Great hotel

We stayed here for a short break in November last year, it was our first time to Fuengirola and we definitely made the right choice by staying at the Florida Spa. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel and our room was very clean and the food was excellent with a good choice every day. The Florida Spa is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach, marina and bars and restaurants. We would highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.More

Well worth a visit

My husband and I have just returned from a 7 night stay in the Florida Spa Hotel. We were on the 12th floor (room 1208). Amazing partial view of sea, marina and surrounding town. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels . Shower very powerful. Free safe situated in wardrobe. Also fridge, kettle, hairdryer and tv. Plenty of choice at breakfast time and dinner. Food was always hot. Even the chef said if we required anything cooking special to just let him know. Entertainment every night was good. All staff very friendly polite and efficient couldn't be more helpful. Swimming pool had steps to get in and out (like the swimming baths) should have steps that gradually go into pool as was hard to get in and out. Only downside was that the toilet kept flushing on its own which frightened the life out of you especially during the night. Would definitely return again.More

Jayne J,

Plush Hotel

We stayed full board with wine and water. All fine except the lunch aspect was not managed by the hotel as the food in the restaurant was very poor as there were few takers at this time. Also because we had the special rate, waiting staff were unaware and tried to get payment. Embarrassing. Not their fault, but management not informing them or differentiating us from other guests. Rather bizarre that kitchen staff were taking food from the restaurant for themselves and going off to eat it. I am sure they were entitled to it but I have not seen this before when guests were using the restaurant. The entertainment was brilliant. El Divo, ballet, flamingo dancers, singers. Really enjoyed it and the atmosphere among the guests during these evenings. The animation lady, Alex, was a superb instructor when I attended her pilates lessons. Thanks. Rose, in charge of the pool bar, lovely lady and very accommodating. Reception staff, very helpful. Room - we had a superior room, very good, large shower and separate bath, comfortable beds. Side sea view. Downside - pool too small. Very noisy at night. Not the hotel's fault as it was all outside.More

Another enjoyable stay at a great hotel.

We have just returned from a ten night stay at the Florida Spa Hotel - this was our second visit to the hotel. Full marks to The Manager and all of his/her staff again who made our stay very enjoyable. The restaurant buffet is varied and plentiful and with enough choice to suit all tastes, The restaurant manager, Marical, was extremely friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome. We had a room overlooking the pool on the tenth floor which is great if you want the afternoon and early evening sun which suited us. The entertainment, on the whole, was extremely enjoyable with just a couple of exceptions - the female and male soloist singers were very poor and were really nothing more than Karaoke singers. The Il Divo tribute act were extremely enjoyable. Particularly enjoyable for us was the Canaveral Bar downstairs on a Saturday evening where all the Spanish locals gather for a typical Spanish knees up - great to watch and participate !!! Happy hour another great feature between 8.30 and 10.00 p.m. every night. Only one small criticism this year is that there were a few golfers in the hotel who sit around the bar at night surrounded by their discarded golfing bags and think nothing of braying and guffawing whilst the evening's entertainment is underway. Not what other guests want to listen to whilst trying to enjoy the entertainment. Unfortunately, the Florida appears to be on the radar of the British Golfing fraternity so we are hoping that this is not a sign of things to come it would spoil our holiday. We would definitely return to the hotel - the location is great. Unfortunately, during our ten night stay, we did suffer from extremely bad weather which is unusual for this time of year.More

Disappointing Stay

We arrived at the hotel quite late in the evening and decided to have room service which I was told finished at 10.30, it was 10,40 when I phoned surely someone was left in the kitchen who could make a sandwich !! Our room was the same one as we had the previous year, very good view, but last time we were there I had complained about what looked like a blood stain on the bed base, a year later and it was still there!! I complained again to reception and nothing was done during our stay!!! The top shower did not work and looked clogged up with scum. My friend accidently spilled make up on the sheet the first day we were there, the sheets were not changed for clean ones!! The wood at the bottom of the fridge had broken away. I wonder does a member of management ever inspect the rooms?? This hotel is in need of refurbishment if it wants to live up to it's 4 star rating.More
