A laid-back hotel close to Benidorm's clubs, bars, and beach, the Hotel Helios gets top marks for location. Pool-wise, there's a large one with a snack-come-cocktail bar on the side. The restaurant lays out a spread of both international and Spanish fare, too.
This place has a really central setting. It’s right in the heart of Benidorm and just a ten-minute walk from Playa de Levante – the town’s most popular beach. Lined by shops, bars and restaurants, this wide stretch of sand comes with all the trimmings.
The hotel itself is a big contemporary number, with bedrooms set over eight floors. They’re simple but smart. And they all come with extras like satellite TVs and private balconies.
Outside, meanwhile, the pool is the main attraction. It’s a big rectangular affair, framed by a spacious sun terrace. During the winter, it’s heated. There’s also a separate children’s pool, and during the summer a snack bar complete with a palm-fringed dining terrace.
In terms of food, big global buffets with show cooking means there’s always plenty of choice. Dishes tend to have a Spanish flavour – think paellas, tapas and fresh seafood – but there’s plenty of cuisine from other countries, too. We’re talking everything from steak and chips to pizzas. For after-dinner drinks, meanwhile, the open-air bar serves up cocktails by the pool.

Smart wooden floors, soft lighting and matching soft furnishings create a stylish twin room. It can sleep up to four in twin beds and one or two beds for children. Providing new towels and keeping the room clean and tidy, there’s daily maid service with linen changed every four nights. Air-conditioning is available from 1st May to 31st October. And just so you know, if you need to use the phone it needs to be prepaid.

This is a typical 3 star tourist hotel. Our booking was originally declined because we were only staying for three nights so I had to email the hotel to make the booking. They then accepted it after realising that we weren't a stag or hen do party. The beds were extremely uncomfortable because the mattresses are so thin. I thought the food in the restaurant was just avarage but my niece and nephew loved it. You pay extra for drinks in the restaurant. The pool area gets very crowded and it's difficult to find sunbeds together. The wifi is free with a good signal in reception but poor in the room. Overall it was okay but I probably wouldn't stay here again. More

Hotel Helios Benidorm
We stayed at this hotel in October. The bar area and lounge have recently been refurbished. The bedrooms are quite large and cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant is quite good but a bit repetitive. It's also centrally located for the bars and night life and the market. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.More
Another return visit to the Hotel Helios in October. Beautiful weather to complement the beautiful hotel. A very warm welcome from Angela, quickly checked in, & up to our room. The hotel has lovely friendly faces, many of whom remember us. Warmly greeted in the dining room, & asked if we approved of the changes taking place, new tables, & arrangements. Yes! More changes planned, a new reception means the hotel will be closed for a month, re-opening on the 18th December.More

stayed for two weeks in September.the only downfall for me was the restaurant.there was no head waiter to welcome you, cards were not checked.we stayed half board but I think if you were cheeky enough you could have had lunch as nobody checked.clearing of tables and resetting was slow when busy, may be a few more staff would have helped. reception bar and pool area were good as were the maids.i would stay here again but maybe on bed and breakfastMore

FIRST CLASS HOTEL
I stayed in the Helios from the 8th to the 15th November 2014. The hotel is in an ideal position for all the the bars and restaurants and local outdoor market. The room was a good size and was cleaned every day, the towels and sheets on the bed were also changed every day. There was a good choice of food in the restaurant and the staff were friendly and efficient. The reception staff were also very helpful. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Benidorm and the Helios is one of the top hotels, I would recommend it to anyone.More
