Tucked away from the crowds and with plenty in the way of traditional style, the Hotel S'Olivaret is definitely a case of hide and chic.
This place has a peaceful countryside setting in a sun-drenched valley of the Tramuntana Mountains. The infinity pool peers out over the forested landscape, and well-kept gardens also make the most of the views.
The hotel started life two centuries ago as traditional finca, and has held on to its old-world character. Think exposed stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings, and cobbled courtyards.

Hi everyone. We had a wedding dinner and it was great. The stuff are amazing and very polite. The food was spectacular and the views are breathtaking. I really recommend this place. Thank you very much S´Oliverat. IvanMore
Charming hotel in beautiful setting ...but some shortcomings
We spent 4 nights here very recently, stayed in room 3, adjacent to the bar and opening onto the bar terrace. This was our biggest gripe in fact because, although the walls of the room are thick stone we were nevertheless disturbed by loudly animated guests sitting on the terrace enjoying a nightcap! No complaint against those guests, they were on holiday after all, but it did spoil the peace and quiet. The room itself was huge with a separate terrace at the back with table, chairs, loungers and umbrella and views to the mountains. The bathroom was fine if a little dated, the shower compartment large but in need of maintenance (part of one door was held by sticking tape) but plenty of hot water at all times. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe but the chest of drawers was missing various bits of hardware which made 2 drawers unusable. The food was a definite highpoint and, as stated by previous reviewers, served by a team of charming waiting staff in a lovely romantic setting. We ate dinner there each night usually plumping for menu del deia but each of us did try dishes from the al a carte menu too. The fondant was particularly memorable. Wifi was erratic to say the least, OH never did make a connection to their broadband although I did manage on my trusty old blackberry! But it dropped off very regularly, I have no doubt the mountains round about were the cause. We travelled about by car quite extensively over the four days; the road to Bunyola through Orient and on to Soller has stunning scenery but many hairpin bends and droves of cyclists present an ever constant worry. All in all a very quiet and relaxed hotel in a truly magnificent setting.More
This is a beautiful, peaceful, almost idyllic hotel and I'd recommend it for a relaxing break with fabulous scenery and lovely food at very reasonable prices. The hotel itself is a warren of beautifully styled rooms and they obviously pay great attention to the decor and ambience. The restaurant, which we ate in for all four nights of our stay, served well-prepared and tasty modern takes on traditional Mallorquin dishes with a pleasant wine list. It has a relaxed feel and the views are spectacular. The staff here were friendly, helpful and attentive without being over-present. Our room was quite large with a secluded terrace and I'd say it was a very nice room, comparing well to other, more expensive, places I've stayed in Mallorca. Only two things let the hotel down - the lack of poolside service, which isn't really a big deal and the offhand, almost rude, front-of-house/reception staff. With one exception, a younger woman, they were unwelcoming, unfriendly and unhelpful from our arrival to our departure. Quite abysmal really when the rest of the hotel was so lovely and all the other staff working hard to make guests feel welcome. If it hadn't been for the can't-be-bothered attitude of the reception staff, I'd have awarded at least one extra star in this review. Someone really needs to get a grip on the reception staff and teach them that first impressions really do count. More
Wonderful stay by default
We weren't meant to be staying here but our original hotel lost our booking which thankfully I discovered the day before travelling. They arranged for us to stay at S'Olivaret & I am so glad they did. I was travelling with my 84 year old mother & we both crave complete peace & quiet. This place is a beautiful, quiet location. The view from our room (#25) was stunning & although we were above the entrance, the walls are so thick & the A/C so effective we didn't hear a sound all week even from a Spanish wedding held in the grounds one night. The staff were all without exception , absolutely wonderful. So friendly & happy. The food was excellent, especially breakfast & we ate out on the terrace every night as the food was delicious & so beautifully presented , I couldn't see the point of trying to find a restaurant every night with such superb food on offer. The pool was beautiful & plenty of seats for everyone in the pool garden A very rare & beautiful hotel in the hills but so handy for visiting anywhere in the island.More
Amazing views, tasty food
We stayed here in April. It was really nice and warm. The views were stunning. Only downside was that it was too cold to use the outside pool. Not to worry though - they've also got a perfectly nice (but much smaller) indoor pool. The jaccuzzi meeds more bubbles though... Contrary to the last place we visited in Spain the pool here had been cleaned which I was really happy with. It actually looked very inviting. The staff were very nice and friendly. They were very accommodating. One of the things they could improve on is offering lunch at the hotel. This may have been because it wasn't high season just yet but we had been travelling all day and were super hungry. They did find us some snacks and olives though. Another thing they don't provide is an iron. You can get it if you ask but it didn't seem like they were too keen on giving it away. So maybe better to pack things that don't get too wrinkly. The food was extremely nice as well. I thought the breakfast choice was just enough and the dinners were really tasty. The rooms were quite big - the bathroom was massive. The maids were good - everything was really clean. It wasn't too noisy but somehow we got the room above the entrance again so probably best not to get no. 13 if you don't want to wake up early. I would stay there again. I thought it was good value for money and good location to get to Palma, Soller or Pollenca.More
