A laid-back hotel close to Benidorm's clubs, bars, and beach, the Hotel Helios gets top marks for location. Pool-wise, there's a large one with a snack-come-cocktail bar on the side. The restaurant lays out a spread of both international and Spanish fare, too.
This place has a really central setting. It’s right in the heart of Benidorm and just a ten-minute walk from Playa de Levante – the town’s most popular beach. Lined by shops, bars and restaurants, this wide stretch of sand comes with all the trimmings.
The hotel itself is a big contemporary number, with bedrooms set over eight floors. They’re simple but smart. And they all come with extras like satellite TVs and private balconies.
Outside, meanwhile, the pool is the main attraction. It’s a big rectangular affair, framed by a spacious sun terrace. During the winter, it’s heated. There’s also a separate children’s pool, and during the summer a snack bar complete with a palm-fringed dining terrace.
In terms of food, big global buffets with show cooking means there’s always plenty of choice. Dishes tend to have a Spanish flavour – think paellas, tapas and fresh seafood – but there’s plenty of cuisine from other countries, too. We’re talking everything from steak and chips to pizzas. For after-dinner drinks, meanwhile, the open-air bar serves up cocktails by the pool.
Twin room sleeps up to 4 with twin beds and 1 or 2 beds for children, air-conditioning 1st May - 31st Oct and daily maid service with linen changed every 4 nights and towels changed daily. If you need to use the phone, it must be prepaid.

Don't come here !!
I am currently on holiday in benidorm with my boyfriend staying at the Helios. The hotel itself is ok but some if the staff have attitude problems, the rooms don't get cleaned everyday just the beds made and the food is TERRIBLE !! We are full board and are not fussy eaters at all but seriously the food here is a very poor standard, poor choice and we have had to eat out every night. More
Second time in two years we have visited the Helios , Very hard to fault anything once again , Ideal location , not too near the lively streets of Benidorm but just near enough.
The Pool is superb for Old and young alike as it starts off with a walk in area then gets about 5 feet at its deepest before getting shallower again,Kids will love it, Plenty of beds available ,although despite various signs saying not to,People were saving prime spots for sunbathing by putting towels on their beds then going for breakfast etc!
We stayed in room 426 with a pool view, Very nice room ,the maids were excellent and respected the do not disturb signs on the doors when we had had a late night (or Two!!).
Absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Benidorm for the first time .More

good class hotel
This hotel is ideally situated for the night life of benidorm .we were disappointed about the hotel blog of removing towels off sunbeds after 20 mins as this did not happen as people were out at 8oclock grabbing beds.also males going to evening meals intatty shorts when it says long trousers for men should be worn in restaurant at night.fire drill when the alarm went off at 7.30am was laughable as there was not one member of hotel staff to do a people check even when we where told it was a false alarm later after coming down the fire escape from 9th floor!(topfloor) with people with disability's and frightened. Apart from this blip the holiday was very good and would recommend this hotel.More

lovely central hotel
Lovely hotel and very central, just down from market. Exellent staff, free wi fi that works really well. We had a lovely sunny pool view room on 7th floor. Large clean room with large walk in shower Room service excellent and friendly. There is meant to be a policy about not putting towels down but every morning before 9 am the usual all the morons down claiming their space as i used to watch them from the balcony and this happened every single day...We always used to manage to get lounger, i would never follow these idiots reserving beds get a life..There were a lot of loungers it was more the space where you could put them that was restricted. The pool gets the sun most of the day once it moves round unlike a lot of hotels where the buildings block the sun.I have been to benidorm about 6 times so tried other hotels food and i'm afraid the helios is not the best, there were a lot of weird foods on offer ie beans with fried eggs on top for a dinner meal, and soup with tripe, , my husband eats anything and he struggled.there were salads but you get a bit fed up with that as these never changed. The guy who made eggs and omlettes at breakfast was a lovely friendly guy who always had a lovely smile and a big hello for everyone what a credit to this hotel.Deserts were ok just the usual cakes etc, some of the show cooking was either cooked till it was rubbery ie chicken or cooked outside and red inside ie burgers (hubby had upset tum after burgers resulting in chemist visit. I always managed to get enough to eat but did find it difficult, also they need to find a way to keep breakfast slightly hotter as it was all luke warm.I would stay again at this hotel for the cleanliness and location but would like room only in future. my last note is to cleaning manaement, on our last day just before bus home my husband went to the toilet with his new black t shirt and on returning to me the front of the t shirt had what was obviously bleach all over it, he had not noticied i can only think, he leant against the sink area whilst washing his hands and for some unknown reason raw bleach must have been there, it was not an expensive tshirt but was first time on so now in the bin to say he was raging was an understatement, good job a child did not go against this and get into their eyes so this should be addressed if using bleach make sure it is rinsed away....More
