Few days in the sun!
I was really looking forward to this hotel from all the great reviews on trip adviser so maybe I had built it up above its league! The room was great on arriving given a free upgrade to room with semi shared pool so many afternoons enjoyed sitting on the decking outside room. Drinks were great and ice creams but food was the biggest let down awful my two teenage boys aren't fussy but really struggled to find anything so lived off salad and chips! I was really disappointed with the area just felt really tacky and not like my last visit to Porto Cristo where the beaches were amazing. I really cant understand the hype on this hotel as normally trip adviser never leaves us disappointed with a hotel.More
Fabby week do we have to go home??
Our first visit to this hotel. Me, hubby and 15yr old daughter. Fortunate enough to get a swim-up room. Lovely, was going to say a mat at the patio door would be good to catch the drips from your wet costume but you are given slippers and a bath robe! Silly me. Flowers in the room, cava on first full day in an ice bucket. Fresh fruit on second last day. Final night bed folded down and mini mars bar on your pillow. Room kept really clean on a daily basis. Got a knock each evening to ask if towels to be changed. However 2 days the mini bar was not replenished but we had not used much so not an issue for us. I agree that food was not fabulous and my daughter did eat cheese and biscuits for the week. I lived on yogurt for breakfast with nuts seeds and fruit . Asked for poached egg but they do not do. Could have had all other types, scrambled (yuck), but I only eat scrambled egg made by me!!! , boiled or fried. Also omelette if you asked and made to order at the grill plate. Tried sausage, bacon but sausage was poor quality and bacon like rubber. I don't tend to have fried breakfast so I was ok. Lunch and dinner much the same. Was disappointed at lack of seafood for dinner starter as we are so close to the sea! I had fish most lunch and dinner from the grill and loved the monkfish curry, delicious. Someone said only Chips but always chips, pasta, potatoes dish and a rice dish to go with meat dish. Agree set up a big confusing. I liked to wander round first have a look then decide what to have. I always had better than hubby and daughter as I did my look about first. Tea machine gives you hot milk but if you go to the area beside cereal there is a white container with cold fresh milk. Lots of bread and pastries. Last few days a Mallorca table was available so you could breakfast like a local if wished. Think chefs did amazing job considering cooking for hundreds of fussy international tastes. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and remembered you, lovely personal touch. Well trained. Bar drinks great and never had to wait. Table service or go to the bar, up to you really. Entertainment was good on the whole. Don't miss Kenya boys. Great show. Rud Stewart was good too. Avoid Michael Jackson and Mallorca Sound Machine. Both DIRE, people actually left as sound machine were soooo bad including us!!! Entertainment team was one guy and 2 girls. All lovely. Not in your face which they can be. Folks with kids rated the kids club and the kids loved one of the girls especially. Pool area very clean and all areas well maintained and spotless, toilets outside the main bar area on way to lobbie were very hot so could be a bit smelly. On the whole kept cleaner than any other hotel I have been to. No lack of loo roll either. Daughter was a bit bored first few days until she made friends. Could do with a teen area?? Would be appreciated by us parents!!! Looked at the Safari hotel across the road. Like a huge cattle market and games of subbed sardines as so many around a grubby pool area. We had the best hotel. Looked at the 5 star next door. Boring, quiet, soul less!!! Not worth the extra cost for a padded sun bed and bigger room in my opinion. Tried the spa. Had a lovely facial and staff great. Hubby and I did the water spa which was free for our room, was good. He never does so a things. We have been 5 star the last few years and this hotel comes really close. Improve the food and put in something for teenagers and you would get 5 stars from us. Thus must be a fab hotel as we did not want to leave after our week was up and that is unusual for us. Also I usually have an upset tummy. Not this time so that speaks volumes to me about the high standards of this hotel. We will be going back,More

Excellent hotel except a few things
Just spent a week in this hotel with my partner and our daughter. We couldn't really fault alot of the hotel and would recommend it especially for families. Good Points: We were going to upgrade but they had no space and we were told to ask on arrival we did and still none available so went to our room and very pleasantly surprised. It was more like a decent london hotel room instead of a basic holiday room, the bathroom was lovely and didnt feel like we needed to upgrade after all. Daily maid service which did well and cleaned nicely. desserts were amazing in the buffet Staff all friendly especially those in the main buffet restaurant great location- near a lovely (public) beach, shops, bars, restaurants and towns although an hour from airport Bad Points: my fiancee had a piece of chicken from the grill which was extremely uncooked. luckily he saw and didnt eat it. evening entertainment-hard to get a seat most nights, only once did we actually get one and that was because it was the world cup final and everyone in the bar we chose to have a meal at the sister hotel (safari) across the road in the tex mex country grill and were dissapointed and wished we didnt- we arrived well in time but told immediately they were closing soon and to grab what we wanted to eat, whilst i was getting a scoop of ice cream for my daughters dessert a member of the restauant came over and turned off the dessert tables lights and cleared everything away around me (we were still within the opening hours but happened to be last people in there), the food was nice but no different than the hotels buffet just less choice so we weren't impressed with it. Overall it was a great family hotel which was immaculately clean everywhere and very reasonably priced, a few bad points but none (except chicken if eaten) that effected us. would recommendMore

Well here we are again!!
We so enjoyed our stay last year that we were concerned about this visit. Why worry? Our suite was superb - certainly NO problems about house keeping. Very high standards maintained throughout our stay. Marvellous food (and we are PICKY) and so much to do ..... or just relax. The amazing staff, and their attentiveness, makes for a wonderful stay. We shall certainly return next year..... if our children and grandchildren ask us. Just can't wait! Thank you so much.More

Classy Classy Hotel - BOOK IT
We (a couple with two teenage boys) are just back from a week in this hotel and can only recommend that if you are considering this hotel as a holiday option, that you stop considering and simply book it. The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are clearly highly trained and the facilities are all that you require for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Every member of staff that we had dealings with was so cheerful and always willing to help ensure we were having a good time. I have to mention two in particular - Chej, the manager who always has a word for you every day and extremely cheerful and helpful and Rafa (or Sergio Aguero as our boys called him) for his excellent service and sense of humour in the bar area - he and his colleagues did a fantastic job, even under severe pressure on the night of the World Cup Final when the main bar and pool bar areas were so so busy. The rooms are modern, bright and extremely well finished and have everything you need from UK based TV to mini-bar and excellent air-con units. The hotel has free wi-fi throughout but in the rooms we had it was unusable but did work anywhere else we tried it. We booked half board and both the quality and choice of food at breakfast and dinner each day were excellent. As well as having lunch in the pool bar we enjoyed lunches in nearby JJs and Pizzeria Salvator - both were excellent too. We could eat in other restaurants in the resort e.g. the other Protour hotels nearby. I read another review that indicated queuing @ 7:30am to reserve places in the other restaurants - that must have been in some other hotel as in our experience we simply booked the Italian on check-in and a day or so after made a reservation at the Indian Goa restaurant by asking at reception. We enjoyed both, perhaps the Indian meal more than the Italian. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and I fail to understand how anyone could stay at this hotel and not have a great time, so stop considering and simply BOOK IT!More
