Hotel Pollentia

This whitewashed hotel is just across from the beach and close to bus routes that open up Majorca’s north and northwest coasts.

From the front steps of the Hotel Pollentia, you can take in the Bay of Pollensa, where white sands gives way to the Balearic Sea. Expand your line of vision and you’ll see the masts of the yachts in Port de Pollensa marina, a kilometre along the coast, and the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range in the distance.

The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the main square in Puerto Pollensa, which is orbited by almost 100 cafés, bars and restaurants. It’s about the same distance to The Pine Walk, a promenade where locals stroll in the evenings. There are a number of bus stops a few metres from the hotel and there’s a bus timetable in reception, where you can check your routes.

Behind the hotel’s whitewashed walls there are 70 bedrooms, spread over several floors. The décor in the rooms is typically Spanish, with tiled floors and dark-wood furniture, while blue bedspreads and velvet bucket chairs add splashes of colour.

Outside, you'll find a swimming pool. It's set in a sunny terrace, and edged by smart navy-blue loungers and ivory umbrellas. There's a paddling pool for children, too.

Expect international cuisine in the buffet restaurant. It's got a terrace area, where the tables look out over the sea. The hotel bar also has a sea-view terrace, with comfy wicker chairs, and it puts on regular evening entertainment.

honest oppinion from a regular visitor

Ok lets all appreciate this is a 3 star hotel !! I have stayed here June and July for the past few years and twice also in September too so know the set up pretty well. For a my friend (In June) and me, then my husband (July/September) its become quite a special holiday simply because we love the character and ambience this hotel offers. The staff are great, very relaxed and friendly. We always book a room with a sea view and request a balcony and have never been disappointed. One has to pay extra for a sea view AND also request a balcony otherwise you will given a room at the back of which non have balconies. Many visitors are returning guests and are now aware of this. The Pollentia sits in a perfect location, and from the impressive raised terrace you have a view to die for as the beautiful Med plays host to colourful sailing boats and yachts. Now for us, these are the negatives ........... the rooms do need a face lift, they look a bit fed-up !!!!! so a lick of paint, some new curtains and bedspreads would be nice and EVERYONE agrees. We've had problems with the water system occasionally and that can be most annoying, I really think it needs sorting because its a basic necessity and hopefully that would sort the occasional ....not very nice smell !!! Now food ............ well I like my OWN food....I'm fussy and because the hotel is only 3 star, that's basically what you get, some people think its great so depends on your taste I guess. Because of the location, wonderful staff, easy relaxing atmosphere, we shall be booking again for next year, its kind of like visiting an old friend !!!! The Hotel Pollentia simply draws you back year after year. Hey.......fingers crossed for a new bedroom !!!! Jacqueline Fairhurst AtkinsonMore

Hoposa pollentia hotel

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Service, cleanliness and food all excellent. We went B&B and the breakfasts were very good with lots of choice. Cooked breakfast, cereal, bread, cakes, fruit and yoghurt. Would recommend this hotel and the beach across the road was beautiful. 2 sunloungers and parasol was €13 per day which was expensive compared to other European countries we've been to. We went into many different restaurants for our evening meals, which were very reasonably priced. Our most expensive meal was at the Indian but we'll worth the money. We went into alcudia. Mmm... Blackpool on speed! Went swimming in the non tidal sea. Horrible! Seaweed decomposing on sea bed. Stank and my real silver bangle turned brown! Wasn't impressed at all! Bought some tin foil and dipped them in hot water and salt which brought them back to silver. Old walled city very nice and Formentor equally. Went to Son Amar show. Fantastic! Palms Bar owned by an english couple is a nice place to go for entertainment. More

Friendly hotel

yet again we had a lovely stay at the Hoposa Pollentia Hotel. All the staff are very friendly and the cleaners are wonderful we love staying here. The only complaint we have is the bathrooms are desperately in need of up grading, a walk in shower would be a great help. I am sure we will return again next year.More

This hotel, from the front outside and in is lovely, just across the road from the beach, the staff are the best,so helpful and friendly, always smiling, when we arrived to our room, top floor very. Small,so asked if we could change, which they did no problem ,the only hiccup ,was the water kept going of and dripping through our ceiling when the people above us had a shower, not a lot but enough to move the beds, just in case, when told they did there best to sort it,also. The food not that great, breakfast really good ,rooms need updating ,we were at the back of hotel,no balcony,so next time would ask for front with balcony, yes we will go back, the staff make This hotel very special.More

Port de Pallensa Pollentia Hospa

Standard rooms were out dated desperately needed refurbishment and updating. Our First two nights were spent in a supposedly double room but clearly a single small cramped bathroom and room where moving was difficult . No space for suite cases or hanging up swim ware or beach towels. Eventually after complaining we were moved . The receptionist on the day of arrival was excellent but the others were satisfactory to poor. Breakfast had a good variety of satisfactory food but the queue for the coffee machines often only one worked and the end product was poor . The water made terrible tea from the basic tea bags. I was awaiting a hernia operation and my wife was offered no help with bags up the grand flight of steps to the front door . We loved the resort and area and many delightful people but would not return to the hotel . ( I am very happy with basic accommodation and often us F 1 Hotels even as a base for skiing so do not have unrealistic expectations)More
