I have just returned for a week stay in a standard room. Having read about the Deluxe package I was slightly anxious as we had booked the standard package but needn't have worried.
Our room was excellent and although it didn't have a sea view it did look over the gardens which were nice and they had morning sun. At breakfast there was a good range of food and we had no problems getting a table and something nice for breakfast.
Deluxe guests could eat on the 'grassed' area outside the main restaurant but they also had their own restaurant in another part of the hotel.
We found the pools cold but there were plenty of sunbeds for us to use, including some in a sandy area. People seemed to leave their towels and belongings at the sunloungers while they went off to eat lunch which meant many were not available as they were 'reserved' - I would like the hotel to consider some sort of way to prevent this as rows of sunbeds were not available over lunchtime. Deluxe guests had their own grassed area with nice sun loungers but our area was more than adequate.
The hotel is excellently located half way between Rubicon Marina and the main Playa Blanca restaurants - both 10 mins walk at most. As we were B&B we ate in the Playa Blanca restaurants each night - dinner was approx 30 Euros for 2 people.
I found the hotel was very good for non-Deluxe guests and in fact the Deluxe option reduced numbers in the restaurant and around the pool as they had their own area.More
What an amazing hotel.
The staff were so friendly and could not do enough to help us.we did go for the deluxe but it was worth every penny. Food was excellent and a good variety. Special area of deluxe sunbeds and staff to see to your every need. Entertainment every night. My daughter took ill with a serious water infection and the receptionist had a doctor out to see her within 15 minutes. He gave her an injection and another one for the next 4 days and then she was fit again. Will definitely be going back.More

Pros and cons
I have just returned from a weeks break with my husband, the hotel is nice, staff are friendly and helpful. The food was good and plentiful. We booked deluxe but confused as to what it means, the room was ok, not deluxe as I was expecting,we had a different check in,different restaurant and different sunbathing areas and free access to the sauna and steam room. My husband used the sauna everyday, but as men and women had to use separate rooms I did not use them, sitting on my own in a steam room is not for me. I tried to use the jacuzzi once, but was asked to leave as I wasn't wearing a bathing cap, a little embarrasing as I was asked to leave. The entertainment left a lot to be desired, lots of tribute bands, bingo and karaoke. The hotel is located by the beach, and there's a lovely walk along the seafront and has nice shops and cafe's. This maybe a hotel for some, however I won't be returning.More

Wonderful Holiday at a superb Hotel
Just had a wonderful peaceful holiday at the Hesperia Playa Dorada hotel in Lanzarote Playa Blanca, firstly our flight took off on time, transfer to hotel was perfect and the reception staff at the hotel were very professional and courteous, our room was more than we expected with four beds and a great sea view, the food was very good and drinks selection was great we were on a weeks all inclusive package with our grandson he was very disappointed when we had to pack for home he thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful our room was cleaned and serviced every day and I would like to thank all the staff for making our stay very pleasing, Just one observation (not a complaint) I do feel that topless sunbathing at a family holiday hotel should be discourage or a separate area designated should ladies feel the need to sunbathe topless. Anyway many thanks to Jet 2 and the hotel for a wonderful week.More
