Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area pleasant and sheltered from strong winds. Large pool with plenty of sun beds and scattered palm trees. Room had everything we needed. The food was very tasty and there was a good selection of meals. Clean everywhere.More

Great for families
My husband and two children (13 and 10) went to Monte Feliz at the end of July/beginning of August with Thomson. Check in took a while as we arrived at 2am and there was only one receptionist dealing with three groups of people. We hired the air conditioning remote and a safe. There isn't any wifi in the rooms only in the spacious reception area but then, who goes on holiday to surf the web? The room was huge and consisted of two bedrooms, one kitchen/diner/living area (with sofa bed) a bathroom and a balcony. We had a fridge, microwave, hob, large dining table, adequate cutlery and crockery and a kettle. The beds were comfortable and spacious and the bedrooms had large mirrored wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps and one bedroom had a suitcase stand. Our balcony looked out over the children's little splash park which was running for most of the day. Cleaners came in most days to clean the kitchen, mop the floor, make the beds and change the toilet roll and towels. They were very friendly, as were all the staff we encountered in the hotel. The little supermarket was great although there is a larger supermarket down the hill for more variety. I didn't find the walk up and down the hill particularly strenuous although I can imagine after spending a whole day on the little rocky beach it may be quite tiring for children or if you are pushing a pushchair. The pool is a good size and there are plenty of loungers. The usual 9am lounger reservation rush happened at Monte Feliz just as it does at every other hotel. As soon as the pool opened, all loungers were reserved with towels. There were a couple of pool and air hockey tables near the pool in shaded areas and a poolside WC. The food was good if a little samey. The children found loads to eat and it was good to have information and allergen advice cards above each dish. Every night there was a different flavoured paella, pasta, pasta sauces, chips, plain rice, salad items and bread. There was always soup and a large selection of desserts including ice cream. The meat dishes changed every evening. We had veal, pork, beef, chicken etc. There was a large selection at breakfast too including porridge and brocolli (?) There are a large number of stray cats around the hotel and sometimes they would find their way into the restaurant to beg for food. The staff would try to shoo them out when they noticed but lots of guests took to feeding the kittens under the table leading to even more begging by the cats. The only issue we had whilst staying at Monte Feliz came in the form of a large family of other guests spread across three rooms on our floor. They kept their doors open and yelled at each other often well past midnight. One night it sounded like they were dragging a trolley up and down the corridor, the children thundered past our door screaming at each other and when they did close their doors they would slam them. The children would sit in the reception area and terrorise any kids that walked past. I think the staff at Monte Feliz must have had a word with them because they became much quieter after about three days. There is a lovely walk along the front and although there is a raised area with sun loungers and an artificial beach, the main beach is pebble. We hired a car for ten days and visited many other places on the island. We went to Aqualand twice and to Palmatis Zoo. One day we went into the mountains on the GC-65 (brilliant road! All Tarmac and lots of barriers), we saw Mogan - the 'Venice' of Gran Canaria; we went to Galdar in the north to visit an archaeological dig and museum and Las Palmas the capital. We also rode a camel in Maspalomas and sat on the huge sandy beach, we ran up and down the sand dunes at Playa Del Ingles and spent some time in the evening at Holiday World so the kids could go up and down on the Sky Drop. In all it was a great holiday and I would definitely recommend Monte Feliz.More

Nice hotel but a lot should be changed
I stayed here with my 2 young children 4 and 10 for a week in August. I'll start with the good things;very clean hotel, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere at the pool side, the food in the hotel was nice, rooms were cleaned every other day. Now for the not so good points, the hotel is based in Bahia feliz located on a hill, ive seen many reviews stating that it's not far from anything, however I disagree, it took 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop and then a further 15 minutes journey time to playa del ingles which is very lively, full of restaurants, entertainment and shops as well as the beach. I think this hotel should invest in family entertainment during the evenings as there's not much going on there and it can be very boring once you get back. People were queuing up at the poolside from 8am when the pool opened to lay out their towels on the sun beds before anyone else got to them, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous especially when half the time they didn't even return to go back to the pool so many sunbeds were unused which wasn't fair on people who were actually using the pool and needed use of the sun-beds. You have to pay to watch the tv, which is shocking considering they have no entertainment! We had a late flight returning home so we checked out at 11am and stayed by the pool until our transfer came but when we asked if they had a shower to use we were told "not today". This was disappointing as most hotels have a shower you can use once you have checked out. All in all the hotel itself is nice, if I could take the hotel and move it somewhere else I would. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday then it's ideal. For younger people wanting a little more excitement I would not recommend.More

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel we were a group of six! Check in was very slow as this was 3am, and only 1 person on the desk, you have to pay for air con and a safe but only get some of the money back for them at the end when you check out. We had beautiful rooms over looking the splash park, rooms were very spacious with a little kitchen and a big bathroom, the kitchen had everything you needed in it if you went self catering. beds were very comfy, the maids came in 3 times in the week we stayed there and only changed the bedding once, but towels were changed pretty much almost every day. Maids were very pleasant :) THE FOOD: The food wasn't best if I'm honest, if your a fussy eater this hotel isn't for you unless you want to live off pasta and chips! My partners mum found A PIECE OF COTTON IN HER FOOD! we pulled over a waiter called carlos and told him about his, he took the plate of food off us and never came back to say sorry. VERY RUDE! The restaurant isn't big enough for the size of the hotel and the amount of guests that are at the hotel, the pot washer's couldn't replenish the clean plates and cutlery fast enough, so basically you went up for your first plate of food, by the time you had finished that and went up and got another place there was nothing left, so you were stood waiting around for a plate and even when they did come out clean, some were chipped and had hair line cracks in them and i even found dirty ones!!!!!!!!!!! The amount of flys that come in the restaurant and landed on you was horrible!!! yes i get that they have to have the windows open and doors as it is a hot country, but theres a thing called AIR CON!!!! i saw air con machines on the walls but they were never turned on???? The toaster is far to slow, you literally waiting 10 minutes for some toast!! Wild Cats even came into the restaurant and guests were feeding them so they came back for more! One night i fancied some ice cream, i chose a green one, assuming it was mint but NO it was pistachio nut?? there was no labels on the ice creams, good job I'm not allergic to nuts. THE SWIMMING POOL: this was amazing!! it was so big, there wasn't a spec of mould anywhere, the water is salt water so the pool was always cold, but you don't mind that when its like 30 degrees. i wad told that you couldn't have large inflatables, you could only have small ones but where had what ever size they wanted and the life guard didn't say nothing! The life guard was very sassy when doing aqua aerobics which was funny. the pool opened at 9am and closed at 8pm, you could not reserve sunbeams before this time (9am) as the pool was chained off at night time, however the last night when we stayed at this hotel we saw people in the swimming pool until 8:30pm????? not sure why they were aloud to do this? and there is a splash park onsite which is good for smaller children There were a few, french, spanish and german people at this hotel, which i don't mind, but when it comes to the point you have to make 4 complaints to reception about the noise level at 12 midnight its not good, and alls reception did was call security and alls they did was move them along and you could still hear them!!!!!! overall the hotel was ok. the location was ok, super market near by, about 1\2 mile from the hotel, and a few shop and restaurants. if you get the chance to go to aqua land you need to go! it was amazing!!!! rather expensive for food but its what you'd expect! we had a good holiday, just the food and the noise from other guests let it down.More
