Aparthotel Alcudia Pins

Families have it covered at this beachside hotel, with its children’s splash park and choice of pools.

Water plays a big part at this hotel. It’s right by the sea, plus there are 2 pools, including a big, lake-style number. There’s a children’s splash park, too. On the dining front, there are 4 restaurants, including a tapas place.

This aparthotel is right on a golden-sand beach. The nearest bars and restaurants are less than a 5-minute walk away, and it’s about the same time in a taxi to C’an Picafort’s main drag.

Excellent holiday 2014!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel from 28/08/14 -11/09/14. Myself, my husband and 3 children, aged 15yrs,5yrs,& 4yrs booked to come here a year in advance. Our 23yr old daughter & her boyfriend booked separately in January. Having read alot of reviews on here, we were dubious about whether we had made the right choice!!! This was our 1st holiday in 9yrs!!!! We were not disappointed!! Everything from airport check in to arrival at resort went smoothly. We emailed the hotel a few times before leaving the UK, to request adjoining rooms for ourselves & our daughter& boyfriend. Joan Ramis Vives, from customer care, was more than helpful, saying he couldn't promise, as we had booked different room types, but would pass on our request to the reservations dept. When we checked into the hotel, we were very happy to find we were just a room apart. We stayed in Formentera (block D) rooms 214 & 212. Both rooms were clean, spacious, with great views of the pool &sea. One very minor gripe, rooms could do with an extra mirror outside of the bathroom!! Even though it was still very busy, we were able to get 6 or 7 sunbeds together, in great locations by the main pool everyday. Its brilliant how the staff remove towels from beds before 10am, gives everyone a fair chance of getting beds to use. The friendly staff came round constantly taking empty beakers & plates, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. We used the main restaurant in the evenings, the green & grill throughout the day. Both have wonderful polite, friendly staff, a vast array of different foods. Even the fussiest of eaters should find something. I've read alot of complaints about food becoming "samey"!!!! The only times I ate the same food more than once, was because I chose to!! All bar staff were very friendly, efficient & polite, a credit to this hotel. The Thompson team work incredibly hard morning, noon, & night trying to entertain all ages. Our children went to most kids clubs, they loved every second. Thomson are very lucky to have this amazing team. We would like to thank, Jonny, Rachel, Sophie, Nic, Olly, Anna, Jess, Megan, Alina, Georgia, &special thanks to Chloe &Tanya, for making our holiday, so memorable, it wouldn't have been the same without them. The hotel also caters for alot of Scandinavian patrons, their entertainment team are called "the blue village", good fun if a little cheesy!! The guys themselves are nice freindly people, Felix, Rebecca,Julia & Kevin. We would definitely return here in a few years, but I know alot of the guys I've mentioned will be moving on to pastures new!!! I would like to wish them every success in future ventures. If you are thinking of coming here but are unsure after reading some negative reviews, just go &see for yourself, you won't be disappointed. We didn't want to leave!!!!!! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. Alcudia pins, you have an amazing team throughout, reception, bar & restaurant, housekeeping, poolside and entertainment, Well done.More

Leanna G,

Excellent hotel,

I have just returned from Alcudia Pins. We went as a party of four adults and a three year old, and we stayed all inclusive. The entertainment for children and adults was very very good, the thomson team were amazing.. The hotel has great facilities with pools for young and old, free wi-fi,table tennis tables, astro turf football pitch and more. You are located literally right next to a really fantastic beach. The restaurant is typical but the food choice and quality were really good, there is another bar/grill conveniently close to the beach with the same high quality food on offer. The drinks were great as were the bar staff. The rooms were standard. There is not alot going on in the hotels surrounding area so I would recommend an all inclusive stay. This is an excellent hotel and I am looking forward to going back.More

Overall a good hotel but let down by little things

After spending 9 days in the hotel we generally had a good time. However a few things let the hotel down. Good things The hotel staff are all excellent and always willing to help or resolve any issues. Check in was great and we were very quickly shown to our room. The reception staff are great and will organise anything from bike and car hire to towels to be used by the pool. The location is great al although we didn't use it the beach looks great and sits right outside the hotel. There is always somewhere to get something to eat between the 3 restaurants. The Pool and communal areas are always clean and tidy and there is always somebody cleaning up and removing the empty glasses. Although the resort is a little secluded from Alcudia there are plenty of busses up to Alcudia. and there are plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel if you want to eat out. The rooms are well equipped with all the basic kitchen equipment and utensils. There are plenty of activities going on in the day from water gym to football and yoga, The Bad bits Although it is cleaned 5 days out of 7 the maids only seemed to do a mediocre job in the room. although they would wash out any glasses, they would remove them back to the bar. After about 5 nights we had accumulated a number of glasses and had to take them to the bar ourselves. The room itself was a little dated and even though it was generally a good size the main bed is crammed into a smaller room with no room to walk around the bed. Basically the bed was the size of the room. The wifi that is advertised is useless. On check-in you get a username and password for it but unless you are in reception you will never get a decent signal. Although there is a wide selection of food at all meals, often we found it to be either just warm or cold. The entertainment team in the evening are terrible really. We found the Thompsons team to be excellent but once they handed over to the on site team it went down hill. The show "Welcome to the Circus" contained no circus tricks at all and only consisted of the team signing and dancing around. We found the evening when the Thompsons team did the whole evening to be much better and accommodated the children and adults. One major concern was that quite often in the evenings there was a strong smell of sewage. This was both in the room and out in the grounds. When I asked a member of staff about this, The reply was that he couldn't fix it and then he walked off. I felt this to be a little rude. There was no apology for it. Overall we had an average holiday but unfortunately wouldn't return to the hotel due to the bits that let it down. A big thank you though to the Thompsons team. They offered help every time we asked and were always chatty and approachable. The arrange us to go to see the pirates adventure which is amazing and definite much see. Sophie who was on the coach with us from Thomson's was great and kept all the kids entertained on the journeyMore

Nice familyhotel

We are a family with two children (aged 11 and 9) who stayed for 10 days at Alcudia Pins in July 2014. The beach at the hotel was wonderful. Beautiful and warm water and great surroundings. The sellers on the beach were quite annoying, though. The swimming pools were very good. The food was great and varied with something for everyone. Dejlig og varieret mad med noget for enhver smag. There are a number of supermarkets in close proximity to the hotel. There is a busstop just outside of the hotel area. We enjoyed our stay at Alcudia Pins.More

just back! 4th to 14th October inclusive.

WHY DO PEOPLE KNOCK THIS LOVELY HOTEL? Excellent for a family holiday, great food, very safe place, lovely atmosphere everywhere, quiet and extremely pleasant. We are a couple 68 and 73 years old, both very well travelled, and felt very much at home in this hotel. We believe there were about 400 little children there, virtually all of whom were a sheer delight to be with. The Management and staff all deserve enormous credit and thanks, for keeping such a tight ship. Everywhere was spotless and with staff happily going about their work, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the evening entertainment! What do some people expect from a 3 star hotel? This was geared to kids mostly and we believe it was as good as you will get for 3 stars. Also with regards to the comments about visitors to Mallorca being put off and never coming back? Some of us have been there many times, we two even lived there for a while and still believe this hotel to be excellent! We booked all inclusive and never ate the same food everyday. Do those complaining of repetitive meals personally have a limited choice of satisfactory foods? Everyday the Chefs would stand and cook fresh food for diners individually, pancakes, omellettes with cheese or ham fillings etc. and fried or scrambled eggs etc for breakfast, steaks, chops, fish fillets and meats for lunch and in the evenings too. There was far too much variety to take in at times, and often we would comment, we had missed the Gamba's, or the whole fresh Salmon, fresh Strawberries or Mussels etc.The wine was good quality with meals, as were ALL ingredients.. Considering how many people were being catered for and looked after at the same time, the cleanliness of the dining rooms and public places was faultless, a very welcome high standard. The standard room bedroom was a bit of a close fit around the bed! anyone with a mobility problem could find this an issue - check before you book. The only mirror in the apartment is in the bathroom and a bit dark, it was a bit hit and miss for make up application . However, comments about drawers and hanging space, we found average and were adequate. Buses were fine with a stop close to the hotel, the drivers speak English. However they do get full, again anyone unable to stand up on a bus for the ten to fifteen minutes to the Harbour or Old town, could get a cheap taxi, for 3 people and over, it worked out cheaper than the bus! Dress code for the hotel is very relaxed, as there are loads of young mums and dads.Hotel requests long trousers for the males for dinner. Generally this is not adhered to. The upside to this, is that the complex is not noisy in the bars as mostly parents are in the apartments with the children by 11 pm. We didn't see any rowdy or unacceptable behaviour from anyone in 10 days. We would have liked somewhere to dance, the kids get it all! We were on the top floor of Ibiza building, room 409 with a pool and a sea view which was very special. We caught the buses a few times, best one is at 9.15 am which is empty and waits outside. Comments have been made about 'weird' vegetables for breakfast? There are Scandinavian guests staying, who mix salads and carrot with Cauliflower for breakfast, people from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, that food selection is for them. We found them all very friendly. Lifts are plentiful and adequate. There are ramps everywhere there are steps. Air conditioning was simple to operate and very efficient. Remarks about not leaving patio doors open due to mosquito's? the air conditioning will not work with patio doors open. Lashings of hot water, fresh towels and a very comfortable bed! There is a useful laundry drying rack on the large balcony. TV has Sky news in English with subtitles. We personally take holidays to have a break from England and home, we welcome different food and drinks and experiences conducive to making a pleasant holiday, live and let live, embrace it all, and this is one hotel where you can really do just that! NOW PACK YOUR BAGS AND GO!! ENJOY!More
