Good for kids
Just coming to end of our 2 week stay here... where do I start??? Hotel itself is ok 5 floors with 2 lifts, rooms quite spacious with balconies, everything you need for self catering is provided apart from a ironing board... Cleaners came everyday apart from Sunday. Pool area quite small but the kids loved the splash pool and my son loved the small football pitch. If your wanting a sun lounger under one of the limited umbrellas you need to be waiting outside at about 9am as the pool area doesn't open til 10am. Tip: don't sit down at the tables where the entrance to pool area is because inconsiderate people just waltz down at 9:59am and stand at the front of the que that's been waiting over a hour! So if you want to be first... stand up at the top of the stairs at the entrance to the pool area before anyone else does! You can't reserve loungers before 10am... if you climb over the chain and do so, the maintenance man radios reception on this lady comes running taking up your towels ( I saw this a couple of times). We got fed up of the epic battle trying to get a umbrella for the kids round the pool so we found it best just to go to the beach down the road and by the time kids have had enough of making sand castles we would return to hotel about 2pm where people start to leave the loungers under umbrellas. No waiting about. Kids loved Eddie the entertainer they loved the mini disco and games . We love bingo too and is played every night at some stage. Food: the snacks are great but we had a couple of meals in the restaurant which wasn't the best so eating out on a night is lot better. We had the all inclusive drinks package which was great until half way through the holiday when they started only giving one drink per customer which was a nightmare trying to get 3 drinks for my 3 kids aswell as 2 for me and the mrs! Crazy rules! So we had send the kids for there own in which a couple of times they dropped them which they had to then ask for someone to mop up! This one drink per customer rule just made it horrendous to enjoy a drink on a night! Any way kids loved it so we're coming back in July! More
Family Orientated Complex
My family and I stayed here with another family for a week and our experience was very good. Staff were both friendly and helpful and the maid service was also very good with daily cleans and fresh towels supplied. The complex itself was clean and tidy and extremely well maintained. There was a good array of fun events scheduled throughout the week for all ages unfortunately we didn't experience many of these as we preferred to be out and about. The food was quite good as well however majority of people were probably eating pizza, burgers and chips et, all quick for the kids. The onsite Supermarket was also very good and very reasonable and contained anything that you might need on holidays. Although Cap Salou is in itself a quiet village resort there were many good eateries, Route 66, The Paddock and The Tropical but to name a few, all of which were competitively priced and good value for money. For those looking to buy a few gifts or mementos I would strongly advise buying these in Salou itself as it is much less expensive, with a much bigger selection, this is only my own personal experience. On the whole a very pleasant stay and would consider using SunClub Apartments again in the future as it truly is a family orientated complex that will cater for all your needs. I would advise anyone going here in the future looking to book day trips or the like to go through a local representative as opposed to your travel provider as they are much cheaper. Hopefully, this is of use any further questions or queries please don't hesitate to contact me. RegardsMore
Just back from a great week in the Sunclub. We stayed in.a one bedroom apt with 2 adults & a12 & 9yr old. Really spacious room with so much wardrobe space & great sized balcony. Really friendly reception staff & very helpful. We didn't eat.much in.the hotel as so many nice restaraunts to go to. The only disappointment was the pool was a bit shaded so you only had the sun.for half the day but gorgeous beaches close by. Such a central.hotel for Salou & Tarragona. More
Just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at sunclub... Had a ground floor accomodation, which can I say was superb.right next to the children's pool and playground. The cleanliness of the hotel and rooms was excellent and staff always happy to help with any queries...would definitely recommend. the food and drinks also were a good price and has a supermarket attached to the hotel, which was reasonably priced... Will definitely be returningMore
Wouldn't go again
Arrived at this hotel, thinking it was a lovely family resort. We paid for the all inclusive drinks band, which must be used 5 consecutive days in a row, we received a 10% discount if you take a 6th day. This was all fine, until I asked for a cup of tea at 9.59 and was refused. You can't use the band until 10am. Also you don't receive your 6 full days worth. On the 6th day it runs out at noon, so you actually get 2 hours worth of drinks 10am-noon!!!! I spoke to reception, she couldn't have cared less. I also mentioned that she never told us this when we purchased the band, she wasn't interested and very very rude. When purchasing any drink, you must go for your own. My husband asked for two cokes and was refused as I wasn't there. He explained that we have a 6 month old baby and I was feeding her, so I wasn't able to attend the bar. He was still refused, this problem continued throughout the holiday!!! If my little one was sleeping, one went for a drink and the other had to go back to the bar seconds later for their drink, absolute joke!!!! We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was awful, kids refused to finish their dinner!!! If at any point you asked for anything outside the menu or no chips the waiter had such a bad attitude. The hotel it's self was ok, your room is cleaned every 3rd day, maids are lovely. The night entertainment is ok. I felt really bad for Eddie the gentleman that runs the bingo etc. The kids are wild and parents leave them to do what they want. By the end of our holiday, he was very stressed. The noise in the room at nights is awful, chairs been pulled along the floor in the upstairs room. The language of the guests is sooo bad, i understand that people swear but it was horrendous. The little beach nearby is fantastic, the restaurant outside the hotel are sooo friendly and food is brill. Overall be warned, you are charged for everything in the hotel. Wifi is free for 30 mins then you need to pay. The safe is 30 euros for nothing honestly. Don't go here if your looking for a nice family holiday. More
