Relaxing and amazing!
My family and I went to Benidorm for a few relaxing days, and this hotel made our trip even better. The customer service was top-notch. Was excellent. The food was very good as well, we all had a blast and got to relax and enjoy some summertime with amazing views to the sea. We will def coming back in our next trip to SpainMore

Villa del mar
Our party of 8 have just returned from a weeks stay at villa del mar. Bit of a mixed review. Food - much the same as any all inclusive buffet style. Choice was ok, quality was ok. The all inclusive drinks was branded drinks so better than to be expected. Pool - the pool was nice but very small and not many beds. Entertainment - terrible and the venue for the entertainment was horrible. Not a comfortable place to hang out - was in the basement and had low ceilings and lack of comfortable seating. Rooftop bar - very nice to hang out however they closed it at 12 and you were chucked out as it was locked up so had to move downstairs to sit out at the front of the hotel. Would have been nice to be able to sit and finish your drinks. Rooms - I had a room for 4 which was same size as room for 2 with the sofa used as a sofa bed. Children were 13 & 16 and said bed was very uncomfortable. We then had nowhere to sit and no where to hang all clothes so had to live out of the suitcases. The shower had no pressure and was inadequate. The air con in the other room of our party kept going off. Facilities - the toilets downstairs behind reception had glass doors and glass partititions that you could see straight through. Pretty uncomfortable. No toilet on the level of the pool. Pool bar staff was rude. Towels were available but there was no communication of this. Gym was not worth being there and equipment was broken. Lifts were inadequate - you could die waiting Spa - we booked the spa for our party and had to each pay 3.50 euros for the spa pack. Which consisted of a disgusting cap and a pair of throwaway flip flop things. The lady in the spa was actually beyond horrible and practically threw the packs at us and demanded to see passports for our younger group who were all over 16. She addressed the young adults and not the parents and was aggressive and intimidating. The spa was not worth the 3.50 each .... there was a 'Scottish shower' and I asked what that was since I've never seen one and she waved me away and dismissed me saying it was just a shower. As I'm from Scotland I was intrigued as I've never seen a Scottish shower in a spa before. I had also been planning to book a treatment but obviously didn't after witnessing her aggressive manner. Staff- on the whole the staff were in general ok. Ali in the dining area was very helpful. Jonathan on the other hand was rude and aggressive to our younger party members. We also made a complaint to reception regarding Jonathan's manner and the lady in the spa and the written response was basically 'thanks for your complaint,. Other hotels in the group - our decision to book this hotel was that we understood you could use the facilities of the other hotels in the group. What was not explained anywhere was that a) you had to book it before hand and b) there was limited spaces and c)the free bus didn't stop at villa del mar. We winged it a bit and managed to go to : Robin Hood - worth a visit. As was great for kids however the lunch ticket was only valid in one of the restaurants and thus wasn't communicated to us. We discovered the restaurant name was printed on the ticket however it doesn't exist. There was lots of space and plenty sun beds Tropical splash - worth a visit but limited sun beds/ space Magic Cristal park - horrid & dirty don't go near it Rock garden - horrid - smelly and dirty don't go anywhere near it Pool towels - policies were different across the hotels - not all provided towels Communication - thought the welcome on arrival ( we arrived abt 11pm) was really poor, no communication on the hotels policies. I would definitely never return to this hotel. It really is on suitable for adults with low expectations.More
This is our third visit to this Hotel, and this visit was every bit as good as before. The hotel is small and doesn't have balcony rooms but the sea view rooms more than make up for it, we had sea view room with a Jacuzzi bath and it was lovely, the rooms are immaculate, and cleaned every day, the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is small but very well run and the food is great . There is a lovely rooftop bar for relaxing. The spa is very nice and offers treatments. The position of this hotel is great, the beach is out the front and just a short walk into the old town which was great for us.More

Another visit to Villa del Mar
We have returned once again to this fantastic hotel. After discovering the hotel we think we have found Benidorms' jewel. The hotel is smaller than most in the city but because of this it has personal service. There are no queues at the bars or reception. All staff are extremely polite and well mannered.Reception staff speak perfect english and are smart presentable and informative with matters relating to transport around the city and where to explore in the areas nearby,Just ask them they are local. and willing to advise. The hotel is at the start of Poniente Beach and is actually on the promenade across from the sands.A bus stop at the door and all on a level.Ideal for anyone with walking difficulties and i could find no problems for wheelchairs either entering or in the hotel itself. It is situated a short walk from the old town just along the prom. easy walking distance for those who wish to go out after the all inclusive bar closes at midnight.Entetainment is provided in the caberet lounge downstairs with Abba tribute acts,Michael Jackson tributes ,magicians and many more in this beautiful air conditioned modern lounge with again no queues at the bar and very polite attentitive bar staff. Some of the rooms have hot tubs in the window areas looking out to sea through privacy glass.Unfortunately no balconies, but a very quiet sun terrace on the roof with a bar open from 10am until midnight. This sun deck has lovely white rexine covered sun loungers and boy does it get hot up there for sun seekers,At the rear of the hotel is a small pool and kids pool quite adequate though, as the hotel is not a busy one.and we found no difficukty getting a lounger. Also at roof level is a spa pool and massage rooms for those who need further pampering.Towels are provided for you for use on the sun loungers available from the pool side bar.Just give your room number to the freindly bar man.You have no need to bring heavy beach towels from home in your luggage. Food is delicious and unlike many other hotels is cooked on the premises in the hotels kitchens under the scrutiny of the head chef.Meat is well cooked and tender and a choice of food for every palate. This hotel i rate 5 stars. It appears to be Magic Groups' flagship although Magic have hotels that cater for every need and budget this one is to my mind top of the range for our requirementsThis hotel defiunately does not cater for hen partiues or stag groups. My advice is look elswhere if you are going on one of these holidays as it is no where near bar street or Levante promenade bars and the hotel has a strict no nonsense policy. So basically here we have a quiet hotel, ideally positioned, newly refurbished with good air con and well worth a visit. ,More
