At the Inturotel Esmeralda Resort, you get two hotels for the price of one – and they’re both just a few minutes’ walk away from the beach.
The Inturotel Esmeralda Resort has an impressive location, hugging one of Cala d’Or’s peaceful little coves. What’s more, the property is within easy walking distance of the town centre.
The resort is made up of two hotels – the Esmeralda Park, which is on the beach, and the Cala Azul Garden, which is just across the road from the Esmeralda – so there’s plenty in the way of facilities.
You'll find two pools at Esmeralda Park hotel, one of them is an activity pool and comes with its own children's area. If that wasn't enough, there's another pool at Cala Azul Garden designed for fun with the family. Both have spacious sun terraces and are dotted with sunbeds and parasols. A deposit is required for pool towels.
These premium 1 bedroom apartments are located in the Esmeralda block. They come equipped with a kitchenette, a twin bedroom plus 2 sofa-beds in the lounge, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. Plus, there's a balcony for some outside space.
Located in the Esmeralda Park block, these 1-bedroom apartments are light and airy offering a comfortable stay. They come with a kitchenette, lounge with 2 sofa-beds and a furnished balcony with small table and chairs. Wi-Fi* is also available.

We booked a self-catered premium apartment that was absolutely faultless; very clean, modern, and with all the cooking appliances we needed (a microwave, fridge, 2 ring-hob). The bathroom was lovely! Since we booked the premium room we had free wifi for two devices. Our room was located in the M building which is directly next to, and overlooked, the entertainment stage, restaurant, sports and bar area - this meant that from 8-10:30pm there was constant noise with music blaring. We asked to change rooms and got relocated to the N building on our 3rd day. The staff were more than happy to accommodate our request - I reckon if you treat the staff with respect, they will treat you with respect - which was perhaps absent in the people who complained about the staff.
The resort is big and is quite clearly aimed for children, which we had not anticipated (as two adults who wanted peace). There are kids clubs every day and children's entertainment every night, as well as a play park and shallow baby pool. I don't feel this is emphasised enough on their website or on the Jet2 website. However, it was relatively easy to find a quiet spot without kids to sunbathe - it was not rowdy or anything though, just young kids making noise. The beach was a great asset of the hotel. We went snorkelling every evening in the cove when it was quiet. Watersports are also offered. The hotel offers yoga in the mornings, both indoors and on the beach, as well as zumba, bike hire and other fitness things for adults. There is definitely plenty to do if you're after a busy holiday.
We could not complain about the location. Within 5 minutes walk there are numerous restaurants (from tapas to pizzerias), and lots of shops that were half supermarkets/half souvenir shops with inflatables etc. We also walked to Cala D'or one evening to the marina - make sure to take a map or google map it! It was about a 25 minute walk and it was nice to get out and about, although I wouldn't say it was wonderful.
Overall, it was definitely worth the money and we would love to go back. I feel it should be 4 stars, not 3. Could not recommend it more!More
As good as always
This was our 4th visit to the hotel. It remains spotlessly clean both inside and poolside. The pool area does get crowded but the pool is so big there is plenty of space. The pool is suitable for all ages whether you want to play or swim.More
Lovely first family holiday
This was our first holiday abroad with our 23 month old.
Our first couple of days were bumpy. We were allocated a lovely room in H block but as it was on the top floor I was so worried my toddler would fall or climb on the balcony- we asked to move. We were moved to a ground floor room in the same block and trundled up and down in the rain with 3 cases, a pram and a toddler. When we entered the room there was still a guest in there!!! Back down again to reception and by this point I had started to lose patience. The lady on reception was unsympathetic and said moved us again but said it was all she had left. The third room was nearest to reception and horrible. Dark and dated and we were worried we had made a massive mistake with this hotel. But with a tired, hungry toddler who had been up since 4 am we had no choice but to try to settle in. We were put on a waiting list and told it might take 4 days to move.
We had hired a car so did some trips the first few days which was great as the weather wasn't good at all. Early May is very hot or miss.
Day 3 and things turned around. We were moved back to block H and offered some help with our cases this time. Room was far nicer- bright, airy, clean and with a lovely view of the pool and sea.
We went self catering but used the restaurant several times and found the food was fantastic with lots of choice. Drinks were very expensive so we stuck with water in the restaurant!
Cala d'or is very pretty and clean. Lots of beautiful restaurants and pretty shops. The kids play areas on the way to the centre is great and so reasonable.
The spar supermarkets are so expensive!!! If you're self catering go to the Suma supermarket! Only 5-10 minutes up the road in the opposite direction to the centre. You'll spend a small fortune otherwise!!!
The beach was gorgeous. Nice and small and safe for our little girl to play. The sea and the pools were freezing! I'd go later in the year next time.
The indoor pool was nice for grey days.
Entertainment- my daughter liked the evening disco but it was exactly the same every night for 2 weeks. Didn't see the evening shows.
We had to pay 40 euros to hire the safe that was in our room- what's that about???? Couldn't take the risk though.
There's a problem with selfish people putting towels around the pool- and this was early in the season!
Disputes the rocky start we all had a lovely holiday and didn't really want to leave once we had got settled. We would return as we liked Cala d'or and this was great base to explore it. We didn't once see a Thompson Rep however and had a bad experience with reception on day 1 so felt a bit let down by service. We spoke to reception on the last day about prices and availability of their villas for next summer- we were told to look at the website! Next!
From what we saw- the rooms are all of different standards- so check where you're staying. More
More stairs than the pyramids !
We stayed here for 8 days in early June 2016 . We arrived early morning and was given a room that had all stairs , we struggled with a 2 kids a pram plus cases..no help offered. Went too reception following morning to ask to be moved, as no 1 our view was a busy car park covered by trees..no view, no sunlight ...plus the stair situation....to be be told by a young receptionist ...we move you in 2/3 days ???? . We bought Internet , anybody with children will know just how much of a life saver that is to keep them entertained while preparing to go out of a evening ...never worked in the room , reception yes but not anywhere else ...no problem we give you money back as Internet struggles to connect in H block. Why not tell us that prior. We left a pair of Ralph Lauren shorts at the pool , goes back an hour later and the waiter had stuffed them in a food bin. After 4 days they knock on our door at 7.30 am....we move you now.....like your going to wake your children to move...you don't move now we can't help you !!!!
We have stayed at the ferra blanca 3 times in cal a dor and it was always brilliant... After our second day I tried to get accommodation..no luck, my fault. The all inclusive is that good you don't want to go out , so I thought self catering option would be better to see more of cal a dor, I was very wrong .
This hotel may suite some people, others not so much...,with no ramps to any pool, all steps and if my wife wanted to go home to settle my son down for an hour, we all had to go back as she couldnt of got the pram up, then down the stairways , the staff un freindly and overworked, the hotel at bursting point, I'm being totally honest when I say if this hotel was offered to me as exactly the package, room, experience I got for free...I'd decline.More
We stayed here for a week (got home yesterday) and we're already planning our next visit. The apartments were basic but clean and spacious, we were in block K which was perfect for us as our balcony was quite private and it is in a quieter location than others.
The restaurant overlooks the beach and one of the pools which we enjoyed our first morning. The food in the restaurant, I personally didn't like as I thought it was quite average. We were self catering but ate breakfast here our first morning. It's a buffet with lots of choice but it was quite bland and some of it cold from being sat out for quite some time. The hotel holds a Majorcan night once a week which again I didn't like, we went quite late so majority of the "hot" food was actually cold, and it just felt poor quality. When we return, we will do self catering again and won't visit the hotels restaurant.
The complex is sea front, the beach was only a 2 minute walk from our apartment and the hotel has direct access to this.
Great location, if you walk out of the hotels main entrance, there is a mini supermarket and a restaurant opposite, and a handful of restaurants nearby (1-2 min walk). It's only around a 5 min walk into the centre of Cala D'or as well which was very handy as you'll find more restaurants and souvenir shops etc.
Would definitely recommend!More
