Hotel Rocador

This hotel has a beach on its doorstep and easy access to Cala d'Or's restaurants and nightlife.

This place has an exclusive location, overlooking the pretty cove of Cala Gran. It’s fronted by a curve of golden sand, and it is less than a 5-minute walk from Cala d’Or’s cosmopolitan town centre.

The hotel has just been made over, so you’ll walk in to box-fresh interiors. Everything has a minimalist feel. Rooms, for instance, feature stark white walls and furniture, offset by colourful, arty murals. From May 2016, this hotel will become part of the Thomson Sensimar collection.

Great hotel, highly recommended.

Great hotel in a great location. The hotel was quite modern and spacious and we had a fantastic room overlooking the pool area. There were two restaurants which were really good, especially so in the A La Cart restaurant. Sunbathing around the pool can get quite busy but there are lots of sun beds and there are also other area's dotted around the grounds to sunbathe and the hotel is located right next to the public beach as an option as well. The entertainment was pretty low key which suited us perfectly, the bar prices were very reasonable and the staff were really helpful. Highly recommended.More

Great relaxing holiday, great hotel and staff

From the chocolate covered strawberry and cava welcome at the hotel check-in and the bottle of wine with glasses in your room, the manager, Miguel and all the staff endeavour to make your holiday the best it can be. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful, from the manager to the maintenance man and the gardener, they worked as one big family and this really helped the guests get the best from their stay and the overall ambiance of the hotel itself. Not a true boutique hotel it has the same kind of feel. We stayed at this hotel a couple of times several years ago before TUI(Thomson) got on board. It has been refurbished in the past 18 months or so and it has been transformed. Not the cheapest hotel but definitely worth paying for. All the communal areas are modern, light and airy and because it is a Couples hotel it is peaceful. There is a full programme of entertainment through the day and every evening. There are 2 pools; one full size outside pool and one smaller indoor pool ( not the the faint hearted as it is not heated in high season) where there is also a jacuzzi. This area opens on to a small terraced area overlooking the beach,(this is the spot if you really want to chill out). There is range of treatments available massage etc. The rooms aren't the largest we've stayed in but they are very clean, comfortable and have everything you need including toothbrushes, sewing kit, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a balcony with sitting area. Our room also had a large fully equipped wet room. If I wanted to be a bit picky there were 2 slight issues; the bath towels are rather small and thin and the wardrobe has very limited hanging space more like a very small single wardrobe due to the integral drawers and safe this is especially a problem for hanging a few long tops/ dresses. The light dining room has wonderful views out over the beach and the Cala Gran sea and cove. The food is great quality with lots of choice, I'm a 'fussy' eater but there was always something on the menu which I really enjoyed. Again if I wanted to be picky at busy times, because it's buffet service and you are queueing, the food could do with being a little hotter to prevent it being lukewarm by the time you get back to your table. The lobby bar is great at night for a drink before or after dinner, sometimes for just a quiet drink after a stroll in the evening with friends you may have made. Occasionally the entertainment is held there instead of the outside site near the main pool;there is a very good duo and a classical guitarist. The site of the hotel is ideal, right on the side of the Cala Gran beach and a five minute stroll into the centre of Cala D'or where there are a myriad of supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. There were so many staff we could mention to thank who helped make our holiday too many to mention or whose names we cannot remember. Special thanks especially to Miguel, Louis, ( Henrique,Antonia, Chipi, and Khali in the restaurant), and all the staff who worked in the lobby bar. If we return to Cala D'or it will definitely be at the Rocador! Carol and Eddie ManchesterMore

Excellent hotel we enjoyed our holiday and intend to return next year.we stayed in the hotel for two weeks at the beginning of June and found a very clean hotel very good food and very helpful staff .the only fault we could find was the very small wardrobe and lack of storage.More

Anthony T,

Long awaited return

We were so pleased wither the standards set by this hotel for facilities, staff, food, cleanliness, professionalism, and overall presentation on our holiday last year in September (13-20) we are returning again this time September 19-26 and very much looking forward to it. It is most certainly second to none in every aspect and and credit it to Miguel Rojas and his team.We recommend it with every confidence to anyone contemplating a visit. We can't wait to get back !! We thought it was superb last year and no doubt this year it will be even better.More
