Marina Suites

Loading

Just a stone's throw from the beach and moments from the marina, this good-looking hotel is in a first-class spot. Sea views come courtesy of the huge pool area and modern apartments. Meanwhile, the buffet restaurant lays on international theme nights.

This place is the epitome of contemporary chic. Think clean lines, big windows and fresh white walls, all bordered by rows of exotic palms. And its location is just as impressive. Pulled up against Puerto Rico’s stylish marina and just footsteps from the beach, it’s surrounded by great scenery and restaurants. Plus, when you want to explore Puerto Rico itself, the town centre is just a ten-minute walk away.

If you’re staying put, meanwhile, there’s a fantastic pool scene at the hotel. It’s a huge sea-facing rectangular number framed by a wide sun terrace. Pull up a lounger and relax here or grab a table at the poolside bar and order a spot of lunch – every dish comes with a side-order of sea views.

Head inside, meanwhile, and the laidback theme continues. All the suites come with a view of the sea or marina, plus a roomy balcony or terrace from which to enjoy it. You’ll get a mini kitchen, too, complete with all the essentials – including the all-important microwave and coffeemaker. Factor in a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa-bed and there’s plenty of space to spread out. In-room extras like air-conditioning and satellite TV complete the picture.

On the food front, there's the buffet eatery offering a mix of international favourites, regional specialities. For an extra special dining experience, check out the regular theme nights. We’re talking flavoursome evenings courtesy of Mexico, China and Spain..

Hope you don't want a seat around the pool !

Currently staying here at the Marina Suites and I am really looking forward to going home. Don't get me wrong there is nothing majorly wrong with the hotel, just a few things have let it down. The hotel is clean but not to the standard of my last holiday at inturotel sa marina in Majorca, now that was spotless. The main thing that has really annoyed me is that from 7.30 am onwards (doors to the pool don't open til 8am), people are queuing to get out to place their towels around the pool on the best beds. They then leave them there and go off and come back later. So if you go down say around nine you have got no chance, all the best beds have towels on them, no people, just towels. This is unacceptable and should not be allowed to happen, On a more positive note the rooms are big and have a great view out to pool area and sea. Also the infinity pool is fantastic, could sit there for hours watching the passing boats, that's if you get a bed that is. Also we have enjoyed the evening shows, but that is all there is less than an hours entertainment per night, then everybody leaves as there is nothing else to do. I have not seen a entertainment team as such at night, just one girl doing some party dances with the little kids for an hour. There was nothing for my seven and ten year olds to do, no games or disco, nothing. The hotel to me has no soul. It likes an empty glass, no atmosphere, staff just seem to be going through the motions. There is no happy holiday feeling here. In fact you don't see hardly any staff walking around, the hotel just seems to run itself, it has no personal touch. On the surrounding area well that's something else, I find Puerto Rico cheap and tacky and like a concrete jungle. In fact the whole of Gran Canaria to me is just mainly Rocky Mountains with hotels built into them. You don't feel like you are in a Spanish island, you get no feel for the country or culture. Also the locals are not the friendlest either. Watch out for the local supermarket, the lady tried to overcharge me in there. We had a nice walk up the coastal path to Amadores beach, which is lovely. The beach in Puerto Rico looks filthy in comparison. We didn't even go on it. There is also a lovely beach at Anfi which is just 6 euros in a taxi. But the taxi drivers we encountered were rude and arrogant. Also you constantly get bothered by workers offering free gifts if you go visit one of the hotels, one of such is Anfi, which I believe is timeshare, but they don't tell you that. All in all hotel is ok, but not impressed with surrounding area, so for that reason will not return.More

My Marina Suites Holiday Aug 2014

this is the 2nd year we have been to this hotel and on the whole it's a lovely, clean and well run hotel. we wouldn't have come back if we didn't like it but this year I feel that there are a few things that have spoilt our main summer break. 1) you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to use the safe in your room. 2) the main bedroom needs ALOT more lighting and storage, as a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children, 15 & 11) there wasn't enough space to keep our clothes and stuff. 3) there is only 2 chairs on the balcony!! 4) the hotel provides free wifi everywhere in the hotel which don't get me wrong, is absolutely brilliant, but only if it works? sitting by the pool you cannot get a decent connection to any of the devices we brought with us. 5) The breakfasts offer a fantastic range of food every day but if you get there after 10am you have keep asking the waitresses for bits of stuff that could quite easily have been put out in greater quantities, or put more staff on in the busier periods!? 6) on arrival and for the 2nd year in a row, our air con was broken & still isn't very good. like I said these aren't major issues but I think some of them need addressing. apart from that a very lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff are great also, especially the cleaners who leave my daughters teddies dressed and waiting for her to return to the room!!More

Average at best!

If your looking for a peaceful relaxing quiet holiday then this isn't the place for you. If your someone who likes to Drop your bags and lie around all day whilst your kids run riot for two weeks then this the place for you. I'm someone who likes to relax on holiday si it wasn't for me! The sunbed area I can only say resembles a rugby scrum it's chaotic the problem is to many beds squeezed into too small a space if you don't mind having someone's smelly feet in your face when you lie your sunbed back then give it a go or kids and rather large chaps who can't squeeze between the beds so they constantly knock your arms head or what other body part you have in the way, then there's the pool looks fabulous on the photo but in reality you have to first of all dodge about 25 balls that are being fired at you from every angle just to fight for a square foot of pool that no one else is occupying it was bedlam every day!! If your 9 or 10 great (or a chav) otherwise I suggest going to the beach to get away from it! We come to puerto Rico twice a year every year and have stayed in a lot of hotel 4 and 5 star this in my opinion isn't the sink was hanging off the wall and they told us that's how it should be because it's a disabled room(were no disabled) how ever when someone leans on the sink the will become disabled for sure! The room we had had a view of the boat yard where they repaire the boats so not the spectacular views others mention. The staff were very friendly and the lifeguard works tirelessly to try and accommodate the need for sunbeds etc. This place just wasn't for us it's ok to average but certainly not the relaxing place others talk of. We'll be going back to Gloria Palace next timeMore

brilliant, relaxing, entertaining holiday

Our first visit to the marina suites, and definitely not the last, we didn't want to come home (a week wasn't long enough). We travelled with our two young boys (aged 6 and 5). The suite was a lot bigger than expected with a view over the harbour/ town. The rooms were spotless and well stocked with towels and a few toiletries, we had a large bottle of water waiting for us too, which was much appreciated after the journey. We were situated opposite the kids club, which the boys went to every day. They did a lot of arts and crafts, as well as playing both indoors and outdoors, in a safe and secure environment. The boys especially loved Alesandra, one of the entertainment team. The pool was really nice, giving lovely views over the ocean. There were activities held in the pool and on the terrace throughout the day if you wanted to join in, which you weren't coerced into if you just wanted to chill. A suncare adviser visited to offer advice on lotions and creams specifically designed for the climate. We went half board, eating in the restaurant. Each day the buffet was based around a different menu, and they catered for a children's menu too. There was plenty of choice, the food delicious. The breakfast was also delicious, with plenty of choice. The staff were polite and helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The hotel was situated at the end of the harbour, away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the town, just what we wanted. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach, and 20 minutes to the shopping centre.More

Lovely hotel

Just returned from a 2 week break at the marina suites and couldn't be happier. We had a speedy and friendly check in there were 3 lifts to take us to our room we requested a high floor with a sea view which we got. Our room was a good size spacious and clean. Free wi fi available in room and poolside. The rush was on for the sun beds but the life guard was always on hand to help those who never got one. We were there b&b the breakfast had everything you would want. Overall great holiday great hotel would highly recommend. More
