A laid-back hotel close to Benidorm's clubs, bars, and beach, the Hotel Helios gets top marks for location. Pool-wise, there's a large one with a snack-come-cocktail bar on the side. The restaurant lays out a spread of both international and Spanish fare, too.
This place has a really central setting. It’s right in the heart of Benidorm and just a ten-minute walk from Playa de Levante – the town’s most popular beach. Lined by shops, bars and restaurants, this wide stretch of sand comes with all the trimmings.
The hotel itself is a big contemporary number, with bedrooms set over eight floors. They’re simple but smart. And they all come with extras like satellite TVs and private balconies.
Outside, meanwhile, the pool is the main attraction. It’s a big rectangular affair, framed by a spacious sun terrace. During the winter, it’s heated. There’s also a separate children’s pool, and during the summer a snack bar complete with a palm-fringed dining terrace.
In terms of food, big global buffets with show cooking means there’s always plenty of choice. Dishes tend to have a Spanish flavour – think paellas, tapas and fresh seafood – but there’s plenty of cuisine from other countries, too. We’re talking everything from steak and chips to pizzas. For after-dinner drinks, meanwhile, the open-air bar serves up cocktails by the pool.

Smart wooden floors, soft lighting and matching soft furnishings create a stylish twin room. It can sleep up to four in twin beds and one or two beds for children. Providing new towels and keeping the room clean and tidy, there’s daily maid service with linen changed every four nights. Depending on the room there's either a bath or shower, while air-conditioning is available from 1st May to 31st October. And just so you know, if you need to use the phone it needs to be prepaid.

Just had 10 days at the helios hotel is very nice rooms are excellant the thing that let it down was the food it was never hot and not a great selection most of.the guests were older spanish and i think the food reflected this. We did complain and were told to.write it on the comments sheet .would i come back to the helios i very much doubt it which is unfortunate as the hotel its self is in a good position and is very clean .More
an average break
just spent a week at this hotel ,it is totally 95% Spanish 5% british ,we arrived Monday the 9th of march for my 50th birthday we sent an email to request a low floor overlooking the pool which we did receive, the rooms are lovely large walk in shower very clean and lovely duvets on the beds.the bad points the walls are paper thin!! there was a Benidorm bark next door to us and the other side we heard every phone call she made home then we had a heard of elephants above us so my advice would be take ear plugs!.the restaurant was very poor the first 3 days food was luke warm then the following linch they put out last nights food so you got sick of seeing the same things ,pork curry not nice first time around so can you imagine seeing again!.then the Spanish pensioners left bingo food went up 10 fold lovely gorgeous indian night so avoid Spanish free holiday time.the staff in restaurant didn't speak a word of English didn't even attempt to be friendly.reception staff and maids were very friendly maybes they can give restaurant staff some tips.now to the resort never again it has certainly detiorated and is like magaluf and never felt safe so we wont return ,the mayor of Benidorm should get a grip and not let this happen it was once a lovely place but stags and hens run riot.dont let me put you of though the hotel did tryMore

Lovely hotel - good location
Just spent a lovely week at the Helios, along with 90% of Spanish holidaymakers !. The hotel is spotless, the room cleaned every day and the bathroom, although a little on the small side, was good with an excellent powerful walk-in shower. The food was always to a high quality, with lots of choices to suit everyone's taste. My only gripe is that the restaurant didn't open until 7.15 pm which for us is a little late - most hotel restaurants open at 6.30 pm, which when you are on half-board is just right. Can't comment on the entertainment, as we walked out every evening and then came back to our balcony for a drink. The pool was lovely and warm (heated until April) although on the small side. Not sure I agree with people coming in from other hotels/apartments (albeit at a cost of 2.5 euros) - sure this would be a problem in the summer months. Overall this is a lovely hotel and if you have any specific needs, email them and they will do their best to accommodate you. They gave us everything we asked for - we will definitely return.More

Lovely Hotel but could do Better.
We stayed 2 weeks at the Helios, on the 5th Floor, lovely pool room. We arrived on the 17th February for 2 weeks. Food good, Room and Bathroom very good, in fact spotless. Entertainment poor, we went out most nights, as the hotel has a good position. There were only 10 percent of English when we were there. The hotel meal in the Evening at 7.15pm, was too late for us. The staff are all good, restaurant, reception, etc.More

very enjoyable time at hotel
just returned from a 5 day break here at the Helios. stayed half board. We arrived late Friday night just after 10.00pm check in was easy receptionist friendly, explained where everything was ie restaurant lifts to where our room was located and a bonus was a packed lunch as we had missed the evening meal which was a lovely surprised. we went to our room and devoured the packed lunch as we had not ate since lunch with still warm bread rolls, tinned tuna, bottles water 2 apples and oranges. rooms where very nicely set out and bathroom spotless balcony view not much other apartments/hotels but very quiet. following morning went to restaurant for breakfast good lay out food was the usual but still enjoyed. no complaints either over evening meals always a good choice. pool area very clean and tidy. never stayed in hotel much as we where out n about in the day. met friends while over there but not staying at our hotel but they enjoyed the hotel and have decided to stay there next holiday in Benidorm so thats a result. all in all we really enjoyed our stay and very impressed and look forward to our next stay thereMore
