Superb hotel

Just on the last 2 days of an eleven night stay at this hotel. We were last in Benalmadena in 1996 and gosh how the place has changed..for the better in the main. The marina is stunning and this hotel is so well sited for walking on the promenade to both the marina and the paloma park area. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room is large and airy and kept clean like the rest of the hotel. Pool is small but well thought out, being shallow all the way round the edges and deeper in the centre, ideal for those not so confident swimmers. The entertainment is the usual holiday fare, with a decent quiz most nights where you can win an hour in the spa or sangria. The food is decent with enough variety for most tastes and the usual show cooking area as well as a tapas corner. All rooms have a view of the sea, some on the pool side and others overlook the street. Some have complained that there are only 2 lifts, we were never kept waiting too long and the lift to the beach level was a godsend! We would definitely stay again.More

Good with some flaws

Just returned from spending 11 nights at the Riviera, this hotel is conveniently situated above the promenade and beach, it has a lift that takes you down which is a real bonus. The hotel itself is comfortable and kept spotlessly clean, the rooms are a good size with huge comfortable beds, good sized bathroom with 2 sinks shower toilet and a bidet, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion are supplied, tea and coffee making facilities are also in the rooms but you do have to pay for the safe and fridge if needed. The hotel is half board basis and although there is a good selection of good quality food the downside for us and also others we spoke to was that apart from the freshly cooked omelettes and pancakes at breakfast all the other food that was meant to be hot both at breakfast and dinner is barely Luke warm, they do have a microwave but be warned that fried eggs to not microwave well, some of the food was not hot when brought straight from the kitchen. I am sure with a little more thought such as covers on the food or being temperature probed at intervals this could be rectified. The hotel pool is very nice and is kept nice and clean but even though the weather was hot the pool itself is freezing and was very disappointed not to be able to swim, the usual happens in this hotel that many of the guests sneak out and put towels on the beds early in the morning and them not using them till later in the day. The sun beds themselves are not very comfortable as the have no mattresses on them. But you can hire really good thick beds and umbrellas on the beach which are 9 Euros for 2. We would not go back to this hotel purely because of the food and pool but if does'nt worry you then otherwise the hotel is nice. One last mention the clientele are mainly all English and the staff are very pleasant.More

great stay

Fab hotel, friendly staff, lovely food. The rooms are large and very clean. The area is very nice, lots of bar and restaurants. The prom is a nice walk in either direction. The pool is smallish but fine for the number of people using it. The entertainment is good but as this is an adult only hotel it was tailored to the older age group. We had a side room with a great view on the top floor.More

Great hotel and location!

Just back from a week in this hotel and was very impressed. The hotel was in a great location, food and staff were excellent. Hotel very clean and rooms cleaned every day. The only thing I would like to see would be a bit of colour inside the hotel as all the corridors etc. were painted a very bland grey!More

Very relaxing couples only hotel

We spent a week here in July 2015 and had a very relaxing time. We have 3 grown-up children and when they were younger had many great holidays, but they were never particularly relaxing. It was really nice to come to a hotel and spend time around the pool, the bar and the restaurant without the usual noise, hustle and bustle that comes with having youngsters around. The room was a good size, nice and clean the hotel appeared to have been refurbished in the last few years. The range and quality of food were both excellent with a nice little bar area near the outside pool where you could eat and order drinks. Whilst there were plenty of places to eat locally, we ended up having all our meals in the hotel as we were impressed with the choice and quality. Definitely to be recommended if you're looking for a relaxing getaway.More
