Hotel Belvedere

A great pool and buffet restaurant makes this place stand out from the crowd. Plus, the beach is just a stroll away.

The Belvedere comes with a big main pool. It scores highly on the food front, too, with a poolside snack bar and an international buffet restaurant. At night, the bar hosts bingo and live shows.

The centre of Salou is just a 10-minute walk down the road – you’ll find a sandy beach, and a host of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s the same time to PortAventura, Spain’s number one theme park.

Myself, my partner and children have just returned from this hotel and have had a really good stay. We were at this same hotel the same time last year too and after a successful trip that time so we had high hopes and it didnt dissapoint. The reception staff were most helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The food was yet again very nice with a good choice. The pool was clean and tidy and the spa was nice. My only dissapointments were the gym was none existant as the bike and rower were both broken and this time around we really wanted a pool view side balcony as the road side balconies we had last year and it was noisy with the road etc so yet again we were put on road side even tho i paid a paid a coulple of pounds more for a pool view and even emailed the hotel a couple of weeks before to request this (they never responed). All in all a very good experience and a big shout out to the cleaners/maids who do a fantastic job and deserve lots of credit.More

Stayed for a week in this hotel, reasonably pried. Very well located as it is close to the pubs, restaurants and shops of Salou and is also only a 10/15 minute walk from Port Aventura theme park. The rooms were a good size with a good sized bathroom. Although in need of an update (not really 1st priority) it was well maintained and cleaned everyday. Bad points about the room is that you have to pay for the safe, I don't mind a deposit but it was 25€ for 6 nights with a 3€ deposit which I felt quite expensive. My room had a lovely pool view however at night you can hear the entertainment downstairs which is a bit annoying especially being on the 4th floor with the balcony doors closed. The food was ok not brilliant but not poor. Being half board I didn't sample the lunch menu, I only had breakfast and tea. Everyday for breakfast was the same, a continental buffet with a choice of hams, cheeses, cereal and toast. There was also cooked breakfasts available including sausage, egg, bean, chips and there was also chance to get an omelette. Hot drinks, water and juices were available from the machines as well. However come to the evening meal be aware that there is NO DRINKS FREE, you HAVE to pay for drink. A litre of water was 2,20 and that's all I got on my 1st evening, I didn't drink with any other evening meals for the duration of the holiday. This was very frustrating as there was no notice to say that drinks would be charged. After the initial shock of having to pay for my drink having not been told, after my meal I went down the road to the local shop and bought 5 litres of water for 0,90€ which I kept in my room and drank before I went for my evening meal. The food at the evening meal however was good, again a choice of salad and cooked food; chips, rice, chicken, fish, pork. There was also a choice of paella and pizza. whilst for desert there was lots of different cakes available, yoghurts and ice cream. The hotel facilities were also good, the spa, sauna and steam room were very nice although the gym equipment was not working. The pool and pool area was nice, there was people reserving sunbeds, leaving for the morning then coming back and not using their sunbeds which shouldn't have been reserved anyway although most places you visit this is a common problem. All in all an average hotel, you get what you pay for, but the main plus apart from the cheap price is the location, which is hard to beat.More

Great Hotel.

Spent 11 days end of September 2014 with my husband. We have visited Salou many times but this was the first time in the Hotel Belvedere. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the Hotel, public areas and bedrooms. The food had a fantastic choice at each mealtime. It's just a short stroll to the beach and shops. This is the friendliest Hotel we have been in, the staff always seemed to have time to smile and greet us. Even other visitors seemed happy to chat, which is something you don't always get in Hotels. Perhaps that is why we have just booked 14 days in May 2015, and we can't wait. Belvedere here we come. Mr and Mrs Miller.More

Nice holiday. 7 nights. 9-16 Sept 2014

For a 3-star hotel, me and my partner were not expecting too much, as long as it was clean and a nice base to stay at whilst we explored the town. Hotel staff were very friendly, happy to comply and we felt very welcomed. Buffet was a bit random at times, but still pretty okay. Loved the selection of cheeses! (Tip: Look out for the roast beast at the end of the buffet around the corner to the right) Had a room facing the hotel opposite, which seemed to have some interesting entertainment lasting up to about 10pm, so if you were hoping to get an early night every night, this might be an issue. But then why would you go to a resort hotel for this that... The rooms itself was quite spacious with two double beds pushed together, a decent en-suite bathroom and tv. No mini-fridge which might have been useful to store water, although the vending machine in reception vends a cold 2 litre bottle for €1.30. The balcony was a nice place to chill with some sangria and relax. The pool was very good too, but keep an eye on the activities board as events like water aerobics and water polo happen, which require the use of it. Since we booked through Thompson, enjoyed the evening at 'The house of Illusion' and the evening trip out to 'Decades' in nearby Reus. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away and perfect for taking a stroll or a long trek, if you're so inclined. Me and the missus walked to Cambrils just enjoying the weather, sights and stopping at the many, many beach bars along the way. There are various shop, stalls, restaurants, pizza places, bars and cafes about. The palm trees about really give the feel of being elsewhere if you're from the UK. Only two three things I would say about the hotel are: Firstly, that the glassware used wasn't always particularly clean, but wasn't sure if it was a common thing or down to a dishwasher problem. Secondly, the air-con in the room rattled a little. Again it could just have been something that developed just before or during our stay there, but we din't mention it. Thirdly, the majority the other tourists greeted us with smiles, but some of them were slightly rude, with permanently sour faces (I suppose with that many people, statistically not everyone would be happy, but weren't they happy to be on holiday...?) Either way, these things didn't put us off. All in all as 25-35 age bracket holidayers (and a first-time flier myself), it was a great, quite relaxed holiday...with lots of nights out too! We definitely would stay again and hope to again in the future! :)More

We stayed at Belvedere in August. Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival, although did stop to talk to their friends a couple of times while they were sorting us out. Once rooms were eventually ready they we found they were spacious and clean with a view overlooking the pool. Hotel was completely full so very busy everywhere. Food was very nice, but a bit repetitive but servers in the restaurant were very quick and efficient in clearing away and relaying tables once people had finished, so never difficult to get a decent table. The only issue we really had was that people were queueing at 7 am to put their towels on the sunbeds, even though this was apparently not allowed. Many of those people didn't show for most of the day, so it was impossible on most days to find a sunbed if you weren't prepared to get up and queue at the crack of dawn. Very conveniently located for shops, bars, beach and buses. Did a couple of the excursions offered from the hotel and were very pleased with them.More
