Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada

The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada turns out a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.

When it comes to location, this hotel is hard to beat. The beach is practically within throwing distance, Rubicon Marina is five minutes away on foot, and the town centre comes in at ten.

Highlights of this hotel include a pair of large pools, a beach bar and a huge roster of activities.

Great Location!

I recently stayed here for a week. We stayed in a room with a view of the marina and breakfast was included. The hotel is large and takes a few goes to find your way around! Check in took a while but reception staff were helpful, we had no fridge in our room and when we requested one it was brought to the room within the hour. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable but I didn't like the narrow pillows. Breakfast was good, a nice selection and the omelette station was a great option. The best thing about this hotel is the location, we couldn't have picked a better hotel for easy access to the beach, restaurants and shops. The beach is at most a 4minute walk. Turn left at the gate and you will find the marina. Continue right past the beach and there's a great selection of restaurants and shops. We didn't use the pool or see any of the nighttime entertainment so I can't comment on those. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel for its location! More

Brilliant holiday!

We had a fabulous week long stay at Hotel Hisperia Playa Dorada in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. We decided to go all inclusive which I would highly recommend as the range of food and drinks available was great. There is a deluxe option available which had more branded spirits but if you like cocktails and trying new things then there really is no need... Why drink what you can at home?! The hotel itself is lovely and spacious with multiple seating areas both inside and outside around the pool. We were always able to get a sun lounger around the pool, however I would say to get the best ones go early! The rooms were lovely, I stayed with a friend and we had large twin beds that were pushed together to form a double (more of a King size bed), the bathroom was to a good spec and the cleaning ladies did a fabulous job, towels were cleaned regularly if required. The location of the hotel is great, it is a stones throw from the beach and just a few minutes walk to two marina's and the shops and bars. We would recommend the water sports at the beach, we decided to try out a banana boat at €10 per head which we thoroughly enjoyed and it gave us a few giggles! Life jackets were included for these and their seemed to be multiple staff on hand. The atmosphere around the hotel is relaxed and friendly, and from what we could gather the main guests are English, Spanish and German. Furthermore there are multiple excursions available around the Island which I would recommend for those wanting to see the culture, you could tour the north and south of the island and the volcano for very reasonable prices! Finally I have to mention the hotel staff as for us they made the holiday! Special thanks to Josue (bar manager), Chino (head of animation), Mars, Mahmoud and David (bar staff), Israel (waiting on in restaurant) and Hozai (lifeguard)- please excuse spellings of names! These staff were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble, we miss them now we have come home as they made our stay truly memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples, families and friends alike! More

So disappointed I have to write this review whilst at hotek

I do not normally write a review until after my full stay....however I am hoping that by writing this review on my 2nd night stay in this hotel might instigate some changes. I am a deluxe guest at this hotel, which I will admit is worth the extra money for the additional services received. However, I have to admit that the entertainment at the hotel is sadly lacking. There is a huge show room that is not used, all that it is used for is the location of 2 pool tables, air hockey and table football - the last two ate our money as there was no puck and no football to play respectively. My biggest gripe is travelling as a family I would like some family entertainment. The mini disco carried out on Saturday night was done at the bottom of the stairs in the foyer area - whilst the massive show room remained empty. Sunday night mini disco was non existent. Sunday night advertised a Latin duo as entertainment starting at 21:00....,it is now past 22:00 and still the Latin duo are not present. The only thing keeping us at the hotel this evening is the all inclusive package we have paid for.....there is nothing to entertain families which after a long day entertaining around the resort/po area parents would like a well deserved break. Very poor. Please provide some entertainment for children e.g. Magic, acrobats, bird shows etc..,. The Volcano restaurant is excellent as is Papagayo for lunch, however I am glad I have the Deluxe package as I feel the Papagayo would be a bit of a bun fight at evening times. The rooms whilst modern and clean are very small for a family with 2 adults and one child. The staff are wonderfully polite and friendly. I like the sun bed policy where no one can reserve a subbed first thing in the morning - however I wish this was continued throughout the day, in the afternoon there are loads of 'occupied' beds - yet no one returns for hours. NH hotels please contact me for further really are not using this hotel to its full potential!More
