The Place For Kids!

This hotel pulls out all the stops where Kids are concerned. I travelled with my 8 year old Niece and a friend. I have stayed at the sister hotel just down the road so I knew it would be a nice hotel if it was part of the 'Golden Hotels' chain. The hotel isn't as plush looking at the other one, but it is very clean and functional. The newly refurbed rooms are ideal. The air conditioning worked really well and having a separate bedroom gave my friend some rest bite away from me and my neice. The shower was always hot and it had good pressure. The only thing I would say if i was being super critical was that there was no full length mirror. The only mirror was in the bathroom. We had a road facing room and it was noisy, but you quickly got used to it. The pool area is amazing for kids and the activity area. Thomsons have a great thing going on with entertaining the kids, they have the kids clubs for various age groups and also have the drop in sessions. There really is scope to have some adult time if you want it, provided the kids want to join in of course. Then there is the entertainment which is situated around the pool and you can choose to be as involved as you want, they don't pester you if you dont want to join in. The hotel has thought about everything you would need for kids, they even have a laundrette should you require it. The restaurant has a kids corner which has lots of choice and there was adequate choice for adults. The food didn't seem as appealing as it did in the sister hotel but I always found something to eat. The staff in general make a huge fuss of the kids and this is what makes their holiday! There are 2 hotel staff who deserve a special mention, Ana the restaurant host was superb. My neice actually looked forward to going to the restaurant just to see her. And Ingrid the lady on reception has been super helpful. We had a problem with our safe not opening and she came up to the room to understand what the problem was. Also after leaving the hotel, I discovered I had left one of my neice's treasured posessions. I swifty contacted the hotel and Ingrid had located it and kept in contact regard return. I am having it couriered to the UK. I wasn't very hopefull as it's not valuable and thought they would just throw it away, but they haven't. It's like they completely understand children. If I was travelling with kids, i wouldn't hesitate to book here. However, if you don't have kids, stay clear, the amount of kids around will drive you insane. Try the Golden Port &Spa Salou hotel instead. Much nicer! The only other negative is, if you want a sunbed you have to be up and about for 7:45am to join the comical sunbed reserve. The beach isn't far of a walk and it's nice to go there a few days. It cost 15 Euros for 2 beds and a umbrella, which hasn't changed in 3 years. The mini train is a really cheap option for getting around the resort. It cost 3.00 euros for adults and 1.50 per child. It's also a nice way to break up the day as it is a full hour journey going to Cap Salou and Port Adventura. in summary if you have kids, give it a go, if you dont, then it should be a NO!More

Great for Families

On arrival the reception staff were very helpful, they were very apologetic that our room wasn't ready until 12 noon( we arrived at 09:30). This certainly isn't a place for couples,my wife and I booked this as a late deal but we felt a bit like square pegs in round holes, we could and did use the sister hotel next door, Golden Port Salou, which was much more suited to older children and couples. This was however quite amusing watching parents getting stressed with their young ones at meal times. The food is very reasonable and the restaurant Manager, Ana was friendly and always had time for everyone. Bar staff, again all very friendly with nothing ever to much trouble for them, and also showed great appreciation when tipping them with all the bar staff saying thank-you for the tip. My only gripe is that people were queuing up at 08:00 in the morning to reserve a sunbed, very sad indeed, as the British always point fingers at other European nations hogging sunbeds, Hmmm. If you went out after 10:00 in the morning it became difficult to find a sunbed, with 95% of the beds with towels on them and not being used until late morning. More

Woodza66,

Amazing holiday

First time holiday with both my children that are both under 3!! Had an amazing 10 days an wish we went for longer!! The hotel was lovely, pools was beautiful but lack of room for the amount of people/sun beds an if you wanted a good sunbed you needed to be queuing up at the doors at silly oclock!! Staff were great but the Thomson staff an the team were fab and the entertainment team made the holiday fantastic an were amazing and made the holiday special both my children adored them and loved every minute of it all!! Were already looking at going again next July ☺️More

Lovely break

We stayed at this hotel at the end of June all booked through Thompson had read the reviews and asked for room 409 which we were given the apartment is a little bigger and has the larger balcony, the rooms were clean, food good we didn't have any problems with sun beds as we used the kiddies area although I would point out that it's not that safe as up a lot of steps where kids could easily fall down, some of the other mothers had felt the same. The entertainment was good for the kids and the kids clubs really good my two kids used the crèche which was great. If ur looking for a nice place to eat out try temple bar has good music too!!More
