Fab family holiday!!!!
Had a great 14night ( 22/06/17 - 06/07/17 ) stay here with my 2kids and my partner . Was a bit wesry after reading all the reviews but glad we came . On arrival we were greated by a lovely man never caught his name he showed us to our room and told us to pop back in 30mims for packed lunches as we had just missed dinner. We were given a 1bed room premier apt which was lovely kids had the room and partner and i on pull out beds . Had shower over bath and must say the shower was fab!!! Bath towels and hand towels changed every 3rd day on few occasions we needed changed before hand called receptiom and maid brought them within 10mins. Rooms cleaned everyday beds were changed every 3rd day . We had a little play park outside our apt which my kids (4&8) loved to go play at while we got ready. Main pool was nice where all the entertainment happens too we ended up after first week just going to the smaller popl next to our apt as was a little quiter for kids . Kids club durimg day was great for getting kids a time a out the sun , all the staff were lovely. Entertainmrnt at night was also great esp the variety show Pablo from animation team have to say he was amazing with the kids! The food in the resteraunt was great always something for everyone and i am a very fussy eater and always found somethimg every night . Thanks to everyone at tropical island for lovely stay we cant wait to come back More
I would recommend this hotel to anybody. The rooms are perfectly proportioned with bedroom, bathroom with shower over bath, living area with pull out bed and kitchenette inc fridge. We had a late flight so the picnic bag and water were great and the complimentary dressing gown was just what we needed when we arrived. A large balcony with table and chairs along with the sun was nice to wake up to. Large selection of different foods and massive salad bar and breads means theres something for everyone to eat. The pool is a great size with a couple of slidesand as its L shaped you can choose if you want a bit of a breeze whilst sunbathing or not. The italian restaurant which you need to book in advance has limited menu just 2 pasta dishes and pizzas and is very warm but is ok for a change. The complex itself is lovely. Each cul-de-sac has either a pool, play area or seating area. Also a couple of small padfling pools and an ault only pool. Theres a pond with a bridge with carp in which we enjoyed feeding and also some tortoises. I recommend you get the back gate key fob which makes it a pleasant walk into town. Pool bar food is lovely some really nice boxed salads along with burgers pizzas nuggets chips etc. All in all a nice place with lovely staff. Thanks for a fab holMore
Nice hotel with poor food
It was a family stay. Hotel is located within walking distance from the coast (15 min walk). Offers nice pools and quite good acommodation conditions. We were supposed to receive newly renovated 2 bedroom suite. The one we finally had was not bad but deffinitely not brand new-furnitures were damaged (heavely scratched). Food created mainly for British guests. Lack of fresh fruit, tasty fish, too much fast food in menu, desserts very poor. Restautrant looked like nice employee canteen not as like restaurant in the 4* hotel. Service ok but without any WOWs.More

We stayed self catering.
Hi, we have just returned from Tropical Island and stayed self catering. OK for breakfast and Lunch, but it took 50 minutes to heat hot dogs on hottest ring. The hotel does have 14+ pools. What you are not told is the depth of the pools. 80% are 1.5m and the others 0.40m. And none are heated, so it's a bit cold in the large pools. The main pool has a 0.40m pool going into a 1.5m pool with no barrier. Our child jumped into the jacuzzi pool. No depth or rail around. Floors very slippery. Plenty of loungers etc. The rooms have just been refurbished. The beds are comfortable. Maid five times a week. However the pull out bed is annoying. Ever night you will hear your neighbours pulling the bed out at about 11.30pm. The kitchen could do with more equipment. Lack of cupboard space. Large bath/shower. Now for the bits that needs improvement. OK a snack bar is not burger and chips. Hence queues for food around pool. The toilets around pool are not good. No lighting, no hand driers, not clean, and poorly signed. The ONE toilet around the big pool is a joke. Downstairs. The club that queue for drinks. Please get you drinks from THE TAVERN. A lot less hassle. Bingo was a joke. Honest we don't mind paying for somethings. A bottle of cheap wine for a full house and one game. The mini disco could be on earlier for the little ones. The stairs down to THE TAVERN require urgent repair, and poor hand rail. Complex security is below standard. The complex has two receptions. We went to the one which was closed, but we were still in the complex. We went to the other reception. Which you can just walk in. The gate at the rear is a large sliding gate. Which anyone can just walk in. Walked straight into the club. And not only do cleaners come in. We had maintence come in. They wear no name badges. THB need to do more to make this 4*, Your staff work very hard, and are very professional. From the people in the shop, maintence, cleaners and other staff. It needs more family entertainment. Please take a visit to a UK resort for ideas. Mini golf. Juke box in THE TAVERN. Better bins in rubbish hot spots, and your drinking cup idea is not working. Smoking areas. You need a middle person to work with holiday makers and staff. More
Some changes, not all for the better.
This is our 3rd visit to this hotel (2 adults, 2 kids, 11 & 12) and there have been a number of changes since our last visit 3 years ago (you can see my previous review somewhere here). The Good: There is now a 'premium' area pool for adults only to enjoy with fancy sun loungers, pool side bar, and seating area. There are new fabric sun loungers in all the pools. The pool areas have been smartened up and the premium apartment we stayed in had new furniture, decorations, and bedding. There are now 2 dining areas which have both been renovated. There is reliable wifi throughout the entire complex. The Bad: The premium pool is adults only (yes I know I listed as good above but since we had 2 kids with us we couldn't use it). The pool side bar, snack bar, and ice cream are no longer self service for all inclusive guests which now means lengthy queues for everyone. There is also only a single queue for food & drinks regardless of which you are getting which also delays things. In the dining area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, its the same issue with a single queue for both buffet items & chef cooked items (eggs, steaks, etc) which means long wait times. They also no longer provide bottled water for guests at meals. As others have said the lack of serving staff in the bars & dome (entertainment area) are a problem. Expect to stand in line for up to 10 minutes at peak times. When we stayed last 'Thomas Cook' were on site providing entertainment for kids & adults but this is now done by the hotel itself. We had no idea where things where taking place for adults (like darts, archery, etc) and the evening entertainment (bingo, kids disco, cabaret, etc) isn't as good as it was before. We also had problems with arranging a late checkout despite having requested it when booking only to be told the day before that it wasn't possible. Overall I'm disappointed and I doubt we'll come back again. Given that this wasn't a budget booking it not longer provides value for money.More
