Two golf courses, a great pool scene and a high-end spa are all part of the package at the Melia Villaitana.
This place is designed to look like a traditional Spanish village. We’re talking pretty squares, pastel-hued buildings and a pool with a manmade beach. On top of that, highlights include four restaurants, two tennis courts and a spa.
The property has a prime hillside postcode with sweeping sea views. And it’s sandwiched between two 18-hole golf courses. If you want to head into town, Benidorm is just a 10-minute drive away. This hotel is part of the A La Carte collection until April 2017. Until then, you’ll still enjoy all the great benefits, such as a private taxi to and from the airport.

The lagoon-style pool here definitely takes centre stage with its generous size, glossy palms, wooden bridges and rock features.
Evening entertainment programme in high season
The Royal Square is host to the evening entertainment, with professional live shows including The Lion King, Mamma Mia, magic shows and an acrobatic circus. Parties take place, too, with themes like black and white and Ibiza chill-out scenes.
There's plenty in the way of treatments here, from relaxing facials and Indian head massages, to full body treatments. There are eight treatment areas as well as a deluxe cabin with a Turkish bath and a hydrothermal area with Finnish sauna, Roman baths and an indoor pool with whirlpool. There's also the ECO YHI area which is located on an oriental lake with two outdoor cabins and two solariums.

Great hotel and we will return
Huge complex, amazing staff and disabled friendly! Fantastic rooms, pool and pool areas, friendly staff and overall very good. The food was good, maybe could have been hotter but a good selection and different every night. Staff friendly and made us feel welcome, Loved all the pool areas and just a shame the sun was not out to enjoy them! We will definitely return to the hotel in the future.More

Good golf break
Sixteen golfers stayed for five nights and four rounds on the Nicklaus course at a super price through golf breaks.com.Surprised at some of the negative comments on Trip Advisor as in the main we enjoyed our golf and stay. The complex is vast and very impressive with excellent water facilities and a good bar and Italian restaurant. The buffet at 25 euros was a tad expensive and like all hotel evening buffets a bit repetitive and boring but you have other options. The breakfast however was fine with good choice of cereals, cooked breakfast, omelettes etc etc.The rooms were well equipped, clean and tidy with the only downside being the lack of tea/coffee makers in the room.We all enjoyed the challenge of the Nicklaus course but agreed with other reviews regarding the grit and not sand in the bunkers. Also the base of the bunkers was " hard pan" as all the sand /grit had been pushed to the sides. With my whinging mode in full swing we had the misfortune to follow ignorant golfers who didn't rake any of the bunkers. All in all a good stay with some minuses.Benidorm old town is only a short taxi ride away and you can find decent restaurants through Trip Advisor.More
Poor customer service and indifferent attitude to serious problems.
I stayed at this hotel / resort before and had a genuinely good experience (circa 2013). Unfortunately this time around for both my family and I it was a less than enjoyable experience. I will detail the main issues below in the hope that it would help future travelers in making the correct decision for themselves. 1) Saturday (25-Mar): Checked-in and only then discovered room was a 10 min walk from reception and parking. Did not know this before and when I asked if we could be accommodated closer to reception was informed hotel was full. Fair enough. No issue really and always good to walk a bit. 2) Sunday Morning (26-Mar): Went to breakfast and after returned to room. Door key did not work - eventually found restaurant manager who came to room and opened using a hotel master key (25 mins standing outside room) . That same evening we walked from reception to room only to find new keys would not open room again. Walked back to reception (10 mins) and they came with Hotel master key - door opened after a few tries. Family stood outside the whole time as the room / villa is on outskirts of property. 3) Monday Morning (27-Mar): Went to breakfast and after returned to room. Door key did not work again. Housekeeping came and could not open door either - she called reception to report this situation and after they came they could not open door either with Master. Called maintenance. Maintenance drilled lock and gained access - told us lock would be replaced. Also requested maintenance to unblock shower was told this would be done - no outflow from from shower. We spent 1 hour outside room. I have pictures of my kids sitting in the garden playing with sticks and building a fort to pass the time... 5 and 9 years old... Tuesday (28-Mar): Shower still not fixed 4) Wednesday (29-Mar) Shower still not fixed - walked back to reception and complaint severely. Was told that maintenance had removed some "hairs" and thought it was sorted. They went back and by the time we returned to room that evening it was fixed... 5) Friday (31-Mar): Went to breakfast and after returned to room guess what: Door key did not work - housekeeping came and could not open door either. Reception came could not open door either with Master. Called maintenance again. Maintenance drilled lock and gained access - Only then did they actually replace the lock - I went to reception and encountered a rather "indifferent" manager. Family was outside for 1+ hour again....More
1st and last visit
I would like to reiterate the comments made by jammy7162 on this post line. The complex and the facilities are excellent and I would have scored my feedback as a 5 however: 1. The staff at the bar were very slow and often not very friendly. 2. We often experienced that we were charged different prices for the same drinks. 3. Our safe and room were robbed either on the last night or when we were at breakfast on the last morning. We didn't discover this until 15 minutes before we left which left no time to sort this out. We are not directly accusing the staff but something happened that lead to this. One of our fellow guests on our trip told us that staff had tried to enter their room before 8am the morning prior to this happening which seams odd when the rooms aren't cleaned until much later. 4. Another one of our party since we returned has discovered, as per the comment from Rob B, that his card has been charged 17 euros when they didn't use any room service. 5. I have sent an email with no response and hastened it but no response but will try again.More
Absolutely Fantastic been before and will go again. We had a party of 20 lads staying for 4 nights and 3 rounds of golf. We stayed B&B with plenty of choice for breakfast. We found the 2 golf courses in fantastic condition all in all a fantastic trip. More
