The Sensimar Ibiza Beach Resort is set on the island’s quiet north coast, and looks over a pine-backed sandy beach.
This place has a sleek, contemporary feel. The all-white motif is livened up by neon colour pops, while rooms feature glass-fronted balconies and multi-coloured furnishings.
The property is cocooned by a pine forest, and steps lead down to sandy S’Arenal Petit Beach. A bonus of the hotel’s beachfront position is the sea views you get from the pool terrace and the restaurant.

Stayed 2 weeks at this resort with hubby mid May. Resort is very nice , well laid out in 3 blocks with easy access to the beach. Food was very nice but a little repetitive after the first week. Staff are a bonus to this resort from cleaners to restaurant staff .We had a great holiday would recommend this resort.More
Lovely hotel geared for German tourists, beware room allocation
We travelled through TUI Thomson for a week and were initially impressed by the hotel - the decor is very modern and the hotel very clean, in a lovely location right by the small beach. There are two swimming pools and well kept gardens to sunbathe in. However, TUI is a German owned company and the staff seem to give preferential treatment to the German guests, e.g. better rooms and better service in the restaurant. Unfortunately despite booking 8 months in advance, we were allocated a small poky room adjacent to the kitchens and facing the only road access for lorries and coaches, so it was extremely noisy, being woken most days at 5.30am by delivery lorries or refuse collectors. We asked several times if we could change rooms and were happy to pay to upgrade, but the reception staff just said the hotel was full. Even the Thomson rep was unable to get us a room, until 9pm two days before we were due to leave, by which time we had given up hope for a quiet room with a nice view and resigned ourselves to staying where we were as it was not worth paying for an upgrade so late in the holiday. The service in the restaurant felt chaotic at times due to everyone arriving for the buffet at the same time, the waiting staff speak very little English so it was sometimes difficult to order coffee at breakfast and get plates cleared. The management`s attitude at dinner was snooty and pedantic, as men are required to wear long trousers in the evenings and not allowed to wear tailored shorts, although there were people wearing scruffy jeans and t-shirts for dinner which didn`t seem to bother them, so their policy seemed a tad pretentious. The customer engagement strategy by the management team is very clever - once a week the staff host a canape reception and offer a complimentary glass of bubbly to all guests. They line up to introduce themselves and the guests all clap to music to congratulate the staff on what a marvellous job they are doing, which is a clever way to engage customers so they are less likely to complain about the slow service in the restaurant, poor room etc. The food was on the whole good with a wide choice available at each meal, however, as with most buffet arrangements the portions were small and some of the puddings resembled holiday camp austerity - jelly or rice pudding and packet mousse etc. On the whole though it was a lovely relaxing holiday, but I would encourage British guests to book a sea view room and pay the supplement at booking, otherwise they may find themselves in a grotty room.More
We were going to Ibiza for the first time for our retirement holiday. What a fantastic time we had too. The hotel was perfect, we were looking at a complete rest and we found it. All the staff were excellent, very polite and friendly. Chris the rep was extremely good at putting people in the picture. The room we had was perfect, ground floor pool view. Constant hot water, cleaned daily with towel change and bed change at your disposal. The hotel had a good entertainment schedule. The food was excellent, there was something for everyone. Cannot praise the hotel enough, Portinatx is set in a beautiful location. We never ventured out too much outside the hotel complex, as it had everything we were looking for. Well done Thomson and thank youMore
STUNNING, RELAXING, CAREFREE RESORT
The Hotel Sensimar Ibiza Resort, Portinatx is very clean, modern and gives a sense of overall relaxation. Our room overlooked the 'quiet' pool by the snack bar, the room was clean tidy and had a fab walk-in shower, refreshing after a day walking and swimming. The resort has lots of steps and inclines, so not brilliant if you have any health issues such as legs hips feet or breathlessness, but if you can get around it is definitely worth it, the beaches are clean the water is clean and clear, local restaurants are friendly and welcoming. Entertainment at the hotel every night, from chilled out melodies to more upbeat singers. There are 3 pools, infinity by lounge bar overlooking the beach, quiet pool by snack bar and lawns, also spa pool. The team at the Hotel ensure you have a great stay. If there is a negative, it would be .... food is very 'samey' every day and if you are a 'plain' food eater, there is not much to choose from that doesn't contain herbs spices sauces etc etc and a lack of vegetables. Overall, this hotel and resort is a 'must', and I hope you enjoy your stay there in the future.More
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting
We booked this adult only hotel as a last minute holiday as we were in need of rest and relaxation. On arrival we were greeted by the reception staff and shown to the bar for a much welcome drink whilst we completed our registration. We were then shown to our room which was on the small side but well decorated and clean, however trying to sleep in this room was impossible as there was a noisy generator going all night. Early the following morning we asked to be moved and the manager arranged this a couple of hours later. We spent the following 13days in a beautiful room overlooking the garden pool. We ate at the hotel most days and found the food to be both varied and plentiful. The staff are all helpful and polite. A special mention must go to Mariano and the lovely happy Magda in the bar and also Miriam in the restaurant who had a warm welcome for us each day. All in all a very happy holiday and we would certainly book to stay again. More
