This place is the epitome of contemporary chic. Think clean lines, big windows and fresh white walls, all bordered by rows of exotic palms. And its location is just as impressive. Pulled up against Puerto Rico’s stylish marina and just footsteps from the beach, it’s surrounded by great scenery and restaurants. Plus, when you want to explore Puerto Rico itself, the town centre is just a ten-minute walk away.
If you’re staying put, meanwhile, there’s a fantastic pool scene at the hotel. It’s a huge sea-facing rectangular number framed by a wide sun terrace. Pull up a lounger and relax here or grab a table at the poolside bar and order a spot of lunch – every dish comes with a side-order of sea views.
Head inside, meanwhile, and the laidback theme continues. All the suites come with a view of the sea or marina, plus a roomy balcony or terrace from which to enjoy it. You’ll get a mini kitchen, too, complete with all the essentials – including the all-important microwave and coffeemaker. Factor in a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa-bed and there’s plenty of space to spread out. In-room extras like air-conditioning and satellite TV complete the picture.
On the food front, there's the buffet eatery offering a mix of international favourites, regional specialities and a great selection of just-landed seafood. For an extra special dining experience, check out the regular theme nights. We’re talking flavoursome evenings courtesy of Mexico, China and Spain..

Overall good experience
Spent a week in April 2014 at Marina Suites, Puerto Rico. Overall we had a good time at the hotel. The rooms were big. Large bed room, bathroom and living room. The rooms also has a small kitchen with the most necessary equipment. Every room faces the ocean. The hotel is located close to restaurants, beaches and shopping (everything can be reached within 10 minutes of walking). We have the breakfast which was very good - with a large variety of different foods. We ate lunch at the hotel one time - nothing special (burgers, pizzas, sandwiches) - but in my opinion junk food. Every room has a router for Wi-Fi which gives you a fast connection in the room (compared to other holiday resorts). There is also wi-fi at the pool - but this is quite unstable due to many people trying to connect. The only negative side is people reserving sunbeds at the pool. The pool area opens at 8 AM - and around 7.45 AM there will be a queue of people waiting to run to reserve sunbeds (and leave the pool area and return around 10-11 AM). Overall we had a excellent week. The hotel is modern with nice facilities. The staff are friendly and will happily assist you booking taxis, reserving tables at restaurant etc. Tip: Eat at the Italian restaurant "Cosi Come Sei" (located 5 minutes walk from the hotel). They do not offer a lot of different items on the menu, but the food and wine is excellent. Make sure to reserve a table as the restaurant often is fully booked if you just show upMore

Hard beds, unstable temperatur in shower
This were our second stay at Marina Suites. The rooms are big and the location is perfect. What made our stay poor was the hard beds. These beds are not worth a 4 star hotel. We were 22 persons in our family that stayed here, some in upgraded suites, and we were all very disappointed due to the hard beds. My back and shoulders hurted every morning and the sleep was bad. We asked the personal if it was possible to get an extra matress , but they couldn't help. Also it was impossible to take a comfortable shower, because the water suddenly shifted from cold to very hot. Its a shame that a 4 Star hotel cannot get better beds, and we'll not come back until the beds are better.. More
OK 4 star, if you want to sit on someone else's lap by the pool
Booked this as looking for a reasonably priced week away in Easter. Positives Excellent accomodation. We upgraded to a deluxe suite which is huge (at least the size of 3 doubles). Great views from lounge, bedroom and bathroom Kitchenette is not designed for full meals, but absolutely fine for breakfast and lunchtime light meals Best position in a drab resort. Right on Marina away from noise, tacky commercial centres Everything is cleaned very well Nice affinity pool, warm, with lovely views. Negatives Main problem is sun loungers. It isnt about the fact that you have to go down about 8 / 9 am unless you want to sit in a bad spot, it isnt that all the sun loungers end up being used, thats also to be expected over Easter. The problem is that every square inch is used up. Dont think about being able to move your lounger, or let your toddlers play next to the lounger, there simply isnt room!! So if you like sitting on top of your neighbour this is the place for you. The pool area needs to be doubled to allow for space and relaxation. For a top end 4 star this simply isnt good enough. If there is a regulation with regard to square footage space per sun lounger, and if the hotel is abiding by these regulations, then the regulations need revisiting! The entertainment is feable. The food is mediocre. The resort is basically full of nasty restaurants with picture menus and neon signs, with a couple of exceptions. If the hotel increased the size of the pool area (maybe they could build decking out over the sea) and improved the animation / kids club (its for up to 12 years - but there is no way my 9 year old wants to do colouring every day) then it could be a great place. It isnt as cheap as chips, hence my comments. If it were £100 / night then I would judge differently.More
