Hotel Santa Lucia

This beachside hotel comes with great views, a sociable buffet restaurant and a cocktail bar.

The hotel slices the coast between the beaches of Son Matias and Palma Nova, so there’s sand outside and sea views from every room. It’s 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of town, and less than 15 to Magaluf.

The good-sized pool looks out over the sandy beach, and it’s circled by thatched parasols. Food-wise, the buffet restaurant serves some great fish dishes, while a pair of bars covers cocktails and entertainment.

Mandy - Great holiday - good and bad points

Duration of holiday 15th Oct-29th Oct 2014 paid for a few extras as it was my birthday so looking forward to it all ,first impression leaves a lasting impression, on arrival I went straight in to reception to book in while my husband collected the cases off the bus ,there was no one around first one in great, said hello t o a thomson rep lovely straight to the desk where there was an old man in a glass booth fiddling about ,looked over no response put my passports on the desk ,no response a young girl came behind the desk no response from her ok she acknowledged the old man who came out of his glass booth ,still no response to myself right I fiddled in my bag to get other paper work out put that on the desk, here we go there both coming out of the glass booth. I smile go to say hello and they both walk past me toward the end of the desk where a queue has formed while I ve been stood right in front of them waiting.I could not believe it my jaw dropped and I said" excuse me I ve been waiting here I was first " he then says "the queue is here u have to go at the back " I reply " but I was genuinely here first " the woman at he front of the queue said I did not see any one. I m standing there literaly 4feet away from her in a bright pink jumper. I repeat myself and with that a quest already staying there came along side me and told the old man ,this lady was here first I ve been sat in reception and seen here come in and wait for you. the old man then told the young girl something in spanish flung some paper work to her and she gave a grunt .I turned to my left where my husband was standing and I said to him " I cant believe that just happened " he said yes I did just hear it. I said then if thats what they call customer service then I won t be coming here again, that was before I d seen the room hotel or any of it. A couple of the older waitresses should have been prison warders do not know how to crack a smile or give a warm and friendly ola.the hotel was in need of repair they are hoping to finsh there refit by next season. I know it was end of season but they should make sure there is enough bleach for the toilets which all had that brown stain at the bottom of the toilet. Any way on a good note Location/food-excellent. room good same size new furnishings and decor. team Mat and Gemma great good fun. Entertainment was good on the whole depend what you like. ILISROD and MEQUEL Excellent customer service at front end in the restaurant so warm and friendly a pleasure to see them. Also the young lady who was on the grill cooking sorry but I did not see your name , you worked really hard and must work long ours you were always there and very accomedating your pancakes were great, going on my diet now haha. Sorry if I ve spelt your names wrong. Oh by the way the old man on the desk I found out his name after I had been there a week as I avioded any contact with him his name is PEPE I heard a quest calling him ,he did not have a lot of time for him either. Globales please send PEPE back for retraining on his customer service or PEPE have a word with ILISROD and MEQUEL on how to give good customer service. YES by the end of our 2 weeks stay I had left my first impression behind me and had a great time and would definately go back . CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISING hope you take it onboard. mandy p,

holiday in palma nova

we stayed at the santa lucia in october 2014 and first impression was a friendly welcome from reception staff. the hotel was well run and all staff were very friendly. we were in a superior room with excellent views of the beach and palma nova. the food served was very good with always enough variety to satisfy any tastes.the entertainment at night was a hit or a miss with some of the acts very poor but entertainment staff were very good.More

Santa Lucia revisited (Oct 2014)

We arrived at the hotel to a warm and friendly welcome; the efficient reception staff recognised us from previous visits, checking us in and in our room within no time. The fresh bright clean room with spectacular view over the Son Matias beach and bay exceeded expectation. The friendliness carried on into the dinning room and bar areas being remembered by; a number of staff made us feel special. The room maid (floor 8) greeted us every morning in Spanish while making our way down to breakfast, to be amazed by a fantastic selection of dishes (continental and the typical ‘British’). Lunch and Diner was equally varied added to the extensive buffet is show cooking There are opportunities for improvements: the flooring in the indoor pool area is uneven. The ‘all inclusive’ bar services in the evening is very limited. Brian and Jen - DerbyMore

Nice hotel in a great spot

We stayed here in September and had a great time - the food is excellent and the staff in the restaraunt are brilliant - very warm and helpfull! We chose half board and were tempted to upgrade to all inclusive but we are glad we didnt upgrade as we had our lunch on the beach every day!! The beds though are so uncomfortable - we didnt sleep a couple of the nights we were there! The hotel is right on the beach and is close to shops etc so really good location! All of the staff are really friendly at this hotel with the exception of one member of staff - the scottish receptionist - she was rude miserable and very unhelpfull - what a shame to have someone like that working in your hotel when everyone else was really pleasent! Would i go back - yes I would I just hope the receptionist isnt there should I return!More

great holiday, great hotel.

Stayed here from 30th august -9th September 2014 with friends. We had such a great time. The hotel is spotless in all areas. The staff are very friendly and helpful, Jemma and matt also do a great job keeping the guests happy. We were on the 7th floor in a superior room overlooking the pool, the room was very nice and the bed's very comfortable. The views from the balcony were spectacular. We were all inclusive and found this good value even though we went out and about most nights.we spent half the holiday at the beach and the last 5 days at the pool side.never had a problem getting a sun bed.i have stayed several times in palmanova in the last 10 years, the son matias hotel, the sol beach house next door and various other hotels which have all been good, but this is my favorite so far . Also would like to mention the hairdressers in the hotel she is really good. This is one of the best holidays we have had, hope to return next year. Thanks for a great holiday.
