Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada

The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.

When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are two big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Amazing! Would go back in a flash!

This hotel is amazing! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was first class service. When booking I checked the reviews and there was a mixture but for anyone not too sure yet, it is brilliant and I will be returning in the future. More

2nd year returning and will return next year

Arrive home this morning from 10 days at this hotel. Had a wonderful stay and love the location of this hotel. Stayed in a Deluxe room and half board basis. Could walk 5 mins to a beach side cafe for lunch and a swim then back for a siesta by the pool. Dinner in the Deluxe restaurant was Dave and there were many choices. Always are given a complimentary Cava with our dinner and only ordered wine with our meal once, which we couldn't drink the whole bottle and they kept it for us for the following night. The staff are friendly and very helpful and their English is very good. The pool is great for kids (Albeit a little cool, they say it's heated but was much hotter last year) This was our second stay and booked with friends we met last year. We will most definitely be booking again next year with the same family and also brining our extended family too. The hotel is mainly Spanish with a few English. One of the things we noticed most is the fact, even though it's all inclusive and the drinks are free, you rarely see (never in fact) a drunk person. Didn't use the kids club as my daughter (5) made friends within 2 mins of walking to the pool and stayed with the the whole duration. A wonderful hotel and location which comes highly recommended, and very good value. More

Perfect Location

Not long back from a 10 day family stay as in a sea view DeLuxe room. We chose the half board De Luxe option as it allowed us to use two restaurants in the hotel along with the private air conditioned lounge and the balinese sun loungers by the pool. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the maid was wonderful and friendly, we did have a fridge in the room however, there were no tea making facilities which was disappointing. The hotel did not feel over crowded at any time and the staff were always very friendly, in particularly Amedeo, Vevin, and Mahmoud who's customer service was wonderful, Entertainment was provided each night and if you wanted to the hotel was well placed to walk along the sea front to either the town or the Marina. The Marina in particular was very pleasant with lovely restaurants and shops. Only a few areas they need to improve mainly the Wifi as my husband is self employed this made it difficult to keep in contact with the office, it was also frustrating for my two teenage children. Lastly, the De Luxe lounge which provides free food and tea/coffee for half board till 12.30 should be available all day. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay at the Hesperia.More

great location

Just back from 2 week stay in 2 ocean view delux rooms. Didnt get off to a good start - as a family with 3 children we had requested connecting rooms in advance but the hotel were unable to provide 2 rooms beside each other on our first night. We'd been travelling for 12 hours & were exhausted - waiting for quite a while for reception to resolve this, whilst watching everyone except us offered the complimentary drinks. However, subject to a room change on our second day we had 2 lovely rooms for the rest of our stay. We liked the delux option as we could have breakfast later in the delux lounge & enjoyed the balinese beds by the pool. However, despite thinking that the fruit & drinks offered in this area were complimentary, we were charged for our second set of slushes & therefore didnt accept any more. Wi-fi isnt good however & the computers werent reliable - difficult if you are self-employed & need to keep updated with emails etc. We were half board & the variety of food was good. However, as a vegetarian I was very limited. The salad selections werent labelled & it was difficult to determine which ones I could eat. Also because the fish is beside the salads people used the same serving spoons & I had to go to dinner very early to ensure I could eat anything. Due to the fact I was getting tired of lettuce etc, we decided to swap our dinner for lunch towards the end of the holiday. However we didnt realise that this had to be agreed in advance. Therefore we had a very embarrassing experience in the restaurant - after we had been seated & in the process of ordering drinks we were asked to leave & go reception & get a card to say we could change. Unfortunately I cant speak Spanish & the person asking us to leave didnt have great English so rather than just working off our room number for that service we had to leave for the entertainment of the guests nearby. The lovely receptionist did realise that I was practically in tears & sent us a bottle of cava. Despite these issues, we did have a good holiday at Hesperia - the kids club leaders - manuella, daniel, vaniety etc are great with the children & they loved attending. Maria in the delux restaurant & Grace our cleaner remembered the childrens names & were lovely and smiley. We also left a DS & my bank cards in the delux room & these were handed in by a member of staff & best of all my sons comfort blanket - left behind when we changed rooms, was miraculously traced through laundry. This last effort was worth so much to us, as we thought we had no hope of getting it in such a large hotel. The hotel is in the best location for playa dorada beach, marina & the town (& a lot less expensive than princess yiaza) therefore we would stay again.More

Amazing Hotel and resort

Myself and my family have not been abroad for a few years due to a bad experience putting us off. We decided to book the above hotel as my parents visited the year before and they decided to come with us. They told us how nice it was and that it was a lovely hotel. We arrived for a week on the 16th August 2015 and were very impressed with the hotel, the staff and all the facilities. Having two teenage boys the facilities and activities that the hotel provided were brilliant, ranging from archery, shooting, water polo, games room, 4 swimming pools and much more. The hotel was always spotless and the food in the restaurant was fantastic value for money. Another plus for this hotel was its location, it being right in the centre with the shops and harbour only a 5-10 minute walk and the beach only a 5 minute walk. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be visiting it again next year.More
