This place has undergone a minimalist makeover. The revamp comes to the fore in the bedrooms. Accessorised with jewel-hued cushions, trendy headboards and flatscreen TVs, they’re funky in a low-key way. The lobby is an eye-opener, too. It’s a symphony of glass and marble graced with plush sofas and furnishings.
But of course, the décor is only part of the picture. There are the facilities to consider as well. The hotel is part of the bigger Club Protur Sa Coma Resort so, as a guest, you’ve got the pick of quite a range. The biggest draw has to be the Biomar spa which is definitely worth paying a bit extra for. This haven of tranquillity and treatments revolves around saunas, Turkish baths and a pool with water fountains.
It’s all about options when it comes to food, too. Meals are served buffet-style in the main restaurant, and you’ve got plenty of choice elsewhere within the complex. Head to Sa Bodega eatery for tapas, or La Fontana for Italian. And, although it’s not part of the hotel, there’s a Michelin-starred restaurant right next door serving up world-class cuisine – it’s well worth splashing out.
Last but not least is the location. Set along a tree-lined road, the Protur’s a five-minute walk from Sa Coma beach. The town centre is just a little further - 10 minutes or so.

Great for young families!
Me and my family stayed at this hotel in August 2013. We booked two twin rooms which happened to be on the third floor. The rooms were great with brilliant air conditioning and a lovely bathroom. The staff at the hotel were lovely, polite and one of the reasons so many of the other guests we spoke to were recurring faces. The buffet was excellent. Perfect for fussy and adventurous eaters alike with no need to stress about booking into a restaurant - in my opinion it isn't worth it. The pool however, was littered with towels before breakfast had even began which apparently was not permitted by the hotel but nobody seemed to care. This meant that we had to get up early to find sun beds and look on as so many poor people couldn't sit down as other guests weren't turning up until the afternoon. The pools tended to be on the cool side and there seemed to be a lot of chlorine in the pool which started to irritate after a while. At peak times the pool was extremely crowded with people including myself being kicked in numerous places per day. The drinks were on the pricey side for those who are full board but there are many shops down the road with chap water and snacks which are very easy to sneak into the hotel. The beach is lovely for a walk, the spa is great and there are plenty of excursions I sadly missed out on but overall, you shouldn't get bored. On the whole if your not big swimmer then you'll love this place!More

Top of the range hotel at the most friendliest hotel we've ever stayed in
We have stayed in this hotel every summer since our daughter was born in 2009. In July 2013, we returned yet again with the addition of our 10 month old twin boys. You will see our earlier review for that visit which was truly memorable. We were lucky enough to go back again that year at the end of August for a further 9 days, only 6 weeks after we had left and gone home! It had been such a special holiday for us, made so by Chej and Juan (the hotel manager and his deputy) and ALL the staff from cleaners to head barman that we could not bear the thought of not spending time there for a whole year! I would have written the review earlier but Tripadvisor rules do not allow a second review of the same hotel within 3 months, even if you have visited it twice within that period. Anyway, again, we had a truly amazing holiday. We thought services may have been affected due to it being within the 6 weeks summer school holiday period but services were totally unaffected and everything was smooth and enjoyable as it has always been. Our boys were a little unwell whilst we were there and the management team, could not have done anything more for us, they bent over backwards. They made personal visits to our room, arranged for the head chef to prepare special meals etc and ensured we had everything we needed with regular visits to find us by the pool or wherever we may have been in the hotel grounds. The services are first class here, the rooms are spacious, modern and immaculate, the food is fresh, tasty, varied and the location is peaceful, making for some lovely walks. There is no doubt that the staff are what make this hotel as great as it is. They are overwhelmingly friendly and sincere. They know us all by name and not just us, I hear it with the other guests too and virtually everyone you meet has been there time and time again. I almost don't want to write any reviews as we don't want our little secret getting out about this little gem! Needless to say, we booked for this summer as soon as we got home and are counting the weeks until we return. You will not be disappointed, the Sa Coma, ticks all the boxes and this is because of how magnificently it is run by the manager, Chej. See you in July!!!More

This was our second visit to the Protur Sa Coma, the last one being in July 2012 when we basically fell in love with the hotel and the facilities. This time we went during October half term and it was a very different experience but also wonderful. The weather was much cooler, which meant I didn't go into the outdoor pool however this didn't put off my daughter who still went in there for the first few days. The food was still lovely as before and the evening entertainment was also very nice. We went all inclusive and choose to upgrade to a select room which means you get a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The room was beautiful. We also received beautiful flowers and champagne in the room as a gift. All in all it was heaven and felt like a well deserved rest from all the housework and routines of full time work to have everything cooked for you and no cleaning! I would be interested in visiting at another time of year as it was the end of the season, for example during the May half term. I would also be interested in visiting other Protur hotels as they certainly know how to do good service. All the staff were so friendly and polite as before. All in all, a great time and we are so sad to leave. What would make this a perfect venue would be room service. The children's cocktails were a huge hit with my daughter.More

Don't even consider going to this hotel - Part 2.
If you read our previous review you will know what we thought of this hotel in 2012. We tried to keep this little gem to ourselves (as you can see from the title) but we failed miserably and people just keep booking, there will be no room for us shortly. We visited for the second time in October 2013, and as we all know most second visits don't always meet up with expectations, but this can't be said of the Sa Coma Playa, it felt like we had never been away, even the management and staff were the same. We were greeted like old friends by various members of Management and staff who remembered us from last year, even met quite a few returning guests from the previous year, doesn't this speak volumes. Chej one of the managers, was not working on the day we arrived. When he came into the dining room on our second day he immediately greeted us at our table and asked if we were pleased with our room. We said the only thing that would make it better was a sun bed on the balcony as my wife is disabled. His immediate reaction - "There will be sun beds on your balcony when you have finished your dinner" and guess what, when we were leaving the dining room at 10.00 pm Chej said "sun beds are on your balcony" and they were. Juan the other manager even remembered that it had rained the previous year when we had visited a show and his family had been there, I know it doesn't rain that much in Spain but this was ridiculous, what sort of memory do these managers have. Miguel in the bar (who we consider to be a mini Chej in the making) was exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful especially to my wife who struggles to walk, again nothing was too much trouble he is just brilliant. Yet again, cleanliness cannot be faulted, service cannot be faulted, food cannot be faulted, we are starting to get boring now but that's just how good it is, and we give full credit for this to the atmosphere created by the 'Brilliant' management and staff. From Chej, the figure head, to Juan, the engine, (as we all know, all ships need a figure head and an engine and these two do this superbly) you can not buy this with a pay check, only with commitment to be the best. Chej and Juan make a fabulous combination both work seamlessly together with obvious loyalty and respect for all their team who work with them (not for them). Both of them seem totally at ease and happy to contribute to any aspect of the smooth running of this well oiled machine. The entire experience of excellence, fostered throughout the unit, from top to bottom, showing loyalty, respect and commitment to their guests, it doesn’t get any better than this. We even looked at the 5 star out of curiosity, as we were looking to book the playa for 2014 and the 5 star was showing at a cheaper price. The Gran 5* had no atmosphere, it was cold and clinical and definitely not for us - even at a cheaper price if you wish to say you have stayed in a 5* (this would be OK) if you want a fabulous holiday with great atmosphere, a staff who’s only aim is to please you go and see Juan and Chej and their team. We have to say Sa Coma is not the prettiest location in the world (the beach has been improved for 2013) we have stayed but it is within easy distance of more lively towns. Having said that, the hotel and the complexes around it make up for it, these hotels are suitable for everyone Go and try for yourself, but please make sure you leave us a room for 2 weeks in October EVERY year.More
We had a fantastic few days here at the end of October. This was not our first visit and, as on previous occasions, we were not disappointed. There are several things that make this hotel stand out and have led us to return many times. First and foremost are the staff who, without exception, are welcoming, friendly and work hard to make sure guests have a great time. Special mention must go to the managers, Chej and Juan, who provide an almost constant presence and who set the tone for the rest of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and we have always felt that they really do care about providing fantastic service. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere, from the bedrooms to the public areas and the pool area. The restaurant offers a wide choice and, as one of our party has coeliac disease, special dietary arrangements were made and the chef couldn't have been more helpful in pointing out which foods were suitable and offering to cook special dishes. I have no doubt that we will return next year - and the following year as well!More
