A beachside spot, a restaurant starring Majorcan recipes, and regular evening entertainment make the Astoria Playa a great choice for couples. Inside, the modern rooms go for a streamlined theme. And in 2013, a sleek new pool joined the hotel's line-up.
The Astoria Playa is a real all-rounder. To begin with, it’s in a great location. It’s just across the road from an 8-kilometre stretch of soft white sand, 5 minutes from a good selection of restaurants, and less than 20 minutes from Alcudia Marina and its water-side bars.
The facilities at the hotel are impressive, too. For 2013 there’s a brand new pool with hydro-massage areas, plus a separate chill-out pool bordered by stylish Balinese beds. There’s a bar right next to the water, so you don’t need to go far for refreshments. When you’re not swimming, you can have a game of tennis or crazy golf.
In the evenings, you can tuck in to Majorcan and international dishes in the restaurant, or on the terrace overlooking the chill-out pool.
Bedrooms here have recently had a makeover, so you can expect minimalist décor, sleek flatscreen TVs and stylish parquet floors.
I don't normally write reviews but had to for this hotel simply because it was so wonderful, the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them, Monica was fantastic sorting out a problem we had with our transfer that was nothing to do with the hotel. There was always someone meeting you at breakfast and dinner asking about your day and if you needed anything. We were in the junior suite with a jacuzzi bath that was wonderful, the room was spotless and the bed was huge and so comfortable.
The food was lovely with lots of choice at breakfast and dinner and was nice and hot which was great as we've been to hotels before where the food is lukewarm because they're catering for so many. The sun loungers were luxurious, more like being in your bed than on a sunbed. The location of the hotel is great, its only five mins walk to the beach and a short taxi ride to the old town or the harbour which are a must to see.
I simply cant rate this hotel or the staff highly enough and wish we had been there much longer and we'll definitely be back.More

Excellent, Easter break.
Great location, modern decor, very clean. The staff are all very helpful and polite. We were half board- there was excellent , varied choice for both breakfast and dinner. Liked that it is 'adults only'. There is an option of two pools, one at the front of the hotel the other at the back. Live entertainment , different acts were offered every evening. Would definitely go back.
Really nice hotel!
We spent a week at this lovely hotel and will for sure return next year.
Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner are varied enough for at least a week. If you consider staying longer you might want to try something else.
The staff is awesome, especially Garcia, who was our waiter for most of our meals.More

We have just come back from spending 3nights in this fabulous adult only hotel.
This hotel is in a fabulous location, has beautiful grounds, 5 minutes walk from the beach, shops and bars. The hotel is spotlessly clean and all the staff are friendly especially Jennifer who is a waitress/bartender. We would recommend this hotel as you would not be disappointed and you can be assured of a warm welcome.More

I loved staying at this hotel. We dealt with Monika at check in who was great but really all the staff were excellent. I went with my boyfriend for a long weekend. There are two pools at either side of the hotel so there is always a sunny spot to lie out in. the breakfast is one of the best I have experienced, absolutely delicious and something for everyone. The bar downstairs had entertainment nightly. The rooms match the pictures, very spacious, I really have zero complaints about this hotel.More
