Monte Feliz, Bahia Feliz
Advertised as a 4 star but should be a 3 star. Acceptable accommodation, clean & suitable for purpose but rather basic. Staff very helpful. Resort is quite small & stoney beach not suitable for children. Very impressive Chinese restaurant in the resort best Chinese food I have ever tasted.More
Disappointed this time!
We visited the Monte Feliz Hotel in September 2016 and had a fantastic room overlooking the pool area. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked again for 23rd February for a week. However, the room we had this time was not the best!! We had room 4009 which gets absolutely no sun on it at all. We do like to use our room in the evenings for a bit of evening sun and a glass or two of wine! but we couldn't do this and had to sit inside the room instead. We have decided that we wouldn't stay there again. Plus's are that the food was wonderful, plenty of choice for our evening meal, as we stayed half board this time. Staff are lovely and always very helpful.More

Food excellent both in variety and standard. well presented.I had to congratulate the head of the restaurant on all aspects of the place. Only negative...â¬25 for the use of the safe for a week! Great holiday, lovely hotel.
Myself, my wife and a friend of ours had a 2 bedroom apartment (room 4303) during the first week in February 2017. Never having stayed here before, we normally stay at the H10 in Meloneras , I was a little concerned that we would be disappointed with the Monte Feliz, I shouldn't have worried. Although it doesn't have the extras of the 5 star hotel it more than made up for it in friendliness, cleanliness and room facilities. We stayed B&B choosing to eat out every night in the restaurants that are in and around the square down the hill (ok going down but got steeper coming back as the week wore on !!). The apartment was excellent with two large double bedrooms, remember abroad a double bed tends to be two large singles pushed together, a lounge area with table, chairs a settee and a small kitchen area with 3 ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle etc , everything you could need if you were self catering. The bathroom was very modern with an over bath shower and plenty of hot water. There was a small balcony with a table and chairs, we overlooked the childrens water park area and out to sea.The balcony got the afternoon and evening sun, a lovely place to sit and watch the sun go down with a cool beer! There is a TV in the room, you have to pay extra if you want the remote to use it, we didn't bother ,we were on holiday and you pay extra for wifi in the room. We just used the free wifi in the bar and reception area to check messages etc. There is also a large fridge freezer which was handy for keepinmg water, drinks etc cool. The standard of cleanliness was amazing , we swore that if we stood still long enough someone would come over and dust us!! We've never seen so many staff cleaning both inside and outside around the pools and gardens. The main pool area does become busy during the day, although a "no reservation of sunbeds" is supposed to operate we didn't see it imposed at all and some beds remained "towelled but free" from 8.00am late afternoon which could be annoying. We tended to be out walking along the coast in the morning and when we got back we settled by the children's water play area which was in full sun and always empty. I can't understand why the parents with small children opted to squeeze in by the main pool when the children's area, a lovely safe place, remained almost empty. Some of the softer yellow sunbeds would be nice in that area rather than the hard white plastic ones. As we were on B&B we only, except for one night, had breakfast in the restaurant, as you would expect it served the usual range of cooked food, cold meats, breads etc. The one night we ate in we enjoyed a lovely roast pork meal, with all the trimmings, starter salad and sweets all for 12 Euros per person, excellent value. We also had one meal from the pool bar at lunchtime and again it was excellent. All the staff were first class, special mention for Victor and Edwardo in the restaurant and the girls on reception, as well as the cleaners!! We had a couple of problems in the room, only 2 chairs on the balcony for 3 people and the bathroom lock was very stiff. Both problems were sorted out immediately on contacting reception with a chair being brought up straight away and the bathroom lock replaced whilst we were in breakfast, smashing service. A good sign of a holiday is would you return to the hotel again? All 3 of us agreed when we were leaving that we would have no hesitation in returning to the Monte Feliz.More
