Marina Suites

The seafront infinity pool turns heads at this hotel, and the centre of Puerto Rico is a short stroll away.

Just a stone's throw from the beach and moments from Puerto Rico’s stylish marina, this hotel is in a first-class spot. It had a smart new look for summer 2015 – the buffet restaurant, pool area and rooms have been modernised and refreshed.

All the suites come with a view of the sea or marina, plus a roomy balcony or terrace from which to enjoy it. You’ll get a mini kitchen, complete with all the essentials – including a microwave and coffeemaker. Factor in a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa-bed and there’s plenty of space to spread out.

Can't wait to stay again

We were checked in and in our fantastic room (814) was exactly what we had imagined with amazing views of the Marina and Puerto Rico beyond. The rooms are amazing sizes and it was lovely to see the Romantic Package with rose petals on our beds! Lovely touch. We were half board and the breakfast in particular was amazing. The themed evening buffets were nice, although some bits don't keep warm so well, so tended to dry our a bit. That said there was always freshly cooked meat and fish too, and the fresh pasta was a hit with our 13 year old. Because this wasn't cheap to stay here and everything else was such a high standard, and deservedly so I would say my negatives were around the cleaning service and are probably more because I expect more for this standard of hotel. Our toilet seat was damaged on arrival which I just felt that was a silly thing not to have ben addressed, and the bedding was ripped, and some towels arrived stained or ripped. Also you have the lovely glass panel balcony and yet the glass wasn't cleaned once during our stay. Like I say they are me being hyper critical but just think that whilst the rooms are clean, they just need a refresh of the linen in particular. Will definitely be booking again though next year. Room tip- go for the Select Suite as the higher room views are well worth it. I do think it's time to include the hire of safe in the price though!More

Fantastic hotel

Just returned from the marina suites on 2 August after two weeks holiday and got to say this hotel was superb.Fantastic staff across whole hotel nothing two much trouble and extremely professional and pleasant.we stayed on seventh floor with great view of marina and sea .We had four adults in room and was plenty of space with large bedroom and living area. The only slight downside is pool area a bit cramped with sun beds but was a minor detail for us .We didn't eat much in hotel a few breakfasts and few snacks which were very nice. There are some lovely restaurants not far from hotel especially nube fusion just along from taj Indian next to supermarket. Most of nightlife in Puerto Rico is in the centres and can be a bit hit and miss to be fair .So next time I'm in Puerto Rico there's only one place to stay for me the marina suites for sure.😀👍More

Wonderful friendly hotel

Amazing room, absolutely enormous and although we were half board still had a microwave, hob, sink and fridge which made life easier. Beds were very comfortable and air con worked really well. Staff were incredible very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food excellent, very tasty and a great variety. Lots of lovely friendly local bars and restaurants within walking distance. My only disappointments were the reception had no air con and got really hot, so hot that I passed out in there on the first night, and the pool area and sun bed were just too small for the size of the Hotel making it a bit of a free for all to bag a sunbed in the morning, they did try to do something about it by not allowing you to save a bed and if you didn't use it within 45 minutes they removed your personal belongings which was a help.More

Debra H,

Great location, ruined by kids.

Having heard so much about this beautiful hotel, we were excited to relax in and by the infinity pool, or sunbathe in peace in the sectioned off jacuzzi area, however to our disappointment it was rarely quiet or peaceful with the vast amount of screaming children - diving, splashing and seemingly let loose by their parents. Being a young couple, our intentions were to unwind and yet when by the pool this was nearly impossible, which meant out of our 10 day trip we only spent 2 days poolside - a let down for sure. Our room was stunning and had a breathtaking view of the Marina and ocean, which softened the blow not using the pool as we had imagined. Staff were extremely helpful, advising us on clubs, restaurants and even organising day trips without the bat of an eyelid. Would recommend to others, although would warn about likelihood of children.More

Dezzy O,

Great location, Great accommodation !

Just returned from a great stay at the Marina Suites, Puerto Rico. These apartments are excellent, very spacious, clean and extremely well appointed. Four of us stayed comfortably in a one bed apartment. Lovely large balcony over looking the marina. Plenty of plug points which is now a must with 2 teenagers with a myriad of devices to charge ! Talking of which there is free wifi in every apartment (not so great around the pool) but good in the room. We had the bed and breakfast option which was very good value, the food was great and plenty of choice. The absolute stand out feature of this hotel though is the pool, yes it does get busy and its not huge but the infinity pool looking out over the Atlantic is stunning, watching the various boats going in and out of the harbour from the poolside really was a great part of the holiday. The Marina suites are really well positioned, there are plenty of fantastic restaurants all near by, a few worth a mention are Izamar, situated opposite the beach in a small row of about 6 restaurants and El Guanche, under a road bridge, up a small hill to the right of the hotel, excellent service and food in both. The main commercial center is about a 15 minute walk away, this is much busier, 2 places worth a mention there are Bubbles restaurant and La Bolera restaurant and bar, but there are absolutely loads to choose from. Days out to recommend would be the ferry boat to Mogan, which is a beautiful little town and Amadores beach which can be walked to along the sea front. We hired a car for a few days to get out and about, although having now been to the resort of Puerto Rico most places are accessible via either public transport or taxi (which are reasonably priced) the other problem we encountered with the car was parking, which can get very expensive if you want to park in the harbour outside the hotel. Free parking can be found about a 5/10 minute walk away. All in all we had a lovely holiday and the Marina Suites are a great place to stay, my only small grip would be the price of drinks in the hotel are a little pricey, compared to the surrounding bars and restaurants, other then that definitely a 10 out of 10.
