Excellent Choice for Relaxing Holiday
Just returned from a week at the H10, the third year running in early March. Booked privilege level, which we think is well worth the small extra supplement. As always, the hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are well maintained. Notable improvements this year are that both pools are now heated and extra balinese sunbeds in the privlege sunbathing area. Just a couple of small points of concern: 1) the daily specials menu in the Gaudi restaurant has been discontinued, limiting the choice, especially if you are staying more than 7 nights (big problem also if you don't like fish!) 2) on several occasions, we had to go looking for staff at 7pm in the evening to replenish vodka, gin, martini etc in the privilege lounge. We also noticed the lack of canapés at this time. We just got the feeling that a bit of cost saving might be going on within the Privilege package? However, despite these minor grumbles, we had a great time and look forward to returning next year.More
Another enjoyable stay
This is our third stay at this hotel. We stayed as Privilege and All Inclusive guests. We love this hotel. It's position, the atmosphere, cleanliness and the super staff. I would give it five stars, but I do feel that the bedrooms are a little dated. Although I have to say they are spotlessly clean. We stayed for two weeks and didn't like the new Gaudi menu as much as the old one when there was a daily menu. If the hotel is to keep this new menu, may I suggest that there is a daily special each day, both for a starter and a main course. That would be very beneficial for the guests who are staying for two weeks or more. The food quality was excellent and we were very well looked after by Nicoletta and her excellent team. We will be back!More
It's the last night of a week's holiday here. The hotel is, in my view, first class - highly professional and very well organised. It is clear that all the staff are well trained and chosen for their friendly, attentive, but unobtrusive personalities. It's a huge hotel, but it never felt too crowded or hectic. I recommend doing the hotel tour, as it gives a very good overview of all the hotel has to offer. I liked the fact there were clear adult only areas. The infinity pool is fabulous and is the warmest of the pools. A free shuttle bus takes you to Maspalomas beach, where you can shop, or catch buses to other parts of the island, but, if you just want a chill out week, there is no need to leave the hotel. It is in a fabulous position, with views out to the sea and the golf course alongside. The beach, some bars/restaurants and supermarket are across the road if you need them. The rooms are spotlessly clean, quiet and well equipped - you can get a kettle for a small charge, if you ask (or bring one!!) The food in the buffet offers a fantastic choice - I found plenty to eat and I'm on a gluten free diet and prefer vegetarian food. I particularly loved the salad and starter selection. Fresh meat and fish are cooked to order, if you want. The spa is wonderful. I paid extra to go in there, on the one somewhat cloudy day, and had had a very relaxing time. It costs 15 Euros, but you can go in and out all day. Other free activities are arranged on a daily basis and the board outside the main buffet restaurant gives information about these. I can't fault this hotel and, to all those who have made negative comments online. I have to ask 'did you tell anyone at the hotel you weren't happy?' I'm sure, if you had done, the staff at this hotel would have done their absolute best to help you and put things right. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a very relaxing break.More
Disappointing - not a 5 star hotel
We are two young professionals that travel quite a lot around the world and this has been a very disappointing experience, for the following reasons: 1. Location: ok but it's the last hotel of the promenade, which means it's not as close as the other 5 star hotels in the area to the shopping and dining area by the Maspalomas lighthouse. 1.8km walk to be exact. 2. Wifi is extremely poor and non-existent in the rooms. Maintenance came and change the router but it didn't make a difference. Connection in the lobby and other areas of the hotel drops constantly. 3. The room: it's old fashioned, quite shocking actually when you come in for the first time. There is a bit of a funny smell coming from the bathroom too. 4. No kettle or coffee machine in the room. We asked the receptionist if we could get one and I'm still waiting. 5. The tv didn't work properly, the signal was poor but by then I didn't have any strength to ask for that to be fixed. 6. The spa is very small given how many guest rooms there are. Also not included in half board rates, it costs 15 euros per person per day. Very cheeky considering the high per night rates you pay for this quality. I suggest if you'd like to use any spa facilities that you go to any of the hotels in the area, Villa del Conde or Lopesan or RIU, you still need to pay but you get a much better experience. 7. I called one day for ice and they literally told me that the ice was free but it would cost 7 euros to bring it to the room. 8. Even if you pay for half board drinks are not included, not even one drink. I understand you can't have unlimited drinks but not even one included is not normal. Also they don't make you aware at the check-in or online when booking the hotel. 9. The pool is very small and gets overcrowded very quickly. Not a lot of sun beds and a lot of people reserve them, you get there and there's not many option. I'd suggest you reserve too. 10. There are a lot of leaks in the hotel. It rained on 2 of the days of our stay and they hide these leaks by putting carpets or mats on the floor. On the plus side: 1. All the staff are very nice, extremely polite and welcoming. 2. The gym is small but it's got a good variety of equipment. 3. There is a nice beach directly in front of the hotel. 4. The food is really good, lots of variety and good quality. More
Superb food : lovely location.
This was our 4th visit to the H10 Meloneras Palace the first being 2009/2010 as then and just returning earlier this month we were still impressed with everything about the hotel , and all the staff we came into contact with. Nothing was to much trouble, and we came home feeling completly relaxed. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing break.More
