excellent value for money

visited this hotel 19th to the 30th of june and really enjoyed every minute we were there.Check in was quick and efficient and got a room on the 5th floor with views overlooking the pool and even though we were above the bar and entertainment room we could not hear any noise from there. The staff on reception were really helpfull with any questions you had and the 2 greeters in the restaurant Javier and Antonio were absolutely brilliant with everybody who came through the doors. The rooms were of a decent size with hanging space and shelves for clothes and the bathroom had a walk in shower but no bath .It had a hair dryer and soap ,shampoo, and shower gel along with towels. The food in the restaurant was of a really good standard and plenty of choice for breakfast lunch and evening meals. The pool area was good although if you want a sunbed be prepared to get up early as towels are on beds from 6 30 onwards Drinks were very generous when drinking shorts and lagers ok in entertainment area and most of the entertainment was better than the normal spanish acts. The beach was a 10 to 15 minute walk along some rather uneven paths with broken or raised slabs .Overall a really good hotel and would return and recommend to most people Go and enjoy it ,we did .More

June 2015

A short distance from the airport, which was fine.good admin on arrival, rooms were clean and adequate, and generally well maintained. Plenty of sun beds at pools, but had to buy towels.the staff were friendly and hospitable, and helpful, particularly the the out side pool/lifeguard.The food was typical buffet style, with not much imagination, could have been better.the free wifi had a limited range, but served the purpose of communication to family.a short walk to shops, and shore front.A big change from when we were last there about 20 years ago. All in all a good holiday.More

Holiday to Salou

Returned a week ago from the Golden Port Salou Hotel and Spa. We flew with Thomsons for a week on an all inclusive basis. The hotel is flagged as a 4 star and based on Spanish mainland ratings is fairly accurate. The room was fairly small yet had a double and single bed and a well appointed bathroom, but for two of us it as fine. The buffet restaurant offered a good choice of breakfast and evening meals with plenty of staff serving drinks and clearing tables. The pool bar did snack at lunchtime that were limited but ok as we only wanted a snack. There was daytime activities each day for children, teenagers and adults, all run by the entertainment team. Sufficient room and sun beds by the pool, however the beds were getting a little worn. Salou was an hour on the train from Barcelona (17 euro return) and is well worth the time to see some of the sights the city has to offer. Overall a good weeks holiday.More

Paul D,

fun in the sun

we are just back from this hotel and enjoyed it very much. The rooms where a good size nice shower but no bath like some have said not didn't matter. Some have said beds not comfortable but it's just your taste.how some people can complain I don't know amazing choice. All the staff in the restaurant where nice if you treat people with respect they do the same.we didn't go to the pool where they have the day time entertainment but it seamed very good if that's what you want.the girls would come around the other pool giving out pieces of melon. The only thing that could be a bit better was some of the evening entertainment. All in all a very nice hotel. Some one put a review about it being in a residential area we liked this as it ment there was not to much noise outside in the early hours of the morning. If these had looked into some of the apartment blocks they would of seen very well kept lawns swimming pools and play areas for the childernMore
