Two golf courses, a great pool scene and a high-end spa are all part of the package at the Melia Villaitana.
This place is designed to look like a traditional Spanish village. We’re talking pretty squares, pastel-hued buildings and a pool with a manmade beach. On top of that, highlights include four restaurants, two tennis courts and a spa.
The property has a prime hillside postcode with sweeping sea views. And it’s sandwiched between two 18-hole golf courses. If you want to head into town, Benidorm is just a 10-minute drive away.

The lagoon-style pool here definitely takes centre stage with its generous size, glossy palms, wooden bridges and rock features.
Evening entertainment programme in high season
The Royal Square is host to the evening entertainment, with professional live shows including The Lion King, Mamma Mia, magic shows and an acrobatic circus. Parties take place, too, with themes like black and white and Ibiza chill-out scenes.
There's plenty in the way of treatments here, from relaxing facials and Indian head massages, to full body treatments. There are eight treatment areas as well as a deluxe cabin with a Turkish bath and a hydrothermal area with Finnish sauna, Roman baths and an indoor pool with whirlpool. There's also the ECO YHI area which is located on an oriental lake with two outdoor cabins and two solariums.

Recently spent two days at a business event the hotel setting was lovely, could have been anywhere in the world (not Benidorm)! The rooms were large, marble floors, walk-in wardrobe, good wifi throughout the hotel, good shower, comfortable beds, but no coffee or iron facilities (in a 4 star)? Three pools, two shaped with rocks and bridges, good gym (spa extra €25 to use) The food was buffet plenty of choice and could fault it!More
Average, has potential
I've just returned home from a week at the Villaitana and I'm pretty torn between what I really think. It has potential. The buildings look beautiful, there a plenty of pools and facilities but it just doesn't work! Firstly, nothing was open when we first arrived. There was one bar to serve the whole resort, meaning no drinks by the pool. If you did venture to the bar you had to wait at least 20minutes for a drink and much longer if you wanted food. The service was just appalling but what to do you expect if there is two members of staff serving the whole resort. I could go on and on about the poor service but it wasn't all bad. The reception team were super efficient as were the porters. Pros: Lovely buildings Large rooms Lovely pools Good breakfast buffet Cons Cleaners were very hit and miss. One day they gave us one towel! No bar at pool No lunch at pool Service in restaurants Not enough staff around Staff in bar ignoring guests ( we hard one table waiting for a drink for an hour and another asked for the bill 6 times while we were there) Would I visit again? Amazing treat during the whole stay
This is a resort hotel a bit off the center of Benidorm, very close to Terra Mitica. The hotel is set like a village with its town hall, church, central square and houses. It has a very big lake like swimming pool and other smaller pools around the complex. As part of the facilities, it has also a golf course. The rooms are inside houses or small buildings spread all over the complex with a terrace or balcony. They are ample and with a very big and comfortable bed and lots of pillows It is not the first time my wife and I have been in this hotel but the treatment we have received this time has been really superb. The attention started even before the checkin when we had to do some changes on the booking with Vanessa. From the time we stepped in the hotel, everything was attention. We were welcome by Edurne who did what was necessary for us to have a pleasant stay and we had. The breakfast and dinner were served in a restaurant by the lake pool. The variety of food was very good in breakfast and dinner alike. Even with a high occupation, the restaurant didn't have an overwhelming feeling and it was very clean. In general, a highly recommended hotel for an escape or in family with a very good value for money. Only the pool is worth a visit.More
Beautiful place but dinner was a let down
I went with my 2 friends for 3 nights. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and breakfast was great. Plenty of choice too. Dinner was a total let down. The duck was like rubber, the veal was still raw and the paella was crispy rice from overcooking. They kept the place spotless. Most of the staff were nice but Francesco on reception stood out. He was very helpful. Drinks were expensive and the bar staff more or less charged what they wanted. My friend played 9 euros for a martini and lemonade. A 1 litre bottle in the supermarket was 9 euros 99. We had flooding on the bathroom floor but it was sorted out. The keys wouldn't work half of the time which was a pain walking up and down to reception. Getting in to Benidorm cost 12 euros each way so it did work out expensive. Would stay again but just for b&b. More

Worst 4* service ever
I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. 50 mins to check in, 1 pool bar attendant for 300+ guests. A drinks order takes over half an hour to arrive. Tv remote control not working . Took to reception, 24 hours later still no remote or communication from hotel. Staff very rude and clearly not trained in customer service. The food is just about acceptable, but not a good standard or choice. Most definitely not 4*. Stayed in many hotels including RH Corona del mar Benidorm. This hotel is half the quality of RH. Would never book againMore
