September 2017 Orquidea hotel
I had an amazing holiday! Orquidea hotel is huge and loads of entertainment during the day. Sport activities like body balance, volleyball, football, aqua basketball, aqua disco, big swimming-pool at Spa centre, gym, yoga and etc. It is the Best hotel if you are travelling with kids as they have Kids club activities all day long: Bamse Club, Baby Club, Kids Club Family and sport activities - it is fun!!! The food was great and you have a lot of choice every day, also they have healthy option & gluten free food which is great! Separate section for kids to eat. Loads of cakes, pancakes, chocolate fountain and ice cream is available all day long :-) They do omelets of your choice for breakfast. Grilled fish, meat for lunch/dinner. Wine, beer, Sangria available during meals - you can help yourself. Pool bar serves nice iced mojitos and if you are all incl there is no limits on drinks. Free towels at pool area. Free wifi in whole hotel & rooms. The rooms are cleaned every day and you get fresh towels every day. The entertainment team are amazing - very friendly, fun and happy to help you in any way :-) The kou kou move song & dance was my favourite - loved it !:-) Thank you Tui Family Life & Thompson for an amazing holidays!!!! Ignore the complainers!!!
Stayed here for 7 nights first week in September and it was fantastic, I couldn't find anything to complain about at all. The hotel is very, clean and well maintained and all around the reception areas there was always a lovely smell. We had a split level twin room with a pool view and balcony on the second floor. The room was huge and probably about double the size of a standard hotel room for two. The bathroom was also huge and had a large walk in shower, much more easily accessible than the usual shower over the bath scenario and the water pressure was so good you had to turn it down a little. The air conditioning also worked so well at times we had to turn it down slightly. There was always plenty of sun beds available, even at 10am, the area around the pool was really hot (28/29 degrees all week) but we always found a spot down towards the beach where you could get shade from one of the huge palm trees and also benefit from the lovely ocean breeze. Food was excellent and there was always a good selection, anyone who couldn't find something at each meal is hard to please. I couldn't write a review of this resort without mentioning the entertainment team, they never stop working. They are constantly on the go tirelessly and enthusiastically organising really fun stuff to do and they were all super talented. I would definitely return to Orquidea and can highly recommend it to others. More
Great hotel in good location
Lovely trip, great staff, good food, good room, lots going on for familys, perfect for a getaway, would highly recommend. Location good away from the masses but easy to get to other parts of the island attractions.More
Before I came to this hotel my holiday was ruined already, I was forced to change as I was originally going to Tenerife but due to maintenance working taking place I chose Gran Canaria. At this point I was fed up and I just wanted to be on holiday so I was a little sceptical about coming. From when I arrived to when I had gone home everything was perfect!!!! I was all inclusive. Breakfast was great so much choice and the snacks were good too, the buffet at night wasn't the best but we decided to eat out at night anyway. (For families and less fussy people it will be ok) the hotel was great, I paid extra for an upgrade on my room and it was a junior suite which was perfect, lots of space, new design and cleaned every day without fail. (However I have not seen the standard rooms). Baring in mind I only paid £50 extra which was definitely worth it. Pool area is massive great atmosphere lots of space but sometimes struggle for beds if you are late down. The weather was fantastic, we didn't expect it to be hot hot but it was high 30's. night entertainment was great funny and always something different. I couldn't really fault this hotel apart from the night time food and that's it really! I would definitely come back here. More
We had an amazing family holiday here for 1 week 19th August. The hotel was really clean & well looked after. Our room was on the 11th floor which was ideal and was perfect for 2 adults & 3 children(9,6 & 4.5years old) They really enjoyed the kids clubs & the childcare staff were really friendly & helpful. Choice of 3 pools baby, medium & large and a small splash pool area for them to run around. Food & drink we were also really impressed with we were worried as past reviews weren't so good but I would highly recommend a family holiday here 😀 Would also recommend a day trip to palmitos park loads of animals, shows going on throughout the day & the dolphin show was amazing. And great priceMore
