Great location, sea view is a must!
Just returned from hotel Arenal. Very impressed with this hotel, nice and clean, helpful staff and views to die for. Good central location for easy access to all areas of San Antonio. Most places like this the food let's it down, but this place didn't, loads of choice and decent quality. We will be back for another stay at this little gem.More

Not as good as it used to be
Been coming to this hotel and it's sister hotel for over twenty years but this year was by far the worst, food selection has been reduced, staff seem stressed and less friendly and there is a an undercurrent of unrest here. In the bay area the police have let the lucky lucky men and women get out of hand and there are hundreds of them day and night, this was not very enjoyable holiday and will be looking elsewhere next year.More
First time staying at the Arenal and had read previous reviews before arriving so was a bit apprehensive as it was very mixed. They couldn't have been more wrong. Everything about this hotel was fantastic. We arrived about 10.30pm and check in was quick. We were given two rooms on the first floor. My room was a sea view room which was a lovely surprise as it was unexpected. The room was excellent. Best view of the island you could want. Huge bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, huge balcony and very comfy beds. Rooms were cleaned every single day. The television even has a few British tv channels. The wifi wasn't great - it only worked in the lobby for free or you could pay for it daily or for the week. The hotel provided breakfast and evening meal and it was buffet style. Always had great options every day and after breakfast, you could view the menu for the evening so if there wasn't anything you liked the sound of you could make alternative arrangements. There was plenty of restaurants and places to eat by the hotel so you wouldn't be struggling for choices. The restaurant allocates you a table for your entire stay so you would just go straight to the table every day rather than wait to be seated and they have a dress code (no beachwear). You can't take any drinks into the restaurant but the ones you did purchase inside were reasonable enough. There was even a KFC/Burger King/Pizza Hut next door to the hotel. The hotel provided evening entertainment every second night - the nights it didn't it was always in the Ses Sevines, the sister hotel which was 200 metres away. Definitely recommend checking out 'The Double D's' - they did the Friday night and they were hilarious!! The pool was massive, plenty of sunbeds to choose from although the last few days of our holiday the pool did get busier. You can't bring your own food and drinks in from outside to the pool but there are plenty of snack options to choose from and they're really reasonably priced from the bar. You can also sunbathe out the back of the hotel which is just up from the beach. You can't leave your beach towels on the beds and not return as they will get removed by staff which was good - it didn't happen while we were there as anyone that put towels down always came down. The bar staff, Tony and team were excellent too. This hotel was mainly older couples, families and kids so there wasn't any noise... until the large groups/teenagers started checking in. Honestly don't understand why they feel the need to slam their bedroom doors constantly and blast music from the rooms and run down corridors at 3am screaming and shouting at the top of their voices. Complained to reception one night due to the noise and it was dealt with. Even if you had a sea view room you barely heard anything from the streets. Could not fault anything about this hotel at all and will definitely be staying here again from now on on my next visit. The staff were all amazing! Reception, housekeeping, bar, cleaners, maintenance (think he was maintenance, he was cleaning the pool every morning and washing the paths in the hotel down every day). Thank you for a fantastic stay, loved every single second of it and looking forward to coming back and hopefully getting a sea view room again. More

Lovely clean hotel
Stayed here for 4 nights, hotel is in an amazing spot and the sea view rooms are fantastic. Food at the hotel was lovely and varied Rooms could do with a bit of an update but were very clean I would only suggest bigger bath towels and a fridge in the room. Indoor pool was lovely and warm and our son loved it in there Would stay here again More
It is an old hotel. Perfectly located, big rooms. Has two good sized pools, one heated. Breakfast provided was sumptuous and in a grand setting. Free wifi works only in the lobby. One thing they should improve is the knowledge of the reception staff. They provide wrong information, happened twice.More
