Hotel H10 Salauris Palace

The Hotel H10 Salauris Palace is a real winner on the location front – it’s close to the beach, PortAventura theme park, and the town centre.

When it comes to locale, the H10 Salauris Palace is heard to beat. Llevant Beach is less than a 15-minute walk away and PortAventura Park is just up the road.

The pool hogs the limelight at this hotel, with the huge sun terrace and buffet restaurant following closely on its heels.

Not a nice experience!

this is not a place i will visit in a hurry, I am a keen theme park fan and i had been planning a trip to Port Aventura theme park with my girlfriend. On arrival everything seemed nice me and my girlfriend were very tired due to being up very early that morning so we wanted just to check into our room, we were told that our room was still not ready until 2pm and we were to drop our baggage off and return at a later time. We dont advise people to leave bags in the baggage room unless you take all of your valuables with you, it is a very busy room and there are a lot of people in and out collecting items out of bags. They have a bell boy who helps with bags but his English isn't the best and it is really hard to communicate with him at times. We got our room key but found the room not to our liking very standard for a 4 star establishment, very basic in look no tea coffee, to get tea and coffee i have to upgrade to a superior room! 2 star in the uk serve basic tea coffee and even throw in a biccy! then it came to dinner i have to agree with other reviews on here food is not good. We had an issue with staff at dinner time very ignorant at times and my girlfriend had eaten some food and was unaware of what to do with her plate she put it on the table next to her and the waitress came upto us sucked her teeth and walked off not taking the plate, she then went on to speak to her colleagues in Spanish looking at us. We mentioned it to another member of staff but nothing was done. evening meal you have to pay for your drinks, and to be honest we had a coke which was a small glass bottle 75ml i think and a bottle of water cost 5.50 euros every night even though this isnt much add it up over the week then it adds up especially if you are a family with a budget. the entertainment is poor in my opinion some might like tribute bands but i think they miss the point trying to entertain the british with some pretty bad and tacky evening entertainment. Dont Pick up the phone the hotel charge you 1 euro everytime you try to ring on it and this is not stated anywhere in there brochure or room book, but they will still try to charge you. The positive is the roof jaccuzzi this is the hidden gem fantastic roof sunbathing in an adult zone no children, of course the roof over looking port aventura. My summary, i have stayed at better 4 star hotels in spain with staff that actually work to making your time as special as possible its a shame if the staff at this hotel understood the guest more then trying the argue and defend themselves the hotel might have less negative reviews. all in all hotel good locaton from beach and theme park but i wont be i a hurry to visit any time in the near future.More

Dazz T,

Decent hotel, shame about the food

We visited the H10 Salauris Palace as part of a last minute package deal and overall were pleased with what we got. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to the beach, and along this route you pass the Plana Bus excursions office, some small tourist shops and a supermarket-all of which are very handy! Our room, like the rest of the hotel was a good size, clean and had good air conditioning - perfectly comfortable for a week or two's stay. The one thing I did find strange was that we had a mini bar which was clearly plugged in but this was locked? It didn't bother me as I don't tend to use this facility but to keep these things under lock and key in a four star hotel seems a bit extreme to me. The hotel itself has a small-ish but nice pool downstairs with a snack bar which seemed quite popular and a regular bar and small newsagent also on site. The programme of events such as pool volleyball, water polo, children's activities and evening entertainment is clearly displayed on the way out to the pool and there seemed a lot for families to do should they wish to stay within the confines of the hotel. There are further Jacuzzi's on the rooftop terrace (highly recommended) and in the basement where there is also a gym, additional pool and sauna which all looked nice. The one thing which I felt really let the hotel down was the food. Whilst the choice is definitely varied, I found the quality lacking. In particular the scrambled eggs at breakfast were like rubber and the 'bacon' was rectangular and beige. I opted for yogurt, fruit and cereal. Dinner likewise was odd-We soon learnt that anything in a sauce was a no go and the soup was a definite one to avoid. Lots of chips and tortellini on offer though and the grill seemed to offer a slightly less odd tasting selection. We weren't too bothered as we'd got a good overall deal for the trip so just ate out but I don't think I'd pay too much extra for half board there in a hurry! Overall a nice hotel in a good location for access to the beach and the main part of town, just a shame about the food and mini bar.More

Fantastic stay would definitely come again!

Stayed here for a week to celebrate my partner's birthday and we had a great time. The hotel was very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. The only downside, which isn't such a downside is that the wifi isn't available in the rooms. As we had such a memorable time we would definitely love to return next year with our girls!More

Fantastic hotel, good location

I visited this hotel in the last week of October with my wife for her birthday and was very happy with the choice we made. The room was spacious, nice and clean. The only thing is that they gave us twin beds instead of double beds but we didn't mind that too much as we just pushed them together to make it a queensize. We went on half board basis 5 nights and the food was really good. There was enough variety for us to have something different everyday and they also offer the opportunity for you to exchange the dinner for lunch provided you inform them the day before which was handy as we wanted to have a special birthday dinner outside of the hotel. The staff here are very polite and accommodating. Everyone spoke English even though we made an effort to speak some Spanish. In terms of the actual facilities, they're great. I've never been to a hotel where they have a library! You can get a book from the library free of charge and if you want to keep it all you have to do is pay 3 euros. We didn't take our daughters with us but it looked like there was plenty of activities for children as well. The swimming pool area was good although we didn't spend much time there as it was October and my wife found it too cold but there's also the indoor pool which was nice and warm. When you add in the jacuzzi and gym you see that the facilities are very good. The hotel has so much to offer and I usually despise the entertainment on holidays during the evenings but the entertainment here was decent. I would definitely visit this hotel again. The only downside was that the walls are quite thin meaning that on the first night we actually heard the couple next door, if you know what I mean. But other than that no complaints and one of the best 4 star hotels I have been to.More

Good for Salou!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in mid September having heard good things about other H10 Hotels and reading previous reviews. Although there was nothing majorly wrong with this hotel it didn't blow us away. I can see why it's rated so highly for the resort, which on the whole is starting to feel quite tired and in need of an update. We visited mainland Spain as a change for a cheap break but we would probably stick to the Balearics if visiting Spain in future. The room was definitely one of the plus points. It was clean and a good size with comfortable beds. However the balcony was a real let down. The road view in itself wasn't an issue so much as the design of the balcony. It was like being enclosed in a concrete box and got virtually no sun! Plus when it rained heavily one day the water collecting above poured down into the balcony! Not great. The pool area was nice enough and although there were plenty of sun beds stacked up there wasn't actually a great deal of space to get a good spot. I can imagine in high season it would be a real struggle to get a bed in a good spot. The biggest let down was the restaurant. Although the food was nice the size and layout of the restaurant was poor for the size of the hotel. The queue just to get into the restaurant was ridiculous and I have never experienced anything like it. Most of the food was on one central island and there was no logic to the queuing so people would regularly push in front of you. It also felt understaffed at times so there would be plates building up or you'd wait ages to place a drinks order. On the plus side drinks were reasonably priced and the hotel shop was handy. Location wise this hotel is well placed for a stroll to the town and beach as well as being ideal for Port Aventura. Admittedly the beach in Salou is lovely and it's ideal for trips to La Pineda and Cambrils which are well worth a visit. Although we wouldn't return here again I would recommend it if staying in Salou as it probably is one of the better hotels. However compared to 4* hotels we have stayed in elsewhere we definitely felt this was a 3* plus at best.More
