Marina Suites

Just a stone's throw from the beach and moments from the marina, this good-looking hotel is in a first-class spot. Sea views come courtesy of the huge pool area and modern apartments. Meanwhile, the buffet restaurant lays on international theme nights.

This place is the epitome of contemporary chic. Think clean lines, big windows and fresh white walls, all bordered by rows of exotic palms. And its location is just as impressive. Pulled up against Puerto Rico’s stylish marina and just footsteps from the beach, it’s surrounded by great scenery and restaurants. Plus, when you want to explore Puerto Rico itself, the town centre is just a ten-minute walk away.

If you’re staying put, meanwhile, there’s a fantastic pool scene at the hotel. It’s a huge sea-facing rectangular number framed by a wide sun terrace. Pull up a lounger and relax here or grab a table at the poolside bar and order a spot of lunch – every dish comes with a side-order of sea views.

Head inside, meanwhile, and the laidback theme continues. All the suites come with a view of the sea or marina, plus a roomy balcony or terrace from which to enjoy it. You’ll get a mini kitchen, too, complete with all the essentials – including the all-important microwave and coffeemaker. Factor in a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa-bed and there’s plenty of space to spread out. In-room extras like air-conditioning and satellite TV complete the picture.

On the food front, there's the buffet eatery offering a mix of international favourites, regional specialities. For an extra special dining experience, check out the regular theme nights. We’re talking flavoursome evenings courtesy of Mexico, China and Spain..

Great family hotel

I was there for 13 days with my wife and our 3 year old son. This was our second visit to Marina Suites, and we were happy to find that some of the things we were less happy with the first time had been taken care of now. Specifically, we felt that cleaning was a bit superficial the last time we were here. Not so this time, cleaning was excellent. We also felt that the beds were way too hard the last time. This time we also got hard beds at first, but when we asked we were told that they were in the process of changing to softer mattresses in all the rooms, and just a few hours later we got brand new mattresses that were very comfortable. On the plus side: -Large suites with fully equipped kitchenette -Bath tub in the bathrooms -Great breakfast buffet -Great pool area, which also includes two jacuzzi's. Great for the kids. -The elevators seemed to be a bit quicker than before? Or maybe it's just me who have grown more patient? B-) -Easy to find parking outside (however quite expensive) -Very good location, walking distance to everything On the minus side: -No heating in the rooms, it can be a bit chilly after sunset -No sun on the balconies until around 3 in the afternoon - unless you book a room on the south side, facing the pool. -Very variable temperature in the shower (this is a problem in most big hotels) -Smoking is permitted in the pool area, there were even people smoking around the children's pool. All in all I recommend this hotel very much for families, even though it has its shortcomings :-)More

Fantastic Holiday.

We have just had the most wonderful holiday in Marina Suites. Having been to Puerto Rico many times over the years and stayed in many apartments these are by far the best we have stayed in. The location is amazing. The views from our room 620 were amazing. No steps which most of the apartments around resort have so great for anyone with prams, buggies or walking difficulties. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were self catering as we really enjoy the lovely restaurants around the resort. The pool area was never too busy and we always got a sunbed whatever time we went. The infinity pool is great. They have an entertainments team which were good fun. The weather was very good for December. A few cloudy spells but nice and warm and sunny most of the time. Thank you very much to Marina Suites for a very memorable holiday. We will return in the near future.More

Fabulous

This was our 2nd visit after being so impressed by the first. The only thing that I can think to whine about is that we didn't get the Marina view as we requested but maybe third time lucky. The suite we got was on the 8th floor with a see view, so I couldn't really complain too much. Being our second visit and having stayed self catering we decided upon arrival to go half board, all I can say is what a wonderful choice. The breakfasts were second to none with such a wide range to suit even the fussiest of diners. Then the evening meals were a buffet style with a different theme every night, again such a great choice and the dishes were topped up very frequently. I've read a lot about people moaning about the room between the sunbeds all I can say is get a life, the hotels staff do their best to try and accommodate everyone. The sunbeds located beside the two jazzucis are well spaced out if you want something more secluded. The only thing that I would say is that people were allowing their young kids into the jazzuci even though there is a notice stating over 16s only. Not wanting to be a party pooper the hotel management should try their best to enforce this rule, with maybe to allow older children in say maybe 10yrs and over. If people want their young kids to have a splash around there is a kiddies pool located beside the infinity pool. As for the accommodation the suites are very large and well equipped I've read a lot of reviews with people complaining about the lack of plugs, that can be easily remedied by buying an adaptor which converts into a double socket. Finally I would like to thank all the staff in making our stay very enjoyable especially Noemi who walks around enquiring about your stay and sorting out any problems which thankfully we had none. Hoping to book again for 2015.More

Good and spacious rooms, excellent for families

I was there with my husband and grandchildren (age 6 and 8), and had a really spacious room with large bathroom, kitchen corner with equipement and balcony with nice scenery to the marina and beach. Personel was frienly, cleaning ok and even the beds were good. I even didn't need to use my earplugs during nights, it was so quiet. It is typical scandinavian style, and even the clientele were mostly scandinavians. Only less good was, that the pool area was quite crowded, and there were a long line to the pool before opening. Anyhow, pool was large and deep enough for children of that age. For smaller children it is perhaps not so good. Poolside restaurant was like fast-food restaurant, but breakfast was good, with lot of various sortiments.More

Entertainment and Hotel

On my recent visit to the Marina Suites hotel I was overall very pleased again, this is the 4th time I have stayed in this hotel and throughly enjoyed my stay. This year I was a bit disappointed with the position of my room, 422, this received no sunlight on the balcony at all, I did asked to be changed but the hotel was very busy. Overall the cleanliness was good.I was greeted by a very friendly and happy man named Alex, this was just what you needed after all the travelling. This year the entertainment daytime and evening with Andreas and Sara was absolutely fantastic!! He made sure everyone was out to have a good time and to have good fun joining in. Andreas mannerisms are very pleasant and outstanding. Other entertainment in the evenings was also to a very high standard. Paco who was the bartender was also very friendly and always happy. I would recommend this hotel.More
