Hotel Pollentia

The whitewashed Hotel Pollentia is just across from the beach and close to bus routes that open up Majorca’s north and north-west coasts.

From Hotel Pollentia you can take in the Bay of Pollensa, where white sands give way to the sea. Cast your eyes further afield, and you’ll also glimpse Puerto Pollensa marina and the mountains.

Behind the hotel’s whitewashed walls are 70 bedrooms spread over several floors. It’s all just a 20-minute walk from the main square in Puerto Pollensa. This hotel is part of the Simply Travel collection until April 2017. It will then join our Small & Friendly range – home to holidays with an authentic and intimate feel.

Too early visit.

Visited first week summer opening, think bit too early in season as weather cold, raining. Locals said coldest winter they had for ages but climate change is what it is! Fantastic staff all so friendly and helpful especially reception. As no rep at hotel. The board up on wall needs to have departure times on, even if it's an email to hotel and they put time on board. If you don't take a mobile with you, you will not know what time of transfer to airport. Reception tried to get a pick up time and had difficulty getting phone numbers/ time and she was in the correct language so we stood no chance!!! After texts to helpline we did eventually get a time & porter was given job of opening up dining room for our early breakfast- many thanks! Breakfast normally good with lots of choice. Evening meal we were disappointed with as no cooked meats or tuna for a salad or hors d'oeuvres. All food well presented on slate trays. Ice cream not kept cold enough as not solid like the butter or margarine!! The buses no longer run across main road outside hotel as one way up to marina/ town. All new pavements have just about finished this week and more improvements going on winter 2016/17. Bus stops are now back of town 30 min walk from hotel. Or you can go to the back of Pollensa Park hotel and catch bus which we did to visit Alcudia. €1.50 to port bit dearer further along you go. Old town Pollensa is €1.50 too or taxi €11. Locals said its ruined the tourists visiting as buses not running at main seafront. Old style hotel, lobby & rooms with very small bathrooms. More blankets are available as we were very cold and no heating is on. As old French doors to our prom facing rooms these do not close properly and draughty. Next room said they wedged suitcases to stop draughts. Charity shop in town does have 4 hot water bottles which if we found earlier would have bought as never been so cold abroad! Repair to shower head was done quickly when we reported it. Thank you. Hotel areas all immaculate and plenty of seating outside if warm enough. No entertainment at hotel certain days you can go to sister hotel down the road at Hotel Uyal. Perfect situation for beach and flat walking or cycling about.More

Mixed bag

The hotel has lovely staff and the public areas have been refurbished well. However the rooms in the original part of the hotel are in need of refurbishment. Noisy, cracked tiles on the floor, wardrobes that are too short to hang a dress and beds too short for a man just over 6 foot. The shower was excellent and the room was clean. There are no mosquito nets so beware! The one night we left our window open we had an early hours hunt and a number of bites! The hotels best feature is its location which is superb and opening your blinds each morning to the sight of the beach bay and mountains is superb. the food (we were half board) was variable, but its location and staff made it a good stay.More

Kath R,

Perfectly situated

Really nice setting. Hotel is perfect, not a sprawling high-rise. Perfect setting overlooking the beach. Book a balcony when staying here, its really worth it. All staff really nice and couldn't do enough to make our stay welcome. Manager and Staff are genuinely interested in your comfort. Jesus gave good advice on what areas to visit on the local buses. Local bus is only €1.50 each way to local destinations. Temperature was unusually cold for time of year, but staff even gave us a heater for the cool nights. Breakfast were really good and dinner was a good variety. This hotel is better than some 4and5 star ones we have stayed at. Would definitely be on my list to come back. As many other guests we spoke to also come back. More

This was our second visit to the Pollentia. It is a lovely hotel with great staff and in a great location. We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the bay. A lovely treat before returning to winter in Scotland!More
