Lovely friendly hotel.
We stayed here for a week, all inclusive and really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was surprisingly good for an all inclusive hotel. There was a different theme for food every night. Always something new to try along with the usual chips, pasta and salad. The rooms are a little dated but can see they're in the process of updating them. The hotel is up a slight hill but it's a pleasant stroll into town or there's a free shuttle service to and from the town/beach. We would all recommend the flora to anyone considering going.More
Myself and my 3 children stayed here for 10 nights at end of feb this year. We stayed self catering and it was a very cheap holiday about 800 for 4 of us with flights so weren t expecting too much but we were definately pleasently surprised. We did email a few months prior to get a sea view and were told they cant promise anything but on arrival we had a lovely room124 above the pool and bar views of sea and pool with a big patio area with a sunbed and tbl and chairs loved it. The hotel is in old harbour area with a 2 min walk to hypo dino and several nice restaurants el burro been our favourite ,a further 10 mins takes you to old harbour gorgeous area with top class restaurants and lovely atmosphere. There was a carnival here near end of our hols it was a buzz hundreds of spanish dressed up and a music festival a real treat. Playa Chico is also here only 10 mins from hotel we absolutely loved this beach we spent most of our hols on this beach .They have a diving centre and awesome rock pools for kids and tropical fish everywhere our favourite place. We found the hotel reception very friendly and also room maids the atmosphere was very relaxed we were able to take pool bar food up to our room and eat on patio with that lovely view which we liked and hadn t been allowed to do at other hotels we ve stayed at..food was quite nice and reasonably priced...we found Lanzerote very cheap for food entetainment and gifts everywhere we went the kids spends went a long way lols and mine😊.The only slight disappointment with hotel flora was entertainment it was on every night but not for very long we missed it several times because it a finished by time we got in also they changed times at last minute of reptile show so we missed half of that too sad face but overall this hotel covered all our needs was very clean nice atmosphere pools on both side were lovely although very cold but we didn t mind also loved the visits from the friendly cats that live in area we have 4 at home so we loved their visits.Would definately recommend this hotel especially for families we had a great time in Lanzerote.More
A holiday ruined
Where do I begin with this review? We travelled in a large family group. We booked a superior room and paid extra for the privilege as we needed a room with aircon. This is for health reasons. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered that the aircon hasn't even been turned on yet! The hotel passed the blame to Thomson's who passed the blame to the hotel however, I have screen shot proof that both the hotel and Thomson's claim the rooms have aircon and there is NOTHING stating that it's not until July. The hotel did not care how this affected us and offered us ONE fan. One! We asked for another so my daughters could have one and we could have one but we were told "only one per room". This is disgusting considering how much extra we have paid for aircon that doesn't exist and that the hotel lied about it in their advert. Half of our party has to take an emergency flight home the day after we arrived as without aircon their son would be ill. The hotel did not care. Our family holiday was ruined. Before we arrived we were informed the hotel were aware of the disabilities in our group and they would do everything in their power to help us. However when we arrived not one of our rooms were ready. My nephew has autism and my mother is disabled and in a wheel chair. Not one room was ready for us. My mum had to spend almost all of her holiday in her room. The pathways were too steep for her wheelchair. There is no way she could safely be pushed through the underpass. She tried twice to come and sit by the pool but with all the raised areas and narrow pathways she could not get her chair through. My dad tried to bring her some breakfast one morning as she couldn't face bringing her chair down and my dad was stopped and told off by a member of reception. Thankfully the rep sorted this issue which shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. The hotel offered to move us to an original room but told us we would have to sign a contract to say we were accepting BY CHOICE an inferior room to what we had booked and paid for. They didn't offer to refund the difference. They backed us into a corner and they know it. Our rooms were over flora 2 where there is a lot of work going on. There is a constant stream of builders all day but in fairness there is not a lot of noise from the tools etc. We were told we are welcome to use the other pool however it is like a building site and way too deep for children so we chose to walk over to Flora 1. Plus there are no facilities at Flora 2. No bar or entertainment or anything so you have to keep going back and forth through a very steep underpass. One other plus side of this hotel is we always got a sunbed and there were always plenty left! This is a first for us! A minuscule silver lining in an otherwise ruined holiday. The first week there were two photographers Mihal and Sorina. They were lovely and friendly and very professional. However the second week they were replaced by two male photographers. They were relentless and invasive. Constantly taking photographs and constantly asking around to take photographs. They were there morning, noon and night pointing cameras at everyone. The final straw was when one of them went INTO kids club and photographed the children in there for over 20 minutes. My daughters came out and said "he just kept taking photographs". Even they were fed up of it. They seem desperate to make money from the photographs, I assume they are paid on commission. I made a complaint about this. Kids club. There is a small language barrier with Amber the girl who runs it (though she is lovely). My daughter slipped over and cut her hand and Amber said "the floor is wet" and pointed out a puddle. We were shocked that she was aware of the puddle yet hadn't dried it up. I informed another member of the animation team (due to the language barrier) but it still wasn't cleaned up. The children can come and go as they please. The door is left wide open for anyone to come in. The kids club is very lax in safety and security compared to a holiday company run one and it has made us decide to only stick with official uk run kids clubs in the future. There is even a notice claiming that they animation team are not trained in childcare. Don't be fooled by the splash park! It's only on twice a day for very short periods! If you pop out you may miss it. One redeeming factor of this holiday is The food here is second to none. Literally the nicest food we have ever had on a holiday! The staff in the bar and restaurant are lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The chefs would pull faces at my girls and always made them laugh. The staff work hard and are always friendly. Shame the same cannot be said about the reception staff. The only two members we found friendly and helpful were Sandra and Aday. This is the first hotel we have been to that we would never return to. This is the first hotel we have been to the we would never recommend nor would we ever venture into any other THB hotel. This is the first hotel I couldn't wait to get home from. We will be taking our complaints as far as we need to. Luckily we collected all the evidence we will need during our stay.More
Just came back from an all inclusive week at the THB Flora. A group of 10, with ages from 10 to 75, we all had a great time. the food was varied and different every day and each of us found something that we liked and enjoyed. The apartments were clean and comfortable and will be even better when the refurbishment has been completed. The pool and the bar area was kept clean with the floor tiles being mopped many times throughout the day. All the staff were great nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to help. Lucie in the restaurant was great, she always had a smile. We have had a totally relaxing time and will go there again and the kids loved it.More
Basic but clean apts
I travelled with adults and grandchildren and stayed in 2 apts which were next to each other. They'd just been renovated so we're clean but basic. I rented a safe which they'd forgotten to install but it was put in that evening. The apts were on the other side of the road thru a tunnel which wasn't a big problem was was a bit steep for our 2 yr old grandson to come down safely. We were bed and breakfast which we were happy about because we like to go out to different restaurants on an evening. The breakfasts were quite good but a little frantic with so many people I must say though that the staff in the restaurant were great and running around continually to keep things going. The restaurant manager was doing a fantastic job. The pools were clean but a little cold. The children's pool area was the biggest problem. It was surrounded with sun lounges which were crammed in and the whole area around the pool was tiled. I lost count of the number times our kids and other kids slipped and fell just walking when the tiles were wet. This is a real problem and needs to be addressed. All in all an average bucket and spade holiday but the children's pool area would stop me returning. The staff at this hotel work hard to make people happy.More
