Wish I could give five stars but a couple of gripes
First I'd like to say that the location of this hotel couldn't be better, it was perfectly placed on Poniente beach. Our room was very nice, the maid service absolutely excellent in every respect, left money out by mistake on a couple of occasions and found it perfectly placed back on the dressing table by the maid on my return to the room. I also think the room safe should be free of charge, but that's just a small point. On the whole the restaurant was very good, but I have to say that the food is fresher and hotter at lunch than it is at dinner, restaurant staff excellent. Like several other guests we found the noise coming from the metal fabrication work being carried out at the hotel to be unacceptable in the last few days of our stay, it meant we were unable to enjoy the pool area during this time and couldn't have our patio doors open or enjoy afternoons on our balcony as the sound of metal cutting and grinding was terrible and intrusive. That would be the only thing that stopped us from giving five stars, we will return in the future but it could easily have stopped us from returning if everything else hadn't been so very good about the Corona.More
Fabulous 80th birthday holiday
Hubby and I went for three weeks in February. First few days was UK weather - cold and windy but who can guarantee the weather! Second time we have visited Corona del Mar, the last was ten years ago. Just as we remembered it, lovely food, comfortable room, good entertainment. Benidorm Palace was well worth a visit. Had a bottle of champers delivered to our room, even though the hotel wasn't told it was hubby's 80th, which was a lovely surprise. Joined by our family and friends later in the holiday who also rated it a first-class hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for you in all departments, lovely and cheerful all the time. Reception was particularly helpful, advising us on bus routes etc. Will definitely be back!! One little niggle- could we please have a jug of tap water on the table at lunch-time?More
We have just returned from a fortnight at the Corona del Mar. We were impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff, from our check-in at reception to our check-out 14 days later. Our room was at the front overlooking the sea. It was bright and roomy. The view was excellent. Throughout our stay the room was always cleaned to a very high standard. The restaurant was always a time yo look forward to. All meals were excellent with plenty of choice. The buffet always topped up as soon as an item was nearing the end. The staff always cleared the tables and served drinks with a smile. The staff at the indoor Spa were always helpful and explained when the pool might be quieter. The outdoor pool was always clean and well set out. Unfortunately the pool, though tempting to look at, was not warm enough to swim in. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Corona del Mar and have already booked two more visits. Special mention must be given to Rosita at reception who was always able to give us great information as to what was happening in Benidorm.More
very clean and very friendly. A wide choice of food at every meal but sometimes not hot enough ( but can rectify this problem with the use of available microwave). The upkeep of our room was excellent every day.More

Another great stay
This is the second time we have visited this hotel. We stayed a full 28 nights this time and we were not disappointed. Most of the staff were the same as the last time we stayed fourteen months ago, and as always, they were all friendly and immaculately dressed. The hotel is a happy place with the staff all seeming to enjoy their work, and very attentive but not intrusive. The hotel is always immaculately clean and very well maintained. On our visit, the bath tap mixer broke (plastic handle), but one telephone call to reception at 6.30pm had it replaced by 7.15pm. Very cheerful plumber as well. The rooms are large and well maintained, both times we stayed on the North side of the hotel, in the rooms without a sea view and the balconies can be cool at night. The south facing rooms (supplement) have sea views and sun for most of the day. We prefer cooler, that's why we visit in the winter months. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and we returned to our room after being out all afternoon to find an ice bucket with a bottle of the house cava and two glasses arranged on the table in our room for us, with a note from the hotel. We had never mentioned the event to the staff or hotel, they must have got the information from the booking. A lovely touch. The food is a good mix of local and English, always well presented, and fresh. Picnic lunches are available if booked the evening prior. These are also well presented and generous. The hotel is located fairly centrally on the poniente (and quieter) side of the old town, a few hundred yards from the harbour. We find this location perfect as it is a short stroll into the town or about two miles either way to the ends of the two beaches. If you go inland it is an easy walk to the tram station where you can get reasonably priced tickets to Alicante or Denia the other way, with stops in-between. We will be back to Benidorm (it doesn't close in the winter), and we will stay at this hotel every time. The hotel deserves to be for star plus when compared to other four star hotels in Benidorm.More
