Just back from a very enjoyable & sunny week at the Florida Spa , it was our 1st visit and hopefully wont be our last .
Reception - Our check in was very efficient and we were made to made to feel very welcome - I had requested prior to arrival a room if possible that received afternoon sun,& this was arranged thank you.
Bedrooms - our superior room was very comfortable and spacious and cleaned to a high standard with linen changes when requested and toiletries replaced as necessary, rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities which are replenished daily, free use of safe and small fridge.
Although we don't go on holiday to watch TV , the TV has several English channels , ideal to pass an hour if the weather is inclement at this time of the year..
Pool area - quite small but sun loungers /parasols always available no matter what time of day you needed one , the pool snack bar has a happy hour ( as do other areas in the hotel ) and snacks are very tasty especially the Florida Special !!.
Restaurant - The food choice was excellent , well prepared and hot ! Carvery each evening and the chefs were always on hand to provide any special requests. Really loved the Gala evening when the restaurant staff dressed for the occasion. and a special mention to restaurant manager Maria and staff who were very efficient and friendly and welcomed you as though you were old friends .
A special touch was a birthday card & cake provided for both my husband and I on our birthdays (we didn't tell the hotel but they must have noticed dates on our passports ! )
Overall view - A friendly hotel with extremely pleasant staff in all areas who always take time to say Hola , good food , clean , comfortable , and a very good location for nearby shops ,supermarkets and bars.
All ready looking to book for next year !!!More

Overall 8 out of 10 again
My wife and I have recently spent 2 weeks half board at this hotel. We last stayed there in 2011. Our review at that time gave it an overall score of 8 out of 10 and, fundamentally, we have no reason to change that rating this time.
On this occasion, however, we did pay extra for a superior room. The superior rooms are those whose numbers end in 16 (on the front corner) and 02 (on the back corner) - see the floor plan attached. We had room 702.
For the record, for the extra £ £15 to £20 a night we got a much larger room and en suite than the standard room, an armchair as well as the usual hard chairs, wine and water on arrival, bathrobes and slippers, a separate bath (with shower over) plus a walk in shower and an evening turn down service.
Note that a superior room does not guarantee you a superior view but it does guarantee you a room on the pool side which gets the sun for most of the day (particularly important in the cooler months) and some lovely sunsets.
A few miscellaneous points.
I flagged up the inconsistent room servicing last time and itâs disappointing to see that nothing at all has changed. At best this aspect is average. Even the nightly turn down service varied considerably. On some days the person doing it tidied up the room and bed, emptied the bin, cleaned the basin, replaced towels and left a biscuit on the pillow. On other days they basically just put the biscuit on the pillow. I have a question for the person from the hotel who responds to these reviews. Why do the chambermaids remove the bar of soap you are using but NEVER replace it with a new one? This happened every single day and it does not make sense. Iâm not sure why room servicing is a problem area for the hotel but it is and they could and should do better.
The free safe in our room was massive. Its internal dimensions were approximately 14 inches deep and 11 inches wide. It would swallow most laptop and tablet computers. Obviously, I canât guarantee that every room has the same model.
The wall mounted flat screen TV was small â approximately 19 inches screen size. Although there were plenty of English speaking channels (including BBC 1 and 2, ITV and channel 4), the picture quality was very low definition and the signal patchy. To be frank, it all looked very old fashioned these days and itâs about time the hotel considered upgrading this aspect.
The biggest issue for prospective guests to consider is whether you want a sea view or not. If you do, you either need to be on the sea facing side (but in the cooler months it is likely to be too cold to sit on the balcony as the sun is gone by about 11am) or on floors 8 to 12 on the pool side. Even if you have a superior room you have less than 50% chance of getting a sea view from the balcony! This is because the hotel is substantially surrounded on the pool side by 6 story buildings. From floor 7 we had a sliver of a harbour/sea view between some of those buildings - see picture.
Iâm pleased to see that Fuengirola generally appears to be on the âupâ after a few years when the economic problems in Spain we very evident in the condition of the town. Of course, this means there is a lot of infrastructure type work taking place. Recent reviewers have commented, for example, on the roadworks taking place along the whole length of the road the hotel is located on. Iâm pleased to report they have now been completed.More

Great November break
Got back on 15th Nov., after a one week stay. Was my first time at this hotel and it certainly will not be my last. Room clean, comfortable and well equipped. Although it was a side room the view from my 9th floor balcony was great. Plus it really got the sun, of which there was plenty considering the time of year. Food was varied and tasty. Staff helpful and friendly. Entertainment was what you would expect from a hotel that mainly caters for the Brits.. I love that area and have only 'self catered' previously. Now I will always go back to the Florida Spa when holidaying in Fuengirola.More
