Hotel Helios

A laid-back hotel close to Benidorm's clubs, bars, and beach, the Hotel Helios gets top marks for location. Pool-wise, there's a large one with a snack-come-cocktail bar on the side. The restaurant lays out a spread of both international and Spanish fare, too.

This place has a really central setting. It’s right in the heart of Benidorm and just a ten-minute walk from Playa de Levante – the town’s most popular beach. Lined by shops, bars and restaurants, this wide stretch of sand comes with all the trimmings.

The hotel itself is a big contemporary number, with bedrooms set over eight floors. They’re simple but smart. And they all come with extras like satellite TVs and private balconies.

Outside, meanwhile, the pool is the main attraction. It’s a big rectangular affair, framed by a spacious sun terrace. During the winter, it’s heated. There’s also a separate children’s pool, and during the summer a snack bar complete with a palm-fringed dining terrace.

In terms of food, big global buffets with show cooking means there’s always plenty of choice. Dishes tend to have a Spanish flavour – think paellas, tapas and fresh seafood – but there’s plenty of cuisine from other countries, too. We’re talking everything from steak and chips to pizzas. For after-dinner drinks, meanwhile, the open-air bar serves up cocktails by the pool.

Average Break

Stayed here 3 years ago was an OK Hotel then.Since then extensive improvements have been made to 1)Main Entrance 2)Reception Area 3)Dining Room 4) Outdoor Pool Area 5)Childrens Play Area Outside pool area has seen the total disappearance of outdoor Evening Entertainment Area and what was the Childrens Play Area. All Ertainment know takes place indoors and New Childrens Area consists of a Plastic Construction that has slides Tec and that's it suitable only for very young children say 3 to 5yearsoldGround Floor Rooms 101 to 110 are situated directly ABOVE New Entertainment Area and should definitely be AVOIDED a QUIET Holiday is wanted was told by Reception noise could notbe lowered as System Had Only Got One Volume Setting - Extremely Loud. Hotel was however handily placed close see to lots and lots of Bars Tec -close to Market as well Food plentiful staff ok -queuing every evening for Resteranut if wanting to eat later Had to Pay for Safety Deposit Key Water if you had a bottle between two at 1.40Euro a bottle adds to holiday cost. Localhost sold lager between 1Euro -1.50Euro a pintMore

A Lovely Family Holiday

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at this lovely hotel. We were greeted at reception by a really lovely lady, given a great room over looking the pool. Food lovely restaurant and bar staff brilliant. Would highly recommend for families and couples. In a great location for all the good bars with entertainment on each evening.More

Location 1 Food 0

My wife and I stayed here full board 30th March-4th April 2015. Our third trip to Beni. We only go for the nightlife so the location of the Helios is perfect. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The bar prices are reasonable and the pool area is adequate. The pool is heated so thats a bonus. I imagine that at peak summer times the pool area would feel overcrowded. We had a room on the third floor over looking the Penny Farthing cafe (excellent food served here, we recommend the breakfast). The rooms are of a good size and kept very clean. However during our stay air con was not available. The fridge had to be 'hired' (we didnt bother) and of course as other hotels in Benidorm you had to pay for the safe. Otherwise no problems. As stated in many reviews for this hotel the food was mediocre. We always found something but its the reason I will not give the hotel an excellent rating. One morning one of the two sausages I had, tasted rancid. I should of complained to give the management a chance to sort this but went to the Penny Farthing for breakfast instead. My wife chose a chinese something or other dish on the last night but could not eat it. Tasted greasy and weird. She had a salad instead of which there was always a good choice. It is a good hotel and if the food was improved I am sure this would be reflected in the ratings.More

Cheeky Five night break!!!

Stayed at the Helios from the end of march for 5 nts, fab stay rooms nice and big, bathroom excellent jacuzzi bath was great, always plenty of choice at the buffet. Great location 5 minute walk to the bars, but far enough away so no noise!! Looking forward to staying there again May with all the family. Only thing I didn't like about the hotel is you have to pay for fridge, never had to that when I've stayed in other benidorm hotel.More

THE HOTEL HELIOS BENIDORM

Back from our 4th stay at the Helios, its a lovely hotel great staff from cleaners to manager. Very clean rooms with plenty of room we where at the front over looking pool, quite a bit of work going on around the pool but should be finished now.The pool is great very easy to get in no steps, its heated too.The only thing we didnt like was the food was always just warm never hot unless you had what the chief was cooking. Its a shame because the food is good but needs warming every time. There is some thing going on every day at the hotel and the shows where ok. All in all its a good hotel just the food lets it down.More
