Best hotel ever!!!
We had previously visited Majorca and never found it to be anything special. Def changed our minds. What a hotel loved every minute drinks on arrival. Lovely room fantastic view. Pools and view over looking the sea amazing. Food best ever. Staff friendly and helpful. Manager of the hotel must have respect for staff as everyone relaxed and happy. Special mention for jessica Thompson rep so friendly and always able to advise and help if needed. All in all brill holiday. If you book here you will not be disappointedMore
Fantastic holiday, what a gem!
Travelled in September 2016 as a couple... flight was delayed leaving Belfast for 5 hours so we didn't get off to a good start and didn't have high hopes for this holiday. But when we arrived to the hotel we were totally taken back at how great the hotel was. Our first impressions were that the hotel was immaculate, very clean and tidy. We were greeted with a glass of Cava by the nice receptionist and checked in with ease. Next stop was our very tidy and clean room, wow! The room had a huge bed (I believe it to be at least 6FT Wide, Superking), the room was kitted with great air conditioning, clean and ice cold fridge, Speaker Docking Station for the iPhone, and all the other usual necessities with a nice modern bathroom. Then to top it off, our amazing sea view from the balcony. Every single morning we would awake with the beautiful sunrise which was coming up over the ocean. We were on the 2nd floor and the only thing restricting our view of the beach was a palm tree which to be honest, didn't really matter (see images). The room and balcony was cleaned everyday by the staff and towels and drinking water replenished daily. I must mention too that every single time we passed a member of staff in the halls or restaurant you were greeted with a lovely smile and a nice 'Olaaa' which really made you feel like the staff enjoy working there and that they want you to enjoy your stay. The food was simply amazing. We were half board so filled our faces in the morning and the evening everyday, and the choice was fantastic. There is literally something for everyone and the time and effort put into preparing the fresh food everyday is clearly visible. The choices varied in the evenings, sometimes there was fresh fish being cooked in front of you and sometimes there were a variety of meats which were cooked as you ordered them. So you never got sick of the same foods as the offerings would change daily. I am a very picky eater myself and I couldn't wait for dinner every evening, we didn't eat anywhere else on the holiday for dinner (except for a few snacks down in the town at lunch). The set meal slots that you can choose are great as you get the same seat each time you visit for dinner, so the staff get to know you and look after you well. You also don't have to carry money around with you when looking drinks etc as they give you a â¬300 card to use and you just pay the bill for whatever you use, when you leave. There is also a very nice Thomsons rep at hand for any info you need or to generally look after you. We also rented bikes from the hotel for like â¬6 for a full day. Oh and get this... when we returned, there were x2 guys cleaning the push bikes, ensuring tyre pressures are good and oiling the chains. That shows how particular the hotel is, super. The hotel also has a small gym, spa area, indoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, hammocks, a secret balcony which we couldn't find but we will when we go again, a rooftop infinity pool with a cocktail bar (views are breathtaking). The entertainment was more suited for an older crowd if I am honest. Myself and my partner got involved in a few nights activities but they seemed to finish around 11pm-11.30pm and we do like the odd party into the early hours so we thought it was relatively quiet. But that suited us as we were in need of a relaxing week away from home. The resort itself is very German, we rented a buggy out with a bunch of Germans and had amazing fun all day long driving around the island. Also visited a water park through our Thomsons rep and other places like Cala Bona so there is plenty to do. We absolutely loved our stay, so much so, that we have booked in for September 2017, the exact same dates. We couldn't find anywhere as good online for the same price. It literally should be twice the price. Highly recommend to anyone, even 24 year old couples like ourselves. There is so much more I could write. We are so looking forward to going back, thank you everyone at Protur Playa, see you in September.More
Finish off the cruise with a 4 day stay!
What we were looking for was some chill and relaxing time, and this is exactly what we got. The room was in the new part of the hotel and had no balcony, but the little touches within the room made up for that. The pool was lovely and clean and surrounded by plenty of sunbeds and daybeds and the life guard at all times. Food was plenty and the added bonus of being there on fiesta was wonderful. The live music was fabulous and the staff very helpful. We loved our short break there and will definitely come back.More
Lovely but boring
Lovely hotel. Two pools. Roof top pool is great. Both were pretty quiet but probably because they were freezing at the time we went. And every is quite older, didn't realise it's a 16+ hotel. Right by the beach, not really much to do in the area. Some ok restaurants along the front. There's a small sort of strip further in but still not much to do. There's a gym you can use and and indoor pool. Also has an outside jacuzzi and some seating/hammocks to chill on. Nice area. Food wasn't the best really. Entertainment was a little bit cringe for my taste, but probably suited to the elderly people at the hotel. Staff were lovely. Greeted with champagne/orange juice. Really clean and well presented hotel. Modern and good size room. Lovley bathroom and shower. Beach view was nice but don't really think we got the best view considering we paid extra for it, was more of a side beach view. Overall lovely but wouldn't recommend if you want to go activities etc, kind of boring, we just chilled all week.More
This was our second visit- loved it so much the first time we had to come back
This was our second visit- loved it so much the first time we had to come back. Love this hotel, cannot fault it in any way- the staff, cleanliness,food,comfort-all absolutely fabulous!!!!! You feel at home the minute you arrive, it was my partners birthday while we were there- bottle of bubbles when we went to dinner & many happy birthday wishes made the evening special . Such a relaxing holiday, you feel totally spoilt from beginning to end and go home feeling refreshed and recharged. The only reason we're not going back again is the resort- beach is beautiful so during the day was great- but evenings after dinner we enjoy exploring and walking off dinner and once out of the hotel the area of Cala Millor is very 'German' and not many English bars at round . Once you've done the strip a few times & the castle walk there wasn't an awful lot more to do. I have been trying to book this years holiday since the beginning of January- cannot find anything that even comes close to the Protur Playa Cala Millor hotel- so if you're looking at these reviews- like i do trying to decide where to go- you really would find it hard to find anything to moan about at this wonderful Hotel-thank you to all the lovely staff & to Thomson for yet another stress free fab week .More
