This place gives you a trio of pools to choose from. And you’re only a short walk from the beach.
This place has a trio of pools, including a big lagoon number. There’s also a large buffet restaurant and a lounge bar that hosts nightly live entertainment like cabaret. The luxury spa rounds things off.
It’s less than 15 minutes’ walk to Playa Capellans Beach, while Levante Beach is even closer. And while it’s a 10-minute walk to the main strip, there are bars and restaurants just outside the door.
For ages 3 to 12 years. Whatever your little ones are into they'll be well entertained here. There's art, sports, games and films during the day. And the fun continues into the evening with shows, face painting and a mini-disco.
From the. Moment we walked into Redhill Thompsons and spoke to Mauri are holiday was a winner, hotel was first class.Very clean lots to do, staff extremely friendly and the food was 5 star.
Flights hotel rep and the down hill mountain bike excursion were top rate too.
We will definitely be going back to Redhill and booking our holiday for next year.More
We have just gotten back from a weeks holiday at the golden port hotel and we where not disappointed.
The hotel caters for all nationalities and ages, couples family's or friends!
I would say this is more of a family orientated hotel rather then a romantic couples place to stay, but when I booked this I thought this was more a "thomsons family hotel"
Hotel reception and staff where very friendly in all aspects.
The canteen staff weren't very attentive and most days I still had all my plates on my table waiting to be collected, but that was probably due to the business of the canteen.
The food had a very large variety but I would say more to the lower end of quality.
Kiss could always find something such as chicken nuggets, burgers or hot dogs. But I wouldn't say we had a brilliant meal in that week!
The room was small but good we had a room facing the pool which was nice and a sun catcher.
The halls outside your room are quite loud so you can hear everything going on in your neighbours rooms and outside the rooms.
The cleaners shouted outside the halls every morning to each other rather then walking up to each other at 8am!
The room had a tv but no english channels or any other language which for such a large hotel that caters for so many nationalities is a little weird.
We hired a car which there really wasn't any need to as everything is accessible very easy via foot or bus.
Hotel is in a great location but due to us going end of season most places where shut.
Overall I would rate the hotel a good 3 star hotel and would say we had a fab holiday.More

Great value for money !!!
Just back from a week half board and from arriving to leaving had an excellent time! We arrived about 9.30pm and were ushered to dump our cases in luggage room and head straight to buffet for tea. Staff really smiley, happy and made us welcome.
We were all happy with our rooms - read some reviews saying rooms were small - how much room do you need?? One room had 2 double beds and the others had double bed and a sofa bed which was bigger than a single. Bit hard but not bad. Good shower, powerful with jets so you could wash without getting hair wet etc. clean towels every day
Great choice every day! Plenty fruit, bread, desserts every day. Main meals every day was different eg roast chicken, pork, beef, turkey, along with chips, sliced potatoes, burgers, hot dogs etc. if food run low it would be topped up instantly.
Too cold for outside but we tried! Indoor lovely and warm. Plenty sun loungers
We loved the kids disco and bingo- sing "we are the champs" when someone won the bingo and it cracked me up it was so funny!! The guy shouting numbers was just hilarious and I can hear him saying 69. Shows were good to watch and some were better than others 4 tops, Polynesian dancers and African acrobats whereas magicians were less than impressive. Bar staff got to know your orders and always managed to find where we were sitting which meant you could enjoy the pool or shows etc. Bar snacks were good too.
Our group of 8 took taxi to Port Aventura for 10 euros. Husband and I took bus to Cambrils and La Pineda 2 euros each way each person but you can buy bus pass to make it cheaper.More
This was our first time in Salou, so it was pot luck on which hotel we would choose. We arrived really early about 10oclock not expecting our room to be ready. On checking in we were told our room was ready on the 6th floor, overlooking the pool. The room was very spacious with two double beds, plenty of wardrobe space but surprised not to see any sliding doors on the wardrobes, could have done with a few more draws to put clothes in. Bathroom very spacious and clean. Meals are buffet style, we stayed HB and there was always something to eat. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment was a bit of a hit or miss. The Bejing Acrobats were the best act of the week for me, other juggling acts etc and the usual bingo. The children entertainment was very good. We had a pleasant stay but didnt actualy spend a lot of time in the hotel.More

The good and bad
This was our fifth time in Salou in as many years, we usually stay in The golden Avenida suites which is the sister hotel just a little way down the road but have always used the Port for our evening entertainment.
So this year we ( myself and my elderly mother) decided to book the Port for our holiday.Having emailed the hotel prior to our visit requesting a first floor room overlooking the pool we were happy to get what what we wanted. However upon arrival we had to wait for 3hours and fifteen minutes before we could actually get into the room. This was the last thing we wanted having been up all night for an early flight as you can imagine we were extremely tired. The Thomson rep was absolutely useless and she had a really attitude which didn't help.
Once we did eventually get into our room we were disappointed to find a double and a single bed squeezed in to a small room. There was no floor space whatsoever and the single bed was right against the patio door.
The bathroom had a bath and shower in, however the floor was dirty and the bath was so slippery that my mother slipped and fell resulting in a huge bruise on her leg. I spoke to reception and request an an anti slip mat for the bath and a bath mat for the floor.3 requests and 6 days later still nothing! So I spoke to the manager and within an hour we finally got it along with an extra pillow and a ticket for a spa for us both as ways of an apology.
The room was swept twice during our 2week stay, floors were mopped once (that didn't include the balcony,) we had to request clean towels and toilet roll as well as they weren't replaced on the beginning of the second week.
We came out on to the balcony on the Friday before we left to find the wall had crumbled and was all over the floor, we did however report it straight away and someone came to sweep up the mess straight away.
Bad points over....
The good bits.....
The food was really nice I opted for a salad most nights but there was plenty of variety for everyone, and the themed nights were also really good, cannot fault the restaurant staff and door staff at all, they were very friendly and helpful.
The entertainment was good, although started quite late for the adults, would suggest getting in quite early though as a lot of guests from neighbouring hotels end up in there so you can struggle for somewhere to sit. The animation team were wonderful and they work so hard, the shows they put on are really good...grease, pops stars, and Eurovision are amazing. Well done to Israel and his team.
There are a few pools and plenty of sun loungers along with activities throughout the day to give you a good giggle, the sangria making is a must, you will be in hysterics.....and slightly tipsy!
Shops restaurants etc just 5 mins away, and there is a choice of beaches depending how for you want to walk, there are buses that are very good value to take you to local markets. We went to cambrils, and la Pineda, and would recommend them for a bargain.
The bar staff work hard and are always collecting your glasses and taking your drinks orders which is good if you don't want to wait in the queue at the bar to get served.
There is plenty to do in and around Salou, but a lot of guests choose to stay in the hotel especially if they have children as there are lots of children's activities throughout the day.
All in all ( apart from the bad points I mentioned earlier) it was a good holiday and will definitely be returning to Salou again next year, and will be visiting the Port and our friends, but think I will be returning to the Avenida.More
