Adults only hotel located on the front of the bay on the edge of town which is about 5 mins walk.
Check-in was good greeted with a glass of Cava which was much appreciated in the hot temperatures, we were allocated our room which was smaller than expected but really nicely laid out. There is an electronic panel at the side of the bed for the lights which was novel initially we kept having a bedroom light fantastic show until we got used to it.
The view from the hotel is fabulous, never got tired of looking at it. The food is superb really fresh with friendly staff on hand who work hard to keep the hotel looking good, the communal area's of the hotel were well thought out.
We sat in the elephant bar in the day which was cool as you get a slight breeze from the sea. The pool looked inviting although we did not use it.
The only thing we found that let this hotel down was the evening entertainment which was dull; either some DJ playing tunes or a singer who was not great. If this was better I would have scored the hotel a 5.
We spent a few nights at a nearby bar who had live bands on which were great.
Overall this hotel is brilliant for couples who are looking to chill out and spend some quality time together.
The resort itself is mostly along one main street with lots of shops, bar and restaurants which eventually joins the area of Cala Bona. The area is frequented by German and British nationalities mainly. The resort is clean and family friendly has a few agents in town who offer trips cheaper than the reps, we did try some which proved to be very good including a trip to Soller and some other areas that consisted of almost every type of transport and most enjoyable.
We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to friends.More
I recently wrote a review of this hotel. 1 week later it had disappeared! In the review I wrote that I booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and mentioned about how I expected more. How convenient that is! If you don't know there are 4 rooms at the back of the hotel that have no balcony. If you are unfortunate enough to be put in one of these rooms, good luck. In my review I said i found the staff quite cold, however I found the food was very good.
In reply to my review the hotel said that i must have been mistaken, got the wrong hotel and they have no record of our stay. I am not mistaken and have stayed in this hotel! Like a previous person said - don't believe everything you read on tripadvisor. There's a reason they're no 1 - all the ones they don't like get removed!More
Nothing better, great area, great week
What more could you ask for. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean as well as nice and modern. The hotel is in such a great spot, probably a 30 second walk to the beach where you can sunbathe on beds, a cafe/bar where you can have a meal, there are shops 2 minutes away from the hotel, bars, a park about 5 minutes away for kids with go karting if they wanted to go. Then a strip with shops such as pandora, designer shops & things for families. The rooms were fantastic, big enough balcony with nice views, clean and spacious and you also get a litre bottle of cold water in the fridge every day (if you use the other one) The restaurant for both breakfast and evening meal was great also, the food options every night were amazing, for both kids and adults. The entertainment at night was good and they also do many activities in which you can get involved with! You can tell thy put their customers first. I will definitely be going again. More
Great hotel in a not-too-great-resort.
I should have known really? We had decided it was time for a couples-only break. We should have waited another ten years I reckon before booking this hotel. Absolutely no gripes about the hotel, very clean and professional looking. The majority of guests were,,, um... mature? Mostly very mature. But that's not a bad thing, just don't expect a noisy bar with dancing and loud music. Personally I like a bit of that on holiday. We did experience the resident duo one night - listening to them from our balcony. After much frowning and grimacing from us it's a definite thumbs-down I'm afraid.
We did see some sad people hobbling out as fast as they could at 8am to grab the best sun beds from our balcony - it took all of my willpower to stop myself from either heckling them, or going down the next day for a race? Really folks, there's a great beach only 100 metres away - why on earth stay around the pool all day? I don't get it? We were on the beach all day every day, and it's certainly close enough to still be able to use the hotel's 'facilities'.
The restaurant served nice breakfasts, either inside or outside, even though if you looked away for seemingly even one second while you were eating, your plate was swiped by an over-eager waiter. Great omelettes prepared in front of you by a smiley chef. We staggered down one morning at 9.30 for breakfast to see one waiter looking at his watch and tutting at us, even though we still had half an hour before breakfast finished, and little did he know that we're super-fast eaters in any case. They certainly pack you in for dinner, and even though it was quite nice to be able to reminisce about school lunches again after all this time, I wasn't expecting it from this hotel.
Cala Millor itself was a let down. Plusses are a nice beach and.. well, that's about it. Very German indeed; the bars, bar staff, restaurants - all German. Cala Millor is the place for you if you like sausages, sauerkraut and German beer (I do!), but if you don't, don't. A bit new for us as well. We prefer a run-down, crumbling, historic old town with some noisy, nasty and newer parts stitched on. This was a bit tacky? But not even interesting tacky. A cross between Milton Keynes and Brighton? But at least I did discover my now favourite beer - a great Pilsner called Veltins, from Austria. So it ain't all bad is it?
So all in all we did have a nice time, but we won't be back I'm afraid. More
Best Hotel I have ever stayed in
I am genuinely so so shocked reading the bad reviews of his wonderful hotel!
Me and my boyfriend stayed here at the end of May in 2015 and I could not fault it at all.
We arrived early morning and were welcomed with a champagne glass of orange juice and extremely friendly customer services. The guy at the reception was so friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome as soon as you walked in. The hotel is super clean and I felt so out of place because of how posh it looked!!! I have never stayed in a hotel like this and it definitely deserves 5 stars.
We booked a sea view room and I can tell you now the photos do not do the rooms justice! It was even better than the photos! So modern and spacious and the bathroom was incredible with a huge walk in shower. We were on the first floor so was a bit disappointed by that but still had amazing views of the sea.
The food was delicious! Breakfast was your typical English breakfast including hash browns, sausages, eggs, bacon and beans etc. With other choices such as cereal or toast. The only downside to the restaurant was them stating that men had to wear long trousers and not shorts. Because me and my boyfriend are a young couple of 18 and 19 years of age, this was a bit intimidating to us as my boyfriend doesn't wear long trousers so we felt a bit out of place in this sense. He still wore shorts and nothing was said to him so that was good.
Honestly I could write so so much about how incredible this hotel was and how perfect our stay was. All of the staff were super friendly! We would love to stay here again but book the room with the private jacuzzi!
We're coming back this April but staying in Protur Alicia in Cala bona which is a 20 minute walk from Cala millor. If you're unsure about this hotel, definitely book it!!!! You will not be disappointed. I'm booking this for a surprise for my mums 50th because she was super jealous when I showed her the pictures of our stay :)More
