If you like the sound of Canarian bungalows, pretty gardens, and a peaceful pool, this place will be right up your street.
The ace in the pack at these bungalows is their peaceful, private setting. Everything’s surrounded by pretty gardens, including a curvy pool that comes with a snack bar dishing out fast food snacks.
Whitewashed walls and green shutters give the bungalows a traditional feel. They’re nice and airy, too, with bright white walls, cool tiled floors, and a furnished terrace. Cooking essentials like a fridge, hob, and toaster can be found in the kitchenette. And there’s a minimarket right in front of the hotel for when the cupboards are looking a bit Old Mother Hubbard. Alternatively, make tracks for the buffet restaurant located within the nearby sister hotel, Cordial Green Golf, which is paired with an al fresco terrace.
Although you’re in a serene spot, Maspalomas’ beach, prom, and restaurants are only 10 minutes away on the free shuttle bus. Plus, you’ve got a golf course as your next door neighbour.
My partner, two friends and I have just returned from a two week stay in Gran Canaria at Cordial Sandy Golf. On the whole the stay was very good. We arrived and checked in shortly after 11pm on Tuesday 12th August only to find that the bungalows were no where near any open shops and unfortunately as it is self catering we needed supplies (bottled water etc.) The small shop based below the Green Golf opposite had already shut so we had to jump into a cab - If you are arriving late please bear this in mind! On reflection it would have been wiser to buy bottled water and basic overnight supplies on the way out of Las Palmas Airport.
Our bungalow was very well stocked with utilities for making all kinds of foods and drinks. There was a stove, kettle, fridge/freezer and toaster. As well as a small breakfast bar the room contained a sofa and table to sit and eat at.
Despite booking the room with my partner we were given two separate single beds which were pushed together. This wasn't too much of a pain I would of preferred a normal double bed...We had a few close moments of nearly falling through the middle!
Although there was no air con the ceiling fans and slate covered windows sufficed. The rooms would naturally become very warm during the day but cooled down quickly at night. The reception offered air con machines to rent out at a set rate but we opted out. If you choose to keep your windows open at night you may want a strong insect repellant as Mosquitos will fly in.
The rooms were cleaned daily and the maids were very polite - they kept everything immaculate including the grounds. The bungalows are set in beautiful grounds and the scenery is lovely. It was surrounded by all types of flowers and wildlife. We often came across cats, lizards, canary birds, hedgehogs and the odd red dragonfly.
Each room had its own front patio area with sun beds on and a further table and chairs. This was great as the other couple we were with we're staying opposite so we could have drinks and socialise around the outside tables. There was also a separate private area out of the back of the bungalow to hang clothes and towels.
The pool was clean and calm for the majority of the time and we never had a problem getting a sun bed in the morning even when arriving late. It helped having our own sun beds on our patio anyway as we could use these if need be. On a few occasions I became frustrated with the noise levels from local children - this was also a problem late into the night (yet I guess in the height of summer season this was to be expected!)
The TV in the room also required a rent charge which we thankfully opted out of - it only contained 2 English news channels from what we heard! The only thing we did pay for was the safe and had no problems with this.
The local bus service went to most of the places we wanted to visit - Puerto Rico, Palmitos Park, Aqua Park, Faro and Amadorres Beach all for a couple of euros. A free bus also runs on a couple of days a week to Crocodillo Park - a leaflet and all the information was available in reception. Taxis were readily available outside 24/7 and were relatively cheap e.g €25 to Amadorres Beach between four of us wasn't too bad! Just be weary about pronunciation as most of the cab drivers didn't speak good English and we ended up in faro instead of faro two on one occasion!
Unfortunately the biggest let down for Cordial Sandy Golf was some of their staff. On our first day around the pool the man working at the pool bar was rude and didn't really even want to acknowledge us. He made us feel very uncomfortable. Strangely on all of the other days we visited the pool the other male working at the pool bar was totally the opposite. He was very friendly and funny. Many of the reception staff were helpful albeit for the lady on our last day. As we had a late flight at 10pm we wanted to have a later check out as it would mean sitting around from 12am and asked about it a week beforehand. The staff told us it may be possible but we needed to double check the day before due to availability. We did just that - we were told our rooms were being used as soon as we left so alternatively a separate guest room would be available in the morning for the four of us to have a shower and store our suitcases etc.
Upon check-out the lady on reception told us the guest room was now also categorically unavailable. She simply took our suitcases and dumped them in a nearby cleaning cupboard. My partner then asked if we could print our online boarding passes for the flight - she blankly refused and said no such printing facility existed on reception - she insisted the nearest printer was a cab ride away in Faro Shopping area. Unsatisfied with her reply we went across the road to Green Golf where the receptionist printed our documents off straight away without question!
Later on we came to collect our suitcases from the cupboard in preparation for leaving and a different member of staff was on reception. As we got our suitcases out he asked if we wanted to use the guest room for a shower...the same one that was apparently unavailable earlier in the day. Either the lady who checked us out didn't know what she was doing or she doesn't know much about customer service. Whatever it was it left a sour taste to what was a very good holiday. More

Roll on november
We have stayed at Sandy Golf many times over the years and we love it. We are returning in November and are looking forward to a nice relaxing and peaceful holiday. Sandy Golf is a little paradise, the pool area and gardens are so pretty and although there is an area of scrub land to the side, once inside it's beautiful. We love to swim in the massive round pool which is in the centre of the complex and is in a stunning setting. The bungalows are always kept clean and tidy and have each got their own patio and garden area with sunbeds and sun shade. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful and any little problems have always been sorted immediately. The bar staff are very friendly and serve delicious pizza and other snacks. There is a free bus to the beach and Playa Del Ingles several times a day. Palmitos park is a bus ride away and you can spend the whole day there, its a wonderful day out for all the family. Can't wait for our return in novemberMore

Nice to have a bungalow, no air conditioner, but ceiling fans work well. Place is tidy, but we had a problem this year with creepy critters that took a few days to sort out. Bonus is the free shuttle to the beach or Playa Del Ingles.More

Better than we could have imagined!
We arrived home today after a lovely relaxing 10 day stay. I travelled with my husband, 17 year old daughter and her friend. We had 2 bungalows and I emailed ahead to ask they be near each other, which on arrival found they were actually next door to each other which was brilliant from our point of view. The bungalows were immaculately clean and tidy with a small patio area for each one. We hired the safe in each bungalow and personally found the cost to be very reasonable, 19 Euros each plus a 10 Euro deposit for each. Our bungalows were on the outer circle, and a few previous reviews had said about a lot of road noise, I can honestly say we didn't find a problem with this at all. The beds are quite firm, along with the pillows. I found the pillows too hard but used the cushions off the sofa as they were a lot softer - but this is more personal preference rather than a problem! The kitchen was fully equipped should you need it, we only used it for lunch. There is no kettle but as we drink coffee we found it to be no problem as the coffee machine was adequate. Also there is a small outside area which is quite private which is ideal for drying swimwear and towels etc. The property do offer free wi-fi in public areas, but this didn't quite reach our bungalows, but I believe the inner circle would be within reach. The only reason we can see that the property has a 1 key rating would be that they have very little to offer by way of drinking and dining. There is a pool bar which serves snacks etc through the day, but closes at 7pm. No entertainment, (didn't bother us, we don't go in for that sort of thing). However, the Cordial Green Golf had restaurant, bars evening entertainment and a supermarket which the Sandy Golf residents could use, this is literally just across the road. The supermarket was however, not very well stocked until the day before we were due to leave, so we did find ourselves picking bits up in the evening when we went out if we felt we needed to. The staff here are very helpful, pleasant, friendly etc. we were unable to keep our rooms later on the day of departure, but they provided a room for us to use for showers and chilling out before we left - this was very much appreciated! The location was great for us, 5 minute cab journey to either Meloneras or Playa del Ingles, cost approx 4Euros. The Faro 2 centre is about a 5/10 minute walk away, but is almost like a ghost area now, completely different to many years ago, but the restaurants that are left still offer excellent good and drinks at excellent prices. We would definitely return as it ticked all the right boxes for us, and would recommend it to ANYONE!More
