The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.
When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are 2 big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Just came back from a week here and enjoyed it. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room and could not have asked for better. The view was great looking over the marina and had a bit of shade in the afternoon our room number we had was 2127. The only down side to the room was the aircon was not very good and the room was always late being cleaned about 4:30 ish which was a bit of a pain if you wanted a siesta. We thought it was worth the extra going deluxe and enjoyed the late breakfast on offer in the VIP suite. The only down side to the hotel was the food we were there as half board but are in the restaurant the first night and hated it they had nothing right, from the room being like a canteen and the food was just bad. We took food back to the chef because it was not cook and he basically told us tough that's how it is. We changed out half board to lunch and that was a little better but it still added a lot of cost to our holiday having to eat out every night. But to end on a good note the hotel was good and we would go back but self catering. Would recommend. More
One amazing hotel!
This hotel was fantastic. If you are going to stay here it is most definitely worth upgrading to Deluxe. Food was amazing, service was spot on and views of the beach could not be any better. The pools were so clean and warm it was like stepping into a bath. We couldn't have chosen anywhere better for our second honeymoon.More

Great place to stay
Just returned from a weeks holiday at this Hotel with my Husband and 12 year Son. We return to this hotel almost every year for it's location. It is also a very nice hotel. The check in was very smooth. Really nice staff there on the desk. We arrived after 10pm just after the restaurant closed, but they said if we go and get settled in our room and then go back in 20 minutes, they had set us a cold buffet which I thought was a lovely thing to do. FOOD: We were on a half board basis. There is always plenty to eat and each night is a different theme. It can become a bit same ol same ol over the week but always plenty there to choose from. ROOMS: These have been decorated since we were last there. They are very spacious, basic but nicely decorated. Clean. I found the bed a bit hard, but that's a minor thing. POOLS. There are two different pool areas. The one round the back of the hotel is a bit quieter, and you can always find a sunbed. The pools round the other side of the hotel out towards the beach have had a make over. There is a 'Deluxe' area. They have also added a sandy area. There are 3 pools here and all are really nice. SETTING: The hotel is just across from a nice little beach area. There is a nice Bar there, worth a visit. The walk into town is about 15 minutes slow mooch and the other way is the Marina about 10 mins slow mooch. Great place to look around. A few designer shops. The market it there on a Wednesday and Saturday. Well worth a visit. If you have kids, take some bread and feed the fish. There are some bigguns!!! All in all I would definately recommend this hotel and we will definately be going back.
NOTE FOR MANAGEMENT: If kids are not allowed inflatables and ball games in the pool, you need to put up some signs to say this. Well done though for removing peoples towels that go out in the morning and try to reserve all the sunbeds. Unfortunately this stay I had to complain about the milk being off in the restaurant. I also had to point out that the top of the jugs needed a clean. I don't expect this at your 4* hotel. Last niggle. What has happened to some of the restaurant staff? Have you told them that they are not allowed to interact with the guests or smile? I just feel that this time they were all miserable and were in need of some happy pills!! Can I also add, please do not put so much focus on your Deluxe guests that you forget about your regular guests. :-) See you next year.More
Yet another fabulous stay at Hesperia Playa Dorada!
This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and we will be returning again and again in the future, we had booked a junior suite as we have two children aged 15 & 10, we emailed the hotel prior to our stay as we wanted to request a junior suite with 4 single beds as opposed to the 2 double beds which they also offer in the junior suites, our request was dealt with brilliantly, the reception staff assured me that they would try their best to accommodate and they certainly did just that for us, a great start to our holiday, thank you! We stayed room with breakfast as usual and we did not feel the need to book deluxe, we did not witness any difference in treatment from any of the staff members whatsoever, everyone is treated the same, deluxe or not! I also have to mention the superb hospitality received from Joshua, Jose and Mercedes who serve the Bar Atlantic, ALL of the staff are so friendly but I cannot remember all their names, apologies. Cocktails are made to perfection and are delicious as were the other drinks we enjoyed, service was prompt and always with a smile from the hard working staff. This was our childrens first visit to the hotel and they loved it, they were more than happy with the food served at breakfast, especially my 10 year old son, who loves his food! We always enjoy eating out in the evenings so cannot comment on evening meals in the hotel restaurant, entertainment is ok and what you would expect in a hotel, the company behind the bar and around the bar was good enough for us.We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, everything was as we had expected it to be and in no way at all were we disappointed, we always feel at home in this hotel and will keep returning as long as we are welcome. Thank you to Hesperia Playa Dorada and all the staff, see you next year!More

We spent two weeks here in September and a very relaxing time. We chose the Deluxe option with breakfast only. The downstairs restaurant was better for breakfast where there was a better choice of food . This package also ensured that us beds were available at all times in the dedicated area around the pool -so no early rising to reserve a sun bed which is a big plus! The hotel was very clean, well maintained and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was perfectly situated being between the Town and the Marina and just minutes from the beach.
