Above all, the Inturotel Esmeralda Resort offers up a great pool scene. On the food front, the in-house barbecue and pizza place are guest favourites, plus Cala d'Or and its bars and restaurants are close to hand. A petite beach is even nearer.
The Inturotel Esmeralda Resort has an impressive location, hugging one of Cala d’Or’s peaceful little coves. What’s more, the property gives you easy access to the town centre’s shops, restaurants and bars – they’re around a 15-minute walk away.
The resort is made up of two hotels – the Esmeralda Park, which is on the beach, and the Cala Azul Garden, which is located just across the road from the Esmeralda – so there’s plenty in the way of facilities. Three swimming pools lead the way, flanked by grassy lawns, palms and greenery. Plus, you’ve got activities like minigolf and aerobics to choose from during the day.
In terms of food, the buffet restaurant features international cuisine and on-the-spot cooking stations in. If you fancy a change, though, there’s also a barbecue grill, and a pizzeria where you can get food to go.
You'll find two pools at Esmeralda Park hotel, one of them is an activity pool and comes with its own children's area. If that wasn't enough, there's another pool at Cala Azul Garden designed for fun with the family. Both have spacious sun terraces and are dotted with sunbeds and parasols. A deposit is required for pool towels.
These light and airy superior 1-bedroom apartments can sleep up to four and are situated in the Esmerelda Park. They come with a kitchenette and a living area with sofa-beds. Wi-Fi comes at a charge. Cots are available on request.

A lovely break
We saw this hotel last year and thought the setting looked stunning so decided to book for this year. We requested a quiet room on the top floor and this was exactly what we got with a refurbished room and partial sea view.
The staff were very friendly and everything was clean and the view from the bar near reception was beautiful looking down on the pools and beach. We can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there.
On arrival be aware reception will only take cash for wifi which was 22 euros for two weeks per gadget and safe hire was an additional daily cost. Our only let down was having to hire a microwave, I am coeliac and brought my rolls which can only be used if warmed in the microwave and this cost us 3.50 euros per day, again in cash.
We really enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.More
Love this hotel
Just returned from 14 nights at this hotel , location is fantastic, food is fantastic , the entertainment staff work really hard to entertain everyone , the dining room staff are all friendly , the lady who greets you at the dining room door remembered us from last year which is a nice touch. Our cleaner was excellent , I guess the only thing I have to complain about is some people reserve towels on sun loungers and don't appear all day , last year the life guard removed towels if you did not appear but this year they did not .
Overall fantastic holidayMore

Great place, shame about the lack of toilets!
We've just returned from a weeks stay at this great hotel. The rooms were adequate, though not refurbished. We stayed in 'premier' front, third floor apartment in block M. The room was comfortable, lovely pool/sea view from the balcony, and air conditioning was great, aided by the fact that you could leave it on all the time by leaving a room card in the slot. The room was kept beautifully clean, service 5 days a week.
Arriving and finding our rooms was a challenge, as signs to reception are hard to spot, as the bus drops you by a nearby roundabout. To find reception you have to walk downwards into the restaurant area, bear right, until you see the glass doors.
We saw lots of tired, hot people dragging cases up and down the short hill looking to check in. Maybe a more noticeable sign by the roundabout would be helpful, not a good first impression. If you find stairs a challenge, don't come here, or if you do, ask for a ground floor room, dragging cases up three or four flights of stairs isn't fun! An offer to help from staff when they can see families arrive would be helpful.
There has been several reviews stating the normal sun-bed issues. I have to admit I was a 6.30am person! but some people could be like me in that they wake early anyway and like to watch the world wake up! To sit and read and watch the sun come up is one of my pleasures on holiday! This is not what most people do, a quick towel drop off, and they're back to bed. However, if there were plenty of beds. and space no-one would need to do that. The food here is faultless, I would be surprised if anyone could complain, the choice and quality is outstanding, we were half board, and enjoyed every meal to the utmost!
My only real complaint is the lack of toilets around the complex. In reception there was 4 cubicles in the ladies, no ventilation, and they were often dirty and very smelly. For our first three days the only hand dryer was broken, and when I asked for some paper towels to dry my hands, I was told to use toilet paper!
There is only one other toilet cubicle at the pool bar, wholly inadequate in my opinion. This alone would stop me and my family returning to this little gem.More

lovely holiday. Nice resort, very friendly stafff and beautiful environment. Only negatve point is finding a sunbed as people put towels on them as early as 6.45 to reserve them for later!! So a little frustrating.
