The Hotel Rocador has a beach on its doorstep and easy access to Cala d'Or's restaurants and nightlife.
This place has an exclusive location, overlooking the pretty cove of Cala Gran. It’s fronted by a curve of golden sand, and it is less than a 5-minute walk from Cala d’Or’s cosmopolitan town centre.
The hotel has just been made over, so you’ll walk in to box-fresh interiors. Everything has a minimalist feel. Rooms, for instance, feature stark white walls and furniture, offset by colourful, arty murals.

Have just returned having spent a week at the Rocador. The hotel and location is excellent. The refurbishment has been completed to a high standard, nice and contemporary. The fact that there were no draws in the bedroom, was a minor issue, and something the hotel are addressing. The staff are a credit to the hotel, always smiling and happy and efficient. Although arrived late, had a nice welcome glass of Cava, and surprise to find complementary bottle in the room, along with salad and fruit. Also had robes and slippers! The benefit of having the option to dine in Sa font (tapas restaurant), and the A La Carte restaurant, one each during the week was a bonus. The food in both was lovely, as was the food in the buffet restaurant, there was certainly plenty of choice, and never stuck to find something to eat. There are plenty of sunbeds around the lovely pool area, but are very close together, and they are always available no matter what time of day. Our room overlooked the "chill out" garden, where there are double loungers, because they are limited, these were reserved very early in the morning, despite several signs saying beds cannot be reserved. Not many were occupied before 9.00am!. An option would be to have some sort of monitoring of those beds, and if they have not been in occupation for an hour, the towels should be removed. Know this will always be a problem, and is difficult to enforce, but would be fair to all guests. The entertainment duo had lovely voices, and entertainment was low key, however, as they did not vary the way in which they sang, although lovely, did get to be a bit repetitive. The hotel is right on the beach, and is accessed via your card key, the beach was very busy, but it was August so was to be expected. 13 euros for beds and an umbrella, is what was expected. Cala D'Or is lovely, and the marina which is only a 10 min walk away is breath taking with numerous bars and restaurants. All in all, a lovely hotel in a nice resort, liked it that much that we have already booked to return next year.More

A great choice for laid back style!
This hotel is a modern hotel which still has a friendly and non-intrusive feel. The staff are efficient and never without a smile or kind word. There are plenty of sun loungers although you are often quite close to your neighbour. There is scheduled entertainment at the poolside but this is not intrusive and nobody is bothered to partake. The live music at the poolside in the afternoon is a great touch and the snacks and food are reasonably priced. There's plenty of areas to relax and there's a chill-out area with sun loungers overlooking the small beach. Hotel guests have access to the beach via private gate. The beach sunbeds cost 13 euros and the closest beach is small and narrow. It gets busy, hot and you have to pick your way to the seafront through towels placed in the sand- I suppose this is inevitable in August. We stayed at the hotel on a half board basis. It was great that we were offered reservations in the hotel's a la carte restaurant and tapas restaurant once per week as part of the package. However, the buffet restaurant was very good and offered good quality and varied meals every day. The rooms are small but comfortable. They are decorated in a bright modern fashion. The lay-out of the hotel is strange- it's a bit like a rabbit warren because you seem to have to go up and down stairways to get to your room. The location of this hotel is ideal and the clientele is attracts makes for a great venue. The resort itself is a little tired and does not seem to have moved on much in the last twenty years. The resort seems to contradict the hotel completely and did not suit us in the way the hotel did. We were surprised that the bars were not very busy considering we visited at peak holiday time. Many of the bars are 'theme' type bars such as Tiki bars offering bad cocktails in even worse gimmicky glasses or with parrots being dragged around the bar and placed on customers' heads etc. All in all, I would visit a similar hotel again and return to Cala d'Or in the hope that the resort catches up with the hotels which have been developed here.More

Very nice holiday !!!!
We stayed at the newly renovated Rocador Thomson Couples hotel for the first 2 weeks of August, which is located in the center of Cala D'Or overlooking a beautiful beach and cove of Cala Gran. We got the room that had a view of the pool. The room was very clean and spectacular. The staff was pleasant and helpful, especially: Mr. Miguel Rojas who is always helping khadi was to all bars (pool, buffet, mediterranean, sa font) .and always smiling everywhere & Albert in meditterraneo The downside was the ambience of the place, nobody ever Seemed to want to speak! Very strange atmosphere for a holiday hotel  The cold food was varied and plentiful, and the desserts were very attractive and tasty. The pool is very nice and the pool area is spotless with plenty of sunbeds available. definitely return next year A very special greeting to Ms. Miguel Rojas, Sergio Alberto & khadiMore
Fantastic staff, food and location.
A real adults-only hotel! We were really pleased with the location and all of the meals - there was always enough to choose from with some more exciting options each dinner time. The staff around the hotel were all very helpful and friendly - we had some problems with aircon etc but it was dealt with rapidly. The frequent going off of the fire alarms wasn't too pleasant! We think our room was located above the kitchen so we got woken up by weird smells the came from food being prepared - it stopped when the aircon was off but then it was roasting hot! I think it's worth being aware that when paying for a sea view room it's more of a partial sea view - we had a view of the beach more than the sea. Our main criticism was the lack of variation in the evening entertainment. The resident music duo were excellent but it would be nice to have some more interactive or just different things going on.More
First Class Holiday Venue
We loved the Rocador. It has been very well refurbished and our rom was very pleasant, clean and well presented. Could have done with some draw space though. The hotel facilities are very good and the food excellent value for money. The staff are its greatest asset - friendly professional and very welcoming. Its position with direct access to the beach was fantastic and we had a great holiday. Live music on the hotel terrace every evening overlooking the sea was also a very pleasant way to end the day. We would certainly go back and recommend it to others.More
