Brilliant Visit

I stayed here for a week with my family in August 2014 for a week with Thomson Holidays. It was a brilliant hotel not too far away from the airport or the beach. Brilliant friendly staff and cheap prices at the bar even if you wasn't all inclusive. We we're all inclusive and the food was amazing. A different selection every day. The rooms were quite standard but it doesn't matter considering the rooms were only used to change and shower in most of the time. Apart from that this was a very good 4 star hotel.More

Ewan M,

Good holiday

My partner and I stayed here in July 2015 for 2 weeks on a half board basis. Firstly, the hotel is clean, tidy and the staff are helpful and courteous. The size of the room was pretty small with us being there 2 weeks as there was not a lot of storage. However the room was cleaned every day with clean towels provided (which is the most important thing). There was a small fridge in the room however this didn't really work and did not have a lot of space which wasn't great. The hotel is family orientated, given it was height of summer there was a lot kids - if you don't like this it's not for you. There are two swimming pools and lots of sunbeds (although if you want a good spot with a parasol you have to get up at around 7:45am - as we were going to the pool at 9:30am and there wasn't much left.) the entertainment team were good fun, especially for the kids. However I enjoyed the water aerobics everyday as the man who took it was hilarious - also made you feel like you were working off a little bit of the food and drink!! This was the first time we had went half board, I would say that it would be good for you if you have children as I know eating out can be expensive. As there is a range of nationalities at this hotel - dinners were often a large varied selection to appeal to the different cultures. The food was good, there was always something I could eat at dinner, however the dinners did become repetitive. I will say that breakfast was amazing. So much choice - the fresh pancakes were lush. The location of the hotel is closer to Port Aventura (which is fab - you should definitely go!) however it took only around 10 minutes to walk to the main centre of the resort. Although I would say if you have difficulties walking be careful of some of the pavements as they are pretty uneven. All in all we had a great holiday and the Golden Port was a fab base to enjoy Salou. More

Rooms average but has a good restaurant and facilities.

We stayed here half board on a package holiday and thought the facilities and the restaurant were really good. The evening meals and breakfasts had a good variety and to a high standard. The entertainment and bar area were OK nothing special but bearable and the pool area was good. The location was good not far from the beach and the reception staff were very helpful in telling us what to do in the area. They helped us book are day trip by coach to Barcelona. The room itself was average but it didn't bother us to much as we were out most of the time. I would return to this Hotel again if I was staying in the area.More

Great Hotel

Stayed here for a week, 17th to 24th October with Thomson Holidays. First impression of the hotel was great, they had the foyer decorated in a Halloween theme which was really nice. Check in was ok although had a slight wait for our room to be ready (the trouble when flying 6am from Glasgow). The room was ready at the time reception advised and once in the room 525 it was lovely. nice and spacious, the bathroom had a walk in shower which was great. We had asked for the quieter side of the hotel which we got. Overall very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness of the room. The only point I would say is the tv only had 2 English channels (BBC News & Music Channel) not so good. Advise though if you are staying put some films on a memory stick as the TV had a USB slot and hopefully it would work. The restaurant was very large and well presented in Halloween theme too. The guys on the door do an amazing job making sure everyone gets seated, well impressed. The food bearing in mind we were in Spain was great, its cooked different and presented different but its still food after all. Couldn't fault it Lovely. The waiting staff on the whole were good and quick to offer drinks etc. The bar was good, we went all inclusive which was great and would advise. Drinks were fine on the whole. We stayed a couple of nights for the entertainment which was ok. Same as other folk have mentioned though, the pillars are in the wrong place and block some of the stage depending where you sit. The pool area was lovely, nice big out door pool, unfortunately there is not a lot of space for sunbeds where you can stay in the sun all day. luckily it was quitter and we were able to move round. Could be busy in the height of the season though. Indoor pool is a nice touch too for when its not so warm. Didn't use the Spa however it did look very nice. Barcelona was a good trip along with the football stadium, even if you don't follow football (like me) its still good to go. Las Rambles was good but busy. Went to chaplins one night was a good night, Michael Buble was good then had Katy Perry and last was Beyoncé, both good as well. Salou Beach was really nice and easy walk from the hotel (10 mins ish), We spent 2 days at Port Ventura park which was great and the Halloween Parade was really good too. Forgot to say too, The room we had did have a strong Wifi signal. Overall a really good holiday and would go again.More
