Barcelo Thalasso Spa Centre*

You'll find the spa 200 metres away from the hotel offering a range of beauty treatments. You can choose from a variety of massages, body wraps, facials, manicures and pedicures. Plus there's a whirlpool bath, sauna, Turkish bath and indoor and outdoor pools with hydro-massage jets. If you're staying at the hotel you'll receive a discount on treatments.

This large pool comes dotted with palm trees, plenty of sunbeds and a roomy sun terrace. It's also heated in the winter.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll be able to check the menu and see what tasty dishes will be on offer, as well as the ingredients used, up to 3 days in advance on the computer based menu planner. Superior rooms come in neurtal tones and wooden flooring. The extras are what make these rooms stand out with a raindance shower, 32-inch plasma TV, Wi-Fi connection, internet, a minibar*, bathrobes and slippers. Adults receive unlimited access to the Thalasso Spa too. For a good night's sleep you even have a pillow menu to choose from. They sleep up to four, with a king-size or two twin beds and cots are available on request. Plus outside, you have a furnished balcony or terrace.

A lovely holiday

My wife & I have just returned from a 1 week holiday to the Barcello Thalasso Spa in Fuerteventura. We had a lovely week. Great room on 2nd floor with partial beach, harbour & Sea View. Hotel very large, caters for families and couples. Good selection of food & drink especially if you go all inclusive ! Staff very pleasant & friendly in all areas especially the reception & bar area. Nice snack area for all inclusive by the pool bar. Animation team put on some great shows in the evening such as Cats & We will rock you both of which were really good. Well done ! Great location as the rear of the hotel gives easy access to the beach & promade. Both make an excellent change of view and some exercise after food and drink. Hotel is disabled friendly & child friendly. A big thank you for a very relaxing & enjoyable holiday. Looking forward to visiting again. More

First Class Hotel, a really positive experience.

We thought we'd move from Lanzarote this January and spend a week in Fuerteventura. We chose this hotel and apart from the room allocation (there's a shock!!), we had little to pass any negative comments on. What I won't be doing is passing comments about other people's reviews or opinions as they're perfectly entitled to their say, even if they're wrong....LOL. From 14th January to 21st incl. my wife and I spent a week's all inclusive at this hotel. We took a taxi from the airport and arrived around 12 to 15 minutes later. It looked very nice and we went up to reception. We arrived around 12.30 hours, and booked in without any problem. Our room wasn't ready yet, which was no big deal. We were given our wristbands (Hmmm, not great!) and advised to get a drink from the bar and then go for lunch. We duly did so and were blown away by the choice and the sheer quality of the food on show. We had read that some of the food was not up to scratch so we were a tad concerned: no need! It was brilliant and continued to achieve extremely high standards throughout the week. The waiting staff were superb and you rarely waited no more than a minute or two until they approached you courteous and smiling to serve you the drinks of your choice. We had asked for a ground floor room with a sunny outlook as I have a disability which leaves me unable to climb stairs very well or walk too far. We also requested sun beds where we could lie and read and were prepared to pay for the privilege. We learned that this was included in our package and were very pleased with this. We were allocated room 2034. (ground floor in block two, room 34) We arrived at our room which had very evidently been recently decorated. It was a large room, clean with two large beds and two sunbeds with a table outside on the porch area. However, there was no sun as it was a corner room and the sun didn't get to this room in the afternoon. ( This was around 2pm). But the worst aspect for us was the complete lack of privacy. The sunbeds were about 8 to 10 feet away from the common corridor and next to a stairway where everyone walked to gain access to their rooms! Absolutely awful! We went to reception and explained what the position was and asked if they could help us out. A young manager listened sympathetically to us and then went to see what he could do. He invited us to look at another room (room 2014) which had a very small balcony area, with only two chairs and again very little sun and was, to be quite frank, very, very grubby and in dire need of some due care and attention. My wife just said we'd take this room and although I was going to refuse, she didn't want any more hassle and we unpacked rather reluctantly I have to say. THIS is the reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5. I know we don't have any right to special treatment, but we did book months and months beforehand so I was disappointed. EVERY hotel we've visited apart from the excellent Hotel Costa Calero in Lanzarote has allocated us a very poorly located room and this is beginning to become very, very tedious. We spoke to a couple who have been to this hotel on about 13 or 14 occasions and they told us the hotel "keep their room" for them whenever they require! So it DOES go on, we all know it does so why do the hotels deny this!? Anyhow, we stayed put and that's the negative points done and dusted! It appears that the only way to guarantee a good room is to keep coming back to the same hotel time after thanks! Okay, we've mentioned the food, but here's a more in depth review for prospective customers. The dining area is well laid out, with beautifully cooked meat on offer every night. I had the steak twice in the week we were there: cooked to perfection and just to die for! We also had on two occasions roast turkey which was succulent and moist: superb! There was also fresh fish which was excellent also. Oh and where would us Brits be without our chips! Yes, the ubiquitous chip was on show every lunchtime and evening! To be honest, the chips were absolutely brilliant and REAL!! Really excellent old fashioned "home-made" chips: the best we've had on holiday! Definitely something for everyone, without a doubt. The snack bar/poolside bar was fab as well. Some nice food for the AI brigade with a great toastie machine which produced toasties in under a minute! The self service beer, juice and coffee tea etc., is a great idea. Saved on time and should be in every AI hotel in my humble opinion. OH! Another thing: the sausages were magic! Really, really good quality bangers which we thoroughly enjoyed on a couple of occasions in a hot dog roll!! The all inclusive drinks list is excellent. I even had a glass of wine (not keen on the stuff, sorry!!), of the white variety and it was lovely. The cocktails were tasty and very moreish! My wife's favourites were the Tequila Sunrise and the Pina Coladas! There were about 5 or so cocktails to choose from and if you wanted other cocktails from the bar menu, they were half price for all inclusive guests, 3 euros, not bad at all. The beer was the excellent "Tropical" which was wonderful, cold and just the job! Now, the thing that really added to our all round enjoyment was the absolutely incomparable bar staff. Totally motivated, skillful and entertaining. NOTHING was too much trouble and the boys in the bar were beyond reproach. I know most of the Spanish workers in hotels and bars are hard working, but these guys have to be seen to be believed. We NEVER waited any longer than two minutes for our drinks to be replenished and it was busy every night for the evening shows. Which takes us nicely onto the next component part of our week. The entertainment (or animation) staff. They mostly mimed at such shows as the Lion King, We will rock you etc., apart from one young man who sang before some of the shows started and he was good, very good! OK miming apart, they worked very hard to entertain and were good value and fun! The pool area looked good, however the weather wasn't too kind. There looked to be plenty of sunbeds available both near the pool and also away from the main poolside. Ideal for people who just wanted to lie in the sun and chill. The beach was behind the hotel, easily accessible by two back doors. The aforementioned was absolutely beautiful! Clean and with lots of room for all and sundry. The walk to the harbour area was lovely, with some nice restaurants and bars to enjoy food and a drink if you so wish. These are apparently new and are most definitely a nice addition. Everyone we spoke to loved this place. In the month of January, this was relatively quiet. Would we return? Yes we would, if only for the entertainment value from the bar staff AND the quite excellent dining room staff. If only there could be some way of reserving decent rooms: even if it costs a little more money. But if you've made a booking months in advance, the hotel really should try to accommodate you and if they can't why not let the customers know and they could book elsewhere. Maybe we're just unlucky?! More interesting talking points I feel! So well done Barceló, great hotel, wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable staff, brilliant all inclusive package and it could get even better. This could have been the hotel with everything on our ticklist had we been given a decent room. Kind Regards.More

Christmas stay with hubby and 11year old daughter... food was really good excellent range to cater for everyone we were very impressed ..!! clean rooms , great hotel.. my only gripe was the pool was too cold to even dip a toe in.. but I think in summer it wouldn't be an issue.. Would I stay again.. ??Yes if I ever return...More

Lovely hotel

Spent a week here with the wife and the hotel was spotlessly clean. We stayed all inclusive and the food was always very nice. The food was always being refreshed by the chefs so it wasn't sitting under hot lamps for ages and was always hot. Good variety of meals available which was good as I'm a really fussy eater and I never had a problem finding anything to eat each day. We stayed in block 3 which was a little bit of a walk to reception, bar and restaurants but that was no problem as the block was nice and quiet. Stayed in a superior room which was really big and comfortable. I have two small issues with the stay:- 1. I paid for the premium wifi and it was really slow, about 0.5 to 1 Mbps. My advice is don't pay the extra €25 for the service. 2. I don't think the bed sheets were changed at all during the week despite the literature saying they would be. Went on an organised Thomson trip around the island and it was a brilliant day. The guide was very informative and kept her commentary going all day. Would I go back to the hotel? Most certainly I would as it was a lovely place to stay and relax.More

Honest opinion

Hotel ok booked superior room, what's superior? Wooden laminate floors? Food ok but Luke warm, spa ok been to better, staff need new jobs in restaurant as they don't like their current one. Don't bother paying for cocktas in the bar, tried several all very very poor. Evening entertainment is good. More
