Not a Platinum hotel
I have just returned from a week at this hotel & couldn't wait to come home. Thomsons advertise this as a Platinum hotel, and it most certainly isn't. There was no water in our room the day we arrived, this was fixed at 11.25pm that day. But then only had hot water twice in the rest of the week. I note from other comments the hotel have replied this was just a problem when the hotel first opened, however this was an issue from people staying there in July 2016, so it is NOT just an issue this week!!! The food on the hot buffet was often stone cold, hence there is a microwave to heat your food up. The food cooked on the grill was often not cooked through, including chicken, Many people were ill, made worse by the fact there was no hot water in rooms or communal toilets by the lobby and bars. There is a hand sanitizer by the entrance to the restaurant but is easily missed and there is no sign asking people to use it. We raised all these issues with the hotel manager, the Thomson Reps and the restaurant manager. They did nothing. Our bathroom door did not shut, and despite reporting it to the hotel & the rep, an attempt was made to fix it, but the door still didn't shut, so anyone in the bathroom could be seen from the room. If you want a hot shower and food that is cooked and hot, do not stay at this hotel. Thomson should be ashamed to advertise this hotel as a platinum hotel, and at the measly compensation they offered us of £42.More
Not my original hotel
We landed here may 6th was not our chosen hotel Thomson put us here because our hotel was not open!!!!! We landed 9.25 was greeted with a glass of bubbly and was soon sat on the sunbed by midday.our room was clean had fresh towels everyday.hotel grounds are beautiful and is kept clean.food was good but needs to be hotter!!!!!!we ate upstairs on our last night had a 7 course meal was really nice.staff are friendly and work very hard.i was not keen on the location as there wasn't many shops or nice views if you wanted to eat out.i would say it's a good 3 star hotel there are some issues need sorting i.e. Water freezing on our last day and pool area cracked tiles and as I said food needs to be hotter and maybe better choices from the show cooking only so much pork chops, chicken and beef I can eat! Just gutted I never got to stay in my original hotel but that's not the hotels fault that's Thomsons!!!!!!!!! More

NOT a platinum hotel
My friend and I arrived on 8th May. We had been booked into the 5* Alua Soul hotel in Es Cana, but because of Thomsons incompetence, we were told this "hotel was not ready and it was Club Bahamas or nothing" Thanks to my tenacity, we knew this beforehand, and had already decided not to let our disappointment, (or the appalling way Thomson had treated us and thousands of others), cloud our judgement, as it was not the hotels fault that Thomson had forced us into this position, and that we were going to make the best of what holiday we had thrust upon us. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff, and a waiter offering us cava and/or orange juice, which was a nice touch. I must say the friendliness of the staff does a lot to help this hotel, and is a plus. We were issued our room, which as rooms go was adequate. We would have been happy here apart from the fact that when we tried to have a shower on the first night, the shower head only allowed water to come out of one hole, and so it was impossible to shower. Furthermore we could not bath as there was no plug. (I have since been told that they keep the plugs behind reception as children play with them and they are stolen or lost, but we were not to know this) We called reception and Maintenance arrived at about 9.30pm. He did something to the shower and told us it was working fine now. However, the next day when we went to shower we discovered that we had no cold water whatsoever, which resulted in me suffering a nasty scald to my scalp, and me having to wear a baseball cap all week when out in the sun!! Again we phoned the reception and the same maintenance man arrived, again at about 9.30pm. After an hour and a half of messing about, popping out, coming back, toing and froing etc etc, we receive a phone call from reception telling us that it cannot be repaired, and we are going to have to change room!! All this at stupid o clock at night, we could really have done without it. We duly repacked our suitcases and trudged to our new room, which was much smaller, with a smaller balcony and not such a nice view. However, on the plus side, the shower did work in this room. I reported it to Thomson as I had found out had I not done so, I would not have had any right of compensation when back in the UK as Thomson would have refused to deal with my issues after the event. They do not make this clear to people so be aware of this. Initially, as I had informed the rep Sam that I was recording this (not as picture but as voice) as proof (due to the various lies that Thomson had told me throughout this whole debacle) she refused to deal with me, and was quite rude to be honest. However, after she had forced me to delete my recording she did eventually deal with me, although I found her to be very cold and quite detached, and everything you said she just said "Mmm" after, which I found to be quite patronising (but perhaps you could put that down to me being very annoyed at how she had spoken to me previously) I mention this because I feel it is important for people visiting this hotel to know that the rep service may not be as helpful as you need, (although Wesley the other rep seemed very good.) Later in the week it became apparent that our air conditioning did not work. Again we reported it to reception and they said they would sort it, which they did eventually, but it was yet another small inconvenience. (I was beginning to feel that I had seen more of the maintenance man on this holiday than I had of my Friend! ) One more small gripe about the room - as the showers (and pool) are salt water only, the hotel is supposed to supply you with a large bottle of water everyday. This did not happen on two occasions, and when I rang reception they were unusually short with me saying "they had run out of water but guaranteed we would get some later that day" That never happened, and we did not receive any water until 9pm the next night, which is not acceptable. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Breakfast in the restaurant is amazing - can't fault it. The snack bar during the day was ok also, and you could make yourself a nice toastie if you wanted. Dinner/Evening Meal I found to be not very hot, bordering on tepid. I personally found there not to be much choice, (but I don't like fish) but my Friend was happy with the choice, but not the temperature of the food. The pool looked lovely, although the whirlpool/Jacuzzi was not working. As it is salt water I did not find this particularly pleasant but it may not bother others. It was however blumming freezing!! I still braved it once though :-) At the end of the hotel is two gates which lead to a lovely beach. The sunbeds there are 10 euros per bed, and £10 euros for a parasol, but it is a lovely spot and very convenient for the hotel. Shops/Bars are about 10 - 15 mins walk away, not a massive array but worth a visit. Hotel very close to airport so about a 15-20 min transfer which was a plus, but you do get planes flying overhead every 10 mins, and despite what others on hear say, we could hear them very loudly throughout the evening/night in both of the rooms we had been allocated. I would not say it was particularly bothersome though, and in fact was quite nice to watch at times, but if you want a bit of piece by the pool for a nap then this is not the hotel for you. The reception area was nice and clean. The toilets however were filthy, on the fist day there was blood all over the floor in one of them and later in the week faeces, and you could smell drains in the lounge bar area. This area was a bit dated, very dark and not comfortable seating, so we did not spend any time here. All in all, I would say that I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, helped by the pleasant friendly staff, but there is a lot of problems that they are obviously aware of but just cope with on a "as and when needed" basis, if people complain. I think Thomson should review it's 4 TTTT rating, as this hotel is not quite there yet. One last thing, this hotel does let large all female or all male stag and hen parties in, and they are extremely rowdy, which does spoil your experience. If they want to cater for parties like this, due to the nearness of the clubs, then it should be made clear that it is this type of hotel, and not suitable for couples out for a relaxing holiday.More
Great hotel if your getting a bargain!
We've just returned from a really good holiday in this hotel! On arrival we were greeted with drinks and a quick check in! Had to pay around 14 euros tourist tax and 20 euros for the safe (which I think was expensive compared to other resorts I've been to and you didn't get any of the money back!) the pool was freezing but there were always plenty of sun beds! There was a problem with the water supply and for a few hours all the soft drinks were salty but this was sorted quickly! Showers could vary if you could get hot water, oh and ladies take some good deep conditioner as the water really dries your hair! There were planes flying over all day long and we really enjoyed watching them, couldn't really hear them once we were in the room with the door shut so it was never a problem. The food was fabulous and plentiful! Between the main restaurant and the snack bar you could pretty much get food all day from 07:30 to 22:00. One thing I will say is if you are a fussy eater don't book the other restaurant. We really enjoyed the 7 course set menu, but we're really disappointed by how rude some of the other Brits were to the waitresses because they would rather have chips downstairs ... All of the excursions were really pricey and the Thomson rep was overly pushy trying to get us to go on a cruise even after I told her that I get extremely sea sick. That's not the hotels fault though! Two things we really enjoyed were getting the bus into Eivessa for 1.90 each and also we got up to sit on the beach and watch the sunrise one day which I'd really recommend! Oh, don't have the cocktails! The staff, although lovely, don't know how to make them so you end up with lumps of sugar in your cocktail, stick to the spirits and mixers and you'll be fine! We paid £751 for two of us for a week all inclusive with first choice and I wouldn't think it's worth more than that! Good for a budget holiday, but not worth the prices I see they are charger now,we were looking at going back but the same time next year is double the price!More
Good value for money
We stayed here for a week in summer holidays pools were a little cold for me, could always find a sun bed but if it was late morning the would be at the back but that's fine, the hotel is not 4star but lovely clean rooms, food was lovely, entertainment good, brilliant location mode beach, shops, clubs and you could walk to the water park. Lovely beach, very close to the airport but the planes did not bother us at all, the main thing that lets this hotel down is the showers!!!! They are salt water!!!! ladies bring extra conditioner my hair was soooo dry!!! You don't feel clean Evan when you have showered!!! We go use to it but not nice!!! Lovely fountain at the front of building but there was no water in it!!!!!! More
