minute break and can not fault the hotel staff and service. The food was good and the room was excellent as well as the staff, I have no idea why others have spoken badly as we had a great break.More

Just returned from 1 week all inclusive. A last minute booking but was hopeful from the reviews we read and the fact it was a reasonable price that it be a great holiday. There was no welcome at reception, 2 grumpy receptionists who hadn't been to charm school and certainly shouldn't be the front face of reception staff of a hotel claiming to be 4 star. The room was passable, just. Mildew around bath, balcony looked onto another building opposite so no privacy at all. Cheap laminate flooring and bed sheets that didn't get changed for a week. Only 1 pillow and when asked at reception for more was told not until the next day. When I informed them that I had asthma suddenly an extra pillow appeared so they were available!! Food - where do I start. Cold, dull, 'hot' main courses were cheap meats that were over cooked and cold. Salad bar was ok - spent the week eating salad and cake! However salads and cakes almost the same every night. On arrival we saw immediately all we needed to know about the entertainment. Guests doing the conga led by Middle Aged man dressed as Brittany spiers.. Pool extra cold and the sun beds were towel claimed the night before. No chance of finding one after 7am. The staff allowed this to happen. We survived and created a good holiday for ourselves by using it as a base. Palma is only 20 mins away on the 102 bus and was our holiday life saver! Lovely beach, shops and cafe bars. Very clean. And only €3 to get to. We also used palma to get to valdemossa, a beautiful village in the hills and only cost a further €1.85 to get there! I would say if you get it cheap go bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were fairly good and you can then idle your days away from the hotel and all the things that really make it no more than 2-3 star at best. More

Jennie W,

Never again !

We have used this hotel 4 times now and saw some massive changes since bring there in June this year and going back again on 6th oct to 13th oct this year, during our stay this oct we found staff to be very abrupt when speaking to them and not helpful at all , only one member if staff always greeted us with a smile and was very helpful and friendly that was Maria who worked in the bar she was lovely, the room this time was same as we had on previous stays but this time we only had bed linen changed once during our stay, cleaners always looked to be working constantly but were not changing beds , we had a late arrival dye to delays and did t get there till after 1am we asked for a cup if tea and were very abruptly told NO TEA , wait till morning , we were also told we would have a bottle of wine in our room on arrival and that also wasn't there, constanza at reception was very unhelpful and horrible she would do well working in a concentration camp rather than a 4 star hotel she was down right rude throughout our stay and had even reduced an older couple to tears , the food was horrible mostly the same everyday and always cold and either over cooked or undercooked , this hotel does not cater. for the British , they closed the pools at 6pm on the dot and at one point we even saw them closing the pool when there were people still in it ; (shocking) I could go on and on in this review with nothing good to say but would take me longer than the 7 days holiday I had, We paid for all inclusive , big mistake the entertainment was awful or non existent and lasted 1 and a half hours or less This hotel should be downgraded to 3 star as it's never a 4 star in it's life , My advice is don't use this hotel NEVER AGAIN FOR US More
