Florida Spa Fuengirola
Stayed for one week on half board basis out of season, room was pleasant, clean, of a good size and as described. Good location 100 yds from seafront. Staff were pleasant and helpful with the possible exception of some of the waitresses who were surly and never there when you needed them. Room/area very quiet, whether this remains so in season I do not know. If you are expecting any experience of Spanish food this is not the place for you. Breakfast was treaditional English, in fact probably the most authentic English breakfast I have had outside England! Baked beans, fried bread if you wanted even HP sauce in square glass bottles! Also fruit, cereal, porridge and the normal stuff. Evening meal was roast dinner, fish and chips etc etc with the odd paella or pasta dish thrown in. Starter course was a basic choice of salads, cheese, bread, fish salads etc and desert was pastries plus a selection of British classics, apple pie and custard, tinned peaches and pears, rice pudding, ice cream etc. This hotel is what it is and I am sure it suits the vast majority of guests who are British retirees enjoying some winter sun.More

Great Hotel but watch out if you fly with Thomson
Recently returned from 2 week stay. Hotel staff and facilities as ever were excellent. This was our 5th visit. Florida is a Thomson platinum hotel Word of caution though, we flew out on a Thomson package, everything great EXCEPT for the hand baggage allowance. On both outward an inbound flights, the check in staff were adamant that the allowance was only 5 kilos. Fortunately since I had experienced the same problem last year ( i.e Platinum hotel guests have a 7kg allowance) I had taken a copy of the brochure. Eventually they conceded that we did have a 7kg allowance. Fortunately I was able to help another couple in the another queue who were on the brink of shelling out 64 euro for 2 kilos which was actually part of their allowance.. Contacted Thomson customer services and again they stated it was only 5 kg but conceded it was 7kg after pointing it out to them. Makes you wonder how many customers Thomson have over chargedMore

Ticks every box
We have just returned after our 7th visit to this fabulous Hotel. We thank each and everyone of the amazing staff for a fantastic Christmas. Maria the restaurant manager genuinely loves people and her team of girls are always smiling and helpful. The food is delicious and we had to keep complimenting the chefs. Such a lovely welcome from all reception staff ,who never fail to recognise us. Antonio who heads the bar staff is fantastic and creates an amazing atmosphere that's what it is about this Hotel they care about there guests. We love the Spanish culture and enjoy Tuesday's and Saturday's dancing downstairs Amador. Well done Florida Spa we are back on the 23rd jan for 8 weeks of luxury . Linda and BernardMore

Hotel Florida Spa, Fuengirola, Spain
We booked at fairly short notice to spend ten nights at this hotel in November. The prices were very reasonable and included flights, transfers, bed, breakfast and dinner in a beautiful room with a balcony, flat screen TV showing British programmes, and there was evening entertainment and even free Spanish lessons! The food was buffet style and excellent, lots of lovely fresh fruit and salads, along with a large variety of main dishes. At breakfast there was the usual range of cooked dishes, together with breads, cheeses, hams etc and naughty but nice sweet pastries. The room attendants left our room immaculate each day and the restaurant staff were marvellous, the servers, the chefs and most of all the lovely Maria, restaurant manager. The hotel is situated only a moment away from a beautiful long promenade and close to buses and trains. We can hardly wait to go again!!More

This was our first visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and helpful they will do anything for you to make your stay perfect. We were allocated a room on the 7th floor overlooking The Marina what a view. I believe this hotel is in the best location. The rooms were lovely. Free tea/coffee, free safe, free toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb etc. The food was excellent with so many choices thats not a bad thing but spoilt for choice. We spoke to the chefs and they were trying out different menus, but always welcome any comments about the food. We could not fault anything. The food was always hot as in some hotels it is only luke warm. We only saw the lovely Maria for one night as she was going on holiday. If there you must go and see the Christmas lights in the town, they are much better than in England. I would recommend this hotel and we hope to return next. Well done a pleasure to have stayed there. If you need any more information I would be happy to help.More
