The Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is well set up for couples and families, with a great pool scene and a location that’s close to the beach and marina.
When it comes to location, the Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada is hard to beat. There’s a sandy beach 2 minutes’ walk away and the shops and yachts at Rubicon marina take just over 5 minutes to reach on foot. You can also walk along the prom to the town centre – it’ll take about 10 minutes. At the hotel itself, the pool scene definitely deserves a mention. There are two big pools – one’s criss-crossed by little bridges, while the other’s next to a pair of children’s pools. There’s also an al fresco bar serving salads, sandwiches and snacks. Inside, there’s a buffet restaurant with local and international dishes, and a wellness centre with a pool, hot tub and sauna. As for keeping busy, there’s a list of activities that includes archery and boules, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, and a gym. After dark, meanwhile, you’ve got live entertainment and a nightclub.

Cannot Fault this Hotel
My wife and i stayed at this hotel from 1st March for 10 nights. We could not fault this hotel in anyway. It was spotless, Towels changed daily, all the staff very friendly. Far more sunbeds round the pool than guests. The food was varied and spot on. If you have a beer in the restaurant make sure you ask for a glass with a handle. Otherwise you will pay for a pint and get less than a half pint.More
Reception staff let down Excellent hotel
Just returned from 7 days holidays which we enjoyed despite the bad weather. The hotel is very central between the Marina and the Port with an excellent oceanside walkway between both with super "watering holes " en route. We booked a standard room with sea views and balcony. The room we got was very clean and had partial views of a pool and a roof, and if you had a ladder you could see the sea. We did not complain because friends of ours had the same problem and the reception staff were far from accomodating with them. The Staff adopted a negative approach to every query even to the point of producing a copy of the "rules" to refuse us an early breakfast when we were leaving as we were 10 minutes late ordering same.Usually the attitude of Reception Staff reflect how an hotel is run but thankfully not in this case.We found the Dining Room and Bar staff very cheerful and helpful and they all interacted well with the Guests and made them welcome. One bar girl (dark hair ,glasses and pony tail) was excellent and went to great lengths to be cheerful and interactive which she combined with being super efficient and professional.Apart from the Reception the hotel is very good .There are no shortage of pools and there is also an indoor one .the food is copious and varied and to a very high standard. The hotel has a 9 hole pitch an put course and I defy anyone to get around under par. All in all I would return as the Hotel itself is excellentMore
good hotel in a great location
We have stayed at this hotel twice ,(normally we stop at the h10 Lanzarote princess but this hotel was becoming to expensive for what was on offer ) this hotel represents very good value for money ,depending on the amount you have paid to stay here . We booked a deluxe room via thomas Cook because it only cost £20.00 more ,for the people who moan and complain about a two tier system at the hotel ,please note that most hotels now offer this kind of service ,as do flight upgrades, first class train travel, better cabins on board a ship,so please stop complaining. We have found the staff to be very helpful and the majority always greet you with a smile and a good morning /afternoon/evening we cannot say we came across a grumpy staff member. The food quality is slightly above standard spanish hotel offering, the only thing they fall down on is the speed of food replenishment, the choice of food is again your standard spanish fare,we haven't come across the problem of Luke warm food on offer ,mainly because most food is cooked for you and in front of you. The rooms are of a good quality, the beds are much better than most we have come across in tourist resort hotels. The bar service is very good ,can't say about entertainment as we always venture out. This hotel is in a excellent posistion, the ports close by to the left and right, shops and bars also close by as is the beach. To summerise ,if you pay around the £900 to £1000.mark for a week in March time for half board then it's great value for money,if you go all inclusive then it probably is not but that is the case in most hotels . The only gripe you could really have ,is that the wifi is very poor (mind you I can live without the web for a week) the tv is of standard offering IE: bbc world news sky news (but again I can live without tv for a week ,after all I'm on holiday) . We will return to this hotel again.More

Relaxing and rejuvenating
We found that this hotel was so well run and all the staff were very helpful which meant we had one of our best ever holidays. It is very conveniently placed between both harbours which in turn have a very good selection of bars and shops.More
