The Gala Placidia is only 10 minutes’ walk from one of the Costa Blanca's best beaches, and you’ll pass a load of bars and restaurants on the way.
The Gala Placidia is an ideal base in Benidorm. The closest beach is one of the best in the Costa Blanca, and you can get there in less than 10 minutes’ walk.
There’s a hatful of shops, bars and restaurants a short, downhill stroll away, while the nightlife centre is a 10-minute cab ride. What’s more, there’s a huge theme park 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

Do not go to this hotel with young children! It's perfect for stag/hen parties or a group party! The transfers are a nightmare and don't expect any help from the hotel with them! Upon arrival you will be greeted by a rude receptionist and made to feel like a complete inconvenience! Keep it simple when asking for a drink,or the look you will get from the bar staff will almost kill you ! We paid for a superior room as it was stated the room was bigger with free wifi, tea coffee and hairdryer, traveling with a 4 and 22month old, just thought paying for this room would make life little easier! How I was wrong, we was on the 6th floor, got told wifi wasn't free, my son didn't have a cot or a bed was told "as he is a infant he doesn't exist" (they was the exact words from the reception) if you do want a cot for your none existing infant it's â¬7 a night !! Once in this "superior room" on the 6th floor we found out none of the doors locked, so my 4 year old could just get up in the middle of the night if she wanted and let her self out ! Not to mention my infant that doesn't exist and is just starting to learn words, so trying to explain not to open and go through the doors and run off can become a little difficult, expressed our safety concerns to reception, there answer was none of the doors lock due to Heath and safety and Spanish laws, advised us to use the rooms furniture to barricade ourselves in, with the room door not locking and also the balcony door not locking we began to run out of furniture!! We then found out the hard way that if we shut the bathroom door we got locked in the bathroom, with no way of getting it open from the outside, not the nicest experience when your child is on the other side, if this does happen find a maid who has a tool in her pocket that can open it! There is a English member of staff you may wish to talk to that goes around the hotels, don't wast your time as this will also get you no where. Paid for late check out like a idiot, was told we would still be able to have food and drinks until we checked out , please bare in mind we wasn't drinking alcohol as we was traveling home, tried to get the children a drink of juice, the bar tender had one of those looks that could kill, and escorted my husband to the reception, were the same person who had told us we could have food and drink then did a full 360 and said he never said anything like that and everything in fact stops at 12 midday! The food is plain, boring and tasteless, people sate in these reviews you get what you pay for, I believe in that, but I don't believe in paying money no matter what the price and being made to feel like we was! The staff have no compassion or regard to any of there guest, we spent the last hours of our holiday sat outside there sister hotel waiting for our transfer. If you have young children pay that little extra, Benidorm is a lovely place, but this hotel is not! As we didn't manage to resolve any of our issues at the time with the hotel, I am writing a full complaint to our holiday provider, we are laid back people and a little compassion would of gone a long way with us, don't ask for the hotel manager as he is always unavailable.More
Booked this hotel at short notice it was half board. The hotel is clean the rooms are on the small side but do the job. There is no kettle or fridge in the room. The bathroom was clean but the shower was over the bath. We didn't really use the restaurant only had breakfast once which really wasn't up to much it was like going back to the school canteen. At night the hotel can be very noisy from guest coming back to their rooms which can go on all through the night . It is situated about 15 mins walk to levante beach. There are 2 nice pools which have plenty of sun bedsMore
Great location however very basic... Was ideal for the type of holiday planned husbands 30th. Food was pretty rubbish however we weren't expecting much for the price drinks were typical all inclusive pools were very cold however expected in April... Overall a holiday is what you make it and we had a great time. Staff were friendly and hotel felt safe no problems noted other than the food but luckily we didn't plan on eating however tried all sittings in which were as bad as each other unsure how they manage to go so wrong with the food and serve it so cold even the breakfast when we were there as they opened on our day of departure. Would recommend for a boozy holiday for couples and groups however would not be the place for a relaxed holiday or children!! More
Basic but decent
Was a cheap all inclusive getaway. Checked in no problem, found the room easily enough. The lifts were on the small side but both working. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was basic but never struggled to find something. The pools were clean and tidy. There was a hen party at the same time but never heard them at night. The beds were very comfortable. The corridors echo and you could hear people pulling cases along on their way home. The hill to the hotel was quite steep. Only a ten minute walk to the beach.More
Big Let Down This Time
I have stayed at this Hotel a couple of times mainly due to price, but this time was a total nightmare we checked out two days early due to the noise and booked into the Dynastic. This was not a Hotel this time but a Zoo hardly got any sleep from the Stag/Hen groups and the English Loud and Proud Brigade complained to staff was told they had a 1am curfew crap I said it stipulated on the pamphlet they gave you on check in that any disruptive noise or behaviour will not be tolerated so much for that rule. The staff and so called security guard did nothing to calm the noise down unfortunately it appears that this Hotel is going in the wrong direction for the type of clients it allows to stay, I agree with other comments travel sites and the hotel both should warn people with families or couples looking for a relaxing stay they wont get it at the Gala Placidia. I was young once but I never went about knocking peopleâs doors at 4am for fun or shouting and screaming blowing whistles, setting of fire extinguishers or defecating and urinating in the lifts that can hardly hold more than two people at a time yes fun is fun but not at the cost of a family with say young children trying to sleep. Look donât get me wrong without the animals in the Zoo this is a very nice Hotel dated yes but quaint the staff have a horrendous job cleaning up after them. And they do work extra hard to make it a pleasant stay to no avail due to the animals. Food is Basic and look warm at best limited selection nothing to write home about but you wonât starve, the A/I Deal is not worth the money at least for us anyway as we ate out in the evenings just to get some rest bite from the Zoo. Now if you are a party animal then this is the Hotel for you, I would go back but only off season if you have a young family or a mature couple stay well clear. Rooms are dated but acceptable pool facing rooms donât get any sun until after 4pm They donât offer mini fridges for Hire found that odd. All in all I get the impression that the company just want to rake in the money with very little going back into the hotel, they know it is long overdue refurbishment so get what they can just now and care not a jot about reviews, as in a year or two they may invest and announce the New Look Gala Placidia, Well I can wish can I not.More
