Have just returned from a weeks break from Salou in Spain staying at the Salauris Palace on a full board option. The hotel is set back from the main town, but only a 10 to 15 minute stroll to the main town and beach. we had a lovely stay with a room on the top floor with a great view of the theme park which is only a 5 minute walk away. reading some other reviews some people had complaints with the service of food, but we found no problems while we were there. there was always plenty on other and when you consider they after cater for a wide variety of nationals then they did a very good job. We found the staff helpful and the bar prices were reasonable. all in all not a bad hotel, could do with a little TLC in places but given the hotel caters for hundreds of people week in week out we can only say we enjoyed are stay and would return if we came back for another break.More

Myself, partner and 9 month old baby stayed here in September for 7 nights. We arrived at the hotel around 9:40 in the evening and was asked if we wished to have a hot dinner but would have to go straight to restaurant due to food being stopped at 10pm, we opted out of this but was giving a cold dinner later around 11:30 that they had provided for us, it was pretty much fruit and salad with cake for dessert. Our room 362 was a family room even though we had just booked a standard double which had more beds in it and more spacious, it was very clean and modern too. We were provided with a travel cot already set up in the room which was our initial concern before arriving but it was all ready for us which certainly relieved some stress. Our balcony was front facing but you weren't disturbed at night at all, we had a great view of portaventura park and could see the firework display at night. Breakfast you had a varied selection from cereals, toast, fruit,
Pastries, champagne and the chef made fresh pancakes and omelettes. Dinner was also varied, you could have steaks, chicken, fish, salads, pasta and the desserts were to die for. You had an amazing pick n mix section and a variety of toppings for ice cream. I would certainly recommend trying the chocolate brownie. The staff were always helpful and friendly and you always felt safe. The entertainment at night could be a hit or a miss, we seen a few acts that were good. The pool area was nice and well kept and always plenty sun beds and space to get some sun. There is also seating outside that is shaded if you prefer that. We tried the hot tub on the 6th floor which was very peaceful and the views were lovely, it was a very relaxing area. The spa was quite small and you had to wear a hair net in the indoor pool which was quite strange. Inside the hotel there was wifi in certain areas and a games room, little shop for papers etc and plenty of seating. I didn't see much for kids but with it being close to main salou you didn't have to stay in hotel. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to nearest shops and beach, there are restaurants, supermarkets, crazy golf, cash machines all on the way down. There is a place called jacks which is a lovely restaurant run by British and they do amazing food for reasonable prices, I would highly recommend trying here, my partner had a combo of foods and myself chicken and it was that good we went back and tried breakfast and lunch here. Salou had a lovely beach but some of the shops were a bit repetitive, there was some boutique places that did more trendier clothes if you were looking to pay more. We took a tour on the shuttle train which you see travelling around, we took it through to cap salou and back but it did become quite bumpy in areas, but certainly worth doing for few euro. Overall to sum it up I would say this hotel is 3-4 stars, it was certainly one of the nicest to look at and inside didn't disappoint.More

We stayed at the Salauris Palace 7 nights. The staff are all so lovely and work very hard to make your stay wonderful and they always have a smile. There is always a big selection of food at breakfast and evening meal to suit different nationalities, so nice to try something you have not eaten before. We have cocktail every night because it is cheaper than outside bar, the facilities are very enjoyable, location is ideal to Barcelona by train, lots shops and restaurant nearby, will definitely go back holiday again.More
