Rooms with 'no view'
Stayed here for a week June. When we checked in we were given room 414. We asked to upgrade to a sea view room but were told none were available. I was astonished that they would sell this room and say it had a view. When we opened the drapes we were looking at a block wall (see pictures) We were disgusted after paying our money for this. You could see some of the back car park and the street from a sideways view. This balcony never has the sun shine on it. There is no light on the balcony so at night even if you wanted to read there is no way you can. The grabbers are down from early morning putting towels on the sunbeds and then shag off for the day. The pool was also being used by the patrons of the next door bar when the got a little overheated from the booz. We used the beach every as we could not get a sunbed. From what I could tell the management were not bothered one way or the other. The food was adverage but this hotel has been refurbished to a good degree especially the rooms. The maid service was excellent. Oh and don't forget to bring your room card to the dining room as we were chastised for not bringing ours one day. The one hugh plus is that it's an adults only hotel and great wifi.More
hotel in general
Loved this hotel. Went on 16th May for a week. Cant agree about the food. We found something to eat for every meal. We even tried a few new things. Loved our sea view room and the pool area which was just across from the beach. The staff in the poolside bar were really great and all of the other staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was on the fourth floor, it was clean and adequate. We spent hours on the balcony people watching along the promenade. Great location. cant tell you just how much we loved itMore
Wonderful in Every Way
My friend and I stayed at the adults only Sol Costa Blanca hotel between 5 and 12 June and splashed out on the full sea view rooms on the second floor on a B&B basis. We could not find fault with our rooms ... spotlessly clean with spectacular views over the pool and beach and sparkling Mediterranean. Mini fridges in each was a plus to keep juice and water cool. Also air conditioning if needed. The maid service is second to none and the staff cleaned the whole place from dawn to dusk. The buffet breakfast catered for all tastes. Excellent variety of coffee to boot. Many Spanish people were staying there and that, in my opinion, means they know a good hotel when they find one. The staff were so lovely and helpful and there is a security guy to make sure one is safe after dark. Ramon and his bar staff made the most amazing Mojito's and Sangria and all drinks came with a Tapa's treat. When we asked for a taxi it was at the entrance in a flash. Some peeps must be very hard to please because we loved it. We would go back in a heart beat. If there is a minus it is not the hotel that is to blame. Although it is well posted that it is not allowed to place towels on the sun loungers to "hog" them and leave them unused for most of the day, many guests did so. It is so selfish and thoughtless. And there is a notice about showering the sun block off before using the pool yet there were people that ignored that. Very safe hotel on the Promenade with an excellent menu and loads of restaurants and entertainment in-house and close by as well as lots of supermarkets and gift shops. It's easy to hire those little scooter's for over 50's or the disabled. Single and double one's. The beach is sandy though the waterline is a tad difficult to walk over. I thought it was rocks at first but I'm not so sure. It is very safe as life guards are stationed along it and they are very vigilant and have saved people that have gotten out of their depth. There are first aid stations along the beach as well. Police patrol the seafront en mass ... we saw them take down scoundrels. We explored the old town and the new and enjoyed the sights and open air cafe's and Karaoke bar Voice. Tony Roma's for ribs, Spanish restaurants, live music bars and some with male and female dancers. A bit of an eye opener :) For those addicted to nicotine it is permissible to smoke on the balcony. The menu of the day was reasonable and there is a show cooking kitchen. If some people want fish, chips and mushy peas when they go to Spain they should book one of those hotels that cater for their palate ... the Spanish diet is one of the most healthy in the world. Eat what the natives eat and it will lengthen your life. We met some great Birmingham guys that are returning here with their families in November. They love this hotel too. Many thanks for a truly wonderful stay Sol Costa Blanca. We will be back again and againMore

Had a seaview room with a balcony on the 5th floor, in the corner. Great views of the entertainment from the clients of the Daytona bar. Room & bathroom appeared to be newly decorated, very tastefully so. Only problems we had were checking in with a car. No access to car park until you've checked in, which took some time. Only criticism, the bacon served at breakfast was undercooked for my taste, everything else was spot on with a wide choice and in spite of a notice to the contrary, people were 'reserving' sunbeds around the pool with towels etc, 50% of the time they were unoccupied. Maybe this was due to the odd additional notice to the effect that the hotel would not enforce the 'no reserving sunbeds' rule. Other than that, great hotel in a great location.More
Hotel lovely Food disgusting
We had a side sea view room which was great spotlessly clean and maid service first class. Restaurant clean and staff pleasant and helpful. The food however was of a very poor standard cold, swimming in grease, half cooked and repetitive. Complained to the management but no improvement. We had booked for the full board i.e breakfast lunch and dinner and ate out on several occasions because of the quality of the food being served in the restaurant. The pool area has a shower but no notice to encourage people to use it and as a result very few people bothered to shower before using same.Very disappointed will not be going back to this Hotel .More
