Just a five-minute walk from the centre of Salou, this multi-national hotel is in a great spot. Not only have you got a host of shops, restaurants and bars on your doorstep, but the beach is only about ten minutes away, too. What’s more, Spain’s number one theme park, PortAventura, is just a 10 minute walk away.
Back at the hotel, day-to-day life tends to centre around the lively pool area. You’ll find a huge main pool, as well as a smaller one for the kids. There’s a snack bar out here, too, which serves up a good selection of home favourites around the clock, including burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches. Talking of food, the hotel also has a buffet restaurant where you can head for breakfast and evening meals.
You're spoilt for choice when it comes to keeping busy here, too. Catch the latest football game at the bar, or relax in the sauna or Turkish bath. In the evenings, meanwhile, there is bingo followed by live music and dancing.
Last but not least, a word on the hotel’s bedrooms. They’re simply decorated, with whitewashed walls and bright soft furnishings the norm. Plus, they all come with satellite TVs and air-conditioning.

Very disappointed with this hotel, but on the bright side we were only there for a week. The room we were given was very small, it consisted of two beds, a small chair, a dressing table, two bedside cabinets and a small wardrobe. This took up nearly all of the floor space. The dressing table and bedside cabinets did not have any drawers so any odds and ends were always getting lost and cases had to be left on the floor. After a couple of days you find yourself getting depressed just being in the room. The bathroom was one of the smallest we have seen measuring about 173cm x 167cm. It consisted of a sink, bath with shower and w.c. Every time you opened the door it hit the w.c. Having a shower was another experience because it was a constant battle trying to stop the shower curtain engulfing you. The room service leaves a lot to be desired. When we arrived we found two cheap plastic tumblers in the bathroom these did not get changed all week. We would have complained about this but had enough trouble trying to get the beds made. On the Tuesday we came back to the room to find the beds had not been touched but thought the maid had been busy so my wife made them herself. On Wednesday the same thing beds not touched so went to see the Thomson rep. She assured me the beds should be straitened by the maid and would follow it up with the hotel staff. The following day Thursday was our last full day and unbelievably the maid again did not touch the beds. The Thomson rep was not available so I complained to the hotel receptionist who did apologise with a couldn't care less attitude and said she would report it to her supervisor. The next morning our rep was on the pick up coach so I asked her if she had followed up our complaint with the hotel staff. She said she had and was sorry the matter was not resolved. It would seem this hotel and the rep deals with complaints from guests staying only for one week by ignoring them, knowing before long they will be on a plane and gone. The food is more or less the same choice every day, if you like pork you won't go wrong. If you do decide to go to this hotel try and be first off the transfer coach because it takes ages to check in. This Hotel is said to be 10min from the beach. It probably is if you are an athlete in training, but walking there in flip flops is another matter, allow yourself about 20 min.More

Lovely relaxing stay
Have recently stayed at the Belvedere on a girlie holiday with my friend. We were looking for a quiet relaxing holiday and that's exactly what we got. Friendly staff, clean rooms and good locations. Could easily walk everywhere from here including portaventura. Only criticism for me was lack of veggie options at dinner, that said there is an imense amount of choice for the non veggies. Would go back if in salou again. More

We stayed here in October, the hotel was still very full. The hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were nice and just enough room (even for suitcases!,). They rooms were cleaned everyday and towels replaced. We enjoyed our week stay. Great location for the beach and portadventura :-) Minor issues - the manors of other guests was shocking, they say the English know how to que, it appears nobody else does !! People would just flock the counters in the restaurants in any manner and leave a trail of destruction. Same with reception and checking out - it was a free for all !! Obviously this is not down to the hotel but be warned !!! I'm sure all hotels would be the same.More

Value for money.
Stayed at the Belvedere mid October right at the very end of the season in Salou. We have been to Salou many times before and knew that the location of the hotel would be perfect for our stay , which it was, as it is 10 mins to the beach and shops and most importantly 10 mins to Portavenura. The hotel was clean, room was decent size, daily maid service and quiet. You will pay more if you require a safe or a remote for the tv and interestingly a swim cap is a requirement to use the Jacuzzi in the spa which can be purchased at reception. The Spa is great, nice steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi in a downstairs area off the main lobby with access to the outdoor pool. The outdoor pool was nice as was the poolside area however when we visited despite the weather hitting 25 most days the pool was ice cold. Most staff were friendly and helpful, we did find the male receptionist rude, ignoring us on more than one occasion. Breakfast and dinner were of course buffet style which does mean that not everything is always going to be piping hot( when will us brits ever get this), breakfast had plenty to choose from with cereals, fruits, pastries, yogurts, cheeses ,cooked meats etc with 3 different sausages, 2 different types of bacon, beans, scrambled eggs, fresh tomatoes and chips?? on the main buffet table, with fried eggs, omelettes and pancakes cooked to order at the grill area . Dinner had a bit of everything for everybody but could have been at a bit more varied as it was a bit samey most nights,im guessing this was more to do with it being the end of season with fewer guests to cater for. However there was always plenty of salads, meat , pizza, grilled fish, desserts and fruit every night. All in all we had a great stay at the Belvedevere and would go back if it was just a break for the two of us.More

Suffient,clean and central location.
We are a family of 4 and stayed at this hotel 27th Aug till 3rd Sept 2013. It was a very last minute booking and for the price we paid we would not complain. We were in room 3511 which was in the second block which overlooked the main road, it was noisy at times but no problem as we didnt spend enough time in th room to be bothered by it. The location was ok about 15 minutes from the beach which was a nice little walk with loads of little shops, bars restaurants along the way.It was about a 20 mins walk to portaventura depending speed of walking. The swimming pool was nice a little of the small side bu tmany people tended to sunbathe rather than swimming anyway. The activities around the pool were fun my girls particuarly enjoyed the inflatables and the foam party is a must too!! My only concern was that it is labelled as a family hotel yet I complained twice to the entertainment staff as music was heavily based on swearing which I deemed inappropriate for my children. Evening entertainment was a little hit and miss the bingo Starts way too early especially if you have to wait for a table at dinner. Some evenings entertainment looked a bit boring but others such as ones involving audience participation were really good. Portaventura is a must we brought the evening ticket which worked out cheaper, we had a fab time! This hotel is the perfect location!! Food was what you would expect at peak times there would be queues at various stations such as omlettes /pancakes and pizza/roasts. But it is to be expected. Food varied as there were themed nights, we stayed half board drinks are very expensive in the hotel generally and in the restaurant. I saw people sneak their own in which I dont condone. The hotel would probably do well as a all inclusive hotel all round as I dont think I saw anybody buying drinks. There is free wi fi in the reception area when the strength is strong enough to connect however personally I felt this should either have been all over the hotel or not at all as the main reception area seemed to be full of people standing ,sitting on the floor, on chairs all trying to contact with ipads laptops etc. It was a little off putting and much of the time it was a very poor connection signal. Would I visit again? YesMore
