Great location for a family holiday
We stayed here with 3 kids (aged between 6 and 14), we had a great holiday. Our coach transfer from the airport was around 30 mins but by taxi it probably would have been 10-15 mins. My family all enjoyed the pools even though they were a bit cold for me. Great location, very close to a supermarket (Hyperdino), a good restaurant (Spinnakers) the beach and shops. Buses to Playa Blanca, Arrecife and Costa Teguise go from nearby. Good sized accomodation - we had 2 bedrooms. Kitchen reasonably well equipped - fridge, kettle, toaster, 2 rings and microwave. Could of done with an oven and more plates, a cheese grater and more cutlery but we managed. Slight smell from the drain in the bathroom but when we complained to reception they sent someone within 10 mins. Apartments located around the pools, we were in the corner of the Amarillo area which worked well for us. Lifeguards by the pools 10am-6pm, most pretty friendly. Reception staff extremely friendly and efficient, they switched between spanish and english with ease and were also able to help guests who spoke other languages which was impressive. They helped us with bus timetables and booking a hire car which was brilliant, the car was delivered to the hotel and we had a great day out at the volcanoes, El Golfo and taking a camel ride. We didn't have wifi but we could have paid for it, i think it was 6 euros a day. Another option was using the pcs in reception - 1 euro for 10 mins. There are safes in each room - about the size of a shoe box, you can get a key for this for 20 euros you get 5 euros back when you return the key. The bedrooms have blackout curtains and the beds were comfortable meaning we all slept well. There's a Laundrette near reception - self service with washers ( 4 euros per wash) and dryers. All in all, a great hotel in a nice resort (we preferred it to the other resorts we visited) and we would recommend it to other families.More

Pros and Cons
Positives - Lovely clean apartment - we only saw 1 cockroach in a week which from experience is quite rare for the Canaries. The cleaner was friendly and did a thorough clean a couple of times, including new sheets and towels. Nice large pools, including one heated pool. Plenty of sunbeds and space around the pools. Very friendly staff - even the rep was visible for several days (we are used to Thomas Cook reps who are almost non-existent). Lovely resort with nice beaches and a huge selection of restaurants (Las Vegas was our favourite - and number 1 on Trip Adviser). Negatives - Entertainment - we came here because our kids like being entertained during the day. The one animation/entertainment guy was almost invisible. When we asked the rep and receptionist where he was, rather than chase him they told us it was up to us to find him. There was a board advertising all the things he was supposed to be organising, but he didn't do any of them! I wish I could be paid for a job I didn't have to do! 10pm lights out - if you want entertainment in your hotel after 10pm, don't come here. We were on our balcony at 10.40pm and received a call from reception saying a neighbour had complained. The place is a ghost town after 10pm, which is great if you have little kids, but be aware if you want somewhere a little livelier. They should make this clear when you book. In my mind midnight lights out is a more sensible time for a holiday resort. The hotel is mainly full of Scandinavians and Irish - not many Brits - be aware of you want somewhere catering for Brits, but wasn't an issue for us.More
This was the second time we stayed in the Cinco Plazas and both times we were given an apartment facing a massive brick wall just a couple of metres from the balcony. The first time we were changed and had a lovely holiday, but not this time. The main complex is very badly designed in my opinion, the architect has a lot to answer for. There are too many badly positioned apartments in the main pool area. The pool is huge but at the expense of the sunbathing area which seemed cramped to me, Iâd hate to be there in high season. The 2 other Plazas, with the smaller pools, are lovely but I was told by a member of staff that the Scandinavians pay more so they are allocated these apartments ! Unlike Arnie, We wonât be back !More
Perfect choice for the vacating family
This is probably the perfect choice for the vacating family. The apartments are nice with large balconies and the kitchen contains everything you need for cooking etc. The entire facility is very family friendly and lifeguards are present at the pools. All areas are kept completely spotless. All in all Cinco Plazaa are close the being perfect with only the restaurant pulling the place to below perfect.More
A great Easter break
My husband and I stayed here the first week of the Easter holidays. When checking in, which didn't take long, the receptionist acknowledged our email requesting a sunny, quiet apartment, and explained the usual details, and we were soon settled into the apartment. It was very clean and adequate. We chose to have breakfast included into our stay. Again this was adequate with a selection breads, fruit, yogurts, cold meats, and cooked bacon, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, to choose from. The staff here are a credit to the hotel, always polite, and always cleaning. There is nothing to dislike about this complex. I would not hesitate to return. We had a very enjoyable time and would highly recommend.More
