The brand new Hotel Rocador has an exclusive location, overlooking the pretty cove of Cala Gran. It’s fronted by a curve of golden sand, which is kept private from the main road by a sandwich of rocks. From here, it’s less than a 5-minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Cala d’Or’s cosmopolitan town centre.
The hotel grounds are coated in palm trees, lawns and shrubs. The greenery gives way to a large terrace, where you’ll find a swimming pool and a bar for daytime cocktails. There’ll also be another bar just a few steps from the sand, which will stay open until late, and offer sweeping views of the Balearic Sea.
The hotel’s interiors have been styled in a contemporary manner. The rooms, for example, will feature stark white walls and bed linen, offset by colourful, arty wall murals. Each one will come with a balcony or terrace as standard.

this hotel is a disgrace like women running it! I don't know where to begin. our room was disgusting and had pubic hair all over the bathroom, I had to go to the local shop to buy bleach because they never cleaned it. the toilet didn't flush and the lady next door had no hot water. we both complained and asked to speak to the manager who shoved us away and was very rude! our room did not lock and the sheets never changed throughout the two week stay. I was eating breakfast and two large cockroaches ran accross the floor to my horror. the pool had not been cleaned and had a layer of muck on the top. I'd warn everyone never to attend this disgusting astablismentMore

Ok for the price.
I have stayed at the Rocador for the past 2 years and its OK for the price you pay. The food is alright and none of my family have had any ill effects from eating there as some would have you think from other reviews. Again its probably not going to be your favourite restraunt but i've had meals worth the price i paid for half board. If your expecting luxury then pay twice as much and stay somewhere else.More

the worst hotel ive ever witnessed!
Upon arriving at the hotel Rocador we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until 2pm in the afternoon despite this now being 10.30am and we had been awake since the previous morning and were desperate to get changed out of the clothes we had travelled in. we were informed the room needed cleaning and we could change in the manager’s office. When we finally were allowed in our room I cannot begin to describe the utter shock we were in. firstly in the room was myself, my partner and our 1 year old daughter. The room had 3 single beds all with mattresses that were either too big or too small for the wooden, broken beds underneath and with one stained, cigarette burned sheet acting as both a bottom sheet and duvet cover. How they expect anyone yet alone a one year old baby to sleep in these were beyond me. We requested a cot on booking and were given this? Secondly the room had not been cleaned in what looked like years not the hours before they had claimed. The floor was covered in a disgusting green carpet that was filthy and I felt uncomfortable standing on it never mind to let out baby near it. Thirdly the balcony door didn’t lock and was on the ground floor overlooking a wall that covered the beach so anyone was free to walk in and out as they pleased. And finally the light fittings were hanging off the walls with wires loose, not safe for anyone let alone a baby. We didn’t even put our bags down before going straight back to reception to tell them we would under no circumstances be sleeping in here. We were told by the lady on reception that the hotel was full and no other rooms were available during our stay. We asked to speak to a manager and were told she was out for the day and not available to speak to us.. We then went back to the reception and were seen by a manager who moved us to a different room after seeing me in tears with a baby in my arms. Why they couldn’t do this earlier is another question. So the room we were moved to was also a disgrace. A double bed with a king size foam mattress that hung over the edge, lights hanging off the wall, the barrier coming away from the wall on the balcony, broken air conditioning and the balcony roof caving in but it was still a huge improvement to what we were originally given. the only positive aspect of this hotel was the location, the rest is a total disgrace.More

It grows on you
Worried myself silly about all the bad reviews and first impressions were not good. The whole complex is very dated but hey isn't vintage and retro very 'in' at the moment. First the room was spacious enough but the decoration was - well think Butlins chalet 1960's and you're there! BUT it was scrupulously clean, good firm beds, adequate bathroom with gallons of piping hot water at a good pressure, efficient air con, adequate plugs, nice little balcony with great view over the cove. The public rooms dated but clean. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and the staff mostly charming and worked hard to keep things rolling. Rafaelo the restaurant manager is a dead ringer for Rene from Allo allo and always had a joke with us. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The indoor pool and exercise room are best avoided - very cold water and ancient equipment. The outdoor pools were clean, but it's true that the sunbeds could do with replacing. All around the complex there are sunbathing areas and there is a lovely garden area with lots of shade under the pines and palm trees. As Kirsty and Phil would say Location, Location, Location, and the hotel is ideal for nipping down to the sea or into town, both a few steps away and everything to hand. There is a lovely bar terrace overlooking the beach for evening drinks. We got very fond of the place by the end of our stay.More

"are you kidding me ?"
Booked this hotel two weeks before we went so choice was limited with half board, have been to cala d`or many times and knew that the hotel was not the best but with some positive comments on this site thought we would chance it. the good points :- good location just off town centre - view from room 1315 excellent - reception staff very helpfull. the bad points :- WHAT AN UTTER DUMP !!!!. Room:- shower dribbled warm water intermittently, only solved on second maintenance visit - shower screen rubber missing big puddles on floor - hairdryer brocken another visit to reception given spare - cracked tiles and flaking paint everywhere - furniture old chipped and dirty - springs pushing through beds, used old blankets as toppers - brocken grubby balcony furniture, never mended or replaced - balcony never swept, sheets never changed during week room sparingly cleaned. Rest :- pool areas rarely swept, never saw pool cleaned - sunbeds limp and filthy you could see the outline of the previous 500 users - bar an utter dreary hole passed through there on three seperate evenings and saw only two people total - threadbare carpet on stairs and hallways. Dining room (and the worst of all) :- run by a tall decreped inspector clueso lookalike who shuffled around shouting at his staff, who in turn shouted back, bossing and abusing the guests especially if they didnt sit where he told them , twice saw guys tell him to "go away" (polite version used) cleared tables by flicking crumbs and particles onto floor and seats then expect us to sit on and walk through the mess, all cutlery crockery condiment pots chairs tables where only fit for the bin. I cannot believe that such a place still existed and that peoples expectations are so low that they revisit it, i certainly won`t, and i advise you reader do not book it, if you have cancel and if you are a booking agent take this t*rd off your lists.More
