Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada

The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.

When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are 2 big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Jury is out!

Having just returned from a two week stay, I have some reservation over what the hotel and adjacent resort are doing. One of the major attractions was the tranquility of the area, this has been shattered by both the hotel and local bars which feel that inflicting as much noise as possible at night is entertainment. The hotel have relocated their shows to an outside stage which is both below and adjacent to hotel rooms. If you wish to go to bed early or have young children, make sure your rooms do not overlook the main pools. There are also two local bars which are next to each other with live bands playing over each other! Madness. The noise in this area is extremely intrusive from 10PM onwards. Also if you decide to go ' Deluxe ' these area's are adjacent to the main pools and the sound system at the pool bar is full belt over the lunch period and seems to kick in again from 5PM, Other than that, the food is good as is the location the rooms and staff but I feel that they are letting themselves down by inflicting all that noise on residents who find themselves located adjacent to the main pools. Noise, noise, noise..........put a sock in it Playa Blanca. I have had no reservations recommending the hotel to friends and collegues in the past, but I would now.More

not the same hotel as 6 months ago it has improved in all areas well done nh

Stay here twice a year last here beginning of 2014 and noted some improvements but this time it was obvious the management are upping the overall standards of the hotel The best improvement was in the restaurant staff efficient service prompt and food good.Pool areas have had small beach areas and play areas added.Bedrooms mainly updated although last visit we had a fridge in room no charge. This time we were allocated the room me t to the room last visit with no fridge. On requesting one we were told we will be charged daily for this. Needs to state clearly what each room has and what facilities are extra. All things taken in to account still a lovely clean and stylish hotel in a superb location pleased to see management have recruited new staff who smile and make eye contact some of the original staff were past their sell by date and to set in their ways. Management please continue to listen to your loyal clients and a reply to some comments may show you too are keeping up with the social mediaMore

Beach Front Location Classy Hotel

Hotel Dorada has the most wonderful position overlooking the sea & the PLaya Blanca Dorada Beach. It only has three floors and the staggering of the rooms make them very private & very quiet to sleep in. The staff make this hotel as they are both friendly & discreet from the lovely Reception Staff to Jose & his Bar Team & all the Restaurant staff you are really looked after & nothing is too much trouble. We now pay for the Deluxe Tariff as we are getting older & like that extra bit of luxury that this gives you. More

Exceeded expectations

Recently returned from a 4 night stay in Hesperia Playa Blanca. 5 girls. Hotel was very busy. We went on all inclusive, not the "deluxe option" - not really sure what that is about and why they do this. Would not recommend the extra price upgrade for deluxe option. Food - its fine/grand. We ended up only eating breakfast and lunch, as the evening buffet was not what we were looking for as a group of girls. Food is ok. Breakfast, was a little disappointed that there was no omelette station but there is plenty of choice and everyone was more or less happy. Coffee and tea are a bit tricky, as its all self-service. Lunch was very good. great salads etc. Wine is included in the restaurant. Its grand. Rose is very drinkable :) Bars - staff lovely. Drinks very nice. All inclusive so that suited us grand! Pool - area is very nice. Nice pool bar with snacks and coffees etc. Pool beds were grand, towels etc. Need to keep your towel and pay a deposit. Gym - super indoor pool and perfect gym if looking to work off some of the food! Rooms - they were really spacious, very comfy beds. Good crisp linen. Really clean and big bathrooms. No complaints. Really had very low expectations but found the hotel to be perfect for the cost etc. Playa Blanca - found some lovely little restaurants. Lovely little beach opposite the Yaiza hotel. Water is crystal clear. Think we will be back next year!More

Emmadon,

AMAZING STAFF!!

I had a very pleasant stay last weekend at this hotel. Right opposite to the beach and very close by to a shopping center. The staff was very nice to us and helpful. I asked them to print out our boarding pass, and when they were not busy, they helped us out. On our check out date, we had to leave the room at 12:00 pm, however our flight was at night. We spent all day on the beach and we could have a shower in the evening at their wellness center and we could borrow towels, so that we do not take them home wet. Very grateful as a delayed flight with sand and salt would have been a nightmare. If I have to say a "but", there was no minibar in the room. Best: the staff!!More
