With the knockout beaches of Son Matias and Palma Nova either side, and plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants on the doorstep, this place has scored a coup on the location front. Add the fact the hotel is ringed by a seafront promenade, and you’ve got one great setting for a coastal break.
Pitched just above the sands, on a terrace dotted with thatched parasols, is the hotel’s swimming pool. It’s got a little wooden bridge that separates the kids’ section from the main bit, so it’s easy to keep an eye on the little ones. And if you’re in need of refreshments, there’s a poolside snack bar so you won’t have to wander far.
Step indoors, meanwhile, and you’ll be greeted by a smart but unpretentious set-up. Take the bedrooms for instance, all of which have a sea view. Painted in pale apricot and accessorised with co-ordinating soft furnishings, they’ve got a warm, homely glow. But it’s the balconies that really clinch the deal. Because the hotel practically juts out into the sea at one end, the balconies here have fantastic views.
Mealtimes come courtesy of the buffet restaurant, a light and airy space decorated in a pared-down neutral style. It serves up home favourites like full English breakfasts, plus there are weekly theme nights so you can try something new, too.

After reading some negative reviews on this hotel we weren't expecting a lot but managed to get a cheap deal at the latter end of October prior to its closure. The weather was great which was a bonus too.We normally go to the Son Matias but this was so much cheaper and to our surprise the food was actually on par if not better than our usual hotel. There was a great variety on offer and everything was fresh and tasteful. We did not have any trouble getting a sunbed and usually went up on the top floor for this,so had a good relax. My only complaint was that if you did not get into the bar very early there were no seats left to see the entertainment think some people must have had their evening meal as soon as the restaurant opened then dived into there,so we actually reverted to going into the Son Matias a couple of nights in order to get a seat. All in all I would say the standard in this hotel has got better since we last stayed there about 5 years ago and it is very handy to the beach and all the amenities so give it a go.More
Beware the Lifts
October 2013-We booked a superior room on the 7th floor, I suffer from mobility problems but as there were 3 lifts we didn't anticipate any difficulties. One of the lifts broke down every day during our stay people were trapped in them regularly and on the 2nd last day of our holiday all 3 lifts broke down unfortunately my husband and I were in one for what seemed the longest 15mins ever. The staff seemed to think this was acceptable, and even explained what the problem was as if that made it alright. They said the lifts would probably be replaced in the next year or two!!! Our room was lovely, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was average for a 3 star Spanish hotel but there was something to suit everyone. The staff in restaurant and housekeeping staff were very pleasant. The evening entertainment was so bad it was laughable, the quiz and bingo were OK but the so called professional entertainers left a lot to be desired. To summarise if you are able to climb 7 flights of stairs, and do not want evening entertainment in hotel then this hotel is lovely but if like me you have mobility problems check if they have sorted out lift problems before bookingMore

great holiday and hotel
It was my first time visiting the hotel and i would definitely go back, the location of the hotel was excellent, right on the beach with sea views from every balcony. Me and my family participated in the day time activities everyday including, french boules on the beach, shuffle board and killer pool, the reps manon and matthew were helpful and made the games enjoyable. In the evening there was a quiz made by matt every night following different themes that consisted of general knowledge and brain teasers that made you think. There was a variety of night time entertainment that suited different types of people. There was a variety of food available every night including lots of desserts. I would visit the hotel again.More

A LOVELY HOTEL IN AN IDEAL LOCATION
We had a very enjoyable holiday at the Santa Lucia Hotel in May despite the weather not being as good as we would have hoped. We have stayed at this hotel twice previously, but not for several years, so we did know what to expect. At the Santa Lucia you now have a choice of ‘all inclusive’ or ‘half board’. We chose to go half board which suited our requirements perfectly. The hotel is ideally situated, jutting out to sea right on the beach and adjacent to the lovely long and level promenade. It has been designed in such a way that all rooms, irrespective of which side of the hotel you are on, have a lovely sea view. We do, however, prefer to ask for a room on a high floor overlooking the swimming pool, as this side of the hotel does tend to get a greater percentage of the day’s sunshine. The rooms are very comfortable and are cleaned to a high standard. A fridge is available in the room for a small additional charge if required. The restaurant is buffet service at all times and serves a good selection of well prepared and tasty food which should accommodate all tastes. It is a very well organised restaurant run by (mostly) friendly staff. The late evening entertainment at the Santa Lucia, which is provided by professional visiting entertainers, was generally very good. The early evening entertainment, provided by the ‘in house’ entertainment team, was regrettably not too good. The ‘in house’ entertainment team consisted of a young man and a young woman who only seemed able to put on quizzes. They were friendly enough, but unfortunately lacked the experience to provide good quality early evening entertainment that this hotel was renowned for in previous years. We found the Santa Lucia to be a very friendly hotel. The reception staff were very helpful, efficient and sociable as was almost all of the other staff. We would like to say a big thank you to all staff at Santa Lucia and would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone (subject to noting the little constructive criticism in this review regarding the entertainment team). We will definitely be returning to the Santa Lucia again in the future. Stewart & Hilary EssexMore
