Very Good Hotel

We stayed here from 5th-12th April and unfortunately the weather was very disappointing during this week. I only used sunscreen and sunglasses for one morning during this time. We had room 1126 which was fine with good views over the harbour and beach area I presume during decent weather. There was a walk-in shower but no bath. Toiletries were supplied. Beds were comfortable. Some British TV channels were available. Tea and coffee facilities and safe and fridge with no charge. The staff were friendly and efficient. Meals were varied, well presented and enjoyable. Drinks prices were good for a hotel of this rating. All areas of the hotel were clean and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel for adults.More

Surprisingly good!

Like others we booked late deal via Thompson. This resort is a favourite of my in-laws who stay every year at the sister hotel nearby. We are aged early 50s and were expecting the worst in terms of the hotel and the resort! But we were very pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our week. We had an exec corner room on a high floor and loved the views and service. Food was fine but as the week went on it became rather bland in style. Would recommend the omelettes at breakfast! We celebrated an anniversary and the hotel kindly supplied us with a bottle of sparkling wine chilled in our room. Very nice and appreciated touch. Didn't really partake of much of the entertainment except the Flamnco dancers who were good. Drinks not too expensive and late happy hour saw generous measures! We walked all the way to Benemedena (5 hrs incl drink stops!) one day and caught ferry back, visited Mijas on the very cheap bus and also visited Malaga on the fast train. All recommended. Highlight was the Fuerengirola late night Easter parade - hundreds of participants and a must see. Delve past the English bars and there is a big Spannish community and lovely squares which come alive at night with local families eating and drinking. This was unexpected and delightful. Whilst UK OAPs were a key element, the clientele at the Florida was also far more mixed than we had feared with families and a variety of other nationalities present which was a big plus. Spa was nice and quiet when we visited. Our admittedly low expectations were well exceeded by the hotel and resort. Might we be returning as often as the in-laws?More

Had a nice week

My daughter and I have just returned from the Florida Spa. We were half board and the food was very nice. I was a bit shocked though that you had to pay for drinks with your evening meal. However we did get drinks with breakfast. Maybe because we usually go AI I just presumed you would get drinks with your evening meal even if it was just water. The beds were comfortable and the rooms adequate. Nice walk in shower and the hairdryer was ok, better than some we've visited. You get smellies too. The kettle in the room with coffee, tea etc was an added bonus and saved me taking ours. There is a little supermarket opposite the entrance to get bottled water from. Spare pillows were great and bathrobes provided. We had upgraded to a SV room which had lovely views. Didn't use the TV so can't really comment on that. Entertainment was geared more towards the older guest with ballroom dancing etc Used the spa on the last day but would have gone sooner if I'd realised that the jacuzzi was free for Thomson guests and only 10 Euros to use the rest of the spa facilities instead of 20 euros. Had a lovely facial massage for 20 euros too. Also free WIFI for the week, get a code from reception. We went to the Miramar shopping center which had a Primark, Guess, KFC, Mango, Zara, Adidas, Rich, Blanc, Subway, swarovski as well as many other shops. (worth a visit on a rainy day). You can get a bus there for 1 euro 30. Very central, lots of lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when we were there but we had a lovely time.More

FIRST EVER VISIT.

We stayed here 8th-15th March for our first-ever visit to the Costa del Sol. Weather was very good and as previous reviewers have said the hotel is in a good position. Hotel could do with a bit of a refurb in certain areas (e.g. restaurant). The majority of the staff are very good and cheerful and if you stay in the hotel for the evening the barman is a comedy act in himself! Maria, the restaurant manager and most of the waitresses are very helpful, especially with the older clients. There are one or two however, who could look happier in their work. We found the food to be very good, the only niggle was we didn't find as much variety in bread choices as we have in other four star hotels we have stayed in. Also we found the crackers for cheese with the evening meal were always broken, never whole. Would we stay here again? Yes we would.More

Beautiful view

We were given a double room on the first floor with a balcony facing the sea. Unfortunately the room was a little small, and because we were on the first floor we could hear the evening entertainment and wasn't able to get an early night when we wanted to; also with the shower having curtains rather than doors water got everywhere. In terms of food, it wasn't as authentic as hoped. However, the view from our room was beautiful, with the hotel being situated in a great, convenient location and all the staff were lovely people, always willing to help. I would recommend staying here as the overall experience was great.More
