Club Bahamas

This place gets full marks for location – with a sandy beach and the best of Playa d’en Bossa’s bars and clubs on tap.

This hotel had a makeover in 2014 – and it comes with a great postcode, too. You’re right on a sandy beach, and 10 minutes’ walk gets you to the centre of town with plenty of shops, bars, clubs and restaurants. Plus, you're right next door to some of Ibiza's best music venues.

This place has a big pool with a bar on the side. Food is taken care of at the buffet restaurant and snack bar, while relaxation comes courtesy of the spa.

Lovely hotel but more ideal for families

I stayed at this hotel last May with a close friend. We were given a glass of bubbly on arrival and all the staff were very friendly and pleasant! The hotel is lovely, it has a very big pool area loads of sunbeds and good variety of drinks and food. My friend and I were on a clubbing holiday so our room was located right down the end nearest to the beach which was ideal as there was mostly families staying there and we would probably be quite noisy. We blasted music all night while we were getting ready, and when we came back from a club and we were never told off which was great! We stayed in a hotel in san antonio in September and we were constantly told to keep the noise down! The room was lovely, it had such a nice fresh feel to it and nice sinks and comfy beds, we loved it! Sometimes we were stared at when we went to the bar for a drink before going out, I suppose its more of a family hotel as were the only clubbers there! But then again it was early season. Only other thing is sometimes the staff seemed annoyed when we ordered lots of drinks, but it was all inclusive so we should be allowed to drink all we want lol! It did seem strange that it was mostly families there because the hotel is right next to Ushuaia and Space, but we had a ball. There was one lady who worked behind the bar in reception who was lovely, always pouring us more shots haha! The evening meal was ok, it was always nice but sometimes not much selection. The breakfast and lunch there was always loads to choose from. The hotel is great location by my two favourite clubs, and you only had to walk to the back of the hotel and through a gate to get to beach house which was fab! A friend we made on holiday was also allowed to come to our room which was good and there was always cool music on and we could hear all the music from hard rock and beach house which added a real Ibiza feel to our holiday. Only thing I'd say, it would be good if they had a second pool, a more chilled out area for adults as me and my friend were often getting splashed by all the kids lol! And maybe another bar. Overall me and my friend had a brilliant time although the weather wasn't great and we were the only clubbers there, we would definitely say here again!More

Alex E,

I have waited over 6 months to write this review for 2 reasons, 1) to settle a claim again Thompson for this hotel, 2) to give me adequate time to reflect. These are our experiences, thoughts and opinions of the hotel, Negatives: • If you are in a ground floor room then a large percentage flood, so if it rains heavy then there is a good chance YOU WILL GET FLOODED, whilst I appreciated the hotel can do very little about the weather there response to heavy rain is non-existent they just allow the rooms to flood, then clean the following day and expect guest to return to damp, moulded smelly rooms. • The pool and surrounding area isnt massive as describe, if fact it is quite the opposite, for large parts of the day the pool is very busy and we felt like we were cramped in like sardines both in and out of the pool, basically the pool isnt big enough for the hotel. • The lifeguard doesn’t pay the attention he should, more interested in his phone or book, completely unacceptable • The waste bins around the pool overflowing by mid-afternoon, they need emptying twice a day instead of just at the end of the day. • The pool toilets were like an ice rink and smelt awful, these need to be cleaned more regularly. • Some days there was an awful rotten fish type smell around the pool and complex. • The food was generally ok, could be describe as a bit repetitive. We did have a couple of issues 1) a caterpillar that we found in my daughters salad on one occasion, I took to the manager but he didn’t want to eat it either 2) some of the food could be a little on the cold/undercooked side. • The restaurant was absolutely madness at times, there were 5 of us and we struggled on a number of occasion to find a table which meant a 5-10 minute wait. • The ‘Al A Carte’ restaurant is not an al a carte in the true sense, we only last 5 minutes as I had to argue with the restaurant manager to get put on a table for 5 people as there insisted on trying to cramp us on a table for 4 even though the restaurant was 25% full, it was like a wind from Ant and Dec! • Water from the air conditioning system in the restaurant dripping onto tables and into food, again we witnessed this on a number of occasions. • The gym had no air conditioning (or is was broken), the equipment was old and antiquated, the floor got slippy and the sauna/spa. • The manager isnt customer focused and rather rude, whilst complaining in a constructive about water ingress to my room (we were on the second floor and part of the ceiling had fallen down) he told me to “go and find another hotel if you’re not happy”…………………..if only we could. • Because of the water ingress this resulted in 4 adult and 1 child sleeping in 1 room designed for 3 people for 3 nights because the hotel of the reps would/could not relocate us. • Health and safety of hotel maintenance staff was at times very very poor i.e. an exposed Stanley knife blade being left by sunbeds on a main walkway for 3 minutes, luckily I spotted straight away and stood over it to stop any guest walking into it. • Thomson/First choice reps were inexperience and unable to deal with the flooding and other complaints effectively. • Slow to respond to issues i.e. 7 days to fix the phone in one of our room, air conditioning not working effectively for the duration of our stay. • Bedding only changed once during our 14 days stay, we put little black dots on the corner of the sheets/pillow cases when we arrive as we do on all our holidays. • Evening entertainment was very hit and miss. Positives • The hotel is located on a Fantastic beach. • Good location for the Playa den Bossa town. • Self service soft drinks at the pool bar. • Bar staff and reception staff (excluding the manager) very helpful and proactive. • The food in the pool snack bar was of a good standard. To sum it up if you were a group of lads or lasses or a couple looking a base for clubbing then this is the hotel for you but as a family hotel I don’t believe it is, I am not sure who Thomson/First Choice are aiming this hotel at. Overall we firmly believe this hotel is over rated as a platinum and overpriced, we believe that it should be downgraded to a 3 star and the price reduced to reflect this, there is no way in opinion that this hotel is currently anywhere near platinum standard, they are building up guests expectations then not fulfilling it. It you buy a Sony TV then that’s what you expect, not a Bush TV We got a refund of £1000.00 from Thomson (about 20%) of the cost of the holiday and it is certainly not a hotel we would visit again or recommend to a family.More

Waste of money

Weather was nice, close to beach site and city center and that's all positive sites. Miserable staf, mould in the room, repetitive food, poor or none intertaiment. Horrid drinks. It felt like waste of our money .ou also found dirty toilet seat and candom packaging in the upstairs was shut.More

Ibiza 2015

For the price of this hotel you can't go wrong the hotel is clean the food good a decent variety the entertainment some nights wasn't very good but it's Ibiza the party island so you only have to walk down the road there's plenty of bars etc I would highly recommend going to the top floor of the hard rock hotel one night the views were stunning. The staff was friendly the ala carte wasn't much different to the other restaurant it's a peasent stay and right on the beach so a nice evening stroll on the sands great holiday would come back againMore

Callum B,

Fantastic hotel

Visited this hotel for a week in May 2015. It was our first family holiday abroad. Very impressed with the hotel, staff, food that we are returning again this May for 2 weeks! Warm welcome on arrival. Arrived after midnight and was provided with something to eat if we wanted. Room was lovely and clean, cleaned daily. Had a fridge in the room with kettle, tea bags etc. Pool was lovely and big and never too busy for a swim. Baby pool was small and crowded at times but wasn't a concern for us. Kids loved the evening entertainment, some nights were abit poor but not a problem as plenty to see outside hotel. The staff that provided the entertainment were lovely, not to pushy and always happy and cheery! Food was great, large variety each day, had a kids section too. The cakes were amazing!! Hotel is on the beach. Beach is lovely and clean and found it was the better end of the beach for a swim. Water lovely and clean as further up had loads of sea weed. We are looking forward to our return and hoping for another great experience. More
