wonderfull holiday

This is the second time we have visited, and we were not let down the villa del mar is bright ,very clean to a high standard. we were greeted by Wilson on the desk very helpful and pleasant, we saw him a few times during our stay and he was always cheerful and ready to help as are all the staff. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived but we were able to get drinks and snacks which was great, when we did get into our room we were greeted by a bottle of champagne. the room very clean and comfortable we stayed in a sea view twin. The food is very well good with lots choice, and always fresh, the restaurant is ran very well . thanks for another wonderful holiday and will look forward to visiting again More

The room was left dirty eg it took 8 days for the sink to be cleaned, half eaten food in a bag was left for 3 days, bedside table on the left of bed was never cleaned, floor was dirty in places it was only cleaned where you could see, pillows were the worst I've slept on,mattress didn't fit the base. Foodwas unappealing undercooked, chewy, and no variety, no choice for children ( even though we didn't have none with us)young waitresses unapproachable, and the entertainment was awful(we feel sorry for the Eagle Owl for having constant photos taken with a flash camera- these are nocturnal birds and that amount of light that he was subjected to was cruel just one photo for a human is blinding so god knows how that owl was and his owner professed to be a conservationist!!! The staff on the front desk were brilliant and the older staff as well. This was our second time to this hotel and the rating has fallen from last year we will not be returning and if anyone I know asks if I would recommend it I would say NO. When these surveys are done do they get read and acted upon as some of the things I've I put in last year and there are more people who think the same .More

Wonderful stay, will be returning!

My partner and myself stayed here for 11 nights from 4th July. The hotel is definitely worthy of its 4 star rating. The Reception, dining, bar and domestic staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms were always very clean. We stayed in a sea view room with whirlpool jacuzzi which for us was definitely worth the upgrade. The food selection for my partner was good, a lot or food is made fresh in front of you. With regards to myself, I am coeliac so follow a gluten free diet, and the restaurant manager, Joaquin, couldn't have been any more helpful. Nothing was ever a problem and he was happy to have anything I wanted freshly prepared. He totally exceeded my expectations and I would like to again say a huge thank you to him. The pool area is small, and you can struggle to get a sunbed, but there is a policy in place that if a bed is unattended for 15+ minutes that your items will be removed, and staff are happy to respect this if you inform them. José, barman at the pool, is lovely. Very helpful and is always prompt with your drinks, he is a natural born entertainer and should at least be a bar manager! Also, the rooftop area is beautiful, you cannot beat the view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I would recommend it to anyone and will be booking up to return next year!More

Villa Del Mar

Beautiful sea views but no balconies means you can't enjoy a private moment with them. The hotel is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Not a hotel for kids as the kid's club doesn't run regularly and the small pool area is too sheltered and has little breeze. This wasn't a problem for us as we spent our days on the beautiful beach on the doorstep. The restaurant is spotless and the food is the best I have experienced in all my travels. There is always lots of choice and it is always hot and fresh. Rooms are spacious and kept lovely and clean. We were a group of three so we struggled for hanging and storage space in our double room. The old town is just a short walk along the lovely promenade with shops and restaurants right from the hotel in all directions. Entertainment was laid on each evening and was enjoyable if not scintillating. This hotel is a cracking base for a stay in Benidorm with unbeatable views, welcoming staff, lovely food, clean rooms and everything on the doorstep.More
