Once again a very special week at the Florida Spa. The weekend we were a party of 12 and 6 of us for a full week. Everyone enjoyed themselves, the staff as before as very helpful and very pleasant. The rooms are clean and finally have to say breakfast is superb value for money.
Just booked again for October 2016 and really looking forward to another stayMore

I spent a week here at the start of December. It was an early Christmas present for my 76 year old mother. The hotel is near the beach. Easy access to shops restaurants etc. The bus and train station are only a 5 minute walk away. The food was nice, the restaurant staff helpful and friendly. Our room was nice and cleaned daily. I would go back to the hotel. Unfortunately we used Viajis urbis for our airport transfer. 2 days before our departure we received a fax asking to wait on the promenade on the day of departure. As we don't speak Spanish I asked at reception if they could phone to say my mum wouldn't be able to do that as she has mobility problems (she had hired a mobility scooter) After a brief conversation with urbis the receptionist told me I had booked shuttle not a private private transfer. Another member of reception added it wasn't their problem. Obviously this created anxiety as I couldn't help my mum and take our luggage to the promenade. I was looking into booking a private taxi when another holiday maker offered to get up early and assist us. Be careful who you use for transfers and don't expect help from some members of reception staff.More
Another wonderful stay at the Florida
We have just returned from the Florida hotel. After a very stressful delay at Manchester airport (9 hours) we were supposed to arrive at 9.00 p.m., we actually checked in at 6.00 a.m.! We requested a high room which we have always requested on previous visits and we were duly accommodated. We were also upgraded to a superior room on the 9th floor which was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Thank you so much.
I cannot understand why certain guests have such an axe to grind regarding the food at this hotel, believe me the food quality is excellent compared to some hotels I have stayed in over the many years of travelling abroad, so please give it a rest. The food is always hot and the plates (too hot to handle!). The salad choice is excellent and the breakfast choice is great.
As always the staff were pleasant and helpful. The entertainment in the evenings is a bit hit and miss but I must give a mention to the Il Divo tribute, they were wonderful as were the ballet dancers on the same evening. I really missed seeing the Flamenco dancers this time but they overlapped with our time there.
I can recommend going into the lower ground floor room on a Wednesday and Saturday where there is a Spanish live duo playing Spanish dance music and all the local Spanish come to dance the night away. Really enjoyable.
The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas and the pool area is also kept clean and tidy. I agree the pool is not very big but there is a beautiful beach a few steps away and the lovely sea to swim in. We go on the beach every day.
Fuengirola is a lovely town and in easy reach from the Florida.
We were lucky to be there on St Juan night (John the Baptist) when families and young people come out and dance and have picnics on the sand, it is to symbolise the first official day of going on the beach. There was the most wonderful fireworks display at midnight. The Spanish love their festivals.
Thank you Hotel Florida for another wonderful holiday and hope to be back again very soon.More
Lovely Hotel with great food and staff
We had never stayed in this area before, so booked a week at this hotel after a one week Thomson Spirit Cruise which sailed from nearby Malaga. We have never been disappointed with Thomson's Platinum hotels and this hotel did not let us down. When we arrived we were given a room on the Fourth Floor that overlooked the swimming pool, we knew we had a balcony room but had hoped for a sea view room anyway the room was a lovely room with a free safe and fridge, after sleeping in the room for one night I enquired at reception if I could change to a sea view room and as the hotel was not fully booked were given a lovely sea view room on the 9th Floor for which I paid an extra 6 Euros per night (well worth it). The food was really good breakfast and evening meal were self serve buffet style with a great and varied selection. We did not see all the evening entertainment acts, but what we did see was of a really good standard. Most nights you had 2 separate acts, the El Divo tribute group were amazing and was followed by a brilliant Ballet show, the Flamenco dancers were really good as were the few musical artists that we saw. The hotel runs a few happy hours buy one get one free, example 2 large Bacardi and Cokes for 6 Euros, one runs when the acts are on 8-30 till 10, and this makes for a cheap and enjoyable evening. Spent a bit time sunning round the pool and found getting a sun bed no problem! This may be a little harder in the peak season, Thomson clients were also offered free use of the indoor pool and spa.We really enjoyed our week at this hotel and it would be hard to find anything to complain about here.More

Nice break, pleasant hotel
We have just returned from a weeks break here, pleasant hotel, clean and the small problem we had with the shower was rectified quickly so no complaint.
Food ok, but could be better, sorry to say that if there hadn't been a roast meat and chips each night I would have dined out, other choices of meat/fish and potatoe choice were not for me.
Happy hour in the bar was good value, otherwise drinks would have worked out expensive. Entertainment was ok but 3 singing acts were much the same so became repetitive, the three tenor act was brilliant though as was the magician.
Would we stay again, hotel wise maybe but not Fuengirola, lovely beach bars with great seafood for lunches but a one off stay for us.More
