Protur Playa Cala Millor

The Protur Playa Cala Millor was refurbished in 2014. This beachside hotel now comes with a sleek lounge area and Zen-like bedrooms.

A pretty promenade is all that separates the newly refurbished Protur Cala Millor from a sandy beach. It’s not far from the town centre, either – you can walk there in less than 10 minutes.

Bedrooms here have all been given a makeover, with sand and stone colour schemes and sleek wooden floors. Outside, there’s a smart new pool that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

Relaxing quiet venue

A lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff, we had a great week, food was excellent, room comfortable with nice view. shops a short walk away. About an hour from Palma. Only gripe was the temperature of the pool, freezing!!More

Excellent holiday

We were really looking forward to a relaxing break and this is exactly what we got. Upon arrival champagne/orange juice was offered while the reception staff checked us in and organised our room safe (2 euros per day, no deposit). You are also given a password to access the free Wi-Fi - there's one computer near reception. Our room, 408, had a great view of the pool and the sea. The glass-fronted balcony had sun first thing in the morning but by 12.30pm it was shady, however this wasn't a problem as it was still warm enough to sit out with a glass of wine and some pistachios! The room was cleaned daily and tea/coffee making facilities were kept topped up together with a bottle of water every day. The drinks in the fridge are expensive; we bought our own and just made use of the fridge. The walk-in shower had 2 shower heads, one from the ceiling the other wall mounted which could be adjusted. Shampoo and shower gels were replenished when used and our towels were replaced daily. The bed was huge: 6 feet wide and was extremely comfortable. Satellite TV in the room shows English stations. There was no problem obtaining a sunbed as the hotel was probably less than a quarter full during our visit from 25 October - 1 November. Everything was spotlessly clean around the pool, and everywhere else for that matter. There is a lifeguard on duty until 6.00pm. Both indoor and outdoor pools are fitted with a disabled chair hoist. The gym is only small but has some good quality equipment. On our first visit to the buffet dining room we were able to choose a table, which is where we sat for the rest of our holiday. The food is of an exceptional quality and there is so much choice it was sometimes difficult to know what to have. Every guest can have one free meal in the a la carte restaurant, which you book at reception. I found this room quite chilly as the air conditioning was on so you might want to take a cardigan/jumper with you. Both the dining room and restaurant use the same drinks menu and you can get a fairly good bottle of wine for around 10 euros. If you don't drink it all with your meal, you can take the glasses and wine/beer out into the bar area. The evening entertainment was not to our liking (we only saw it one night), we preferred to wander out to a local bar. If you enjoy a stroll along the seafront this is definitely the place for you. You can walk to Cala Bona where there's a cute little harbour, and stop off for a cool beer or coffee and cake on the way. A leisurely stroll will take you about 30 minutes max. We took a bus trip to Sa Coma (1.85 euros) but as it only took about 5 or 6 minutes we decided to walk back. We took a boat trip (22 euros per person) and disembarked for nearly 3 hours in Cala Ratjada, with its harbour and restaurants along the coastline; a very pretty place. You can also walk to the 17th century castle; there's a café at the top if all the walking is too much for you!! If you decide to stay at the Playa Cala Millor Hotel, I hope you have an excellent time, we certainly did and will be returning. And don't forget the added bonus: this is an adults only hotel, certainly worth the one hour's trip from the airport!More

Fabulous holiday

Returned home from this hotel on 24th October. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel is spotless and the rooms lovely. All public areas beautiful and well maintained. Free tea, coffee and water in the rooms was an added bonus. We were lucky as the weather was beautiful and the hotel quiet so plenty of space around the pool and in the restaurant. The food was excellent and always hot with plenty of chefs on hand to cook things the way you like them. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The hotel is well situated to walk from cala millor to cala bona with lots of bars and restaurants along the sea front and in the streets behind the hotel. The beach across from the hotel is beautiful and the sea lovely and clean and warm enough for swimming. Would definitely recommend this hotel.More

Very good hotel

We stayed at the hotel for a week from the 6th of October, exellent room on the 5th floor with full sea view . The hotel was immaculate both inside and outside, the food selection was very good but more attention needs to be given to replacing the empty serving trays more quickly, as this can be quite frustrating . The entertainment needs to be refined in order to match the quality of the hotel in general , we found the service in all areas first class . This is a very good hotel , and if all the reviews are studied by both the management and thompsons could be a great one.More

Philip b,

Fantastic Hotel...Stunning rooms

We stayed in the hotel for a week on the 6th of May, we were one of the first guests and we were very impressed with everything. The food is great, the rooms are superb, the staff were always very friendly and helpful, in fact everything about the hotel was first class. We have already booked for 10 days in May next year, I agree will all the reviews that I have read and would definitely recommend this hotel, we have stayed in numerous Gold Hotels which were very good but this one beats them all.
