Above all, the Inturotel Esmeralda Resort offers up a great pool scene. On the food front, the in-house barbecue and pizza place are guest favourites, plus Cala d'Or and its bars and restaurants are close to hand. A petite beach is even nearer.
The Inturotel Esmeralda Resort has an impressive location, hugging one of Cala d’Or’s peaceful little coves. What’s more, the property gives you easy access to the town centre’s shops, restaurants and bars – they’re around a 15-minute walk away.
The resort is made up of two hotels – the Esmeralda Park, which is on the beach, and the Cala Azul Garden, which is located just across the road from the Esmeralda – so there’s plenty in the way of facilities. Three swimming pools lead the way, flanked by grassy lawns, palms and greenery. Plus, you’ve got activities like minigolf and aerobics to choose from during the day.
In terms of food, the buffet restaurant features international cuisine and on-the-spot cooking stations in. If you fancy a change, though, there’s also a barbecue grill, and a pizzeria where you can get food to go.
You'll find 2 pools at Esmeralda Park hotel, 1 of them is an activity pool and comes with its own children's area. If that wasn't enough, there's another pool at Cala Azul Garden designed for fun with the family. Both have spacious sun terraces and are dotted with sunbeds and parasols. A deposit is required for pool towels.
We stayed in the Esmeralda Park for 10 nights and had a brilliant time. The room was ready from around 2pm the day we arrived and stayed in block L. The apartment was excellent, was very clean, spacious and relaxing. It had quite a lot of English channels, more than i've experienced before in Spanish hotels and air con, which was definetly required. The beds weren't too bad but not the best either.
It's quite a large complex type area with various hotels covered under the same 'Inturotel' brand around each other. We had no problem in finding a sunbed on the grass overlooking the cove, but the pool sunbeds seem to be snapped up early and quite busy round there. The pool bar wasn't too bad either with 'happy hour' between 4:30 - 5:30.
The entertainment was ok at best, it seemed to consist of the hotel's entertainment team doing the majority of the evening entertainment with the odd external act now and again. Just watch your money/change at night though when paying for drinks, we gave a 50 euro note to the waitress and after 15 mins finally got our change which was wrong. We chased up and they thought we gave a 20 euro note, funny it's never the other way round isnt it!
I want to reserve a special mention to the work the cleaners and maintenance staff put in, it's fantastic and is reflected in the spotless rooms and grounds. We saw the maintenance guys cleaning the recycling bins every few days!
Will i be returning to the Emseralda Park in the future?..........AbsolutelyMore

Great family holiday
We stayed at Esmeralda Park with our two children aged 14 and 10 in the last week of August and had a great holiday. We had a self-catering apartment which was simple but very adequate, with comfortable beds and air conditioning, and took the half-board option so ate in the main hotel. The restaurant was fantastic, probably the nicest we've been in, with views onto the beach and a really excellent choice of food at both breakfast and dinner. The staff in the restaurant and at reception were very friendly and efficient all week, and the hotel and pool area were kept spotlessly clean at all times. There is a slight issue with the swimming pool layout - there are three pools which are all good but at times there's not quite enough space around them for everyone. There's a beach literally a minutes walk from the hotel which helps a lot. That aside, this is a lovely resort, safe and friendly, ideal for young families, and very good value. Thoroughly recommended.More
This is a nice hotel, very friendly staff and excellent location. The room we stayed in as had a face lift from last year and was very nice. There was very little cupard space for your cloths, there were only two of us so we managed but if there were four of you it could be a struggle. There are two wardrobes in the apartment all it needs is a few shelfs in each and the problem would be solved. The shower was very slow not a lot of pressure so we decided to have baths. The rooms were kept very clean and apart from the couple of points I have made we were happy to stay here. The pools are very nice but can get a little bit cramped at times. I would stay here again as we love the location. The staff are excellent. The biggest issue at both the Esmeralda and the Cala Azul is the sunbeds there are in an appalling condition and need replacing.More

We stayed at the esmerelda park in July our fourth time to cala dor but never at this hotel on first impressions it looks stunning when we turned up at 12 mid day our room was not ready but when it was it was worth the wait with the most amazing view of the beach and pool now on too entertainment the entertainment in the hotel was average so we found a great bar up the road with karaoke and the funniest guy ever the pool bar was great with great snacks for the day and the staff were great now to the bad point the hotel bar was a rip off the staff would take your drinks order at the bar only a few of the staff mind you and keep your change unless u asked for it one night I gave them 50 euros and after 40 minutes I still hadn't got my change I asked the member of staff for my change and was rudely told to sit down after another 20 minutes of moaning I finally got my change so we stopped drinking there as I will always give a tip but it's my choice not there's because of this we went out every evening would I go back if it wasn't for this problem yes but after watching this happen to many guests the answer is no and this ruined my stayMore
