We have just arrived back after a week at this resort. We stayed on the island part of complex in a one bedroom apartment with 2 adults and 2 children and this was more than enough room for us. The only thing I would say is there is not enough storage for clothes etc as only one wardrobe between us all. We stayed in a premium room which was very nice and clean. We were self catering but upgraded to all inclusive for our last 3 nights which was worth doing. For the 3 days we were all inclusive we were impressed with the food due to our previous experiences with all inclusive. Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice from cereal, cooked breakfast and a chef making fresh eggs, pancakes or omelettes. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, meats, bread and yoghurt. Dinner is themed nights and out of the 3, 2 were very nice. They always had a chef making fresh pizzas as well as meat. Puddings were different every night again with fresh fruit. There are plenty of pools around the complex with sun beds. The main pool was a good place to be, with the bar pool next to it. Again this is a large area with plenty of sun beds around where you can move them to where you want them. We always found a place with no problem. The bar here could get busy but this is due to it being where you get the snacks from which were good, chicken nuggets, burgers, hot dogs, slices of pizza etc. These were a reasonable price for self catering people. The drinks however were over priced. The animation team were brilliant, always happy and friendly. They would always say hello to you and ask how you are. They make you feel very welcome and so great with the children. They work long hours and are a credit to the hotel. Entertainment was very good, they did a kids disco first and then there was an act/show each night where we saw some really good acts. My only big negative about the hotel is the amount of time you have to que for a drink on the evening at the dome. You would arrive and have to join the que straight away where this could be up to 30 minutes! This is not the bar mans fault as he was doing is very best and with a smile, this is due to there only being him! My advice is to double up as that's what everyone did to stop having to join the dreaded que again. On another note, they make some very good cocktails, where if your all inclusive you get 50% discount on them. These are not the machine cocktails. A good tip as well get the gate key, if you are planning to go into the town as shortens your walk. The town has some very nice restaurants at good prices as well. The tavern is an English bar with nice food and cocktails, friendly staff as well. We also ate at the royal Chinese which was a buffet, very good for children to try new food and had a good selection. We didn't use the adults only pool but from what we saw it looked very nice. Yes there is work being done but this did not disturb us at all and will only make this an even better complex. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend to families. More

AMAZING PLACE IGNORE BAD REVIEWS!
I have just returned from Tropical Island after a 10 night stay with my family and we will definitely be returning! The hotel has fantastic facilities, loads of pools, loads of things for the kids to do, a shop, splash park etc. The staff were brilliant very friendly & always happy to help, Jaime the bar man is an absolute gem! Both the day & evening entertainment were brilliant & the animation team were great! Ancor is amazing, he made sure everyone was involved and having fun! The food was gorgeous & always plenty of options, the drinks available on all inclusive were also fab! The apartment was lovely, had great facilities, modern & clean. Loved the fact each group of apartments had either its own pool or park for kids. There is currently renovations being done however this did not have any affect on our stay. The hotel grounds are stunning! I would highly recommend this hotel for families with young children! Thank you for giving us an amazing holiday to remember, we will be back soon!More
The worst ever!
Terrible place. I've seen Russian prisons more welcoming. Horrible rooms, food, pools and amenities and all play equipment looks dangerously out of shape. Staff is rude and totally useless and unhelpful. Stay away from this place. You'll get a better deal sleeping rough on the beach!More

I am currently here now and the place itself is a wee gem... only negative thing and its something that needs sorted asap is the queues in the dome at night.. now the dome is were the night time entertainment is held so you can imagine it gets v busy... now before i came i expressed my concerns about negative reviews about queues and the hotel answered saying the have enough staff to cover rush hour periods... well that was complete lies.. if one bar man serving 300+ guests is not counted as rush hour i dont know what is, i have spoke to loads of familys whilst standing in the queue and everyone is so frustrated and all have said it has literally ruined their holiday.. no point in waiting for hotel to sort this as in my eyes they dont care... rant over. #disgrace.More
I have just come back from a week's stay on an all inclusive basis. We all had an amazing time and would highly recommend this hotel. I only have a few minor gripes. The food in the buffet style restaurant was plentiful and excellent quality. I particularly liked the 'egg chef'. One of the chef's on the hot food section was very rude. When I asked for an extra bit of chicken ( for my kids) he slammed it on my plate! This is the only negative thing about the restaurant. One night we had a pizza in the Italian restaurant. They looked lovely however the pizza dough wasn't cooked properly in the middle and was raw. This gave myself and my husband an upset stomach. My daughter has pasta boolgnaise this was lovely. The ice cream had been left out too long and was like liquid. I would avoid going here. The service wasn't great either. We all loved the swimming pools particularly the adults only pool. The sun loungers were plentiful. I found the whole complex very clean. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and was very well equipped. The animation team were good and 'not in your face'. My kids tried the kids club and enjoyed it. The pool bar was very busy at times and the staff looked over worked but very still friendly. I would have liked some healthy snacks such as fruit or even cake/biscuits. Everything on offer was deep friend and came with chips even when we asked for no chips. They do salads but who wants to snack on salad! The complex is about a mile walk from a lovely sandy beach. There is renovation work on going but this wasn't a problem for us. I saw it as a positive that they are updating/ maintaining it. I would definitely come back next year as all inclusive. It was a great value for money. The premium up grade is also worthwileMore
