If you want to be in the heart of the action, the Rey Don Jaime is the perfect choice. It’s just across the road from Santa Ponsa’s picture-perfect beach. Plus you’ll find all the other holiday essentials on your doorstep, including shops, restaurants, nightclubs and even a golf course.
When you’re not out and about, the hotel’s lagoon-shaped pool is the place to be. Surrounded by a large palm-dotted terrace, it’s a great spot to set up camp for the day. There’s a bar out here, too, complete with a lengthy menu of drinks and snacks.
Talking of food, the hotel’s main restaurant offers up tasty dishes in a relaxed setting. Breakfast is the full works, with plates piled high with bacon, eggs and pastries. Dinners, meanwhile, are a varied affair. As well as serving up classics like pizza and pasta, the restaurant puts on theme nights. So you could be tucking into a spicy curry one night and a steaming bowl of egg-fried rice the next.
The bedrooms are simple but modern. Neutral walls are livened up by gold-coloured soft furnishings, while dark wooden furniture gives things a trendy edge. In terms of mod-cons, air-conditioning and satellite TVs come as standard. Plus each room has its own balcony or terrace complete with great views of the hotel’s grounds.
Santa Ponsa's attractive beach, with bordering pine trees giving natural shade, is easy to access from the hotel and offers good facilities. Take a walk along the promenade and feel the warmth of the late evening sun as it sets over Bay.

Located 30 kilometres from Palma on Majorca's southwest coast, Santa Ponsa has grown in and around a wide and deeply recessed bay, edged by pines and sun-bleached sands. The main beach, with its large expanse of white sands, is popular with both holidaymakers and locals, but there is a smaller, quieter beach to the south. Many watersports are available, as are tennis, bicycle hire and golf. Santa Ponsa achieves a good balance between both beach and nightlife. Discos, clubs and bars, particularly Irish bars with live music, provide a fun atmosphere in Santa Ponsa, with dozens of restaurants. There are also good facilities for self catering stays.

I stayed at this hotel in early October this year with my mum and as soon as we arrived we liked it. The reception area is clean and modern. We arrived in the night and their was an open-late cold meal waiting for us in the dining part which was great... more on this review
