Hotel Rocador

The Hotel Rocador has a beach on its doorstep and easy access to Cala d'Or's restaurants and nightlife.

This place has an exclusive location, overlooking the pretty cove of Cala Gran. It’s fronted by a curve of golden sand, and it is less than a 5-minute walk from Cala d’Or’s cosmopolitan town centre.

The hotel has just been made over, so you’ll walk in to box-fresh interiors. Everything has a minimalist feel. Rooms, for instance, feature stark white walls and furniture, offset by colourful, arty murals.

Another child-free gem

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Rocador Hotel in Cala d'Or. Wee agree with most of the good things already written about the hotel - its location, above the beach, so that the restaurant appears to be in the trees with a wonderful view. The hotel is near to shops and bars and we recommend Woody's for football! What delighted us the most was the unfailing friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. My friend had a recent mobility problem and contacted the manager prior to our holiday for information about the height of loo seats etc. His personal reassurance continued throughout the holiday. She asked for a non-slip mat for the shower, which arrived very quickly. We found out later that a member of staff had been sent out to buy one especially. In the restaurant there were 3 or 4 varieties of specialist milk but only full milk otherwise. After raising this with the manager, skimmed milk was provided and we were given a carton to use in our room. The only caveat is that there are many steps to the beach, some of which had no hand rails, even going the long way round via the spa. This could be difficult for those with limited mobility. There was no problem with access to the shops and town.More

Fabulous holiday in wonderful location

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The location on the beach in Cala Gran is beautiful. The furnishings of both the public areas and bedrooms exceeded expectations. All the staff professionally lead by a brilliant Manager Miguel Rojas, are friendly efficient and appear to enjoy their work. Nothing was too much trouble if requests were made. The food was plentiful, attractively presented and good quality. The clientele were of varying age groups but with couples only this was ideal for us. We met many people staying and they were all of the same opinion and very happy. Quiet at this time of the season was a bonus. Facilities includeda pool outside and another inside, which were kept to a high standard. We are descerning guests and have some experience in hospitality and everything was carried out to a high standard following correct procedures. Being a Thomson hotel, asks the question why not a Thomson Gold? It deserves to be. Would thoroughly recommend to any one.😃More

Good Hotel, Great Staff

Good hotel, excellent friendly staff including Jesus nearly all of the restaurant staff ( I was not impressed by the A La Carte restaurant), the service was poor in the night we visited. We were offered a second visit but declined. They have a long way to go before it becomes fine dining. A particular mention for Fernando the activity rep, he help make our holiday, very personable and friendly young man. The entertainment from Molly & Greg was good. It would help if the hotel did something about the lighting and air conditioning in the room they play. Sarah , our Rep was excellent and probably the best I have met on our numerous holidays. The food in the restaurant was very good, great Omelette's from the friendly young chef in the morning, always happy and smiling. Two negatives, the indoor pool was very smelly and the Air Conditioning in the room was ineffective I would be happy to back to this hotel if there was more to do in the resort.More

Excellent Hotel, Very Enjoyable Stay

Everything about this hotel surpassed our expectations!! Our room overlooked the beach. It was clean and was always quiet after 11pm. The Management,Staff,Food & Location were all first class. Our Thompson Rep. Sarah was excellent and always around should there be a problem. The hotel worked well as a 'Couples' destination with many different age groups & nationalities.More

Enjoyable stay

Just returned from a week at the Rocador. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard, though new doors to the balcony would have been good, ours was old and didn't quite fit! We had a room overlooking the chill out area and had a lovely view of the cove. It was fairly small but was clean and comfortable. The air-con worked well. The lack of storage, and also the poor Wi-Fi , were the only minor issues. The hotel grounds are very pleasant, though the pool area is a bit regimented. Had no problem getting sun beds and an umbrella at any time of day. The food was fine, tried the Tapas bar but were not impressed, and also the Al a Carte , which was ok - the lamb is highly recommended! The hotel is in the best location in Cala D'Or , though families with small children would find more to do elsewhere in the resort. It is more or less in the town centre which has many shops and restaurants, and it is an easy 15 min stroll to the marina, which is well worth a visit. The nightlife in the resort is quite low key. The hotel staff were ( mostly) very friendly and efficient and Sarah the Thompson rep was lovely. In conclusion the Rocador is a good hotel in a great location and we would be happy to return and to recommend to others.More
