Marina Suites

Just a stone's throw from the beach and moments from the marina, this good-looking hotel is in a first-class spot. Sea views come courtesy of the huge pool area and modern apartments. Meanwhile, the buffet restaurant lays on international theme nights.

This place is the epitome of contemporary chic. Think clean lines, big windows and fresh white walls, all bordered by rows of exotic palms. And its location is just as impressive. Pulled up against Puerto Rico’s stylish marina and just footsteps from the beach, it’s surrounded by great scenery and restaurants. Plus, when you want to explore Puerto Rico itself, the town centre is just a ten-minute walk away.

If you’re staying put, meanwhile, there’s a fantastic pool scene at the hotel. It’s a huge sea-facing rectangular number framed by a wide sun terrace. Pull up a lounger and relax here or grab a table at the poolside bar and order a spot of lunch – every dish comes with a side-order of sea views.

Head inside, meanwhile, and the laidback theme continues. All the suites come with a view of the sea or marina, plus a roomy balcony or terrace from which to enjoy it. You’ll get a mini kitchen, too, complete with all the essentials – including the all-important microwave and coffeemaker. Factor in a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa-bed and there’s plenty of space to spread out. In-room extras like air-conditioning and satellite TV complete the picture.

On the food front, there's the buffet eatery offering a mix of international favourites, regional specialities. For an extra special dining experience, check out the regular theme nights. We’re talking flavoursome evenings courtesy of Mexico, China and Spain..

Marina Suites - Excellent choice for holiday

Family holiday wk 08/ 2015 at Marina Suites was very good choice. Hotel situates at the end of the street, beside the marina. Atlantic ocean on the other side and stone wall behind the hotel. Hotel is clean very well kept and everything was working just perfect. At the hotel there are 9 floors, rooms for two directions. We had room 416 to m arina side, the view was perfect , you may see Puerto Rico bay and afternoon the sun is shining direct to your balcony. Rooms are just like on the pictures. No negative points in our room. We had breakfast and buffee what I can recommend, different selection on every evening, soup, starters, main courses, desserts , excellent quality, reasonable price pls. Ask breakfast and buffee pacage when you make the booking. At the pool area there is lunch possibility and also good selection for every day. Pool is just over the sea beautifull and big enought. Hotel staff takes care of you during your holiday, many thanks for all of you. There could be much more to say but summa summarum I can recommend this hotel for couples, families and friends. We will go sure again Marina Suites for next Canarian holiday.More

Exactly as shown on the pictures!

This must be the best hotel in Puerto Rico! Huge apartment. Nice kitchen facility in a "closet". Bathtub and shower. Big, thick towels. Big bed and closet. Amazing and BIG infinity pool. 10 minutes walk to a great grocery store (Spar) and 5 minutes to the ferry (Arguineguin og Mogan). Friendly and helpful staff. Great view of the harbour. All I need! The food in the breakfast restaurant did not look som good, so we skipped eating at the hotel.More

Good but just short of great

We had a fantastic apartment having paid extra for the suite on the 6th floor. Loads of room for the 4 of us, good lighting throughout. We included breakfast and it was well worthwhile with a nice buffet next to the pool. The pool area looked straight out to sea and is a fantastic location. Very clean throughout. We found all staff extremely friendly and helpful. So why not great, the pool area is just too small with no room around the sun beds. It is located right next to a working marina and machines can make quite a lot of noise throughout the day. Parking costs €11 per day in the marina car park to the front of the hotel. There is little sound proofing in the walls so you can hear the water run through the pipes as if they were in your room More

Brian O,

Best place in town

The hotel is a very good 4-star hotel. Great rooms, great views and a fantastic pool area with a great view. The breakfast (that we had included) and the lunch in the pool bar (á la carte) are very good. The lunch - better than you expect. We tried the hotel restaurant once in the evening, and it's obviously not the same people that do the lunch. It's more your typical tasteless buffet dinner. So hop over that! Friendly people, good service (not excellent, but good) and a great hotel. A lot better than we expected!More

3 *** at most - will not be returning

The Marina Suites has several things going for it - the ocean front location, splendid views onto the ocean from the infinity pool deck, and excellent balcony views either onto the marina or the ocean. Aside from these bonus points, however, our experience overall was rather disappointing. Several points worth noting: (1) the hotel is quite poorly sound-proofed - jarring footsteps, moving chairs, etc. reverberating throughout the building at all times of day and into the night are annoyingly irritating; (2) rooms are OK, generally clean but certainly not of a 4* standard in terms of their appointment; bedrooms are very poorly lit; quality of the beds/bedding is substandard; (3) friendliness and helpfulness of the staff ranges from 'great' (e.g. housekeeping) to 'indifferent' (to the point of rude) - e.g. reception and some restaurant staff; (4) housekeeping services are not offered on two days of the week (Thursdays and Sundays); we were not aware of this when booking - turns out it's in the fine print, we happened to miss it; it was not apparent at time of booking; (5) be prepared to pay extra for the in-room safe box (25 Euros per week; amazing; can't remember the last time I had to do this!); (6) lots of deposits - for deck-chair towels, safe box (in addition to extra charge), parking card...(7) parking can be a problem (see further elaboration below); (8) the infinity pool is great - except that number of deck-chairs around it are rather limited and these are quickly claimed by guests first thing in the morning - some of whom then don't bother showing up until noon or later to use their claimed deck chair. This doesn't appear to concern the hotel management. (9) WiFi access is free, but spotty; don't even bother trying the reception area WiFi; access in room works most of the time. All in all, this adds up to at most a three star experience - suffice it to say that we won't be returning.More
