Guide to Playa De Pals

"Lie on a long sandy beach, snorkel in idyllic, blue-watered coves, play golf and explore charming medieval villages – pine-fringed Playa de Pals has it all on a plate."

A long sandy beach fringed by rugged cliffs, fragrant pines and bright-blue seas. Constant Spanish sun warming your skin as you daydream the hours away. And the luscious, smoky aroma of char-grilled fresh sardines beckoning you into a lingering lunch at a nearby beach restaurant. Wish you were here? Well, the place is Playa de Pals, Costa Brava. The mood, happy-go-lucky. Sounds good huh? Hugging a splendid stretch of gentle, pine-blanketed hills, Playa de Pals' beach extends for two miles, so there's always a quiet spot waiting. Better still, towards the southern end, you'll find relaxed restaurants and bars, so you're never far from an ice-cold 'cerveza' or mouth-watering 'tortilla'. And if you tire of the scenery, romantic cliff top paths lead you to sleepy, close-by coves offering excellent snorkelling. Alternatively, leave the beach for a bit, and walk to the 13th century castle on Montgri Mountain or potter around Pals' pottery shops for mementoes. When you're not lounging around, why not really get under the skin of the Costa Brava? Close by, the rolling landscapes come scattered with charming towns that are well worth your time. Discover Pals and Peratallada, with their tightly knotted medieval alleys and stone houses hiding enchanting museums, shops and restaurants. Or head for the lovely ceramics town of La Bisbal. Finally, don't miss the chance to get active. Learn to scuba dive at a local school, go horse riding in the hills or surrender to the call of the six nearby golf courses. Whatever you do, this enchanting corner of Spain will capture your interest and imagination.
