The adults-only Barcelo Corralejo Bay is nestled in the heart of Corralejo. You’ve got shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep, and a sandy beach just a couple of minutes’ walk away. Better still, the hotel is surrounded by waxy palms and tropical shrubs, which give things a peaceful, private feel.
The greenery continues out by the swimming pools. There are two of them, and they’re shaded by glossy vines that line up along the water’s edge. Sunbeds and parasols dot the surrounding terrace, and there’s a bar out here, that’s well-stocked with drinks and snacks.
Elsewhere, you’ve got a tranquil spa that’s perfect for unwinding. Among the facilities on offer are a string of showers with different aromas, colours and music, a toning pool and a bubbling hot tub. Plus, you can enjoy treatments like a full body massage.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and 10-15 mins. to town. We had a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the pool which was very nice. Every where was very clean and the staff very friendly. Some people did leave towels on sunbeds but we always managed to get a couple so it wasn't really a problem, The food could be improved upon and was not always hot but there was always plenty of choice. We went into the town most nights to the music square where they have entertainment every night and a good atmosphere. We will return.More

The hotel is located on a quiet side street but only 2 to 3 minutes stroll from all amenities the rooms are well appointed with the facility to make a cup of tea or coffee and plenty of room to hang your clothes. The room we were in was looking a little tired and could do with being decorated however it was clean and had a great view. I am a finicky eater but had no problem finding something satisfying to eat. The pool area is roped off until 9am while it is being cleaned this is also an attempt to stop people reserving beds with towels not always successful. overall a very good hotel and will be going back in the near futureMore
Great hotel with a lot of comfort and service
The hotel is situated in a quiet area three minuts walk from the main street where you could find shops and a lot of restaurants. The pool area offers a lot of relaxation with both sun and shade. A great plus that no one under the age of 18 are welcome. A lot of activities are also offered like yoga, aerobics, evening entertainment. There is also a gym and a spa. Service is great and the rooms very comfortable. Great breakfast buffet with everything you could ever desire, eaven champagne. One downfall was the 30 minutes free WiFi in the lobby. The WiFi speed was a joke. Since most people today have smartphones it is required that such an hotel can offer free Wifi 24 hours a day to all guests. The other downfall was the prices in the spa. Not a lot of activity there. You could have treatments for half the price at other salons on the main street instead.More

Cynical treatment on overbooking
I only write reviews when encountering exceptional service, usually good - unfortunately not the case here. Book this hotel if you are feeling lucky, and don't mind the very real chance of being relocated to less expensive hotels in other resorts - no apology for ruining your holiday, and no attempt to sweeten the pill offered. Alternatively, pay less and avoid the middleman by booking directly with the other hotels. Clearly, this has happened to others as well. Imagine our dismay to receive a call on our way to Gatwick airport to be advised that due to overbooking the only available option was to be relocated to a sister Barcelo hotel in the less expensive resort of Castillo that evening. We have no issue with the Barcelo Fuerteventura if what you want is a family hotel there - and would even recommend it - but what we had decided on was an adults only hotel in Corralejo two months earlier. We initially rejected the relocation and asked them to find a suitable alternative in Corralejo, but they insisted there was no alternative and given that we needed somewhere to stay on arrival Monday evening we felt we had little option other than to take it. You might think that under the circumstances the Corralejo Bay would go out of their way to make up for a problem of their own making, recognising that the hotel they were resiting you to was approximately 25% less expensive due to the resort. But none of it. I called them both on arrival on Monday evening - too late - then on Tuesday morning asking for compensation, and only then did they agree to relocate us to the adults only section of the Atlantis in Corralejo, still less expensive than the Corralejo Bay but very good nevertheless, but only from Wednesday. Net effect was 2 nights, several phone calls, staying in less expensive hotels and having to transfer resorts taken out of our week's holiday. I asked the manager at the Fuerteventura whether it was Barcelo policy to treat guests this way when overbooking. They said it was their practice to spot overbooking days earlier to give the guests the chance to rebook elsewhere, but always with the offer of rebooking to one of the other Barcelo hotels in Castillo with extras thrown in to compensate for their problem. Since returning a week ago, I have written to Barcelo head office with my complaint, and now with a claim for compensation, to date with no response. Hitherto,we have stayed in Barcelo hotels without incident or complaint over the years, but this experience has left us with a very bitter taste in our mouths and it is most unlikely that any of our extended family or friends will book with this hotel, or any Barcelo hotel for that matter in future. I can accept overbooking as a business need for hotels, but not the shoddy and cynical practice displayed by the Corralejo Bay who clearly see overbooking as an opportunity to profit and show little regard or consideration for guests.More

Arrived late evening, were disappointed that after many visits we were not recognised as repeat visitors. We were shown to our room which was over looking the road even though we had requested a pool view. We spoke to the reception immediately and told to ask again next morning if we could be moved. The next afternoon we were moved to a room over looking other peoples jacuzies which was an improvement. The rooms are now tired but the beds were good. They are in need of updating. The towels in the room were threadbare. The kettle is an improvement but coffee and milk etc. were not topped up daily. It seems that a lot of money has been spent on the wellness areas, but other areas forgotten about. The food is still good but there is not the same choice as in the past. Seems to be a shortage of staff in the restaurant as the waiting staff were rushed off their feet. If the entertainment is going to be in the piano bar then more seating needs to be provided. On the plus side, the entertainment girls were enthusiastic and friendly, as were majority of the staff.More
