Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada

The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.

When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are 2 big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Exceeded expectations

Recently returned from a 4 night stay in Hesperia Playa Blanca. 5 girls. Hotel was very busy. We went on all inclusive, not the "deluxe option" - not really sure what that is about and why they do this. Would not recommend the extra price upgrade for deluxe option. Food - its fine/grand. We ended up only eating breakfast and lunch, as the evening buffet was not what we were looking for as a group of girls. Food is ok. Breakfast, was a little disappointed that there was no omelette station but there is plenty of choice and everyone was more or less happy. Coffee and tea are a bit tricky, as its all self-service. Lunch was very good. great salads etc. Wine is included in the restaurant. Its grand. Rose is very drinkable :) Bars - staff lovely. Drinks very nice. All inclusive so that suited us grand! Pool - area is very nice. Nice pool bar with snacks and coffees etc. Pool beds were grand, towels etc. Need to keep your towel and pay a deposit. Gym - super indoor pool and perfect gym if looking to work off some of the food! Rooms - they were really spacious, very comfy beds. Good crisp linen. Really clean and big bathrooms. No complaints. Really had very low expectations but found the hotel to be perfect for the cost etc. Playa Blanca - found some lovely little restaurants. Lovely little beach opposite the Yaiza hotel. Water is crystal clear. Think we will be back next year!More

Emmadon,

AMAZING STAFF!!

I had a very pleasant stay last weekend at this hotel. Right opposite to the beach and very close by to a shopping center. The staff was very nice to us and helpful. I asked them to print out our boarding pass, and when they were not busy, they helped us out. On our check out date, we had to leave the room at 12:00 pm, however our flight was at night. We spent all day on the beach and we could have a shower in the evening at their wellness center and we could borrow towels, so that we do not take them home wet. Very grateful as a delayed flight with sand and salt would have been a nightmare. If I have to say a "but", there was no minibar in the room. Best: the staff!!More

Very happy with my choice

This is the first time I have been to Playa Blanca and I was very hapy with my choice of hotes. Jose on reception gave us a very warm welcome and was incredibly helpful and polite. We had a deluxe room which overlooked the stage and pool area, the room was clean and well equipped with free wifi throughout the hotel. We only ate breakfast in the hotel but found it to be a good selection and very tasty. The pools were large and heated to take the chill off. The entertainment was not our kind of thing but we were out most evenings anyway. All of the staff I came across could not have been nicer. The location is great and we even played a round on the pitch and putt golf course. The sunbeds were being reserved by guests but the lifeguard was trying to stop people from doing this....we did not have any real problem finding one even we arrived at the pool around midday. I would definatley stay here again.More

Lovely hotel in the centre of Playa Blanca

Only stayed for two nights but it was a very comfortable stay. Breakfast buffet is huge and there's something for everyone even had gluten free bread for my friend and we didn't need to request it! The pools are lovely and big. If you book a Deluxe room you get additional benefits such as your own private sun bathing area with a few cabanas but you need to be up early to bag one as they are very popular. Plenty of activities if you want to partake. We did aqua aerobics 2 days and the guy on the first day was excellent, the female instructor the next day, not so good but we enjoyed having a giggle and doing a little bit of exercise. The hotel is centrally located and heed my advice to walk three minutes to tge Hyperdino to stock up on water or sodas as they are less than half the price of the hotel. If you wish for a late check out, it is 6.35 euros per hour. We were told the hotel was full so couldn't have a late one but they did allow me to use the showers in the health club. More

Sandra K 2014OCT

Having stayed at the Hotel many times before I expected more of a change now they advertise Deluxe Rooms. Yes , there is new bedding , wooden flooring and each room has had a new lick of paint. Apart from that there is very little change. The location is still perfect . The pool areas have been sectioned off, a ''Deluxe'' area with Astro turf has been roped off so ''Deluxe'' customers can have exclusive use. However , there are never enough sunbeds. No waiter service for refreshments or special facilities. Rather a waste of space. The food is still OK. Nothing really special, but a good choice and plenty of it. Staff very helpful and friendly. Entertainment I felt was poor compared to other years. The stage area outside and below many pool facing rooms may have caused problems for people wanting to retire before 11.30pm. HOWEVER, after all my comments I still LOVE the Hotel, Location and facilities. I would say it would suit couples, families with young children and older people. NOT teenagers wanting a lively time.More
