When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are 2 big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

If in deluxe part of hotel nothing was too much trouble! Two tier system in operation.Basically lovely hotel and would return if all parts of same standard. Paid for upgrade to junior suite, but only extra was fridge and extra empty space. If we were to do it again we would book basic double room and pay for upgrade on arrival ,if unsatisfactory, rather than before. So good to be back!
We spent 9 nights at The Hesperia Playa Dorada recently and, once again, had a wonderful time. The mixture of staff friendliness and humour along with great service, great position on the seafront and attractive hotel surroundings makes this hotel a brilliant place to relax on your vacation! We upgraded to a deluxe room and it was really uplifting experience, not only was the room well equipped (we loved the wood floors and the big bed, along with super décor) but the views and extras such as chocolates left on your turned-down bed at nights made a huge difference. The food in the Vulcano restaurant was a really good experience with a great choice of main dishes cooked to order at the 'live cooking' stations at both breakfast and dinner ..... the entrecote steaks and the langoustine were amazing! I can only repeat what I have said before, this hotel has the best position in Playa Blanca along with great staff, excellent food and a great ambience ..... go and try it for yourself! We are going back in the Spring if they have space for us!More

RECENT GUEST AT THIS HOTEL
Just had a week at this hotel. I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews however I found the hotel to be very pleasant. Really good location and well worth what we paid for a week there. Would definitely go again. The only downside was the evening entertainment. The food cleanliness and staff were all up to standard. More

Hisperia Playa Dorado has been upgraded
Upgraded rooms are excellent, but wee tweaks here and there needed. Amazing toiletries in bathrooms. Baths very small. Love the fridge in the upgraded rooms - what a joy. Deluxe guests have separate dining room and a lounge where coffee and late breakfast is available. Perhaps using the room keys to access lounge should be taken on board instead of having to wait for Deluxe reception staff to buzz you in. Excellent location, through the garden takes you to the lovely walk between the harbour and the marina. More

I have stayed at this hotel on 3 previous occasions and have given much praise but, unfortunately, this last stay was very disappointing Two days of constant power cuts that disturbed our sleep because the TV kept 'firing up' when the power returned every thirty minutes or so. Was lied to by reception staff who said the power cuts were affecting the whole hotel when my sister and nephew were in a different room in the hotel at exactly the same time as us and did not experience even one loss of powerMore
