Monte Verde Villas

in Javea , Costa Blanca

Saturday arrivals
Nestled into manicured gardens and surrounded by greenery, Kiwi Villa and Pina Villa are about as far from the madding crowd as it gets.
These sugarcube-style villas have got relaxation written all over them. Set on the edge of Javea, Kiwi Villa and Pina Villa are far enough from the centre of town to be peaceful, but close enough to the action not to feel isolated. When you want to get out and about, meanwhile, there’s a supermarket and a handful of restaurants about a 15-minute walk away. Plus, you’re just a ten-minute drive from the heart of Javea.

Location aside, it’s the views that are the real talking point here. Pine-stacked hills and mature gardens stretch off in every direction.

As for the properties themselves, they’re dotted among manicured lawns and towering trees as part of a cluster of villas. Each one comes with its own good-sized swimming pool, sun terrace and barbecue area, so privacy and tranquillity are guaranteed.

Step inside, meanwhile, and whitewashed walls, tiled floors and traditional wooden furniture come as standard. And with two bedrooms per villa – one double and one twin – as well as a bathroom and an en suite shower, you’ve got plenty of space. Lastly, well-equipped kitchenettes come complete with a dishwasher and microwave, so you’re well set-up for self-catering.

Your guide to Javea, Costa Blanca

Holidays to Javea take you to sandy coves and warm blue waters, then add on Spanish tapas and fantastic mountain views.

The port town of Javea sits in the shadow of Montgo Mountain between Valencia and Alicante. This little haven along Spain’s Costa Blanca boasts an old town area where the Medieval church is the centrepiece and shops, cafés and restaurants work their way along the cobbled streets. Meanwhile, nightlife is set to the rhythm of Spanish and international bands, and the local beaches wave their Blue Flags. Along its coastline, Javea has 2 stand-out Blue Flag beaches. La Grava, a pebbly number loved by the locals, is lined by tapas restaurants along the promenade. The boardwalk stretches for 3 kilometres south to Arenal Bay. This is a lovely sandy spot with water that stays shallow a long way out. There are pedalos to hire and lots of bars and restaurants on hand. Arenal, Javea’s old town, is where the nightlife kicks in – often in the form of a late restaurant meal and live flamenco. Many of the restaurants offer tapas, sangria and cocktails, and summertime beach bars spring up along the seafront between Arenal and the port area. Three nightclubs along Arenal Beach play disco, house and techno from midnight to dawn. The mountaintop fortress of Guadalest makes a great daytrip from Javea. You’ll need a car for the 40-minute drive up the steep winding roads, as you take in the views. A whitewashed bell tower hugs the mountainside, then a rock-carved tunnel takes you through to a stunning old village and castle. The view from the top looks down on to a glistening turquoise reservoir.
