Hotel Villa del Mar

Magic Villa del Mar teams style with a standout location – it’s right on Poniente Beach, close to Benidorm’s old town.

This beachfront property gets top marks for style. The interiors are super-contemporary – think funky chairs and coloured lighting in the bars – and bedrooms are dressed in a palette of soft colours. Opt for one of the Jacuzzi sea-view rooms and you’ll be able to look over the Med from your own whirlpool bath.

The swimming pool is just as easy on the eye. It’s a small, rectangular number with a pebble-effect border and a line of in-water sunloungers. More loungers are set out on the sun terrace, along with chic white parasols.

Up on the roof, there’s a terrace with widescreen sea views. During the day, it’s a sunbathing area with loungers and a soundtrack of chill-out music, while after dark it transforms into a chic cocktail bar.

Location-wise, you’re just across the prom from sandy Poniente Beach and less than 10 minutes’ stroll from the tapas bars and restaurants in the old town.

Great Hotel

Stayed here for a week mid Feb. I think the staff at the hotel were superb, nothing was too much trouble. From the dining room staff to reception and cleaners, all were professional, smiling and seemed very genuine. A credit to the hotel. The view from the bedroom was great over the beach and across the bay. Beds were comfy and the sitting area made it easy to relax in the room. The bathroom had the biggest bath I have seen in a hotel with double sinks. The hotel is ideally situated on the sea front where you can sit out and have a drink watching the world go by. The roof top bar area is a great place to relax with seats and sun loungers. The choice of food was very varied and delicious with a wide selection of drinks and cocktails. The entertainment was variable but have to say the singer Cheryl Louise was actually so much better than the singer at the Benidorm Palace. ( I have to say the band at the Benidorm Place called New Bamboo with the woman singer were terrible, she could not sing, was out of tune most of the time....luckily the dancers and magician were superb) The only a couple of downsides to this hotel. One is the fact you can not control the air conditioning from your room, its was on hot or not at all, when the room was very hot the only option was to open the window wide which still did not cool the room enough at times. The lack of lifts is a issue. One was out of order most of the week so did not really enjoy waiting for ages but did not have much option as although on the 4th floor had my elderly Mum with me. I do think the dining room would be a too small for the hotel when fully occupied and also far too hot in there in Summer months. I would stay again anytime out of season.More

Very Pleasant Hotel

We stayed here for 5 nights in February, to be honest I was a little unsure what to expect with the reputation some Benidorm hotels have. However I am pleased to say that this is a very pleasant relaxing hotel and I would recommend it to any one. The room was very clean and tidy and I am glad we paid a little extra to get a sea view. The bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding, the bathroom was very modern with a very large bath, his and hers sinks and a futuristic shower. Food was of a very high standard with the breakfasts being a particular highlight. There is a wide choice of drinks on offer and the staff are very attentive. The only criticism of the hotel is that the restaurant is quite small and sometimes you may have to queue to get a table. We were always waiting for the restaurant to open so it was not a problem for us.More

"Gem"

Only had two nights here as our initial hotel wasn't ready for us. Should never have been worried, what a gem, from arriving to leaving everything was great. We had a fabulous room with a Jacuzzi bath, super king bed, the food is first class, as are the staff. I can honestly say I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again. Thank you all for a wonderful experience.More

Well there is only one thing to say about this hotel, perfect, the rooms, the staff, The food and drink were amazing, the attentiveness of the staff was spot on, nothing was too much trouble for Fran! Every meal time was a joy, Raul on the rooftop bar was brilliant, and Jose in the basement bar was fab, a truly amazing experience and I can't wait to visit again. Just a little more attention on the entertainment but can't fault the hotel. Thanks had an amazing time kyta and Dan from Barry. More
