Hotel Belvedere

A great pool and buffet restaurant makes this place stand out from the crowd. Plus, the beach is just a stroll away.

The Belvedere comes with a big main pool. It scores highly on the food front, too, with a poolside snack bar and an international buffet restaurant. At night, the bar hosts bingo and live shows.

The centre of Salou is just a 10-minute walk down the road – you’ll find a sandy beach, and a host of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s the same time to PortAventura, Spain’s number one theme park.

Standards slipped

Stayed for 10 nights, visited a couple of years ago and standards have slipped. Rooms ok with tv and english channels itv bbc.cleanliness of rooms not good balcony never touched in 10 days sheets changed once in 10 days shower gel empty for 2 days. Food was good plenty of choice meat and fish cooked while you wait, pasta also cooked to order. Trouble getting table at busy times, tables not cleared for long periods staff are miserable apart from head waiter on entrance overall lack of staff it seems. Plenty of beds available round pool.10-15mins walk to beech. Need to get staff and standards back up to a couple of years ago.More

Another fantastic year at Belvedere

Just got back from another year spent in the hotel Belvedere most of the staff are the same old faces nice polite and happy to help we had a problem with the toilet flush and hair dryer sorted same day while we were out. Food is still the same started to get a bit boring as its repeated every other night and some nights was rather cold, bloke on bar had a serious attitude problem stood ages waiting to get severed, so just walked out and didnt use the hotel bar again these two minors didnt spoil our holiday at all, our cleaner was great very friendly clean towels every day and beds made. Spent some time in the Jacuzzi and sauna after our long trips out that was pure heaven in the whole another fab holiday with so great memoriesMore

We stayed at the Belvedere last week for 7 nights. We found the Hotel adequate, but no more with more minuses than pluses unfortunately. Arriving on a Saturday night, we were greeted by a queue of people at Reception wishing to speak to the one and only Receptionist. This in itself may not be unusual however when we are referring to a 1666 room Hotel, having just the one Receptionist for most of the time we were there was deeply disadvantageous, not only for Guests but indeed the poor Receptionists who to be fair, tried to smile through thick and thin. Rooms were adequate for the rate we paid though basic was perhaps the best description. Two double beds in the room was unusual but the beds were comfortable enough. TV in room showed British channels amongst others(note - you have to ask at Reception for Remote Controls as these are not in the room - €20 deposit which is returned when the controls are returned at the end of your stay). The balcony was pleasant however on the sixth floor and facing the road hence not ideal but there you are. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towelling provided accordingly where requested. Please be aware that we found the noise coming from the streets at the weekend(Friday & Saturday nights) particularly unpleasant as although we were on the 6th floor, we could just about hear everything going on outside - perhaps a double glazed balcony door would be most beneficial to Guests. Finally, the meals were ok but very repetitive with the "same old" food dished out everyday. Yes, it was mostly fresh in the main and yes the Restaurant Staff were courteous and polite but again very much over worked which left little or no room for them to provide what i would classify as an value added quality Service. In conclusion, much praise to the Staff who invariably tried to smile through a very challenging work schedule - The Restaurant Manager & both Maria's at Reception were particularly note worthy in their attempts to deliver to their Customers. The Hotel is also a ten minute walk from the beach & a 10 minute bus ride to PortAventura(catch the mini shuttle which leaves from Plaza Europa for €3 each way) & provides free WI-Fi hence it was not all doom and gloom. Improvements are unequivocally required with regards the noise that can be heard from outside(appreciate it is an "outside" influence but double glazing would do the trick!) - Also, more than one Receptionist at one time for a Hotel of this size and a greater menu variety in order to entice Customer's back must surely be the way forward. Perhaps the best example & vindication we can provide of our disappointing stay was the fact that the "suggestion" box(or complaints, as perhaps it is best described in the UK) kept at Reception( a large box!) remained completely and utterly full from the day we arrived to the day we left, 7 days later. Whether indeed it was emptied on an ad-hoc basis or the Management just did not empty it in the week, is unknown to us however either way, it provides a tangible flavour of our experience.More

1 week in salou

belvedere hotel is 3 star but it has every thing you need.our room had 2 double beds it was cieaned when requested by hanging a notice on the door.we had ours done every 2nd day so as to get clean towels.the meals were of a high quality and something for everyone.something which was great was that on our last morning pickup for airport was 7 / 25 am.the rstaurant opened that morning at 6 / 30am. anyone with kids there is entertainment at the pool from app 10 am. if you fancy a sauna there is one but the eyecatcher was the jacuzzi that was big enough for 15 people. although we didnt stay in the hotel in the evenings there was entertainment on. the reception area is large plus there is a large bar area, a piano room which shows the football if you want it. the tv in your room can get you 2 bbc channels. all in all well worth its money and remember the resort is only 20 mins from the airport whilst in salou please visit the rose and crown bar and during the afternoon if you fancy tea and scones just visit jacks place. as a football fan PLANA buses do a trip to the camp nou home of barcelona fc. not to be missed. every aspect of the ground is open to the public except the home dressing room.the trophy room spreads over 2 floors as does the mega store. you also get 2 hours free time in barcelonaMore

Value for money

We have just returned from Salou, staying at the Belverdere for 4 nights. Hotel is very clean, fresh towels and bedding each morning. Food was good apart from the breakfasts are a little cold and the baked beans were tasteless and bland. The chef cooking fresh omelettes in the morning was great! On the Friday night it seemed as though 10 coach loads of Spanish people arrived and breakfast/dinner time was a bit of a nightmare! Didn't see much entertainment during the day and didn't stay to watch the evening. The hotel is in a perfect location, 5 mins to the sea front, shops, bars etc. Visited Barcelona Zoo using the Plana bus which was very easy to book. What I will say is this hotel is mainly aimed towards Spanish guests, so if you are looking to make friends with other families this is not the hotel to do it. We sometimes felt abit on the outside and excluded. Other than that we had a great break and our son loved it!More
