Just returned from a week at the apartments after our first visit to gran canaria. Firstly, fantastic location with the beach and marina just a few steps away over the road, rare in the area! The apartments are great, comfortable and clean. We had cleaners visit 4 times in 7 days. We were in room 151, right at the beach end by the road...a little noisy with all the vans and coaches passing, but it wasn't a problem for us having booked just 6 days prior. However, if you can, ask for an apartment over looking the pool.
The place is undergoing maintenance currently, painting and some building work, but it's no major disruption and the workers are polite and considerate and will be done before July aparently.
If you like sea fishing, I recommend the cavalier, great guys and we were lucky to catch 2 huge marlin on our trip, pretty awsome. Our friends went on the African and also had an amazing day.
Some great bars and restaurants in the area...the shopping centre though was not our cup of tea, English and irish bars and very busy so we only went once...be warned, the perfume shops there don't do the best price compared to others!
Best day had was a ferry to mogan. ..beatiful place and a must..busy on market day, worth a visit.
Finally, tanishq bar under the apartments. ..perfect little bar and run by Nijel, a welcoming, funny all round lovely guy...he will look after you and put a smile on your face!
Overall, a great last minute break to get away from it all, would go back for sure, it is good value for money for great weather, location and clean basic accommodation. ..enjoy!More
What a lovely place,my first time here, lovely clean hotel, rooms spotless, friendly staff, all round good holiday, would return, only bad point was the cleaning of the drains one day through the day and it was infested with cockroaches at the entrance.. apart from that no complaints..More

Just got back from a wonderful 2 week stay at The Portonovo Apartments. The best holiday I've ever had ðâï¸ð. We have visited Puerto Rico for many years and have stayed at many different apartments over the years, but the Portonovo was by far our favourite ð. The apartments have all you need for a self catering holiday, fantastic views of the harbour or beach and very close to the beach, shops and definitely not forgetting the wonderful Taj Palace restaurant downstairs ð we celebrated our wedding anniversary here and the food is that fantastic we ate there every other night. We have only been home 3 days and we have been looking to book again for later this year and will definitely try to get a room at the Portonovo Apartments.More
These apartments although basic are ideal if you don't want to be walking up and down steps like most accommodation in Puerto Rico. Facing the harbour, you will get a fantastic nights sleep in this quieter part of the resort. The restaurants near by are outstanding, my tip is Nube Fusion, wow!!! There's a great Irish bar 1 minute walk away called McCools which is friendly and has a brill singer on.
Will definitely be returning.More
Clean, good location.
Good location, near marina, beach, bars and restaurants. Apt. clean and basic. Nice small pool, plenty of sun beds. Bar and restaurant right next door to apts. and supermarket. Suitable for older people as there are lifts to all floors and only 3-4 steps to gain access to main reception.More
