Catch a bus to pretty Pajara with its ornate 17th century church or Betancuria, the former capital. Or for sightseeing of a showier kind, go and see the wreck of a commercial American ship in a tiny bay on the west coast – its rusting hulk a heart-lurching contrast to the beauty around it.
