Featuring an indoor pool, whirlpool bath, sauna and Turkish bath there's plenty of opportunity to close your eyes and drift away. If you want a real pamper then book in for a massage or one of the many other treatments on offer.
Set amongst several hotels of similar looking style, the Salauris Palace is just the job for a sunshine holiday in beautiful Spain.
It is five minutes from a massive beach which is busy but very well done with copious bars and facilities. It is also very handy for the pretty and lively town of Salou which is home to many attractive bars and restaurants .
The hotel itself has no outstanding feature it simply does what it does very well indeed. Rooms are clean modern and spacious. Food is varied and plentiful with not too much evidence of catering forBritish tastes but more emphasis on Spanish taste. The pool area is tidy with two bars. The pool is of good size.
Entertainment goes on all day around the pool and then continues into the night with the animacion team who work tirelessly . You can join in or not, whatever suits. The hotel felt very safe and we were happy to let our 8 year old son wander around and go up and down to the room on his own without worry. Staff were friendly but not in your face.
There is wifi freely available in public areas with no log on but the reception in the rooms is weak and needs improving. There is an adults only roof area with lovely views of the surrounding area.
The hotel has a few bits of ageing decor but nothing to get worked up about. We could not really have asked for more and would definitely recommend this nice hotel.More

i went to this hotel for two weeks in June for our honeymoon, at first thought it was a nice hotel but that soon changed, in all the hotels i have ever stayed in the reception staff in this hotel was the rudest. they just have no time for you and if you do ask a question its greeted with a roll of the eyes, room was OK and was cleaned every day, not great but was OK so no complaints their. my main concern was the price of drinks and snacks i don't mind paying over the odds lets face it your on holiday and you expect it, but almost every time we bought drinks they was a different price one day a drink would be £1.40 two days later i was charged £180 and yes i was then charged £250 now either the staff in the poolside are ripping off the guests or they really are in need of a abacus. as for the poolside its clean and tidy but do not leave your towels on the loungers as we witnessed staff taking them off on many of occasions because someone decides he wants to complain in a loud manner, right moan over now for the food, in our opinion it was excellent breakfast was OK no complaints and dinner was great every night. the staff in the restaurant was very good and professional, i just wish i could rate the hotel just on them it would then be a 5* as for the restaurant manager the hotel should thank their lucky stars they have him he was excellent, we have now decided we will be going back to salou next year but we are not sure which hotel to pick as the food at this one was great but most other things are poor if we did come back it would only be because of the restaurant.,, one tip i will leave is if your planning an excursion do it with the bus planner they are all over the town and half the price of the reps. give then a try,More

What a lovely Stay
Just got back from a 2 week holiday with my family.
The hotel was brilliant. The staff were great warm and friendly, Breakfast was tasty and delicious.
There was enough sun beds around the pool and it was kept very clean and tidy. Nice area for my little one to have a splash in the pool.
I did ask for a first floor room as we had a small baby and ended up on the top floor. Apart from that everything was amazing. Thank You for a great stayMore

Good Family Hotel, close to PortAventura
We have just returned from a two week stay at the Salauris Palace. My wife and I were travelling with our 13 year son. We choose this hotel as it was ranked #1 by TripAdvisor.
To summarise, itâs a good hotel and is family friendly. It has many very positive features including helpful staff.
Herefollows is what we hope is a helpful and balanced review.
⢠Our bedroom was excellent, on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. It had a great air conditioning system which was easy to operate. The beds were comfortable with plenty pillows and blankets. The room also had really good black out blinds which allowed us to sleep out till almost 10.00hrs most mornings, and thatâs a major plus during holidays.
⢠The housekeeping was top class: room was perfectly attended to on a daily basis.
⢠There was excellent Free Wi-Fi throughout hotel including the bedroom and registering was uncomplicated.
⢠The hotel provided a complimentary Safety deposit box, many others charge for this.
⢠We found the staff to be hard working if a little impersonal. On a one to one, they are all helpful. In particular, we would like to mention the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant as they were exceptionally helpful on a number of occasions.
⢠Animation staff were really excellent and courteous. They were genuine and tried to involve everyone without being pushy. They got the balance perfect and were equally at home with the kiddies, teenagers and adults.
⢠During our stay, we felt that there was nice class of clientele staying in the hotel and they seemed to be a mixture of French, Spanish, British, Russian and Irish.
⢠The Pool was welcoming, clean, refreshing and a nice depth with really attentive life guards.
⢠We found an ample supply of sunbeds, no waiting at all. We often went to the pool at 1100hrs and found beds without hassle.
⢠Drink menu was good and costs were reasonable for a hotel. Expect to pay â¬12 to â¬18 for a good bottle of wine/cava. Soft drinks about â¬2.50 and beer circa â¬3.50 a pint. Table service on the hotel terraces was very good.
⢠Our 13 year old made lots of friends, so great place for teenagers to meet.
⢠There was a good stress-free queuing system in the restaurant and we never had long wait. The restaurant staff were always courteous and welcoming.
⢠There was a good breakfast selection, but they might have managed the omelette and egg station a little better. There were often some queues here and for some reason, the fried eggs seemed a little undercooked to our preference.
⢠The complimentary cava every morning was a really nice touch. It was self-service from an inviting ice bucket. We have stayed in other Spanish 4 star and 5 star hotels and most do not offer this. Well done to the hotel.
⢠We stayed half board and the hotel were happy to exchange dinner for lunch if you give them sufficient notice
⢠The location is 10 minutes walking from PortAventura and 10 minutes from beach. Excellent location for the theme park.
⢠Supermarkets/bars are just 5 minutes away.
⢠The Manager Mr Jesus seems like a nice guy. He is unpretentious, rolls up his sleeves, gets involved and seems to have good rapport with his staff. This is nice to see. When you ask for anything as we did, it was no problem to him and he delivered.
⢠This was a very family friendly hotel, there were small kids running around up to 11pm which added to the nice feel in the place. The kids club looked very active and all of the little ones seemed to have been having a great time.
⢠The Hotel is wheel-chair friendly
⢠The check in and check out was effortless. The hotel has two blocks serviced by ample efficient elevators. The hotel also has an ATM in the lobby which is nice.
⢠We felt that when we compared with other hotels we have stayed in, the choice and quality of the evening food in the restaurant could have been a little better. We acknowledge that the hotel tries to cater for a diverse range of cultures/tastes and it is not easy to satisfy over 500 guests over a short period. There was no excuse for anyone leaving the restaurant hungry as there was always plenty food. However, we felt that there were a few little things that could be done better.
⢠There is a section at the back of the restaurant where guests can interact with one or two chefs at their cooking station but in our opinion, this was very basic when compared to other establishments. We also felt that the quality of the main dishes were inconsistent. For example on our first night, the primary meat option seemed to be beef burgers. The hotel did serve steaks and lamb chops some nights but we thought that the meat quality was was not as tender as it could be.This may be due to the meat cuts chosen . Also, they tend to over-cook the steaks and leave in a heap on a self service bowl which is not appetising. It would have been really nice if a dedicated chef grilled steaks each night and then served individually to meet personal preferences.
⢠We felt that overall, the selection of fresh fish for grilling was not great, given the location so close to the sea. However, on some nights, they had some really nice choices such as fresh lobster and shrimps and these were as good as one could find in any high class restaurant.
⢠We felt that the food on the buffet racks tended to be lukewarm many evenings unless one got a fresh delivery from the kitchen. We suggest that the hotel should look at a better system such as heat lamps or steam tables.
⢠The hotel charged for some little things which surprised us and we felt they probably didnât need to do. One wonders if the additional revenue generated is worth sacrificing goodwill. For example, they charge â¬3/day for use of a fridge/mini-bar. They also charged â¬1 for each pool towel exchange. My hunch is that whist on paper it seems like an appropriate additional revenue stream, they really don't need to do this as it cheapens the image.
⢠We felt that the ambience in the internal public bar/recreation room area was not appealing and we rarely sat there. Everything thing seemed white and brightly lit. It was much too clinical for our tastes, it as almost like being in a pharmacy with bar stools. We feel that the hotel could do with an inviting small and intimate bar which would be conducive for guests to socialise.
All in all, this was a nice hotel with attentive and helpful staff. It was impeccably clean and we enjoyed our holiday there. We have happy memories and we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel to other families or couples that would like to stay in Salou.More
