A Good Solid Hotel
We have spent two weeks here and been very happy. The food is excellent, especially if you are willing to try things like the fresh cooked fish. There is a good mix of food available, much cooked fresh as you wait. No problem if your a fussy eater, there's pasta, pizza etc. There is a good kids corner and a carvery every night. We had no bother getting a seat each evening, you can sit in the main restaurant, outside or in the Los Nidos extra seating area. We didn't get up till after 9 each day and there was still plenty of seating so don't worry about that. Sunbeds consist of the poolside area and a lower garden terrace overlooking the sea. Don't be misled. If you want the front row of sunbeds by the pool, you would need to get up early, but their is room for everyone and actually we preferred the lower area overlooking the sea. This is a family hotel, the reps work very hard, and it is busy, but their is a pleasant atmosphere. Don't miss out on your free meal at the Taverna. Again the food their was wonderful. The spa is also worth a visit for adults looking to retreat. Its€20 for 2hr 30mins but worth it. The global buses(local bus service) are very reliable. You can easily get to maspalomas for a day at the beach. There is also a daily bus to aqualand and palmitos park. We went to palmitos park and can highly recommend it. Wonderful views, plenty of shade for walking on hot days, and the parrot, dolphin and exotic birds shows are fantastic. Bahia Feliz is a small resort but it has a nice walk along the coast and if you want to swim I the sea, which we did twice with the kids you can at low tide. It also has a small shopping area opposite the hotel where you can get the basics such as holiday souvenirs and anything you may have forgotten. For a family of four the rooms are a good size and the views from the 8th floor were great. Our room was cleaned every day and we didn't have any complaints about cleanliness around the hotel or in our room. I was a bit concerned reading reviews before I came, but we have had a great time, so order a rum miel and sit back and relax and enjoy your holiday.More
We are on our last day of stay at this hotel. I'll be quite pleased to return home tomorrow just to get some peace and quiet. We are staying as a family of 5 - myself, husband and 3 year old and my mum and dad. We booked 2 split level rooms with pool view. We have previously stayed at 3 other Thompson holiday hotels and have always been very impressed. 2 of those were adult only hotels and 1 (last year) was a family life hotel in Rhodes which was superb. To compare this holiday to lasts years I can say we are a little disappointed; * The pool is far too small to accommodate the amount of guests. It's not yet the English school holidays and yet this place is rammed. There are a lot of Scandinavian and Scottish families as their schools have already broken up. The two big-ish pools and baby pool are for all hotel guests plus the apartment guests and the guests staying at Playa Feliz. I can't imagine what it would be like once the English schools finish! I know a family life hotel is going to be filled with the noise of children playing, but the noise here is just constant and relentless due to the amount of people in a small space. * Due to amount of guests trying to use all the pools, sunbeds are quickly taken up and families and groups put them in such long rows and cram them together so tightly that it's an assault course to get through. It seems common practise here to get up at the crack of dawn & 'reserve' sunbeds with towels, despite the signs at the pool stating this is not acceptable. I refuse to get up at 0630 whilst on holiday to fight for a bed. That said, most days we've found a space to put out enough beds for us, but they are further away from the pool. My biggest complaint is actually that there are not enough umbrellas. The ratio of umbrellas to beds is maybe 1:15 so good luck finding an umbrella that's not being used past 0700. Not ideal when you've got small children who need the shade (I'm also 6 months pregnant so not ideal for me either). * There is no beach at this resort at all. One of our criteria whilst I spent hours in the Thompson shop searching for a holiday was a sandy beach. The photo's for this resort are misleading. It looks as though there is a small sandy area by the sea, but this is a man made area with a few sunbeds that are charged for. The sand is mostly gritty and despite being called a beach, it really isn't. There are good points about this resort however; * The food is really good. Massive variety and fresh salads and fruit. The pool bar has a good range of snacks too. The restaurant staff are excellent at clearing away used plates, mopping up spillages and keeping the food serving areas very clean. * The hotel & surrounding area as a whole is kept very clean. With the amount of people staying here it can get very messy & dirty very quickly but staff are constantly cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and chucking away rubbish - they really are on the ball. Quite a few guests seem to think it's acceptable to leave their rubbish lying about despite there being plenty of bins around the pool. This isn't the hotels fault of course, it's just people being scummy. *The rooms are clean and well maintained. Maid service was a bit random for us and at one point we were given more & more clean towels without the dirty ones being taken away so at one point we had 10 towels in our room!! We managed to hand some back to the maid when we saw her. Tea, coffee and milk is not replenished but if you ask for some the maid will give you a few handfuls. We got the room we expected and the sofa bed was perfect for our 3 year old. We got a pool view and a sea view. Our room was above the entertainment but in the evening it was quite nice to sit on the balcony and listen to it and inside the room it didn't disturb us at all as the balcony glass is quite thick. *The kids evening entertainment is very good. The young lads and girls work very hard & the kids love it. The dancefloor area for this is quite small though - again it's not quite big enough to accommodate the large number of guests. So it's a bit of a squash for the kids, but they don't seem to mind. *All of the staff we encountered have been friendly and helpful and have a smile on their face. So overall the thing that lets this place down is it is too busy and the facilities aren't big enough for the amount of guests. The Rhodes hotel we stayed last year was less crowded (although we went in May) and just a touch more civilised and classier. It was a little more expensive than this place but you get what you pay for. I wouldn't come back here again as I feel there are better Thompson hotels out there. More
Worst family holiday!! Stay away!!
We stayed here with my wife and 3 children the room is not suitable for a family of this size at all - very cramped. On arrival at 2pm in the afternoon we didnt get a glass of cava as people have been mentioning in fact our room wasnt ready for another hour after travelling for 12 hours with 3 children isnt on. The reception staff are beyond rude! You have to pay for TV for the room! Pay for pool!! Its not all inclusive at all you have to pay for 50% of alcholic drinks. The beer is dreadful and all drinks are definitely watered down. Food is ok very repetitive. The pizzas were amazing though and freshly cooked. Baby club reps were the best reps by far really friendly and on the ball. This place is killed by how busy it is and if you aint up at 7am for a sunbed you wont get one and thats the day ruined because there is nothing around to do. Weather is ok was cloudy a few days we we there. Aqua land is average not worth the money. The chinese outside the resort is amazing too really good food and great service. They didnt even tell us where things were and what we could do there its like they are too busy to cater for everyone so we felt like we were dumped and was on our own to find things out by other guests. You have to pay to play tennis but isnt this an all inclusive holiday no?? I will not be coming back again and I will Not be booking with thompson again as they assured me there was plenty to do and the room was big enough. More

Full family jolly.
Hi all. We've just returned from eleven nights (granddad, nana, mum dad, auntie, uncle and grandkids) and we must say we've had a wonderful time. We arrived to a typical Thomson booking error with the rooms (no family suite which we'd made a point of paying extra for) so check in took a couple of hours to sort out which kind of spoilt the initial checking in as my daughter had to be quite firm with the reception staff who suggested that the two little ones of seven and nine could share a room on their own! All forgotten by tea time. Although we never got our family suite the Thomson rep did supply my daughter with compensation the next day. She worked really hard and we thank her for that. Rooms in this hotel are excellent. Very clean, very spacious, very comfy beds, great shower and on the floor we were in we also received excellent maid service. The only thing we had to grumble about was that we were directly above the entertainment club (room 409) and it was very, very noisy. Too noisy to sit on the balcony until after eleven at night. To be very clear to all who are considering this hotel for a holiday, this is a very busy and manic place. It is what it is. Full of families and nearly all with small children in tow. Very noisy all the time and nowhere to get away from that. Having said that we all loved the attention that all the children received. All the reps work incredibly hard under a lot of pressure and there is a full programme of activities with something going on somewhere all of the time. The pools are excellent and the lifeguards are very switched on and attentive to the masses of children and adults which fill them every day. They were a credit to the hotel. All guests get a choice of well prepared, varied, hot food in the restaurant which we all thought was of a very high standard and a lot better than many other all inclusive hotels that we have been to. The pool snack bar is ok and the drinks are also ok too. We did go to the Tapas restaurant one night which is part of the package and it was excellent which included as well as the Tapas, cheese board to start, a very well cooked steak, desert and drinks with great service. You do have to book this in advance at reception. One of the highlights was a trip on the Pirate ship which set sail from Porto Rico. It was full of fun and we all enjoyed it very much, A great day out. Would we visit here again? Yes with the family but not on our own. WE LOVED IT!!!More
