The Hotel Rocador has a beach on its doorstep and easy access to Cala d'Or's restaurants and nightlife.
This place has an exclusive location, overlooking the pretty cove of Cala Gran. It’s fronted by a curve of golden sand, and it is less than a 5-minute walk from Cala d’Or’s cosmopolitan town centre.
The hotel has just been made over, so you’ll walk in to box-fresh interiors. Everything has a minimalist feel. Rooms, for instance, feature stark white walls and furniture, offset by colourful, arty murals.
Everything about this hotel surpassed our expectations!!
Our room overlooked the beach. It was clean and was always quiet after 11pm.
The Management,Staff,Food & Location were all first class.
Our Thompson Rep. Sarah was excellent and always around should there be a problem.
The hotel worked well as a 'Couples' destination with many different age groups & nationalities.More

Just returned from a week at the Rocador. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard, though new doors to the balcony would have been good, ours was old and didn't quite fit!
We had a room overlooking the chill out area and had a lovely view of the cove. It was fairly small but was clean and comfortable. The air-con worked well. The lack of storage, and also the poor Wi-Fi , were the only minor issues. The hotel grounds are very pleasant, though the pool area is a bit regimented. Had no problem getting sun beds and an umbrella at any time of day. The food was fine, tried the Tapas bar but were not impressed, and also the Al a Carte , which was ok - the lamb is highly recommended! The hotel is in the best location in Cala D'Or , though families with small children would find more to do elsewhere in the resort. It is more or less in the town centre which has many shops and restaurants, and it is an easy 15 min stroll to the marina, which is well worth a visit. The nightlife in the resort is quite low key. The hotel staff were ( mostly) very friendly and efficient and Sarah the Thompson rep was lovely.
In conclusion the Rocador is a good hotel in a great location and we would be happy to return and to recommend to others.More

week in the rocador
The hotel was really nice staff were really friendly and helpful Sara the Thompson rep very nice
The only down fall was sometimes getting a horrible smell by the jacuzzi and indoor pool I would also like to mention to Thompson about flying with alotea they were rubbish flying out from southend airport we couldn't get a hot drink as they had no milk and when we decided to buy a cold drink had to pay on our credit card it would also be nice if southend airport could put butter in their rolls especially at charging £2.25 a time

Good for a quick short break
We recently visited the Rocador for a quick short break before Winter really sets in. Having stayed at a Thomson Couples hotel before we were looking forward to the high standard of accomadation and food. However, this was not entirely to be...Upon arrival we were pleased to see that despite not paying for a sea view, we had one. The room had eveything we needed and was comfortable. Our room was across from the Tucan Hotel and given that our room had a single glazed door we were able to hear their very lively enternatinment until the early hours. Hopefully the glazing will be rectified upon the full refurbishment. Breakfast was ok with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. We got our own Marmite from the Spa across the road, love it or hate it! Dinner on the other hand did lack choice, didn't always look edible and randomly included brussel sprouts a couple of times. We chose to eat out most nights but this was no bad thing, I just expected more. There is no outside seating for the buffet restaurant, a real shmae given it's location and views over the bay. We had a reservation at the Tapas and Mediterraneo. The Tapas was brilliant and we enjoyed a drink there most evenings. We waited 15 minutes to be seated at the Med restaurant only to be told that we couldn't stay there as my partner didn't have long trousers on. This is not detialed anywhere online upon booking, and wasn't advised upon checking in when they gave us our reservation. Most disappointed. The beach is close and the hotel has 2 pools. The outside one was not only freezing but also they had loud entertainment or music playing too. This is a couples hotel, a majority of which were younger than us, I don't think there was a need for house / dance music to be played while tyring to relax. However, the chill out areas are lovely and the indoor pool was great. Cala d'or is lovely, lots of shops, restaurants and only a 10 minute walk to the marina. I will certainly visit another Thomson's Couples hotel in the future, but unfortunately it won't be this one. It was ok for a cheap short break though and I think in time the hotels will gel into one more smoothly and some constitency will be acheived. You're nearly there Rocador, just a few tweeks required.More

Nice little hotel
Stayed here for a week in October and we had a lovely time. The staff are what makes this place, always smiling and friendly! Our room was possible the smallest in the hotel (1520) itwas missing the usual entry corridor next to the bathroom that rooms normally have and our door opened directly onto the corridor outside. But this was not a problem as we had a lovely view so we're able to see lovely sunrises and sunsets over the bay of Cala Gran. As mentioned before, the room needs drawers/shelving as did have to keep things I couldn't hang up in my suitcase which was a bit annoying.
The room benefits from a kettle and sachets of coffee and tea and the added bonus of a mini fridge which was great. However, we used our coffee cups every day but they weren't changed for a few days even tho the maid came in daily, which meant we were using dirty cups for a few days. Annoying but not the end of the world. The food was OK, I've had better however the a la carte was delicious. Overall we had an enjoyable stay at this hotel.More
