Lovely Complex ...Enjoyed our stay
Went here for a week..just back. The Bungalows have mostly all been renovated now with nice flat screen TVs and nice comfy beds. We had as I requested an upstairs one that had a big balcony and caught the sun at night before heading out. We stayed bed and breakfast...it was okay...no melon though..very unusual for breakfast and coffee not up to much but we always had something and on the plus side it was the tubs of yoghurt rather than those big bowls they put out. The location is about 15 mins walk into the main strip but the good thing is you can walk the other way into Los Piscillos and Matagorda. I recommend stopping at the Aussie Bar for a g and t. I'm missing the place already. Just beware there's some working being done at the main building with drilling noises. The other pool was quieter but no bar there. The food at the main bar was great and very reasonably priced. If this complex was bang in the centre it would be my choice all the time. Very enjoyable stay here so thanks.More
Been a couple a years since I stayed here but I have to say I was very impressed with the upgraded bungalows. Gone is the out-dated furniture and lay out - now the apartments are very modern with air-conditioning and new bathrooms etc. The pool bar has also been upgraded but I'm not sure if I like it (it seems too be covered from the sun all day and is very quite). Cleaning etc is excellent - recommendedMore
We spent three weeks in January in a bungalow. This is an extremely large complex (over 200) and when we first arrived we were quite a distance from reception and asked to be moved. The staff were extremely co-operative and moved us straight away. The first bungalow was one of the older style which was very nice, the second was a re-vamped one. There were fors and againsts for both kinds. The newer ones had large french doors but an extremely small kitchen work top area so if you wanted to cook you had to move anything you could, having said that, it wasn't a major problem as we ate out most of the time. If you did eat in, you had to eat facing the wall! The older ones had a far better layout in so much as they have a breakfast bar which gives you much more space and is nicer to eat on. Personally I preferred the older style and because they had windows and not French doors it was more private. Just a quick note that although most are bungalows, they do have two floored "bungalows" so if you don't want one of these be sure to ask. A very nice touch is that each bungalow has a built in BBQ for your use - just ask for a grill at reception. There are two very clean swimming pools and staff in attendance at all times. I have to say that if you want a relaxing holiday then this could be for you. However, we found it too quiet and there was absolutely no entertainment at the complex. Perhaps this was because of the time of the year. Even a little music would have been nice. The walk to the shops and restaurants in on an incline and although not very steep we found it tiring especially if you went down for breakfast, back up and then back down for dinner so if you need help walking I would recommend a taxi. All in all we enjoyed our stay but next time we would prefer to be nearer the beach and shops.More
AMAZING BUNGALOWS just like home from home!
If u can get in one of the refurbished bungalows, u won't wish for anything more, the beds are extremely comfortable and it is just like a home from home. The wardrobe space is unbelievable! sooo much room. The TV is a Samsung HD TV, 32" at least (not many English channels thou) and air con was included. The cleaning ladies were also amazing, cleaned daily to a high standard. Overall a beautiful place to stay on ur holiday and we will definitely be returning. We hired a car and went on the Volcano Excursion, apparently this trip is quite expensive when u book with ur travel agent but u can still get the coach trip around the Volcano's when u get there and all other activities without booking throu a company. We drove from 1 side of the Island to the other in 5 days!! Totally recommend hiring a car if u can as some of the sites are amazing, especially the surfers beach in Calletta De Famara! The rep at the Hyde park lane bungalows was Olivia and she couldn't do enough for us, she is THE best rep we have ever had and nothing is too much trouble for her. We also had breakfast included in our holiday and ive got to say that the quality and variation of food was fantastic. The location was a bit out of the way from the main town center and because I have walking difficulties, we did have to get a taxi to get to the very end of the strip in Puerto Del Carmen and we had a lovely slow walk back. We were in bungalow 97 which was really close to the main reception/dining hall. It was fully refurbished and we got told that the whole refurb would be finished by the end of July 2017 so we did hear a bit of noise. We got the sun in the morning and early afternoon, then when it got really hot, we had a lovely shaded patio area to cool down as there was still a nice breeze. The food in the 100's of restaurants was beyond gorgeous, a bit pricey but really good. You do also get a bit of hassle with the 'come into my bar' type thing, but they werent 'too' bad! Overall an amazing holiday and can't wait to go back.More
