Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada

The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.

When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are two big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Winter break

The weather was mild but that didn't matter. The service was excellent, the hotel comfortable and very clean. Enjoyed the deluxe pool area and dining room and having my steak, omelette and pasta cooked for me! Will definately returnMore

Lovely stay

This is our third time staying at this hotel, although it is ten years since we last stayed. Lovely beach front hotel, was a bit worried reading other reviews about deluxe guests , food etc... Well food wise couldn't really fault it... Food was hot, had variety and had most foods all other hotels have.... As for the deluxe we had a choice to pay for it when we booked. I didn't but didn't feel any different.... My view is: it's there if you want to pay extra for it, if you don't then don't worry about it. The staff were brilliant and the hotel is clean. It was a little cold at times but we have never yet been to a hotel with heating. Only downside the pool was shut and I can't blame the hotel as they have to renovate sometimes but I do blame Thomas cook for not letting us know before hand.... Overall a lovely week.... Shame the weather wasn't as nice...More

Location good, staff good, we will certainly try again.

We had stopped at all the frontline hotels in Playa Blanca with the exception of the "expensive one" and the Hesperia. The Hesperia runs two levels of service, standard and deluxe. We were not aware of this when we booked direct with the hotel and it was a shock to see no-go areas. The Papagayo restaurant which we were allowed to use with the standard service was very basic, the food was not appetising, there was no love, no generosity it let itself down. We had an issue with the food and this was dealt with by exceptional customer service, all credit to the company training. The room was a junior suite and we had no complaints, it was cold but we managed with extra blankets. This hotel is in a good position it is one of the older ones and in comparison with the others is not so plush. Having said that I would not rule out coming again but, only B&B. I did not like the segregation, to have signs up specifying "For Deluxe Guests Only" on parts of the sun terrace smacks of apartheid. If the company made this hotel one standard, gave it an update, improved the food I could see it would be very popular.More

Our stay Hesperia Playa Dorada

We stayed here from 29th January to 12 February. Did not looked much from the outside when we was dropped of but when we got inside was very impressed it looked more like 5star than 4star.We had a standered room it was good it was very clean and tidy.Beds was made every day (which we never had at other hotels we have stayed) and the toiletries was always plenty and regulary checked daily. The staff was polite and friendly.the Restaurant was big and a good selection of food no cause for complaint on that even though by the 2nd week i started to slow down a bit.Grounds was well kepted good size Pools which we did not go in as it was mainly overcast and a cool breeze to cold to go in,unusual for Lanzarote 3rd time we been to Lanzarote last two visits was hot.Overall we had a good time and we would Definatley go back to Hesperia Playa DoradaMore
