The Barcelo Corralejo Bay is an adults-only retreat with a great spa and a pair of pools. It's in a fantastic location, too - the bars and restaurants in the town centre are within arm's reach, and the sandy beach is a few minutes' stroll away.
The adults-only Barcelo Corralejo Bay is nestled in the heart of Corralejo. You’ve got shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep, and a sandy beach just a couple of minutes’ walk away. Better still, the hotel is surrounded by waxy palms and tropical shrubs, which give things a peaceful, private feel.
The greenery continues out by the swimming pools. There are two of them, and they’re shaded by glossy vines that line up along the water’s edge. Sunbeds and parasols dot the surrounding terrace, and there’s a bar out here, that’s well-stocked with drinks and snacks.
Elsewhere, you’ve got a tranquil spa that’s perfect for unwinding. Among the facilities on offer are a string of showers with different aromas, colours and music, a toning pool and a bubbling hot tub. Plus, you can enjoy treatments like a full body massage.

In our opinion many improvements in the last few years
Just spent a week with my wife at the Barcelo Corralejo Bay and this was actually our third visit. The hotel location is excellent being just minutes from a local beach and also just minutes from the local strip of bars and shops. Also a free shuttle bus is available to the incredible area of sand dunes that are not that far away. Our main complaint for this hotel which you will see in a previous review that I submitted was always the atrocious food quality. At long last however this would appear to have been sorted out and the food provided is, in my opinion, now of the quality that I would expect in this grade of hotel. The evening entertainment was generally also a great improvement on our previous visits with a three man soul group giving a particularly excellent show plus a husband and wife duo on another night providing a great range of international music. Having said that they also had probably the worst Flamenco act that I have ever seen and I have seen many over the years. It mainly consisted of one man sitting wailing in to a mike, another one sitting playing a guitar and one lady, after having taped a mike to a piece of hardboard to accentuate the noise, stamping around madly far a couple of minutes every so often. Apparently it was very high brow and authentic. Sorry but it was not the least bit entertaining to us. Not much point in commenting on the availability of sun beds which was wonderful but then as it rained a lot that was somewhat unsurprising. Staff generally were very good in all areas. It was a bit unfortunate however that every day but one our room was not serviced until about 3.30pm. Not a problem in the normally good weather but as we were forced to actually use the room more than usual it was a bit of a nuisance. It was also a noted improvement that there are now more British TV stations available albeit reception later in the day did become somewhat intermittent. This may, of course, also have been caused by the atrocious weather conditions. WiFi is available and free but the service is pretty appalling. You are supposed to get about 20 minutes free and then also be able to reconnect fairly quickly for another period. However the connection speed is so bad that you need the 20 minutes just to look at a couple of simple e-mails. There is a spa and gym also available for those into that sort of thing and have the money to spend. All in all this is now a very good hotel and I would recommend it. Unfortunately for our week the rain and wind was quite unbelievable but I doubt that the hotel could control too much of that 8-)More

Going back soon !!
Booked hotel directly with Barceló which was useful as this allowed me to 'check in' online using their website prior to arrival. As a result we were physically booked in at the hotel within a couple of minutes. Initial impressions of hotel and staff were very good. Reception area incorporates the bar, an Internet station, a shop and the information centre and booking facility for trips etc. Reception area is large, but very clean and impressive. Our room wasn't ready so myself and my wife went across to the restaurant adjacent to the pool and had some lunch. Food there was good and reasonably priced. Staff there were friendly too. Went back to collect our room keycards an hour later and as promised room was ready. Receptionist took time to explain hotel layout and timings for breakfast and gym etc. Very polite and professional service. One thing which I do find irritating is being charged for the use of a room safe. Granted it was only â¬3 per day but on a 2 week stay this adds another â¬42 (£34 GBP) onto the cost of the holiday. I think these charges should be removed totally when you take into account the cost of the room wasn't cheap (even with the 10% room discount Barceló gave me). Entered room and was exactly what was expected for this type of hotel. Decent size and well presented and spotlessly clean. 2 problems were identified with the room early on day 2 of our stay. The hair dryer didn't work and the shower was coming off the wall and leaked everywhere when it was turned on. This was reported to receptionist and, to their credit, both issues were resolved within the hour. Makes you wonder if previous occupants didn't care about these problems or caused them !! Maybe a quick check by the house keepers when re-making the rooms on a changeover would prevent this ? First night we slept really well and the beds are some of the most comfortable we have experienced in any hotel anywhere. Having been to the Canaries before we knew it was likely to be windy. The pool area is largely protected from the wind as it's below the street level but some wind does get through on the windier days. The bedrooms however are at a height where wind can cause issues. On our Third night we hardly slept because the wind whistled through the sliding doors all night. The doors were properly closed but they didn't seal. This was resolved by leaning the (quite heavy) room table against the doors to push them against the seal in the frame (Room 3109). I reported this to reception but not as a complaint because I had temporarily resolved the issue and they said they would get it looked at. Every member of staff were friendly and polite. House keepers were always pleasant and offered you a 'Ola, Buenos Dia' every time you passed them in the corridors. The grounds are generally immaculate and well kept but, as with a lot of large hotels, the pool area could have benefitted from some minor maintenance especially to the floor tiles, some of which were broken or cracked. (Very minor, I know !!) Bar prices are reasonable and the bar staff were also very friendly, polite and attentive. The 'Baileys' is well worth the â¬4 price for its size ! Bulldog gin however nice it is, is not such good value at â¬9. The gym is well equipped and everything in there was clean and worked as it should have. WiFi is offered free throughout the hotel and in my case was somewhat unreliable and I was subjected to lots of drop outs, it seemed to work slightly better in the foyer/bar area but even there I had connection difficulties on occasion. The hotel is 'adults only' and this suited us. Some people have reviewed it and said "it's too quiet". I couldn't disagree more. It's positively heavenly. And If people want piped music at the pool (as stated in some reviews) just put your own music on with headphones. Breakfast was excellent and the choice of food and drinks was huge. Everyone should find something to their liking there. There are plenty of choices of different types of Teas and Coffees. Managed to catch some of the evening entertainment which included a Jazz night, Motown night and a female group (like the Supremes) which was very good. There was entertainment every night but we didn't see some of it so unable to comment on it. What we did see was very good though. Be aware that most, if not all of the rooms with a pool view seem to face inwards, and may be subjected to some noise (not loud) from the entertainment evenings. This noise is generally finished by 23:00 hrs and did not bother us. If you're a light sleeper you may want to take some earplugs ?? The hotel is on a compact site and everything is easily accessible. There are elevators and ramps so people with limited mobility will have no problems getting around the hotel and its grounds. The hotels location was perfect for us. It's only a 2 minute walk to the Main Street which takes you down into the centre approximately 10 minutes away. If you want something even closer there is an Indian (Jaipur is worth a visit. Wait till the guy at the end of the road gives you a 10% discount slip) an Italian and a handful of small bars literally a minutes' walk away from the hotel. The beach is also only a 2-3 minute walk away from the hotel where you can access the main road into the centre from any number of side streets. Or stay on the beach to access pubs and restaurants (if it's not too windy !). It's very rare that I use the same hotel more than once as I like to try different ones but I would definitely use the Barceló Corralejo Bay again. The good points far outweigh the odd niggle which I have mentioned in this review. The entertainment, beds, location, general cleanliness, friendly staff, food and its 'Adults Only' basis all make this hotel somewhere which I would recommend to family, friends and Trip Advisor users. In fact I am already looking to go back for a week next May or June (2015).More

Nice hotel with perfect location in Corralejo
Amazing service here at Barcelo Corralejo Bay. The hotel has a great location in Corralejo as you can walk to any location, and the hotel is just few meters from the beach. Staff is helpful and friendly and the food is nice. We walked one hour from the hotel to the top of the volcano Bayuyo. This trip is easy and pays well for the effort.More
I have just returned from the above hotel, and found it to be a beautiful hotel. It's quite central for a walk if you want the buzz of the shops and it's a very short walk to the golden sandy beach and harbour. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, lovely big comfortable beds. The food was good tho sometime the veg was a bit on the cool side for evening meals. Entertainment each evening and also guided walks and painting were just some of the things on offer if you wished to partake. Everyone of the staff we had contact with were very nice and friendly, it's an adult only hotel and was nice and quite which was good .More
