Families have it covered at this beachside hotel, with its children’s splash park and choice of pools.
Water plays a big part at this hotel. It’s right by the sea, plus there are two pools, including a big, lake-style number. There’s a children’s splash park, too. On the dining front, there are 4 restaurants, including a tapas place.
This aparthotel is right on a golden-sand beach. The nearest bars and restaurants are less than a five-minute walk away, and it’s about the same time in a taxi to C’an Picafort’s main drag. And from May 2016, this hotel will become part of the Family Life collection.

Just returned from 7 nights all inclusive at this hotel and having gone with realistic expectations in regard to size of the hotel (598 rooms) and how busy it will be in the first week of the school summer holidays. My wife, my two sons (aged 8 & 6) and myself had a good week, the weather was great. Here are my general observations from the week. The room was well appointed and newly refurbished (we were in H block) with a lounge seating area separate from the boys bunk beds room, compared to a number of hotels we have stayed in the UK this would not have been provided unless you booked a suite. A fridge, kettle and microwave were also provided and the room led out to a large balcony. The air con worked well and we left it on when we left for the pool/beach (leave your spare key card in the power holder) when we returned from the heat it was refreshingly cool. Room servicing was regular and efficient, no issues. The pools were great and the boys spent many hours over the week on the various slides, sun beds were an issue on some days as the hotel was very full and yes there is a frustration looking at sun beds with towels on for many hours when you could not locate one for yourself whilst using the pools but by mid afternoon there were some available. We used the lovely beach in the mornings and returned to the pools after lunch, sad that some people felt it necessary not only to reserve beds for hours without using them but also reserving one for every member of their family including small children, seems a little selfish to me but it is not unique by any means to this hotel. The pools and surrounding areas were kept very clean. The food was good and we ate in all three restaurants on site. The main buffet provided an excellent choice and variation in my opinion. I know some have complained of repetitive menus but we always felt there was sufficient different options during our stay. The waitresses/waiters clearing the tables can be extremely keen to take your plates as you finish but bearing in mind the number of covers they have to get through in a meal sitting it is not surprising to allow the changeover of diners. Although you are given a rota on arrival of when and where you can eat each evening to spread the load, you can go to the buffet restaurant every night as long as it is before 1830. The green and grill was a lovely setting with beach views but the meal choice was reduced slightly due to the restaurant size, we ate there on a couple of allocated evenings and had no problem with the quality of meals some other reviews have mentioned. As we were staying for one week we also could book an evening meal at the Tavern by the sea, this was a tapas although the Tapas was fine to try, the main courses were limited to three choices, but the waiters were polite and pleasant. Beer, soft drinks and bottled water were pretty much available on tap from either the green and grill until 5pm then bottled water soft drinks and alcoholic drinks were available from the show bar. We did not use the kids club and only viewed the entertainment in the early evening as our sons played football in the enclosed football pitch next to the show bar area. As for the entertainment ending around 1030pm I personally think this sufficient as my boys were in bed by then and we then enjoyed our own music and a glass of wine on the balcony. I was surprised when nipping down to the bar for couple of drinks around 11pm how many youngsters (under 4s) were still up running around! We would recommend the hotel if asked, but as our boys have no interest in the kids club etc. we would not return to Alcudia Pins but thanks anyway! I would also recommend using Sun Transfers from the airport and return, convenient, comfortable and courteous. Finally one of the main things that will put us off from returning was not actually anything to do with the hotel, but the airport the way the British flights are hoarded together on arrival and you are held in the arrivals lounge and connecting tunnel (very hot) awaiting the single passport control point to NOT look at your passport! The airport appears not to be able to cope with the demands being put on it.More

Perfect for families
We go on holiday four times a year and i can honestly say this was by far the best holiday and the staff were the most proffessional and interactive then any other hotel we have stopped in. For the first time ever we felt safe enough to allow our son to stay on his own in the play nursery and he loved it! The team were amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with children of all ages as there is things going for all ages. Thankyou for a fab holiday and will defo be coming back next year xxMore

The good stuff outweighs the bad!
in summary.....Great hotel, good location, food on the whole was very good, rooms modern....although complex is VERY BUSY. We stayed all inclusive in mid July. There was three of us Mrs K, Ms K (8 year old) and me! We arrived around 2100hrs and the check in was very quite. Check in was well rehearsed. We were given our discount card for the Supermarket (which has everything you need). It was a bit awkward trying to drag suitcases through the sunbathers on sunbeds!. There is a buffet available for people that arrive late which was well received! Our room was modern and functional (although our fridge's ice compartment had a bit of a design fault where due to the way the fridge door opened it stopped the ice compartment door opening!!!!). The bathroom was very dated. My daughter had bunk beds which she loved and there was sliding doors to give her some space. The balcony was spacious and we requested a pool view. Our room overlooked the adult pool and the cabanas and there was a good selection of TV if needed...We were in Menorca Block. As stated in other reviews the hotel has a policy of no beds reserved before 10am. The hotel does have staff 'on patrol' removing towels and personal belongings. This, however, did not prevent a shortage of beds. One previous review stated that the Hotel has expanded too quick and does not have enough room. I agree with this as the hotel does get VERY busy with a shortage of beds and people squeezed in everywhere. One day I noticed that about 75% of beds were un-occupied but were reserved!. If you are looking for a bed, around 4pm is a good time as people start to vacate them. The pools were also very busy, at some times TOO BUSY. The hotel is right on the beach which is very nice and does not get too busy (beware of the pedalos though.....they are a nightmare to steer!!!!! The sea is full of dads trying to hold these things straight!) We found the food VERY good. There was plenty of variety and has to be the best all inclusive dining we have experienced. The Green and Grill gets very very busy although has some good snacks. The main eating place is fantastic. There are lots of 'rules' in this hotel one of which includes designated eating places. Because of this we did not wait to be seated for evening meals. There was only one night we found the food below standard and decided to eat outside the complex. The Tavern on the Sea was amazing. The Tapas was delicious and the mains were just as nice. The staff work tirelessly. The pools were clean and maintainance was continuous. Although a good range of drinks are available with all inclusive, the beer tended to be slightly warm (when pouring the self service beer make sure that you open the tap fully or you will get a cup full of foam!). The hotel needs to open another bar as the queues sometimes were too long. The soft drinks were also usually warm and flat! The entertainment was a bit rubbish and trying to get a seat in this busy area was a nightmare! There is not much to do round about the hotel although there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. C'an Pica Fort is only 5 mins away (on the bus) and was good for a visit and was only 8 euros in a taxi back. The old town in Alcudia is lovely (in the other direction) and a good bit further along the same road is Puerto Pollenca which is well worth a visit. Overall this was a great holiday.......The hotel is just far too busy which stopped me giving the VERY GOOD rating.More

Honest family review
Stayed here from 11th of July for one week all inclusive First impressions of frontage of hotel was a little disappointing from previous hotels we have stayed in, but once inside and walked into grounds we were pleased . Nice main pool, kids pool, quiet shaded pool and another quieter pool so a good choice. Apartments inside were lovely and modern and my 4 year old loved the bunk beds . English channels on Tv a great bonus , CBeebies etc Good points Location right on doorstep of lovely beach Thomson kids clubs very professional and trustworthy to leave your little one with Special mention to Jenny who was lovely . Lots of Thomson staff about and always happy to help Alcohol was I thought not bad at all and I felt like I'd had a drink each night . Gin and tonics were my favourite All staff on reception were friendly and happy to help I'm not got to list bad points , I'll say Things I feel either need to change or be improved This is a family resort most people have kids and parasols / umbrella s are a must to keep little ones in the shade , it was 36 degrees when we were there !!!!this is poor by the hotel and needs to change quickly , no where near enough When I go on holiday I don't want to be told were and when I can eat : if you stay for a week your only aloud to eat in main restaurant every other night , and you have to eat in the green and grill otherwise , this is by the beach were you eat during the day , so an hour or so before your sitting in your smart evening wear people have been sat in there beach wear , just didn't feel right and being outside with only canopies for shade it did get quite hot. Food Stayed all over the world in AI hotels and main restaurant was ok for a week in my opinion , lots of choice and enough to keep everybody happy The green and grill served prob 50% less choice than main restaurant from what I could see , and my wife who is vegetarian struggled to find a good choice on a couple of occasions , and before a reply says u should have asked the chef , I shouldn't have too ! Hotel does this as main restaurant can't cope with amount of guests, but this isn't my fault and to be told when you get to the door and asked for your room number no you cant eat here tonight in main restaurant was a little annoying , I'm all inclusive and should really be allowed to eat in any of the all inclusive food areas I wanted to . The hotel was full yet there was unused fully equipped bar areas closed that could Be used as another option of evening entertainment , ie back ground music and drinks, wouldn't have to be anything to loud just not everybody wants to watch the shows , instead only one area for entertainment which finished each night at 10.30 pm , you could drink till midnight in the dark outside with no music or any other options of places to drink in , felt like I was being told to go to bed. Entertainment organised by Thomson s, Jonny is a one man show and I thought he was great , all the other shows , my little ones enjoyed but to be honest wasn't to mine or my wife's taste, but kids were happy so we we're too. If your a family your morning will go like this Dad gets up minimum 730 am to secure a bed and brolly around desired area around pool Mum then joins you with kids and you take it turns to go to breakfast as you cannot leave your bed s as towels will be removed before 11am if not attended , great idea tho was hard work Lots of fun on pools and slides beach So in general a great hotel with a few niggles that annoyed more than others Hotel constantly being cleaned and maintained Hotel has photographer you can get to take some shots for you , she was lovely and really nice to my kids and a great asset, you hire her at the area by night entertainment Would I come back , I'm 50/50 , the location is lovely by the beach but lack of choice of areas in such a large hotel of a nighttime and being told we're I can eat did make me think mabey I visit another hotel next time Please don't panic if you have booked it really is nice and everybody is different , the hotel does work hard to keep people happy and looks lovely with great kepts gardens and fab pools , just my view of my holiday We did not let our niggles get to us and had a lovely family holiday in the sun next to a lovely beach , I hope alcudia pins takes note of some of my points as many many many people I spoken to did agree and said the same , and we would be back if there was changes All in all thank you alcudia pins and thomsons for a great holiday More
