A week that I never wanted to end
Just returned from a weeks stay with my partner The only negative is that the hotel is slightly isolated (about 10 /15min via cab) to go anywhere but because I was looking for a relaxing holiday this wasn't an issue Positives *absolutely beautiful hotel, very modern, clean and huge *rooms where very spacious and cleaned daily to a good standard. The bed was super comfy *food at the buffet restaurant was delicious, great variety and plentiful (yes drinks at dinner were on the pricey side €4 for a small coke but we new this in advance so wasn't an issue) *loads of sun beds to choose from which was a bonus, even at 11am there was still a gd choice *the beach was beautiful :) a few nudists but not that many lol Would deffo recommend and will be returningMore

If you enjoy sunbathing with the sound of hammering and drilling going on next to you then this is the hotel for you
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the bellhop who took my luggage and a member of staff who sat us down to check in. We were given a complementary glass of prosecco and the check in process was extremely easy. Everything was explained thoroughly and were also received a map of the hotel as it is quite big. We were told because we arrived late we'd have food served until 23:30. I was excepting maybe a cold buffet/bread. What I received was a plate with warm salad topped with warm prawn and crab bits, a weird lump of what looked like lentils of some sort and a piece of bread. The only thing concealing this was a piece of cling film. That may sound appetising but it was entirely the opposite. It's not something that I would normally eat. I'm grateful to have had something waiting for me, but for the price they ask to stay at this hotel I expected at least some nice bread and especially not a warm salad. We decided to order room service when we got back to the room as we hadn't eaten for around 8 hours and that was not in the slightest filling. We got back to the room to find no room service was offered. Let's just say it was a loooong night. The first morning we opened the curtains and a light switch fell off the wall. Pictures below. Our first day, we were woken up at 7:30 by repetitive hammering coming from above us. We called reception to see what was going on. They said "we'll sort it." This carried on every day of our stay. You kind of get used to it after a while which isn't something you expect from a 5* hotel. A rep called us as well and asked if everything was alright and she wasn't aware of this problem and said she'd also try to sort it out. We went onto our balcony which was a joint balcony with whoever was staying next door. Pictures below of the scrap heap which was our view for the week. The room on the other hand was amazing. Huge room, huge bed, stunning bathroom. Always cleaned thoroughly. No complaints. Which is what I kind of expected for a Sensimar hotel. Breakfast every morning was a buffet which included a full cooked breakfast. No complaints really. Sausages are hotdog sausages though. If you enjoy sunbathing with the sound of hammering and drilling going on next to you then this is the hotel for you! So annoying when you're trying to relax and all you hear is thudding over and over. No problem with finding a lounger every day, there are plenty of them! Probably because the people who were sitting on them got sick or the hammering and went back to their rooms to scream into a pillow. The pool on the other hand was amazing. Although it was extremely cold, it was lovely to cool down after sitting in the sun for hours. The evening food was okay but everything just seemed so bland. I stuck with salad and bread mostly. Sometimes if the meat was nice I would have some of that too. Most things are labelled on the top of the hot plate and also says what it contains which is great. On our last day we were woken up by banging again, surprise surprise. Also we had a power cut. Brilliant. We had to wait nearly an hour for the power to come back on. This was at 10:40 and we had to be checking out at 12. All in all, a nice hotel, a nice stay, totally not worth the £1,800 we paid to stay here and we probably won't return again. More
We have just returned from a lovely relaxing time at this hotel. The hotel is huge and beautifully clean. The rooms are large and exceptionally clean. The food is to die for. Thier s something for everyone at breakfast and evening meal. The piazza restaurant food was lovely but they should have a bigger choice of sandwich and toasties. Sun beds were available at any time of the day which is probably unique for most hotels. The pools were very cold. The top and bigger pool was freezing and could not stay in the pool longer than 5min. The lower pool was heated slightly, but again not enough. These pools should be heated in my opinion. The views are gorgeous. The entertainment was very low key, I think they could do better and Fly in some English acts. The Dolcia vita bar and entertainment area is Really warm and not well air conditioned. The reception bar is lovely and quiet and the bar man is lovely. The staff in the hotel are so lovely and helpful, they can't do enough to help. That is from the maintenance staff and porters to the management. I loved third hotel and would go back for a week but it is to quiet for two weeks. This hotel would be ideal for an all inclusive hotel because it s so far away from anywhere. To get a taxi into Jandia will cost €13 each way. The drinks are normal hotel prices so seem pricey, but they are not single they are at least doubles if not trebles.More
This hotel is absolutely stunning, I stayed for 1 week with my daughter and it was I the perfect location for a relaxing holiday. The rooms are spacious and ours had a terrace with a sea view, the rooms all have sun loungers outside to make extra comfort if you don't want to leave the room. The transfer is about an hour and half but it's worth it when you get there. Stunning beach and views from the hotel. We upgraded to half board which was definitely worth it, there are no other places to eat unless you go in to jandia which is 10 Euro in a taxi. The food was always different every evening and the breakfast was great with too much to choose from. The supermarket is a 30 minute walk if you want to get water etc, we got 8 litres for 2 Euro. They had entertainment every night but we didn't go to any and the spa pool, gym and jacuzzi are free to use. If you want a relaxing holiday with great views of the sea and beautiful beaches this is the place. More
Amazing relaxed break!
My partner and I have just returned from a week at the Royal Palm Resort and Spa. It was by far the best sun holiday we have had. Perfect for a week of relaxation! The hotel is huge and absolutely beautiful, the room we stayed in was huge with the most incredible balcony. Wifi works throughout the building and the maids came daily to change the bath towels and make the bed. The robes and slippers in the rooms were a nice touch also. The food was great at both breakfast and dinner! An option for everyone, meat lovers, fish lovers, plenty of salads, vegetables pastas, fruits and puddings both looked and tasted fantastic. There are three pools, all beautifully maintained. Quieter at the bottom pool if you want to totally relax, a little more lively at the top pool with some water aerobics/ water polo and quiet music playing. There is a restaurant you can get lunch on the grounds, however we walked into Jandia most days to get out of the hotel and explore which we would recommend! The price of Pizzas/ Pasta in town is also considerably cheaper than the hotel. There is not much of evening entertainment at the hotel, but lots of beautiful places to sit outside and have a drink. Or alternatively head down to town for the evening, unfortunately Jandia isn't accessible after dark as there are two routes, the beach and the road. Neither lit at night times. But we didn't find ourselves bored once throughout the holiday. The weather was mostly beautiful with two overcast days, so we decided to climb the mountain behind the hotel. I recommend doing this if you are physically able too. The views were out of this world and there are also plenty of friendly chipmunks at the top of the mountain which are quiet entertaining to watch. Trainers are definitely recommended to climb though, the decent down is very steep and slippery so good footwear is a must! The staff in the hotel were all very pleasant, some members of staff don't speak great English but they will do their best to accommodate or will ask someone who does to help you. Check in and check out was simple. Overall the hotel is beautiful, the staff are helpful and friendly. There is not much entertainment but if you are content to occupy yourselves in the evenings then this is the perfect relaxing break. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel to couples. Several tips: Go to the supermarket and buy water bottles. £3.50 for a small bottle at lunch, whereas you can get x6 1.5 litre bottles for something like 2 Euros. Venture to town for some lunch times, prices for meals in town are much cheaper than the hotel and portion sizes are considerably bigger. Request a sea view room. We had booked a limited sea view room, which was fantastic and faced out of the side of the hotel. But some of the rooms looked right over the sea and had fantastic balconies with sun loungers. Overall a fantastic holiday!More
