Great stay - Highly recommend it
I have stayed with my partner for one week and left the hotel yesterday. Check-in was fast and the receptionist was very informative. We were also informed on check-in that we had food amenities in the room as we arrived at 2am. We were very impressed as this is a nice touch. Moreover, as it was our one year anniversary, we had also received a room upgrade with a big double bed instead on twin beds which we have previously booked. The room was gorgeous, on the ninth floor, with balcony and a lovely view of the swimming pool and the sea. In terms of restaurant, it was really nice as it is outdoors with palm trees which gave it an exotic touch. I have read some reviews before writing this, such as the one written by BabsandAde. I believe this person's comments were mean as the restaurant was lovely and the waiting times for the fresh food (meet and seafood) were not as bad as he/she mentioned. Sometimes I would receive the food right away without waiting and on other days, we would wait 2 minutes maximum, no big deal. We're on holiday, we have no reason to be time-pressured. I have worked in several 5 star hotels for 2 years so I know all the inside outs of the hospitality industry. I would have a suggestion to the staff regarding the dress code for the restaurant at dinner times. I know that men should wear shoes at dinner time and although staff were doing their best to advise guests to not wear flip flops, there were still some men wearing flip flops. Maybe it would be worth mentioning about the dress code to each guest upon check-in or write this information on the paper that guests receive with the hotel information, breakfast and dinner times. I would like to mention that Victoria the housekeeper did a great job. She had noticed that we preferred to sleep with only one smaller pillow instead of two so she placed the extra 2 pillows on the side. Great attention to detail so well done. Check-out was smooth as well. We checked out at noon and we were allowed to go to a shower room where we could have shower and change after we had checked out. Please bear in mind that most hotels (all the hotels I know so far) have the check-out policy at noon so there is no need to be disappointed if you cannot keep the room longer than noon because this is their policy (even if you check-in very late). Exceptions could be made only if availability and hotel allows it so this should not be taken for granted. Some hotels do not allow later check-out without extra cost despite availability because this is their policy. Overall, it was a great experience and the staff made us feel special. Staff is friendly and I highly recommend this hotel. Hotel is also very close to the beach. We will definitely stay here if we return to Gran Canaria.More
We have just returned from a fantastic weeks holiday at this hotel. The staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble for them. From our check in very late on Saturday evening to our check out the following week our experience just got better and better. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and have lovely views over the pool area. The food was fantastic, as much choice as anyone could want and a lovely outside eating area to make every meal extra special. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach which is extremely clean and well looked after. The hotel had guests from many different countries, and were made up of families and couples of all different ages. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will hopefully return soon.More
Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 10 days in late July. Upon arrival was greated by a friendly member of staff who checked us in quickly and was very informative. Our room was of a good size with a balcony overlooking the pool area. Walk in shower with a separate closet for our clothes. I would advise to ask for a room on a higher level. The food was lovely and you had the choice of eating inside and out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were very friendly throughout the hotel. The pool was very nice with a kids pool also. Sun beds were of a good standard with additional cushions so very comfortable. you could also get a fresh towel every day. If you want a sun bed then I advise you get up early as the one downside to this place is there are not enough. The poolside bar was good with some nice seating areas. I would say sometimes a little understaffed. In the evening my advise would be find a table and use the waiter service. Ironing room and showers also for that have late flights and have had to checkout. There are two private roof terraces with jacuzzi's for 50 euros a day enough beds for 8 people. Well worth the money, used them twice during our stay. I would suggest you book in advance of your trip. Two well equipped gyms one is rooftop with cardio machines one is lower that weights also. The beach is 5 minutes walk and you can take your hotel towel with you. 2 x beds and a parasol are 7.50 euro's a day. There is entertainment at the hotel but never watched it to be honest as it was inside. The all inclusive finnish's at 11pm.More
Just back from a week in this lovely hotel. The array of food was amazing - great choice and quality. Good quality drinks too. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment is available and day time sporting activities if required. Hotel clean, great size room, dressing room is great for teens who need their privacy! Sunbeds with matts were so comfortable . Lovely size hotel so the children can wander around without getting lost. Thank you for a relaxing holiday - now I need to diet!!More

Not too impressed
Myself and partner stayed here for a week in the first week of July. We chose this hotel due to reviews on TripAdvisor however we wished further research was done. This is a German Hotel chain, which does not bother us, however from that you can tell the majority of hotel guests were German and were treated as a priority from all hotel staff. We arrived in the evening, check in was quick and easy however in this day and age it is disappointing that a safe is chargeable at 2 Euros a day. Room was of a good size and the "walk in wardrobe" was good. There is a kettle in the room however you have to complete a form to request tea or coffee - not sure why. In our opinion we found that the buffet was quite limited and samey, yes the chiefs do cook fresh meat and fish to order but the queues were ridiculous at times. The toaster for breakfast was poor as it never toasted the bread and we noticed on a number of occasions that pigeons would peck off the serving spoons and the food itself. Not very hygienic as spoons, or the food trays, were not replaced. When the chefs noticed the pigeons, all they did was throw pieces of bread at them however again, no food trays or spoons were replaced. The restaurant is very cramped with tables very close together which meant that you would more often than not had to share a table. The restaurant is divided into smoking and non smoking but it is pointless as even if you were sat in non smoking, the tables are that close it doesn't make a difference. We don't mind smoking however not in a restaurant setting. The pool bar had a selection of drinks, disappointed that there were not more choices of cocktails and that Malibu was chargeable when other branded spirits were included. We noticed that the bar tenders served the guests they knew first, and you are supposed to give your room card to staff for this to be swiped - this rule was not in place for the well known visitors at the bar. There are a reasonable amount of sun beds however if you wanted to be near the pool, you would need to queue up until it opened at 8.45am. I do think it's a good idea that sun beds can't be reserved prior to this however if you do want a sun bed you need to make sure you are there no later than 10am. As mentioned at the start of this review we arrived in the evening however when we tried to extend the room on the last day we were advised that this would not be possible as the guests having our room were arriving early. We felt that we had missed out although we could use the all inclusive package until 17:00. Our return transfer was 19:00. We will not be staying here again. More
