Had a great holiday here.

These apartments are well situated, although a slight hill when walking. Staff are friendly and rooms are basic but clean. Great pool areas and lifeguards are awesome especially Mamadou, kids love him. There is the usual stress over sunbeds but this issue is with the holiday makers not the hotel. The only downside I found was air conditioning, rooms very warm at nights. You can hire units but at your own expense and these are not guaranteed. Plenty of great restaurants near hand. Spinakers do a great Sunday lunch just next door to apartments and some great Chinese restaurants on beach front, spoilt for choice. Would really recommend The Island Bar in the old town for a good night of live music with Rory Gallagher and Pedro. Taxis only around three euro to here. Tried the paragliding on beach, although expensive it was good.Going back again this year again and looking forward to it.More

Marie G,

Needs improvement

This was our 4th year at Cinco Plazas, and it was no where near as good as previous years. Changes from previous years to this year: No drink on arrival Staff shortages meaning that there are long waits in restaurant for drinks, icecream, food etc. Cleaners have been cut meaning that rooms are cleaned less regularly, bedding changed once in 2 weeks which is not good in the heat. Towels only changed a couple of times. Half board option has been taken away including the buffet breakfast which we used every day in past years. Room requests not granted to some but given to others. Pool water filthy causing many people to have ear infections. Pool area dirty, fag buts, ash, litter on floor. The grounds used to be cleaned every morning which no longer happens. Staff were over worked, often with one member of staff to run the restaurant bar and icecreams Less entertainment throughout the day and evening. Thomson reps non existent or miserable. They looked unhappy most days and only provided kids club. Good points: The staff that have worked at cinco plazas for years are great, such as mamadou the lifeguard, sylvia on reception and David the waiter. It was nice to see staff that have been there previously. The location is great with lots of shops and restaurants near by. Marta the entertainment lady was brilliant and worked as hard as she could. The complex is really relaxed and you can please yourself. We still enjoyed out holiday as it is what you make it but we and many others who have been previously noticed that it has got worse since new management who seem to be making cuts to maximise profits. Nice apartments

Stayed here for a week in August. Was really nice ideal walk to the beach with 2 young children (3 & 1). Really helpful staff who it never seemed too much bother to help out. Rooms were clean enough but thats up to opinion. My only complaints was there was no a/c as they did get very warm, and that you had to hire high chairs which was a little nuisance. Other than that would highly recommend.More

Ashley J,

Thank god We had a good deal!

We only booked this 2 weeks before we travelled and had a very good deal, stayed end may/June I would've been hugely disappointed if we had paid full price for this. Pool areas lovely and a nice layout with 3 pool areas and all the apartments around each pool. We felt that the rooms were not cleaned very well our feet were always covered in thick black dust which then rubbed off onto the white sheets we ended up asking the cleaners to change the bed as it was getting filthy. A strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom it was disgusting. No aircon only a fan, no blackout curtains so room very light early. The apartments need a good lick of paint and modernising and cleaned more regularly because as for location it's only a short downhill walk to the front where all the shops and restaurants/ bars are. Excellent choice accommodation

I have recently returned from a week here with my daughter (age 18). We was welcomed very kindly - 24hr reception. The room was excellent. Very spacious & clean & modern. You are supplied with the necessary essentials & even a heater & large fan at no extra cost. There are 3 large pools & a kiddies pool which are very clean & attendance on watch. The only thing is you have to get your towels put on a sunbed very early or you lose out. (Many people had them for their kids who didn't even use them). The wifi is expensive at 18euros for 7days but make sure it reaches your apartment as the range is not good. The restaurant on site serves really good cheap food until 10pm. The beach, shops, restaurants & nightlife are only 5mins away & there are plenty to choose from. There is a supermarket only 2mins away. It is an excellent base for couples or families. I would definitely recommend staying here & I would love to go back. More
