Hotel Belvedere

A great pool and buffet restaurant makes this place stand out from the crowd. Plus, the beach is just a stroll away.

The Belvedere comes with a big main pool. It scores highly on the food front, too, with a poolside snack bar and an international buffet restaurant. At night, the bar hosts bingo and live shows.

The centre of Salou is just a 10-minute walk down the road – you’ll find a sandy beach, and a host of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s the same time to PortAventura, Spain’s number one theme park.

Friendly, family hotel

I stayed here in August 2014 with my daughter. We got a room with a balcony on the poolside as requested as we checked in. Luckily we were staying up for the entertainment every night because we were right above the stage area. The animation (animcio) team were great, putting on water polo and boules and evening antics on the stage including a children's mini-disco . There was entertainment every night. They also always spoke in Spanish, English and French, translating quicly into three languages was impressive. The location is excellent just ten minutes from the beach and close to Port Aventura if you plan to go there. We personaly enjoyed the shopping experiences and the local Tapas bars. Also the beach has a sports area a short walk down the promenade with Mar Aventura - an inflatable floating obstacle course on the ocean (you wear life preservers); volleyball nets and a play park from which you can hire Segways. There was so much to do that we would love to return to that town and we would certainly consider going to the same hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and make us feel welcomed and special. The food was good, the maids cleaned well every day. I think the hotel cold really be classed as a 4 *. Next time we want to swim with dolphins and hire segways to scoot along the parade with.More

an excellent hotel

It is hard to believe some of the negative reviews on this hotel. We have just returned after a week staying at the Belvedere and could not fault the hotel. The food was fantastic and the staff friendly and hard working! We were particularly impressed with the animation team - their enthusiasm was amazing. So much fun! We have 5 year old son who had an amazing time - with activities including a foam party, inflatables in the pool on some days, character visits such as Elmo and Spongebob, which our son loved! The only thing to be aware of before you travel is that you are not allowed large inflatables in the pool and there is no fridge in the rooms! More

Would not stay at this hotel ever again

I stayed at this hotel in July 2014 with my 2 year old daughter , my cousin and her boy aged 8 it was such a disappointment as I have been to salou 5 times , hated everything about it, I requested a low balcony as I gave a young child they put us on the 6th floor , deposit for safe was €50 you did not get it back and the key fits all safes in different rooms so it's not safe , rooms were tiny two double beds pushed together , for 4 people we go two towels ( clean ones every second day ) we stayed for 11nights and not one day did we get a sunbed around the pool , was so overcrowded , entertainment was terrible just the reps every second night and really bad shows on the others , food was average like any other holiday at 3stars but it was so busy u had to line up outside the restaurant waiting 30mins in the line one night with two young starving kids , most people were so rude , actually stepping over the top of my wee girl in her pram to rush past ( not the British people just the rude foreigners , only positive thing was the location wasn't to far away from anything ! Honestly I would never write a review as am not that fussy but it was so bad we spent the whole time getting taxis to my mums hotel in la Pineda . Avoid if u can honestlyMore

Elaine M,

Don't believe all the bad reviews

Have just returned from 6 nights stay at this hotel. For a 3 star hotel, it was very good. We checked in in the early hours of 21.8.14 - this was very quick. The girls were immediately given the wifi username and password - bonus! We were offered food but declined. We went immediately to our room and the 3 bedroom room although small was immaculate with shower gel, handwash and fresh towels available. The only drawback was there was no fridge - but I knew this before I travelled so was not disappointed. The next two days we went to Portaventura theme park which is about 10 mins walk away from the hotel - this is a must for all teenagers. The following few days were spent between the beach and the hotel pool. The hotel pool was small but there were always enough sun loungers available no matter what time you came down to the pool! The beach is also fantastic in Salou. We stayed half board and the food is definitely very good. At breakfast there was salads, chips, cooked breakfast, toasties, pancakes, omelettes, pastries, cereals, tea, coffee, fruit juices, hot chocolate etc etc. The evening meal was also very varied with show cookery on every night and a good selection of hot food and salads. The dessert table was brimming with a lot of choice, ice creams, fresh fruit etc. As for the staff - I could not fault any of them - they completed their work quickly and efficiently. This hotel is a very good 3 star hotel which we would return to.More
