A laid-back hotel close to Benidorm's clubs, bars, and beach, the Hotel Helios gets top marks for location. Pool-wise, there's a large one with a snack-come-cocktail bar on the side. The restaurant lays out a spread of both international and Spanish fare, too.
This place has a really central setting. It’s right in the heart of Benidorm and just a ten-minute walk from Playa de Levante – the town’s most popular beach. Lined by shops, bars and restaurants, this wide stretch of sand comes with all the trimmings.
The hotel itself is a big contemporary number, with bedrooms set over eight floors. They’re simple but smart. And they all come with extras like satellite TVs and private balconies.
Outside, meanwhile, the pool is the main attraction. It’s a big rectangular affair, framed by a spacious sun terrace. During the winter, it’s heated. There’s also a separate children’s pool, and during the summer a snack bar complete with a palm-fringed dining terrace.
In terms of food, big global buffets with show cooking means there’s always plenty of choice. Dishes tend to have a Spanish flavour – think paellas, tapas and fresh seafood – but there’s plenty of cuisine from other countries, too. We’re talking everything from steak and chips to pizzas. For after-dinner drinks, meanwhile, the open-air bar serves up cocktails by the pool.

Not The Best Hotel That I Have Stayed in
I have just returned from a 2 night business stay in this hotel and I am not impressed and I have to first declare that I live in Spain, travel to this area on business regularly and have stayed in many hotels in this area Best to say that this hotel has room fir improvement and the rooms are tired Location great, staff very friendly and helpful and very clean Problem started when we arrived and it took reception more than an hour to sort out a safety deposit box, starting by giving me a lock for a box on the wall, then decided that it was electronic and eventually after 4 visits giving me the correct access code WIFI was non existent in our room, 2nd floor, complained and was told nothing could be done, use the WIFI from reception. Internet is a vital part of my business requirement The room was clean but very basic, yes we selected the entry level accommodation but the furniture basic, no bath and the bed was uncomfortable The food was poor, limited and cold, we made sure that we got into the restaurant early as wasn't refreshed, no fresh seafood or themed buffet on Friday as per the room guide Outside areas clean and well presented, even people using the pool, entertainment was poor I am not used to having to pay cash for everything, normally I would secure payment with a credit card at the end of the break or having to queue for drinks in the restaurantMore

Spent a week over New Year at the Helios. Pleasantly surprised. A good location, close to the beach, Old Town and close to the bars and restaurants. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the bedroom cleaned daily, good size too. We were on the top floor overlooking the pool. Bathroom had a jacquzzi bath and shower. Plenty of hot water. Hairdryer not up too much. Found the food to be adequate. Plenty of choice at mealtimes for everyone. New Years Eve gala dinner was OK but took a long time in being served. Left the dining room before the dessert. We were given mugs and grapes for the NY. The dining room staff were very pleasant, as were the bar staff. Good priced drinks in the bar too. Caberet most nights. Didn't think much of the Drag artist. Most people had got up and walked out halfway through his "act". When we arrived late in the evening because of a flight delay we had a picnic box handed to us because we missed our meal, which was gratefully received. We had a very good time here and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it or returning there. Well done the Helios team. Thanks for a pleasant stay.More

Birthday treat for the wife....A well located hotel...staff were very respectful English speaking and helpful...room was very clean and comfortable...food was good and plentiful...very wheelchair friendly ordered a couple of mobility scooters delivered to the hotel within 2 hours...we stayed in room 820 overlooking the pool road was busy but the noise didn't bother us...The only downside for us was the entertainment at night very repetitive not our cup of tea if I had to listen to achy breaky heart one more time I would have lost the will to live but plenty of people seemed to enjoy it. Would we go again?...Yes when the nights are warmer and we could get away from the entertainment.More
Xmas at Helios
Recently stayed at this hotel for christmas which is in a perfect location to the beach, bars, and all the night life and attractions including the market. The hotel is very clean and was being spruced up during our stay it looks lovely too the staff are really pleasant surroundings are great rooms are clean and comfy dining room clean the only niggle we had the food was not up to scratch although a good choice of food we found it the heat of the food poor if taken from the buffet, fresh cooked was fine but the buffet food had stood too long and didnt seem to be kept to a proper temperature. Having said that christmas day meal was great with silver service it was superb which made up for the other meal times.More
