This whitewashed hotel is just across from the beach and close to bus routes that open up Majorca’s north and northwest coasts.
From the front steps of the Hotel Pollentia, you can take in the Bay of Pollensa, where white sands gives way to the Balearic Sea. Expand your line of vision and you’ll see the masts of the yachts in Port de Pollensa marina, a kilometre along the coast, and the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range in the distance.
The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the main square in Puerto Pollensa, which is orbited by almost 100 cafés, bars and restaurants. It’s about the same distance to The Pine Walk, a promenade where locals stroll in the evenings. There are a number of bus stops a few metres from the hotel and there’s a bus timetable in reception, where you can check your routes.
Behind the hotel’s whitewashed walls there are 70 bedrooms, spread over several floors. The décor in the rooms is typically Spanish, with tiled floors and dark-wood furniture, while blue bedspreads and velvet bucket chairs add splashes of colour.
Outside, you'll find a swimming pool. It's set in a sunny terrace, and edged by smart navy-blue loungers and ivory umbrellas. There's a paddling pool for children, too.
Expect international cuisine in the buffet restaurant. It's got a terrace area, where the tables look out over the sea. The hotel bar also has a sea-view terrace, with comfy wicker chairs, and it puts on regular evening entertainment.
We arrived at this hotel at the end of august 2014, unfortunately for a 14 night stay. We new
we would not have a balcony, but our agent had emailed requesting an upgrade and to ask when we arrived for a sea view also. We where told point blank at reception this was not possible
and we have read on trip adviser that some one had booked after us and not only been upgraded
to a sea but provided with a fridge free of charge. Obviously they cannot be bothered to take note
of peoples requests. The food is of a very poor standard, same old same old. Very poor choice of
menu unless you like salad or chips. We ate out on a few occasions to get a decent meal. The rooms are dinghy, cramped and outdated, if you are unfortunate to be at the back. You will have no balcony, look out onto a dirty track and a added feature of the hotel bins. The cleaning staff
where very friendly and kept the rooms spotless. The resort is lovely, pity about this hotel, I can't
imagine why people keep coming back. We certainly will not.More

Very comfortable stay in a hotel with character. Jk
Stayed for a short (2 night) break and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel has many plus features including location, staff, general ambience and the food.
The hotel is across the main coast road from the beech. Very convenient and a picturesque view from the balcony. The road noise was not intrusive, despite the absence of modern double glazing. If you don't want to go to the beach, there is a small pool at the hotel which is nicely shaded in places.
Rooms are relatively small. However, they are spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Room facilities are limited- hair drier is available from reception and not in the room. Similarly, iron and ironing board is available from reception. The in- room safe is only available as an extra with a key available from reception ( cost for two nights was 8 euros including a 3 euro returnable deposit). WiFi worked perfectly throughout the hotel , including the in the room .
The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a good selection. It was well replenished by the staff. Moving here from a five star hotel , we felt the breakfast at the Pollentia was at least as good if not better. Similarly, the evening buffet exceeded expectations. The food was certainly superior to that expected from a 3 star. Wine selection was good and not pricey. Restaurant staff were friendly and professional. They could not be faulted.
The reception, lounge, bar area, terrace and grounds were great areas to relax with a drink and one could always find a quiet area Furnishings were more traditional than more modern hotels. This gives rise to a unique character. One felt one was in Spain and not in an anonymous multi-national hotel.
Overall, a very pleasant stay. A smallish hotel with character having friendly staff and good food . Hope to stay here in the future.

Unrivalled location, wonderful staff, good value for money
You would have to go a long way to better the location of this hotel. I can understand other comments about the rooms needing upgrading, but come on, you don't pay the rates that other higher rated hotels charge in and around the the area. The rooms are spotless, the wonderful cleaning staff are always there making sure that all areas are kept neat and tidy, especially clearing away sand and wet areas brought in by inconsiderate guests, maybe a notice at the entrance would be of benefit, but then again, it can also be ignored!
The breakfasts are beautifully set out, freshly cut fruit, yogurts, lots of choices of breads, cereals, jams (and catering for the diabetic), cooked breakfast as much as you want, fruit juices and self-service teas and coffees. Evening meals were lovely, plenty of choice, the chef does a great job, he's so pleased when he's given praise. The restaurant staff are so friendly and attentive too, even at their busiest times. Bar prices were quite good too, I would recommend trying a local gin called Larios, so nice with Nordic mist tonic! If you are looking for a "good bet" holiday at reasonable prices in a terrific place, look no further and book the Pollentia. A special mention must go to Tomeus on reception, brilliant! Also, Maria Gracia in the restaurant, always has a lovely smile and greeting for you, they are all so good.More
