10 nights away
My husband and I stayed in the Alyssa Suites for 10 nights, some good points and some bad, this is a totally honest review. I will start with the good, the bungalow was lovely, really good air con, spacious, lots of outdoor space, the only complaint about the bungalow which has been said many times before, the shower leaks really bad to the point where the floor is soaking wet. I do not understand why the management are not sorting this out, not only for the guests but the amount of water leaking will in time cause damage to flooring/tiles etc. The staff were all superb, with the exception of Darren the "entertainment guy", but I will get to him in a minute. The bar staff and kitchen staff work ever so hard and are extremely friendly. They kept the diningroom spotless and the food was really nice. You would have to be really fussy not to find something nice to eat every day. Having said that they could improve/change up breakfast a bit as was very samey and the lunch and dinner could have done with something a bit special on the odd night, e.g. a mexican, chinese, indian or seafood night would have made it much better. But you have to bear in mind there is only one diningroom/restaurant and they do try to put on a good selection every day/night. The "entertainment guy" Darren was really bad at entertaining. We spoke to him on a couple of occasions and each time it was very awkward. He is NOT entertaining in any way. At his karaoke, he does not give out a list of songs or a pen and paper to put people up to sing, he just says, if you want to sing then ask me, if you dont then you dont?? He then had his song choice for most of the night - not great either. There was a guitarist who was very good on the guitar but the song choice was very dated, the woman singer just made weird noises from the back of her throat and didnt seem to know all the words. There was a soul singer who was really good, the best of the entertainers by far. Darren seemed to do nothing at all during the day, there was a list of daily activities on show at the reception but nothing happened at all. The pool had a broken step during the whole 10 days with warning tape. Why not get this fixed? The middle pool floor needs repainted as you can see where it is all peeling away. Again why are the management not draining the pool for 1 night to sort this?? If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, this would be ok, would I return? . . . I don't think so, it was not the cheapest holiday and I feel it could have been a lot better with some changes.More
This is our second visit to this hotel and is still good. It's twelve months since our last visit, they have now added more sun beds. The staff are still very friendly. The rooms are very well kitted out. The food is still good but could do with being hotter More
Relaxing stay in a lovely hotel
Me and my partner have recently returned from our 10 night stay in this hotel, after reading reviews before our stay I was dubious... I needn't had been, this hotel is lovely and without being very petty I genuinely couldn't fault it. The staff work day in and day out in the bar and restaurant and always with a smiley on their face. Food was lovely with a good variation given having to cater for a number of nationalities. The bar had a choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages that suited most beer, cocktails, wine, spirits and decent cava! The rooms were very spacious and extremely clean and modern, we had a sea view so was probably luckier than the lower level rooms but still all looked lovely. The pool area wAs clean and spacious with no need to reserve sun beds maybe in the summer holidays but definitely not in our September stay. Tennis court and volleyball are both brill if you like the sort of thing. The entertainment is a one man show, and with the facility's feel he does what he can and definitely depends on the people participating on a evening. Overall could not fault Darren a lovely guy. I loved my stay and would definitely return 😁More
So far so good
Only arrived last night and so far so good only minor complaint is that our patio could do with a parasol as it's to hot to sit out so I am in the lounge. The room itself is fantastic with a brilliant view. I will review this hotel once we get home but I have given it 5 at the moment.More
Relaxing break ☀️
Lovely modern hotel in quiet location. We stayed here for 5 nights early September. Rooms/bungalows lovely and spacious and very clean, yes the shower leaked but not horrendous - just use a towel to catch it! We loved having our own sun loungers on our terrace however there were plenty of sun loungers free by the pool (may not be the case in busy seasons) Loved the freshly made cooked to order fried eggs in a morning just how you like them. Food was fresh and hot and replenished regularly - there was always a chef walking round and checking what needed restocking. There was a chef cooking fresh meats/fish and also a chef cooking fresh pizzas and pasta at lunch and dinner. Soft drinks/local wines/beer self service in the restaurant. The hotel does not provide bottled water but you can refill your own bottles/glasses in the restaurant or ask for it it by the glass from the pool bar. The only small negative we could find about the hotel was the evening entertainment programme which was not great. All staff friendly and greeted you with an 'hola' and the waiters/waitress worked very hard non stop! We would rate this hotel 4.5 out of 5! More
