Hotel Pollentia

This whitewashed hotel is just across from the beach and close to bus routes that open up Majorca’s north and northwest coasts.

From the front steps of the Hotel Pollentia, you can take in the Bay of Pollensa, where white sands gives way to the Balearic Sea. Expand your line of vision and you’ll see the masts of the yachts in Port de Pollensa marina, a kilometre along the coast, and the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range in the distance.

The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the main square in Puerto Pollensa, which is orbited by almost 100 cafés, bars and restaurants. It’s about the same distance to The Pine Walk, a promenade where locals stroll in the evenings. There are a number of bus stops a few metres from the hotel and there’s a bus timetable in reception, where you can check your routes.

Behind the hotel’s whitewashed walls there are 70 bedrooms, spread over several floors. The décor in the rooms is typically Spanish, with tiled floors and dark-wood furniture, while blue bedspreads and velvet bucket chairs add splashes of colour.

Outside, you'll find a swimming pool. It's set in a sunny terrace, and edged by smart navy-blue loungers and ivory umbrellas. There's a paddling pool for children, too.

Expect international cuisine in the buffet restaurant. It's got a terrace area, where the tables look out over the sea. The hotel bar also has a sea-view terrace, with comfy wicker chairs, and it puts on regular evening entertainment.

great holiday

We have just returned from an excellent week staying at this hotel, the whole experience was really great. First of all, the staff were fantastic, really welcoming, great with the kids. Big thanks to all of the waiting staff, Francesco, Jesus, both of the ladies and especially Jamie Oliver, they were all brilliant. The reception staff were friendly, well informed and really helpful. This hotel is in a superb location, right on the beach at the slightly less busy end of the port de Pollenca which suited us as a family just fine. We were big fans of the evening meals and breakfasts, they had a real variety of different food, both local and more familiar, definitely not the burger and chips type fare. The rooms were really spacious and clean, and as the hotel is not super massive it was really handy to get to our room if we needed something whilst on the beach- the value of being able to do this when you have kids with you cannot be underestimated! They have a small pool out the back, which is nice after a hot day on the beach. Overall, really recommend it. This was our first time here, now we are already looking forward to returning next year. Thanks so much!More

Lovely Holiday

4 of us stayed here in August 2015. We were greeted by very friendly staff, and although we arrived early, our rooms were ready for us. The main selling point of this hotel are the views and its location. It is right on the beach front with views of Port de Pollenca and the mountains. The terrace is beautiful. The hotel has a lot around it, although its around a 10-15 min walk to the main square. The rooms are a decent size, but need updating and are a bit dark. A 'double' room are 2 singles pushed together, as you would expect for most of Europe. Our room (304) had a balcony which was very small and only big enough for one person to sit on, but did the job for airing towels etc. The pool area was small, but decent and clean. The beach is sandy, not rocky and is lovely! We noticed a smell in our room, from the air con I think, which smelt like rotten eggs. we smelt it 2-3 times throughout the week, but it went as quickly as it came and didn't think much of it. The food from the snack menu is really nice, along with breakfast, however the evening meal is not good. Not much of a selection and just generally not appetising at all. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel puts on 'entertainment' around 3 times a week...I think. (we didn't stay to watch) however, I am sure this is great for some people. Free wifi throughout the hotel, but it isn't very fast. Overall this is a nice hotel and the pros outweigh the cons. I would stay again, but only on a b&b basis.More

Quaint is the word !!!! Love it ;-)

This should not be a good review...but it is !!! Peoples' Expectations in general have risen, & the least of these is to have a balcony..especially in the Mediterrean.. need a bit of privacy, a bit of outdoor space, a place to dry out wet towels/swimsuits etc. Plenty large, impersonal hotels, especially in Alcudia, provide this. However, I like Puerto Pollensa. Travelling solo, & the hotel was busy, only option was a single room, with a single bed, without a balcony, & I must add, nor was it particularly cheap, at £65 a night, for half board. However, I was quickly enchanted, & understand why there are so many returnees. The location is excellent, facing the long sandy beach. My room was basic, to say the least.. single bed, no fridge, no hairdryer. Very small. And no balcony. The outside terrace is lovely, with beautiful sea & mountain views. It is up a flight of stairs, & there are lovely peaceful gardens with pleasant shaded seating areas on sea level below. It is this environment that justifies the price tag??? For same price, All Inclusive 4 star is available in Alcudia, or the awful ( in my opinion) Fergus 4*hotel close by this hotel, with all day noise & "entertainment". Each to their own. This hotel is small, its ambience friendly. Staff were more than welcoming; they were genuinely warm, from reception, to bar/ restaurant , & room cleaning staff, who appeared happy & content at their work. I found the quality of the food to be very good, my only slight criticism would be lack of vegetables at dinner... only one vegetable dish, which appeared to be cooked frozen veg ?? Anyway, if you like small & friendly, this is a lovely hotel. It is olde -wordly, quaint, with old classic traditional-style furniture in the common areas, like entering a 1950/70's movie, but with modern twists, like great showers, air-conditioning, & excellent free wifi throughout. Can't explain it properly, but I love it !! ;-)More

Wonderful beyond our dreams

We have had best experience and a truly wonderful holiday. Hot weather and a clean environment both within the hotel and and surrounding area. The beach was superb and we have not a complaint or upset about time in Mallorca . The hotel is 1st class the staff are 1st class the rooms are 1st class the food not only at breakfast but evening buffet is 1st class. Friends we met return year after year (One pair returned again making it their 20 year in a row) I am converted and will return to a stunning second home called Port de Pollenca.More

Please improve the evening meal!

Pros Fantastic location Wonderfully clean Lovely little pool Decent entertainment Helpful reception staff Excellent cleaning staff Efficient waiting staff Free wifi Cons Food very much hit or miss Rooms need updated Overall Having visited many times previously this hotel is overall very good the beach access and views are worth it alone. The staff work very hard to make your holiday enjoyable. Times change and with it standards in terms of food quality which is most definitely not what it used to be. I personally felt there was too much use of what seemed pre-packed/processed or frozen foods as I say just my opinion. That said I would definitely use again but for bed and breakfast only.More
