Good value for money.

I have just returned from a two week stay at convo plazas. I travelled with my partner and three children aged 4 and under. Over all it was a fairly good place to stay. We stayed in a downstairs apartment facing the main pool which was great. The rooms were cleaned, towels changed and beds changed quite often. The cooking facilities in the apartments aren't great. The food at the restaurant is a little bit pricey for the quality. Yes there are a few cats but I was more bothered about the cockroaches. Any time they cleaned the drains that night the cockroaches would be crawling around. I found one dead in our cupboard. One in the toilet. One on the bathroom floor and one in the living room. The hill from the strip to the hotel is steep, but I suppose there isn't much you can do about that. We didn't go to the entertainment but it didn't seem very exciting from what we could hear. The security guard is an absolute crank... One night about ten past ten, we were having a laugh and a joke sitting outside, nothing too loud. It was aroun half ten, asked us to quieten down which was fine. Every other night there were children running around till 1am screaming all over the place. Also every night we went for a little swim, in the whole two weeks we were there nobody said a thing. On the last night cranky security guard gave us a warning, when we had been out of the pool for 15 minutes. Again we were very quiet and it does say after 6 swim at your own risk. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Couldn't get late check out because they were fully booked. There is no air con, you have one fan. That kept us quite cool as it isn't too Hot of a night. We had to rent two high chairs which cost 40 euros. And an iron which cost 15 euros. There is a swap box by the tui desk full of suncrea that people leave which you can take. As for the subbed situation, it's pathetic. We didn't get any sunbeds purely for the fact I refuse to get up at 7am and stand outside waiting for two hours till they unlocked. I watched every morning at the people stupid enough to do so. There are still plenty of beds left over if you don't mind being near the back. There is a lidl by the old town shopping centre which is cheaper than the supermarkets close to the hotels. We spent the day at Aqua park, not very well , maintained the floor was scorching hot. But the kids had fun. There is a Chinese restaurant on the right At the bottom of the road. The food is unbelievable and you get a fantastic view. Nicos was great aswel. We had a bbq on the beach, it was great, you can get throw away bbq at the market cafe at the bottom. Lifeguards are fantastic. Overall I would return but for the overall cost including spends, I could get an all inclusive to Mexico. They sell baby food, nappies and milk in the shops.More

Lauren L,

Perfect hotel

I came to cinco plazas with my son and partner and have to say it was perfect there was loads of pools so you didn't have to use the main one if it was super busy, we had a pool right outside our room which was great quieter, my son used the kids club we found the girls brilliant and very friendly!! The entertainment in the night time was great very child friendly! Would definitley recommend, if I had the chance I would come back! More

Jenny H,

underwhelming

If you are thinking of going here and staying in a studio don't bother you'll be stuck out of the way and all the sunbeds are taken by all those with a pool view. Most mornings when we came looking for a sunbed there were about 12 people actually lying on them and the rest were all reserved with towels. The place was also crawling with feral cats. The staff were pretty unhelpful. When I asked could we keep our room on they said no we're booked out and asked for a courtesy room was asked what time we were being picked up I replied 17-30 she said you can have it at 18-00.Allin all worst place i have ever stayed in.More

Fantastic holiday

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Cinco Plazas and would highly recommend for a family holiday. We were slightly apprehensive after having read some of the reviews but can honestly say we could not find fault. Yes, the apartments are basic but they are clean and very spacious. We stayed in a 2 bedroom located in the Plaza Amarillo and were very pleased with our room. Two large twin bedrooms with ample wardrobe space, big open plan living/kitchen/dining area and good sized bathroom. Rooms were cleaned a couple of times each week. There are three pools in the complex. One was located right outside our apartment which is where we spent our time. The only downside with this pool was that it did not have a separate children's section and so the kids could quickly get out of their depth. Lifeguards were extremely attentive and on duty from 10am until 6pm. The Thomson Kids Club was fantastic and our two boys thoroughly enjoyed the activities laid on. Each day there was a different theme so no chance of them getting bored. Kids Club leaders Silly Shannon and Lil Vicks were amazing and full of energy - big thanks to them for keeping the kids entertained! Kids club runs 10am-12pm and the 1pm-3pm (free of charge but with a maximum of 16 per session). Then three evenings per week there are additional activities/parties which incur an additional charge but are well worth the money. We did not eat in the apartments so cannot give a review on the food. Cinco Plazas are well located and a 5 minute walk downhill bring you to the main strip with choice of bars and restaurants. Our favourites were Pinocchios and the Enjoy Chinese both of which we visited on more than one occasion. Overall we had an excellent family holiday and have already priced to return next year. Please don't let the negative reviews put you off. Cinco Plazas is a great apartment complex in an excellent location.More
