Protur Playa Cala Millor

This hotel was refurbished in 2014. This beachside hotel now comes with a sleek lounge area and Zen-like bedrooms.

A pretty promenade is all that separates this newly refurbished hotel from a sandy beach. It’s not far from the town centre, either – you can walk there in less than 10 minutes.

Bedrooms here have all been given a makeover, with sand and stone colour schemes and sleek wooden floors. Outside, there’s a smart new pool that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

Fantastic hotel.

Got back 2 weeks ago from this hotel and have rebooked for next year. Cannot find any fault with this hotel. Hotel and location just perfect. You will not find a better hotel in Cala Millor, just perfect.More

nice stay

Generally, a really good hotel. We stayed on the 6th floor and had a lovely view of the bay towards cala bona. Staff were friendly, hotel prices were fine for alcohol and the food was lovely. Hotel rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Shower was good and complementary toileteries supplied. We stayed sept/oct and even though it was towards the end of the season, people were still going out their way to go down before breakfast and claim their bed, returning to it over an hour and a half later. Pretty sad stuff, but it made us laugh. Weather was thundery some days, which is to be expected at the end of season. Don't think about watching tv when it's raining - although there is satellite tv, the reception is so poor you can't watch anything. This was the case for most couples at the hotel. Also, I had expected a bit more in the way of entertainment at the hotel, but sadly it appeared to cater only for those of a certain age. So, yes, it is a nice hotel and we had a pleasant stay.More

a lovely hotel

Just returned from a week at this hotel. A room on the 3rd floor with what was described a partial sea view, but was more of a complete sea view - and we didn't pay any extra for it. The room - wardrobe hanging space is limited, we struggled to hang all our clothes in the small space provided, but other than that everything else was fine. The food was plentiful and lots of choice. Although I didn't mind having set meal times in the evening, as I am a slow eater and like a gap between courses, did feel rushed if I wanted 3 courses to fit in the allocated time. Overall, we though this is great hotel, in a lovely location and will definitely return.More

Good points and bad

Arrived here late Sept to early Oct.Drinks on arrival as said before, chose orange juice. Allocated a room on the second floor with pool/sea view but when the curtains were opened it seemed to be everyone could see into the room so we requested another room higher up,this was not a problem.allocated a room on the 8th floor.Still a great pool/sea view, better actually as you could see the mountains as well. Quick overview at bottom. Room: good and bad: Room was very modern but was a bit disappointed to find the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied from the previous occupants, although this is an easy mistake to make as the rest of the room was very clean.Double bed (not two singles pushed together).TV with ITV and BBC but very poor reception so couldn't really watch it.Sky sports was okay and some others but don't know why.Stand by light was on all night which was annoying as you cannot turn it off at a switch, quite bright had to cover it.Rain shower was good but wall shower didn't have enough pressure.Touch button light system is a good idea but the "do not disturb" button was not taken notice of as it was pressed but when the Mrs came out of the shower the cleaner came in.Free water, tea and coffee all week, very much appreciated.Fridge which could be stocked with drinks if requested for a fixed tariff. Good blackout curtains, firm bed, soft pillows.Carpet in hallways so you can't hear people dragging cases in/out during the night. Dining:good and bad Breakfast: was good, varied and hot. Evening :Show cooking was good if you didn't mind queueing.Varied, not always to my taste. Al a carte very good but you have to use the swipe card with your name on it,not the duplicate as you cannot pay cash for drinks. Staff:good and bad Cannot fault any of the staff, they were all polite. If they did not speak English they always said hola.No one stood out from the rest Entertainment: Cannot really comment as we did not stay in for a whole act, which may say something. On the day we had bad weather when everyone was sat in the lounge nothing was arranged to keep people occupied apart from a quiz at 1pm that lasted 20 mins but that may have been scheduled. Sunbeds: As with previous reviews. We work all year so we don't want to get up early on holiday, late in season so we could still get one in the day.Can see the problem though. Area:good and bad Mainly German orientated.Found an English bar around the corner called The Sportsman's bar, good meals, karaoke after 9.30. The Rose and Crown is further into the town which also did meals and had quizzes, acts on some nights and karaoke.Plenty of pizzerias, tapas bars and restaurants. Not many with live acts. Overview: Nice hotel that just makes 4*. We found staff friendly. If you like to relax and read a book, this is the hotel for you.If you are looking for entertainment or tribute bands you will struggle to find anything in the area.Plenty of shops.Weather not too good when we were there, constant wind and a heavy thunder storm, but that's the chance you take at this time of year.People still trying to sunbathe though.Over-rated on trip advisor Hope this helps.More
