A beachside spot, a sleek pool scene, and a restaurant with lots of options make the Astoria Playa a great choice for couples.
Astoria Playa is just across the road from an eight-kilometre stretch of white sand. Then, there’s the good selection of restaurants within a five-minute walk. The waterside bars at Alcudia Marina, meanwhile, are a 10-minute taxi ride away.
The hotel’s inside spaces have a contemporary look, with chunky red furniture to offset the whitewashed walls. Monochrome colours, flat-screen TVs and spotlights carry on the designer feel in the bedrooms.

Me and my boyfriend visited Astoria Playa in June. On arrival, we were checked into our room with out suitcases brought up to us, unfortunately our view from our balcony was overlooking a road - I think this was bad luck as there was only a handful of rooms that would have that view. But we didn't mind as we don't go on holiday to spend time in the room. Room was spacious, although could have done with a dressing table? Somewhere extra to put things maybe. Shower was lovely and powerful. Food was to a very high quality, we sat outside on every meal which I would recommend. We ate out a couple evenings in local restaurants, lots going on outside the hotel. Walk to the Marina along the beach to have a bit more of variation. Staff at the hotel were very friendly, especially Anna Jessica the fitness lady! And the man serving the cocktails around the front pool! :) would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody! Thanks for a great holiday Astoria Playa. More

Number 1 Hotel in Alcudia !!!
My now fiancé and I had our first holiday together here. After a long consideration of which hotel to go to we decided Astoria playa was the one for us. Our stay was from 8-18th July, in room 506. At first we worried as previous reviews complained about this room as it is next to the lift and the maids cupboard. Do not let this put you off. Maids were about from half 8 and we didn't even hear anyone use the lift. The room had the best view of the pool, downside is you can't watch the evening entertainment from the comfort of your own room as it's on the other side of the hotel. I would not stay anywhere else in Alcudia, it's in a perfect location. Just away enough from the main strip which is full of the stereotypical English holiday makers but only 5 mins around the corner. The beach is also 5 mins down the opposite direction. We hired a car for 2 days and saw the sites, the roads aren't as scary as other European places and very easy with the use of a map. But I recommend this! The manager was kind enough to explain where the best places to go around the island where. So, back to the hotel itself... Ignore the bad comments, they're being picky. We always managed to get a sun lounger, do not try and get down early to put your towel down as they will be moved in busy periods. Breakfast was served between 7:30-10:30, typical English full breakfast, European foods and coffee/tea and water are all free. It does get busy at half 8 and can be frustrating as a lot of people barge in your way ( by no means the hotels fault ) During the day any drinks the bill goes straight to your room number. We also had food once in the outside restaurant but food is better in the main hotel. Tea time is 6:30-9:30, again everyone seems to go at same time. By the end of the holiday we ate around 8:30, a wide range of food and deserts were served, nothing to complain about. Previous comments about nothing matching, things can be put together if you put your mind to it. Me on the other hand shoved everything on my plate, had to try everything ha! Entertainment wasn't always amazing but we enjoyed the majority and it is a good atmosphere. Staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you, despite some of the guests being rude and acting like royalty towards them. Sanaa, juan & Jose were the staff we mainly dealt with, heard some very sad news about juan I hope he is okay. He made us laugh everyday around the pool! Thank you all for making our visit memorable and will hopefully make it back again soon! The holiday blues are kicking in :( Ainsleigh & Callum xxxMore
Stayed at the Astoria for 5 nights in May 2015. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted, a relaxing break away from it all. The room was lovely and spacious, offering everything we needed. The food was OK, and found something every night even though I am a fussy eater. The location is good, and town is a nice 20 minute stroll along the beach, to a good choice of restaurants and bars. The beach is lovely, and the shallow waters were warm even though it was early in the year, around 20-23 degC ambient. The hotel has limited parking (around 10-12 spaces) and the fobs for the gate are given on a first come first served. We got one on the second day, and felt more comfortable as the streets around the hotel are quite narrow. There are two pool areas and lots of sun beds. We never struggled to get one (but could be becasue we were off season). Overall I would recommend this hotel if you want to a relaxing stay, away from kids.More

Well what can I say about this hotel. It was immaculately clean had the most comfortable beds ever and the staff were second to none. To mention a few Monica who greeted us on arrival and made the start of our holiday all the better. She explained exactly what happened places of interests to see and how to get to these places also took lots time to answer our questions. Sanaa who was just lovely and greeted us at breakfast and dinner with a smile and a chat about our day. She is definitely an asset to this hotel. Lidia our waitress who joked about guessing our room number and what we would drink for dinner. Always a smile on her face. Last but least the owner who took time everyday to speak to people staying in the hotel and enquiring how things were and was all satisfactory. Off course there will always be something that doesn't please everybody but overall I would say the boxes ticked for us are 99% this includes excellent food as well. All in all I'm not surprised this the No1 hotel in the port of alcudia. We will definitely be back sooner than later. More
In sum this was a perfect hotel for a couples holiday with no children. As a whole the hotel and location was one of our favourite beach holidays and we would strongly recommend this to couples and adults of all ages. Starting with the positives of our stay; cleanliness scores 10/10. The cleaners and maintenance workers keep the entire hotel immaculate, which is consistent across the rooms, restaurant and pool areas. Even the lawns are continuously raked for displaced leaves :) The staff cannot do enough for you and always have a smile on their faces. Any issues are resolved immediately and nothing is too much. For example we had a problem with the door locking and this was fixed during our evening meal. The bar staff and Senna were especially friendly and made our stay. Food is all of a high standard and aims for quality over quantity. This isn't the sort of mass produced stodge often found in European hotels but has a variety of seafood and meat dishes with tasty accompaniments. Breakfast even offers 'proper' bacon for those who prefer back bacon to the typical Spanish kind. The restaurant is well looked after and for those who have an issue with gentlemen wearing trousers at the evening I would suggest that they visit a 3* hotel instead. Entertainment was of a decent standard and worth watching the shows although we alternated and went out to the port for some evenings. We visited early July and there was plenty of choice for sunbeds and the raised areas in the pool are perfect for relaxing and reading with no kids to splash your book! The only issue we found with the pool areas was that bottled water purchased elsewhere was prohibited meaning that they ask of guests to pay 4 euro's for miniature 'designer' water. Most guests however discretely drank their own water to avoid this. The only issue with our stay was the size of the room! We were unable to upgrade to a superior room due to the hotel's popularity therefore we had a corner pool view double room. Consistent with other reviews the wardrobe is only big enough for one so pack light! There is no dressing table for ladies which meant getting ready stood up and using the plug from the bathroom. A word of warning for hanging out swimwear also as an item of our clothing was stained due to the rope of the clothes line. Although visibly clean something stained through. To end on a positive note the hotel is beautifully modern and well kept and can only continue to get better thanks to the staff and management. We will definitely return at a future date.More
