Good hotel!

Stayed here for 10 days(AI) and had excellent service throughout our stay. Room was adequate with a nice balcony, cleaned daily and clean towels given. Good walk in shower with plenty of room. Food in restaurant was excellent, always plenty of choice and waiter service for drinks. Branded spirits in AI which was a pleasant surprise. Only one 'cocktail of the day' which was a bit disappointing, had to pay extra for any others. Plenty of sunbeds round pool area, and staff do make an effort to stop people reserving them for too long, but July is very busy and hotel full, therefore not enough beds for everyone - pool and surroundings heaving and really noisy!! Beach a good 15 minute walk. Wifi available in reception but a bit erratic in other parts of hotel. No english channels on TV, would have expected BBC World News/Sky News?! Entertainment is inside, can't really comment as only saw the Flamenco show which was brilliant, even though had to stand to watch it, a shame they haven't an outside area for the evening entertainment, and more room to accommodate all guests. This hotel is suitable for families and not for couples who prefer a quieter holiday. Despite this, I would definitely return as it has so many good factors, but not in high season!More

A great holiday

Lovely friendly hotel with free wifi so I could keep my Facebook friends updated with holiday pictures. We met two other families and we all felt the same. Food was excellent, so much choice. Javier in the restaurant was so helpful and smiles all the time. The entertainment team worked hard to make sure everyone had good time. We all loved Israel, Amber and Julian and my 18 yr old twin boys joined in everything.. They loved the hotel so much they didn't even venture out to the night life of salou.. Every night managed to get good seats at the back, with no obstructions to the stage. You did have to be up early in morning to get good position for sun beds which was sometimes a struggle after drinking proper Smirnoff vodka. Our favourite nights were 80's, Ricky and Michael Jackson . its the first time I've actually got up to dance in a hotel. Everything was good quality and lots to choose from, including ice creams and lollies, milk shakes and slush. I have put on over one stone in weight in two weeks. Just missed hash browns for breakfast. All 11 of us had an amazing time.. Thankyou 👍More

A great week

Thought the Golden Port hotel was really good. Great big reception area and the bus drops you off and picks you up just outside, no pulling cases up the street. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach area and shops there is also a large supermarket nearby if you need it. The breakfasts were good with plenty of variety and so was the evening meal and snacks were available in the bar area and reasonably priced. The entertainment in the evenings was varied anf of a good standard. The bedroom was a good size and had a comfortable bed with a good shower.. I would use this hotel againMore

Returned after 35 years

A very average hotel like many , no major faults and no bad areas in this place. Staff , food, rooms, bars, swimming areas very nice. Plenty of sun beds to go round? Didn't take kindly being told to take our drinks inside after 12 o clock so they could lock up the pool area. Well placed and well looked after. Well done Staff at this hotelMore

Mostly good

Eleven night stay here and arrived at midday, check in was smooth and took five mins. We were on third floor looking into main road and it was very quiet. Some noise on a night from disrespectful guests returning to their room! Room was fine with nice bathroom and shower, cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Food was outstanding, we were full board and enjoyed every single meal which is a first. Pool is a pain as others have said, we don't come on holiday to be up at 7am so missed out most days on getting a bed. Beach was lovely but 23 Euros for three beds and a shade. We didn't see any shows but our seven yr old loved the mini disco. We did Barcelona footy and fountains and the aquapolis both were fab but cost £200 for 3 of us with Tui which I thought was a bit pricy given you make your own way to water park! Lovely evenings on the beach front lots of lovely places to sit and have a drink and watch the sunset. All in all a good holiday.More
