Mixed Feelings about the Levante Club and Spa

We have just returned from a week at the Levante Club and Spa and have mixed feelings about this hotel. I always try to be fair when reviewing a hotel so I will be as honest as I can with this one. On arrival, we had a couple of teething problems, the safe wouldn't work with the key they gave us and the balcony door wouldn't close. But as soon as I advised reception, they got it fixed straight away. What Thomson Holidays didn't tell me was that reception took at 50 Euro deposit because we were in a superior room which we got back when checking out. I think this was in case we stole the bath robes or kettle! The room was very spacious and the toilet was huge and of course very clean. The maid cleaned our room every day and fresh towels were left. Our balcony had a table and chairs and 2 sunbeds which was just super. The food in this hotel is a bit of a hit and miss which kind of spoiled it for us otherwise this hotel would have got top marks. My husband and I found that we could neither cut the meat nor chew it! Sometimes the food was luke warm but there is a microwave in the dining room which made a big difference. We would go and dish up our food, pop it into the microwave then it was fine for eating. The dining room looks very nice and is very clean and the staff are very efficient. We ate out on 4 of the nights which was a great pity as we were all-inclusive and found we really didn't want to eat in the hotel because the food wasn't that great. The hotel (especially in the corridors) are starting to look a bit tired now and could do with freshening up but I have to say that the staff were wonderful. They were very cheery and very hard working - I will give them credit for that and the hotel is clean. The bar area is a bit non-descript. Just grey metal table and chairs - with a couple of sofas - not really somewhere you would want to relax and chill out - looks more like a canteen than a bar. At the beginning of our week, the hotel was quiet but on Thursday, there was a party of around 12 men out for a good time. They really enjoyed themselves but they were too loud for us. They were in the 40s / 50s and behaved like they were 18. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the beach and about 5 minutes from the Benidorm Palace. We went to the show and it was spectucular. This I would thoroughly recommend. Also across the road from the hotel is the Rock and Roll House which is a great night out. All in all, we had a great time in Benidorm.More

Second Fantastic Trip to the Hotel Levante Club & Spa

We have just spent another week at this Hotel, after going last year and having a wonderful time. We honestly can not find anything to fault this hotel. The staff were wonderful. The food was fabulous and plentiful. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was faultless. There was nightly entertainment and something to suit everyone's taste over the week in particular Alex the singer. Daisy & Alberto were great as was everyone. Nothing was to much trouble. The cleaner came every day, even later when we left the do not disturb sign up. We went to Altea on the bus which was a lovely day out. The local market is on Sunday & Wednesday & worth a visit. Well Done every one. We will return.More

Good hotel

Been here many times previously and standards and service remain of a very good standard. Large comfortable rooms with a nice dining area and pool terrace. One fault which we have noticed previously is that the food is not kept hot enough once placed out for serving. Apart from that could not fault anything and have already booked to return.More

Not a 4 star

We stayed in this hotel from the 29 Sept 2014 for a week, with another couple. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were a good size, and were cleaned daily, and the staff were very friendly. Now for the bad points, the food was great for choice, but it was cold or barely warm, the drinking glasses in the dinning room were badly scratched round the top, so bad that they were almost opaque, this is supposed to be a 4*hotel, not a cheap cafe, the snacks in the evening were just left overs from the evening meal, this is very poor. Going back to the room, there was no full length mirror in the room, there was a mirror in the bathroom and one in the main bedroom, but both were only head and shoulders high. The bathroom I found unusual, as it was all frosted glass, even the entry door, that had no catch to actually shut the door !!!!!! The toilets in the lobby of the hotel were also in this frosted glass, I like a bit more privacy in public toilets, it's a bit off putting when you can see the persons outline in the next cubicle. There was no lounge to sit and have a chat, it was just the bar, with table and chairs, I think for this size of hotel the seating was sparse, we went later in the season so it was quieter, I would think you would have trouble finding a seat in high season. I wouldn't go back to this hotel, I wouldn't class it as a 4*, it's much too small, and the facilities are not to the standard of other 4* hotels we have stayed in. All in all we were disappointed.More
