Couples hotel, no kids, woohoooooooo

Excellent hotel in an excellent location with immediate access to the promenade through a gate opened with your room card. The standard of the room was very good with everything you needed included, including air conditioning. We had a room on the 5th floor on the sunny side (view towards Fuengirola, not the pool), I would recommend asking for a higher floor before you arrive to get the best views whichever side you choose. The food was very good and there is the option of going into the restaurant once per week at no extra cost. It's nice sometimes to be served rather than buffet every day. There is entertainment every night which seemed popular but didn't really float my boat. This is the first visit to this hotel but the 4th to the resort at this time of year and it's very likely that I'll be back to both next year.More

Excellent Hotel

Our second visit to the Riviera was as enjoyable as the first. Excellent on all fronts, The staff are friendly, efficient and professional. We remembered many of them from last year. Food was even better than last year. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, our chamber maids were lovely. We have no hesitation in recommending the Riviera. Reception staff are very helpful and pleasant.More

Experiance. Not to be repeated.

I would not recommend this hotel to people who are looking for fun. I was put into a very depressing room and nobody was interested in helping me .I was under the impression I had paid for a superior room, did the silly thing of booking online? I am 77 and consider myself reasonably intelligent ? I paid £1084.04 to Thomson as a single person. It turned out I had paid for a double room with a balcony. When I asked to be moved I was told it was not possible. The Thomson rep. Gary was of no help and I felt very miserable as the room overlooked the road and my view of the sea was minimal. Room 211. After a week I spoke to the Manager of the hotel and was moved straight away. Just proves nothing is as reception said "impossible." Why didn't the Thomson Rep help me? In my opinion he is too wrapped up in his GOOD REPORTS. I tried to explain to him that I had lost £400 odd pound and he just shrugged his shoulders. I said I felt as if I might as well have put the money in an ashtray and set light to it. Anyway the food was good and restaurant staff excellent and my room was kept clean by good Spanish women. The Manager has been there 30years and I feel I would have been happier in another hotel maybe? Why do Brits. think we can go to Spain or any foreign country and have a little piece of their land and make it British? I go on holiday to have fun and mainly for the weather. I was lucky and the sunshine was great. Would be interested to know if anyone else has similar feelings? Cindy More

Lived up to expectations

This 'couples' hotel could not be faulted. No screaming kids & yes in November mainly older clientele, but we are the lucky ones with time to spare off season. Varied entertainment in main lounge but an adjacent lounge for a quiet drink if need be. Clean, well run & peaceful. Spacious sunbathing areas with lots of beds & very few 'bed grabbers' even mid afternoon we always managed to find beds in the sun, luckily weather was hot & sunny for most of our stay. We don't normally have buffet meals but the food here both breakfast & dinner was well cooked, hot, varied, imaginative and always well stocked. Tapas corner, show food station & option of one night a la carte raised the level of catering. Absolutely no complaints & we all like our food! Rooms are modern, functional & spacious we had 807 which has fantastic views over sea & facing Fuengirola so plenty of afternoon sun. Only tiny grumble is that Wi-Fi does not seem to stretch to this far corner of building, but a small price to pay for the view. Large well lit bathroom with magnifying mirror & really powerful hairdryer. Our friends had single rooms which were larger than some doubles in other places. Really good location for promenade, shopping & marina in strolling distance & plenty of other places to visit easily by local bus, train, tour or taxi. Lastly ALL staff in ALL areas are efficient & friendly and I would like to give a special thank you to David (reception) & Gary (Thomson rep) for their assistance when our friend had his wallet stolen at Malaga airport. An excellent value for money hotel I would have no hesitation in returning to.More
