Villa Cristi

If you're seeking a rural retreat for a large family or group of friends, the Cristi is perfect. Sitting in gorgeous green grounds, this traditional-style villa is in fact, two individual properties. With a spacious floor each and a separate entrance, their layout is identical. Step inside and you'll find bright, modern rooms with light pine furnishings. Yet there are also traditional touches such as whitewashed walls and ochre-coloured floor tiles. At the heart of each villa is an open-plan lounge and dining room with extras like a television and CD player, both spill out on to large terraces. The lower one steps out on to the gardens, and the upper terrace enjoys picturesque views. There's also a separate kitchen with mod cons like a washing machine. And three restful bedrooms with classic Mallorcan blue printed bed linen.

Step outside and you'll find the shared pool and grounds. Sunk into a pretty patio, it's flanked by sun loungers and parasols so is the perfect spot to put your feet up. And if you want to get away from the splashes, stretch out on the cool, manicured lawns that are sprinkled with swishing trees and potted plants. There's a built-in barbeque if you fancy throwing on some of the local seafood or fish and an outdoor dining table for al fresco meals. You'll also find a handy open-air shower by the pool. If you fancy getting out and about, there are plenty of places to head. Hop in the car and you can be in the lively seaside resorts of Alcudia and Puerto Pollenca in about ten minutes. Both of which have golden beaches and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Or have a meander around the traditional town of Pollensa where you'll find several art galleries and a twice weekly market.
