Villa Son Marc

in Pollensa , Majorca

This newly built, beautiful, stone-clad, single storey villa is located in a delightful countryside location just on the outskirts of the old town of Pollensa. Decorated in bright colours with cool tiled floors and modern furnishings, this delightful villa has a large furnished terrace with views of a pretty garden, large swimming pool and mountain backdrop. Spacious and comfortable, this villa is ideal for families. Although this villa is a little farther out from Pollensa, it's so enchanting you will not want to move from the pool.

If you want to do a spot of sightseeing, Pollensa old town has a museum and a Tibetan sand painting given by the Dalai Lama in 1990. Try the cosmopolitan Sunday morning market which has everything from bags and shoes, to fat sun ripe melons or local craft stalls leading off the market square. Have a Majorcan breakfast of milky coffee with a ensaimada (pastry) in one of the many bars while surveying the busy market square.

Your guide to Pollensa, Majorca

"Set between the hills of El Calvari and Puig de Pollensa, the historic town of Pollensa is an excellent base for exploring northern Majorca."

Pollensa is one of the most memorable places in Majorca. Partly, this is thanks to the spectacular landscape around it, where the land and sea meet at the end of the mighty mountain range. It is also, however, due to its architecture, festivals, culture and unmistakeable local atmosphere. At the centre of this charming town is the Plaza Major. With its cafés and restaurants, the square is the soul of the town, especially on Sunday mornings during the weekly market. Beyond it are narrow medieval streets, Baroque churches, Gothic chapels and even a Roman bridge. Climb the 365 stone steps to the chapel atop El Calvari and you’ll be rewarded with splendid views of the northernmost tip of the island. Survive the longer journey to the 18th century hermitage on top of Puig de Maria and you can stay the night. Take the short trip to the coast and the delights of the quiet, sheltered resort of Puerto Pollensa await.
