Holiday 2014

Well I haven't been to Spain since 1994 and was very pleased for November the weather was warm the hotel was clean and plenty of food at breakfast and in the evening if you didn't enjoy it then really you were in the wrong hotel we didn't find anything wrong staff worked long hours but were always happy and helpful probably entertainment not to everyone's taste but plenty to do round about would go againMore

First visit will not be the last!

This hotel was booked for my husbands's Birthday by our daughter. It was our first time on Costa del Sol. The hotel was fantastic. The food was excellent breakfast & dinner. There was a section with about 20 different Tapas - I could have dined on those alone. Sweets were delightful, hubby had the rice pudding every night it was on. Our night in the a la carte which was available to all guests once a week was excellent. All staff from reception to dining room to bedrooms were excellent. The bar staff were quick and friendly. Zoe and her helper were great at getting every body involved. Nightly entertainment was excellent. We will certainly be back again soon. The beds were superb. Excellent locationMore

Hotel Riviera!!! More like hotel no hope!!!

Just got back from a week at the Hotel Riviera Benalmadena 25th November 14. The plus point of our trip was the weather! you can risk a holiday to the Costa Del Sol in late November and get good weather as it was 24 degrees everyday. Down side of the holiday was the 4 star rated Hotel Riviera. I stayed at the Riviera 10 years ago with my children and thought a return to Benalmadena would be a good idea. The outside of the hotel had been painted grey to match the rooms. The bed was comfy and the room cleaned daily. Every now and then you would receive a smile or two from the staff but as they work long hours it's only to be expected. The food served at the hotel was desperately basic considering it is a 4 star hotel. It consisted of beef stew that was more gristle than meat, chicken in white sauce, potatoes that should have been cooked longer and very wet boiled rice this was served everyday. The desert was also lacking it consisted of 3 different ice creams and and 3 Gateaus that were also served everyday. I complained about the choice of food to the Thomson rep who said she would keep an eye on it but never did. This is not a four star hotel regardless of what the holiday brochures or Thomson tell you. We had a few problems in our room and asked for them to be sorted out yet maintenance never came to sort them out. Be aware of the A La Carte restaurant at the hotel my wife found strands of metal in her soup! When we complained the waitress said it was from scouring pads. Do not pay for A La Carte it is more like A La boil in the bag. There are a few cafe's across the road who supply reasonably cheap meals go and check them. Very poor Holiday for me and my family, won't be going back.More

Best Location in Benalmadena.

This Hotel has had a complete make over 2013. 4*. is so nice, ticks all the boxes.Adults only.Rooms are V/G. Staff so nice and helpful. I travelled on my own,and got room 115.Big bed and Flat screen T/V. However dont expect English Channels This is due to a dispute with U/K and Spain. This is all over Mainland Spain. (Could be Sky) Bus stop is right out side of Hotel.Good Shows on most nites.Tributes. El Divo Jersey Boys.Try to get a room facing Fuingarola, this has sun all day.Plenty of Sun loungers by the pool.Special mention to Maitre D.Ricardo and servers.Only one small point is the Al la Carte Restuarant. You are allowed to go once a week.I am not a fussy eater, but was a bit dissapointed with the Sea Bass.Much prefer the main restuarant. However that said,It would not indeed put me off going again. Also wheelchair freindly.More
