Arrived at the same time as another transfer bus. Only one lady on reception but got the room key straight away. Went up to find the room was not ready. Housekeeper said five minutes we waited ready in two. I asked for a higher floor and got one thanks Florida. The room was nice with a balcony and wall mounted television, we did lose the signal a bit the room also had wifi and tea making facilities with a fridge. The bathroom was a shower a good one at that very happy with the accomodation. The hotel food was good something for everyone buffet service. We usually had the soup, i would always have a fish course then a choice of a roast or salad endless deserts or cheese to choose from. The wine list was well priced we found the house rioja excellent it was 9euro a bot its called Altarivs thank me later. The location of the hotel is only a short walk from the harbour easy walk to the bus and train stations. So location is very good. Evening entertainment was provided but we tended to retire early. The clientele was mixed German,French and Brits. I read posts that all residents are old and some ignorant. That cannot be further from the truth we met some really nice people. I had only one gripe in the restraunt and it wasnt about the cooking it was how it was presented for service. I am talking about the 6 gravy/sauce containers at the end of the hot buffet they didnt identify what was in them. I brought this to the attention of Martial the Maitre De as constructive feedback. Other residents thought it was a good feedback. Be interesting to see if anything changes i know someone going next month. Overhaul we enjoyed our stay and thank all staff making it so.More
Beautiful area to stay, hotel was very well maintained, very clean. Staff where very friendly and helpful. spa is a nice feature. Outdoor pool is heated. Hotel is situated between beach and town so plenty to do! Will definitely go back again. The beach view rooms do give you a beautiful view of the harbour but it only gets the sun till 2pm so if your anything like us we like to go out till late afternoon then enjoy the evening sun on balcony so best to pick poolside on high levels if that's what you like, also worth looking at is the room upgrade you may be offered when booking, we paid £18 when we booked and realised it gave us a late departure on our room which was fab because our departure wasn't till 4.50pm and to Book it at hotel it would cost 30â¬. Love this Hotel
This is our fourth visit to Hotel Florida Spa. The rooms are very clean, as is the whole place. The staff are friendly and welcome returners like long lost friends. The food is tasty, plentiful and very varied. We can not really find fault with this hotel. I guess the only wee down side is the swimming pool which is on the roof of the reception area, so not huge. It can get windy on this corner, but apart from that its great. I believe the hotel has an arrangement with one of the beach bed/parasol areas for cheaper rental prices. There are two sister hotels nearby, Angela and Yaramah and we understand (but have never wanted to do so) go for a meal at one of the sister hotels during your stay. At the moment the usual entertainment area is being tarted up but there is a downstairs entertainment area that is being used, so business as usual. There is also a basement small inside swimming pool and Jacuzzi pool which is you book through Thomson is free but if you book through the hotel we believe you have to pay Euro 10 for. We don't feel this hotel is suitable for children as there is nothing for them, its more for adults. The room safes, wi fi, fridges and kettles are free (included in the price really) so no surprise costs as you book in. We love this place.More
I'll be back!!!!!
What a superb hotel, everything that is written on trip advisor putting this hotel in the top two are true. The food is excellent, plenty of choice and lots of it. Room is all that we could expect, tea and coffee making facilities, free fridge, free safe, comfy beds, love this place. Entertainment every night, great acts, great music, all that you could ask for and more in a holiday hotel. Well done all who contributed to a great stay, from reception, through bar and restaurant and including housekeeping, all have gone a long way to making this my all time favourite hotel. In the words of Arnie, "I'll be back"!More

Another very enjoyable stay at our favourite Costa Del Sol hotel. We have become accustomed to the high level of service provide by all stall in all departments. In particular the restaurant manager who although always busy found time for you. The room on the 10th floor over looking the pool had sun on the balcony every afternoon. The bathroom had a great walkin shower. Even though Thomson's will not be flying from Newcastle next January we still intend to return to the Florida by booking direct.More
